  • Alright, let's finally answer this. :')

    TTRPGs

    Jovian Redtip
Jovian is a multiclassed Rogue (1), Bladesinger Wizard (5) in a longrunning game based around elementals and sentient weapons. He's a bit of a shit, he's cocky and conniving and he's a smartass who should learn to keep his mouth shut. He's mostly good-natured though despite these dodgier traits. He'll give his party a lot of crap and ribs them (and everyone else) constantly, but he'll go to bat for them in a heartbeat too. Jovian's an interesting guy morally. He believes that magic and artefacts shouldn't be horded away and kept hidden for use only by a singular group. He thinks that people should be much more open with that sort of thing - and if something is too dangerous to be public, it should be destroyed. To that end, he and his brother used to go around stealing magics and artefacts and the like and redistributing them to places like libraries or whatnot. Unfortunately, this led to them making some elves rather mad and Jovian's brother got teleported away to another plane of existence by a trap. Jovian is looking for his brother now and hopes to bring him back to the prime material plane.

    Iggy (IG-G9)
I play Iggy in a Star Wars 5e campaign. He's a lv 8 Scout - basically a ranger magnaguard droid. After being purchased post-Clone Wars by the Hutt cartel, a freak series of events led to him developing sentience and free will. He decided he was god damn person, not an object, murdered his owner and fled. He was eventually captured and found himself on a prison ship where he met the rest of the party. His main goal is droid emancipation and he's helping fight the Empire with the party as a way towards that goal. Iggy values his freedom and personhood (and that of others) and appreciates the way the party treats him as one of them and not property. Because of that, he'll go to extremes for their sakes. He's got a bit of a temper where slavery (droid ownership and actual slavery both) is concerned and is much more comfortable on a battlefield than in negotiations. Despite considering himself a person, there's still a lot of subtleties to socialisation, society and "the biologicals" that he doesn't really get. He's working on it though!

    Elek Sarrali
Elek is a level three Gunbreaker (from the ffxiv 5e doc) played in a Westmarches-styled campaign. His homeland has been occupied by an evil empire and he is the only member of his family that managed to successfully escape during an attempt at fleeing north. He has enrolled in an adventuring academy to hone his skills and establish connections with people of power (personal and political) in the hopes of eventually mounting a counter attack to free his family and his people - and to topple the empire entirely if he can. He's a generally friendly and amicable guy, but he doesn't really get close to people easily these days - he's at the academy for a purpose after all. Granted, his walls are quickly falling away because he just likes these people too much. Elek his headstrong and tends to rush headfirst into danger, always putting himself between harm and his allies. He has a tendency to instinctively shit talk his enemies in combat to draw their ire towards him. He's prepared to risk everything for the sake of doing the right thing and for the grater good. He struggles a lot between his kinder nature and his desire for revenge.

That's all my TTRPG characters. I'll post my text RP characters from here a bit later!

  • Okay, let's go!

    Text RP

    Milo Bell
Milo is my tired lawyer softboi from Halls of the Screwed. He's way too dedicated to his job and only accepted the offer to go on the holiday to Purgatory Road so he could get some work done uninterrupted. He's pretty chill and tries to keep people out of trouble when he can. He's the sort who becomes passive aggressive when he's really angry but who would never raise his voice at someone. He just ad his first ghostly encounter in the mansion and it was not a fun time.

    Catherine Carlisle
The only Pokemon RP character on either list lol. Catherine is an idealist, but not necessarily in a good way. She believes that the world should be 100% selfless, which has led to her being very disillusioned with people and society because this isn't really possible. She has trouble seeing altruism and thinks everyone always has ulterior motives, even when they're seemingly doing good deeds. She's trying her best to live up to those ideals herself, but it's not easy. It's taxing and tiring really. She struggles to be around people and has found she's at her most relaxed when it's just her and her team in the middle of nowhere... even though she misses the conveniences and comforts of the city.

Originally, Catherine didn't have any interest in being a trainer. She was cut off from her family's wealth and told she had to go on a journey and experience the outside world if she wanted that access back. So she was only doing it to get back the ability to hide away from everyone. Her experiences with her team and with the people she's met along the way have had an effect on her though. Now she's one of the most fierce competitors, believing that if she becomes champion she can use the position's clout and social power to push Galar in the direction she wants it to go.

    Also she's a huge weeb.

    Primilla Bellamy
Prim is my character in Guilds of Atria. She was born in the country of Valbestia, a place where all magic takes the form of bonding with a magical beast. Something went wrong when she formed her bond though, because of her proximity to the bizarre Mistlands. Instead of bonding with her bird, she was merged with it - the two becoming a single entity. Her hair became blue, her personality shifted and her memory of the time before became hazy in places. She had become a Valbestian Touched (Touched are people altered by the mist), something very rare. This freaked people out in her tribe, so they booted her out and she ended up being adopted by a family in Atria.

Being both Valbestian and Touched, Prim has experienced a lot of discrimination. But rather than break her, this has made her defiant. She's the first to rush into a fight and doesn't take shit from anyone. Of course, those are just parts of her personality. She's friendly and enjoys joking around with people and getting into verbal jousting matches or "friendly competitions." Despite her shounen anime protag personality, she's also very much interested in things like fashion and popular culture - becoming enamoured with them after moving to Atria and living in the capital.

