It's so backwards, I agree. And they were doing so well with their handhelds beforehand, too.

If Rhythm Heaven 3DS ends up Japan exclusive I'd be really bummed out and end up importing a Japanese 3DS just to play it.

Nintendo 3DS game advice...

I only got the system last month, and was looking to get a new game soon.

At the moment I have- Fire Emblem- Awakening, Tales of the Abyss, Bravely Default, Animal Crossing- New Leaf, Rune Factory 4, Story of Seasons, Harvest Moon- A New Beginning, Pokemon- X, Pokemon- Alpha Sapphire, and The Legend of Zelda- A Link Between Worlds.

So I am looking for something to fit with my collection. Thanks!

I still can't quite believe Nintendo still practice that ridiculous, archaic, anti-consumer policy...it's infuriating, especially when certain titles are digital-only in some countries, meaning you need to buy expensive SD cards to fit them on.

...sure, the Vita is just as guilty with digital-only releases, but at least you have the option of importing if you don't mind Japanese text. Region locking has no place in the current generation of gaming.
Nintendo have actually explained their reason why it's region locked, and they're currently finding a safe way to remove it while avoiding any potential issues.

I highly recommend persona q, etrian mystery dungeon, monster hunter 4 ultimate, and the upcoming mario puzzle and dragons.
i'm into rpg's so those are all good are rpg's except for the puzzle game. it's like bejeweled.

Also the other Etrian Odyessy games. They're worth checking out if you like RPGS.

I wanted to try the Etrian games when they came out. Can I still find complete ones for DS that aren't so expensive? Was thinking about the fourth one for the 3DS, but I have to own the previous numbered games in a series if I can.

If it's an option, Amazon has new copies of the first three for around $25 each. Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Milennium Girl is a remake of the first game for the 3DS that goes for about the same price on Amazon, or you could probably still find it in store or get it off the eShop during one of Atlus's many sales if you don't mind digital. Etrian Odyssey II also has a 3DS remake coming out soon.

I already have Bravely Default, it's on my game list. Hmm... I'll try to find the remake then.

Excuses. There is no valid reason for carrying the practice on, and if Nintendo are the only company who can't find a way to deal with any problems that arise from not having it in place, that only shows how inept they are as a company.

I don't see how something like region locking can be justified or defended, because it doesn't benefit the customer in any way and, whilst companies are in business to make money, no money can come from such an anti-consumer policy like that. I'm not willing to accept any so-called "reasons" Nintendo might provide, because it's inexcusable in this day and age that they're the only ones who insist on it.

Reactions: Hi!
Oh, when is Bravely Second out? I really liked the first game, then my 3DS got taken over by other titles.

The second game is already out in Japan recently while there's no word on localization yet. Some people speculated it'll be announced in this year's E3 since Square Enix will be featured there.

While I'm at it, I watched some livestreams of it and all I'm going to say is for those worried about the repetition similar to Bravely Default, Bravely Second doesn't have that same problem! XD

Etrian Odyssey Untold is actually a remake of the first. I suggest you pick that up instead.

Are there plans to remake the other two Etrian Odyssey games that came out for the DS? I'd get those too, if I can.

Nice! None of the local Gamestops have the first one though. Online places I should look? Besides Amazon or E-bay, of course.

It seems to me a lot of recent 3DS titles are either taking forever to come out over here (see: Rune Factory 4) when compared to the US. Yet another reason to be annoyed about region locking on Nintendo consoles - it wouldn't be so bad if we could at least import the things. I never did get to play Arc Rise Fantasia, or Baten Kaitos: Origins...

I was debating getting Milennium Girl at some point (probably in August or so) as I've developed a taste for first-person dungeon-crawling JRPGs from Demon Gaze...and Mind = Zero, I guess. Are the DS ones worth buying?

They're all good games. But the Millennium Girl is a remake of the original and is an improvement too (IMO at least) so if I were you I'd just buy that one instead of the original DS game.
