I have Win 7 Starter on my netbook and Win 7 Professional on my desktop. I like it. I don't mind macs, but I'm not willing to pay a thousand dollars for one. I've never tried Ubuntu.

(I can understand the lack of a floppy drive, though I often find myself wishing my computer had one, but why the lack of a CD drive? Don't people still use those?)

It's one of the rather defining differences between Laptop and Netbook that Netbooks don't have any sort of CD/DVD drive.

Consider using a USB drive workaround!

I was considering getting a netbook with Windows 7 but eh. Can't afford it at the moment..

Had Windows XP, bought a new computer and got Vista, Vista sucked so I got rid of that and finally got Windows 7 64 bit. :D

Mac OS X is nice, but I'm too used to Windows to switch.

@Mod: Could any MOD/Admin change the Poll from Ubuntu to Unix? And Add any other option felt necessary.

Might as well remove Mac OS X as well seeing as how it's built on BSD and BSD is Unix...

I use Vista because this is a rental laptop, when I get a new computer next year I'll probably have Windows 7.

I use Mac OS X 6.4, and I haven't looked back at Windows since. Sure it isn't the greatest OS ever, but I prefer it over Windows, however I still have a few programs that aren't supported on a Mac, as the PC is obviously the most widespread platform.

Okay, here goes:

Main desktop: Windows 7 Professional (main OS)/Windows XP Professional (second OS - never used)/Yet to be determined Linux distro (most likely Fedora 13, though - third OS)

Laptop: Windows Vista Home Premium - Will be Windows 7 Professional in a few months, though.

External Hard Drive Virtual Machines - Windows 3.11 on top of DOS 6.2, Windows Server 2003, Fedora 12 (never use any of these, though)

My main operating system is Mac OS X 10.6.4 which I run on my MacBook Pro. I do have windows 7 installed via boot camp, but that's only ever used to watch blu Ray movies.
The current OS that I use predominantly (until I get fully moved) is iOS 3.2 & 4.0.

So your using an iPad and iPhone mostly? (Is that what you mean by iOS 3.2 and iOS 4?)

I'm seriously thinking about getting a MacBook, but I'm wondering how much of a pain it is to run Windows under Boot Camp for games an anything that won't run under OSX - I don't want OSX to be a liability. I've always been against it, but I've realised that the hardware is what I need - decent power, small size, good battery life, nice keyboard. Now that Source has been ported to Mac... I don't know... Coming up with $1500 is going to be an issue...

Oh, and:
And make this poll multi-choice.
Please? Zet? Twocows? Anyone?

Ubuntu is technically a Linux distro.

Uh.

Windows 7 is decent, I guess... I'm stubbornly holding on to XP, though. Waaaaay too many old games are incompatible with Vista/7, and I don't like most of the new games atm anyway.

I have a machine with Windows 3.1. Seriously.

Don't you need a blu ray drive to watch blu ray movies? Or is the video file blu ray?

I can't do anything, I'm just a PC Supporter now.
