Pla gave us a new genie, so, do you think something like that will happen again and what legendary group would you like to see get a new legend?
Perhaps a convergent form of the Tapus that resemble the ones from Alola but are technically different species of Pokemon?I would love for Lugia and Ho-oh to get new forms, but I think it could be the Tapus. They weren't in Scarlet and Violet, and they're from the gen right after Kalos which would follow the same pattern as the genies did. Although I can't really come up with any kind of lore that would link the Tapus to Kalos…
That would be a neat angle. They could be connected to French culture somehow. If the Unovan legendaries didn't already seem to reference the 3 Musketeers, I would think that would be a cool thing to base new forms onPerhaps a convergent form of the Tapus that resemble the ones from Alola but are technically different species of Pokemon?
New legendaries would be cool! Tbh the main legendary/mythical I really want to see is Volcanion, so I can finally finish my home dex 😭It's probably not going to be the Tapus- the three legendary Bird Pokémon got new regional formes in the Sword/Shield expansion, but they're not strictly Kanto residents like the Tapus are with Alola. It would seem odd to see them in another region, and you'd wonder what they were doing there.
Of course, we might just get a whole new set of legendaries- that would be something new, which I would like if they did.
tbf there wasn't a precedent for that until Gen 3; but I agree that the box legends in GSC feel kinda odd compared to later games, there are only 2 of them as you mentioned. And despite being on the front cover, they don't really do much in the story apart from just chilling in their base waiting to be caught. I really liked Ho-Oh's portrayal in the Lost Silver remake by Reidd Maxwell from a few years back, where it isn't actively malicious but is extremely territorial and doesn't like people climbing Bell Tower; while not really tonally consistent with the games. It's the head canon I've used for it and Lugia since I saw it.Not to mention the Gen 8 DLC that created 2 more Regies to add to the already existing 3. :p
Well I would say the Legendary beasts from Gen 2, but because those less than stellar looking 'primal' versions now exist thanks to Gen 9, I don't want to risk making them worse... >.>
So I'll go with Ho-oh andLuigiLugia. It's always seemed odd to me that Gen 2 didn't have the more common 3 Legendaries from other games, (not including Gen 1) so giving them and 'actual' '''Crystal''' (I'm sure someone's thinking 'Suicune!', but no, that's one of the beasts, it can't also be a 'major Legendary' imo) Pokemon would complete the group.
