    Seriously did you?

for my 7th birthday my parents bought me pokemon gold (and a gameboy color :D) and god knows that I did not know how to play that thing xDD
For some reason I thought the pokemon center helped level up your pokemon, so I was in that pokemon center for well over 2 weeks xDDD

But when I got sapphire I got the hang of it and went back to gold and finish it

I knew how, although I was still rather poor at the game overall in any sort of strategy (it was Yellow Version, I was pretty much the kid who got stuck at Brock for a week or so, I eventually trained 5 random pokemon from Viridian Forest and pikachu to beat him...didn't find out about Mankey & Low Kick till it was too late).

I was 9 and it was Pokemon Red... Figuring out how to battle and use items didn't take very long, in fact I got the potion from the PC and easily beat my rival on the first try (and everything else I faced), the thing that took the longest actually was first going to Viridian city and not knowing to go to the pokemart... Ended up getting my Charmander to evolve into Charmeleon before I walked in by accident, before that I had been wondering how to catch things or fight stronger opponents...

    Simpler times...

I was the one to get stuck in the player's house. Stupid mat. I got Silver when it first came out, I was so upset that I couldn't get started and get my Totodile. My cousin eventually figured it out for me. :D I think I was six or seven.

I had no idea how to catch a pokemon at first. I thought you had to knock it out, so everytime I was like, "darn it, it ran away again!!" It wasn't until a while later I realized I just had to weaken it. Yeah, I was the world's smartest 5 year old ever.

I got blue version sometime back in the second grade. I was the worst at it. I knew i had to kill stuff to level but that was about it. And in silver version, i got stuck at the part where you go above cherrygrove because i didnt know what to do so i raised my cyndaquil to like lvl 15 before i figured it out.

and in yellow, i was also unaware of the mankeys, so i raised my pickachu to like lvl 25 and it learned slam...lolz.

When I first got red back when I was 6, for the first three days, I was walking around the house. I didn't know how to get out. Eventually, my best friend found out what to do and showed me. After a month, I got the hang of it. Ever since then, I've loved the games.

My first game was Gold and it was before I could read. To this day I have no idea how I managed to get as far as I did.

I was the one to get stuck in the player's house.

I thought I was the only who did that!

The only game I had played prior to Pokemon Silver was this 3D Platforming/Adventure game on the Playstation 1 (called Spyro the Dragon. Anyone remember it? It used to be such a good series). I spent about 10 minutes going up and downstairs wondering, "Why does the game keep flashing?!" :P

I think I was about 6 or 7 years old. Thank goodness for my Dad (who played most of the beginning of the game while I watched him because I was scared that I would mess up. lulz.)

Other than that, I pretty much figured out everything by myself. I'm not exactly sure how I did it...

    Not at all D:
My first game was FireRed, and at first, I had no clue what to do! I thought that the message 'Pidgey's speed fell' was actually a good thing, I spent an entire day going through Rock Tunnel without Flash because I thought it was the only way (I surprisingly made it), and I had trouble finding the Rocket Base in Celadon City. (Even though there was a Rocket guy in one of the houses telling me not to go near the poster in the Game Corner...)

I was stupid and didn't play Pokémon until Diamond came out, and it was actually pretty easy. Unlike many that I know, I actually read the instruction manuals, so I got the hang of Diamond pretty easy. Then, I decided to go slightly retro and purchase FireRed (back then, it was still officially on sale), and I was stumped about how to get Poké Balls or progress (period) until I stumbled into the Poké Mart.... I felt really stupid.

I got Yellow version for my 6th birthday. I remember naming the Pikachu random letters and I thought you had to knock out wild Pokemon to catch them. For so long I thought I had like twenty Nidoran. I think I eventually went back to Oak and he told me that you have to use Pokeballs to catch Pokemon and gave me a few balls.

I was 5 years old so I could barely read. I didn't know that first attack said Thundershock, well actually I did I just couldn't pronounce it. After a while I got the hang of it and then it got insanely hard again when I was trying to figure out how to get into Saffron City.

I was just button mashing in my red game. I didnt bother looking at the booklet (which, by the way, I still have) and eventually lost so much that I figured out what I was doing wrong and started to correct myself.

On Red, I got stuck in the house, managed to get to viridian city, couldn't get past the old guy, didn't know how to catch pokemon, started with Charmander so Brock killed me.

Basically everything went bad for me. :D
