What is mew

Funny how the topic is what is Mew and its turned into a Who came first: Mew or Arceus war.

Anyway, I think Mew looks like a cat/mouse/foetus/loads of stuff XD C'mon, to me it doesn't look like 'One Thing' XD So yeah, I'd say either a cat or foetus (or both. :))

A cat/fairy. Based on these things:
a) It 'mews' like a cat 'mews'
b) It flies [fairy]
c) It has a cat-like tail, ears, body, and face

Maybe saying as Mew can transform into Arceus. Did Mew make an egg though. Legends say that Arceus was born of the first egg or something.

It doesn't have to be a Pokemon egg, it could be a egg of another creator. Or it could be a metaphor, you can't really know since the games doesn't have a definite answer on the origins of Arceus.

Any ways, the fetus idea creeps me out. Although it kind of works because miw is the name ancient Egyptians called cats and one of their cat goddess, Bastet, was the god of fertility.

now after looking at it for awhile, im thinking mews like a combination of a mouse and a small cat-like thing, or its a pokemon, or a pokemon recreation of a little kid. i mean mewtwo is sorta like a adult like pokemon, so would that make mew based on a little kid.
if you ask me it sorta makes sense

Hmm, I guess you "kitty Mew" people have points. The ears and the name. But the sound it makes could also be compared to a mouse squeak, and it has the hind legs/tail of a kangaroo rat. Maybe its a cross between a cat and a kangaroo rat? The fetus theory sounds very possible, too. Its all 3 8D

I still don't see the mouse.
It looks as much as a mouse to me as it does to any mammal with paws and a tail.
Also, any one notice it lacks whiskers?

I just don't see it.
Maybe it's because all I've ever seen it do it float. If I saw it hop then maybe.

Its still a fetus/embryo no matter how much it is said that its a cat.

uhh guys :| mews past is based on science whilst arceus's is based on mythology :|

And if mew can use all kinds of moves then it either coexisted with arceus and did nothing to make the universe, or arceus created mew as the ancestor of all other pokemon, i.e. Every pokemon is related to mew, except for arceus because he/she was the creator. The creator is never created.

Many cats have quite long tails, and the kangaroo rat guys do have a point there; but most of the body is feline.

Bottom line (in my opinion): Mew is Mew.

i think mew is supposed to be a cat with abnormally large feet. i mean doesn't mewtwo look like a cat too? with the lil ears and paws? :D

mew's a baby ancester marsupilami (google it, as i can't link yet)

but i realy think it's a cat, maybe some mouse features, and made pink to have a cute look

Mew is normally described as a pink cat-like creature. Mew's hair is so fine, it can only be seen under a microscope. It has a long, skinny tail. Mew has big hind legs, like a rabbit, and short arms with three-fingered paws. Mew has triangle-shaped ears and baby-blue eyes. Mew is said to have the DNA of every single Pokémon. It also vaguely resembles a fetus, and is often depicted in a pink orb similar to a womb

My favorite park s the fetus

I think mew is one of those hairless cats

Maybe Mew was a one cell organism until he evolved into the cute, adorable, half mouse half cat and half fetus, we know of today.