Because of her unique situation, Prim seemingly lacks magic. The most she can really do is turn into a bird form... except that's not entirely true. Her bird's power before they merged was wind-based buffing magic that could increase someone's strength or speed. As it turns out, Prim is just now permanently under the effects of the lower levels of that magic making her monstrously physically strong despite her small frame. This has made Prim very confident in her abilities... probably too confident. Definitely too confident. Especially given her brash, defiant and competitive nature.

  • I'm bad at playing group RPGs because of my posting habits and current schedule, but I got in Solo RP over the last few years and I've been playing Scarlet Heroes with few different characters now. I'm putting them in the same incarnation of the world and just switch between them how I see fit, slowly forming a overarching story.

Kazimir Breakblade (Level 3 Dwarf Fighter)
A dwarven soldier, whose battalion got crushed by the Sho-blooded. He and his comrades were found and taken by warlocks of Tien Lung to serve as a blood sacrifice. Kazimir escaped, but since he was way too far from dwarf kingdom, he had to hide in the forest. To survive, he started stealing and robbing other travelers. He would do anything to get back home, even break the most sacred laws of dwarfs like buying and selling slaves. Or getting involved in political fights between warlocks and clerics in Tien Lung. In fact, he couldn't care less about humans and left a bloody trail behind him. In the end, he made it back home. But the rumors of his actions soon followed and he was expelled from the kingdom in an attempt to stop a war with Tien Lung. Now, he roams the island with no clear goal.

Sabiha Jaludi (Level 2 Human Magic-User)
Sabiha is a village witch, curse breaker and herbalist from Xian Empire. She was helping other villagers with their problems, sometimes by selling them her potions, amulets or by performing simple rituals to get rid of evil spirits. She always tries her best and is well-known for her passion and valor. After some surrounding villages are destroyed by the Red Tide, militia comes to her with a cursed sword that turns anyone, who touches it into Darkspawn. She takes it on herself to destroy the sword, but she is too weak to fight the entity in the sword all by herself. She makes her way to Danju and asks local community of mages for help. But she is tricked into touching the sword. She encounters a Dream Lord inside and after failing to beat it, she is forced to form a pact with it to prevent it from escaping the sword. Now, she is trying to find a way to destroy the sword and Dream Lord inside, while also avoiding cultists that are after it and Dream Lord's voice inside her head luring her to his side.

    Reginald "Gin" Rawlings
Finally, my only "active" character on PC is Gin from Together Forever. He is quiet and doesn't interact with others that much, because of how his parents treated him. They wanted him to be the elite ace trainer, who uses only the strongest and the rarest Pokémon. But Gin would rather look for unlocking the potential of every Pokémon. That's why he picked Pyukumuku as his partner. They joined Rangers to escape the reach of Gin's parents and shortly after that joined the group of Together Forever. Gin and Pyukumuku's fusion is unique in a way. Pyukumu is the focus of the fusion, meaning that it's the strongest in a place Pyukumuku is located. So if Gin is holding Pyukumuku in hand, then the fusion is most visible on that hand, if Pyukumuku is wrapped around Gin's legs, then the fusion is the strongest on legs and so on.

  • I didn't know this was a thing. How does it even work?
It's sometimes referred as DM-less RP. Basically, the DM is substituted with bunch of random tables (sometimes called Oracles) that helps you move the game forward. It works the best in sandbox-ish campaigns with no clear storyline, because of the random nature of Oracles. Otherwise, it works the same as regular RP, just roll a dice from time to time to help you, when you get stuck with what happens next. There are loads of Solo RP material, some focused more on dungeon-crawling, some focused more on story-telling, some just on world-building. And it's fun way to kill time and scratch the RP itch.

I think I'd rather just write a story at that point myself, but it sounds interesting!

  • hi I am playing Casey Holt in Trainers! He's generally kind but ultimately self-serving, game for any challenge but runs away from actual problems, has tons of friends but keeps walls between them, respects people but doesn't really respect authority, thinks he knows best but hears people out... He's definitely taken a few blows to his wildly high self-assuredness over the course of the journey, and is starting to feel a little like someone has swept the rug out from under him. His biggest concern is protecting himself and what he considers "his"- his team, his things, his friends- but he has a very skewed view of what is dangerous and has a habit of assuming everyone else is as physically capable as he is. He's wildly afraid of being unable to protect himself and considers Ghost-types to be his biggest threat because of their alleged ability to possess/control people; he's also highly suspicious of Psychic-types and status conditions. Right now he's just "broken up" with his two best friends (Jordan, played by Juno, and Vera, played by Groc) because they went ahead and added some Ghost-types to their team. Casey tried to reconcile this for a while but decided he needed more time, especially after Vera pulled some Stunts on him, so this is actually breakup #2... but Casey is genuinely making a concentrated effort to Deal With His Issues now. :') He's also tentatively interacting with his much older sister who very clearly doesn't like him at all so that's some fun stuff for him to sort out~
