    Lately, Piplup has been spending a lot of time out of its Pokeball as Pikachu is. Looks as if Piplup is trying to be the new mascot. It kind of got me wondering if Piplup will ever be an Empoleon.

    Prinplup would be way too heavy for Dawn to carry and would have to either go back in it's Pokeball or walk alongside Dawn and the rest of the gang. Empoleon would attract way too much attention so back in the pokeball you go!

    Looking back, the other heroines had their starters evolve all the way. Marina's Totodile went all the way to Feraligatr and May's Torchic went all the way to Blaziken. So what do you guys think? Will Piplup go all the way or spend the rest of it's animated life in it's basic form like some of Ash's other starters.
     
    I don't think it would be too unrealistic for Dawn to keep an Empoleon outside of its Pokeball. Then again, they might be trying to make this series different with the female protagonist not evolving her starter. Unless it has an everstone, I'm just going to say that it will evolve all the way to Empoleon.
     
    Hmmmm. You make a good point with the pattern, but it could just be coincidence. And (imho) piplup suits Dawn's image a lot better.

    Piplup = cute

    would like to see if Piplup does evolve into Empoleon eventually.
     
    I really doubt it. Sinnoh has gotten to 107-ish episodes and there has been no signs of it evolving.

    Piplup is a ridiculously annoying mascot and nothing more. If I ever see Empoleon wearing pom-poms, I'm going to fackin' PUKE. >=[

    Piplup won't evolve, we've seen all three forms, Nintendo doesn't care anymore. If it does evolve, it proves that the show is unpredictable and that Nintendo probably hated Piplup anyways.

    Which reminds me, Brock needs a water type.
     
    I don't think it ever will evolve into Empoleon but I wouldn't be completely shocked if it did either
     
    Nah its not gonna evolve. It is obvious. Piplup is way too "likable" for it to evolve. I wish Brock's Marshtomp would evolve into Swampert and would return with Brock. Now Swampert, he was really ignored. Nintendo hates Mudkip and its evolutions. Piplup has gotten a LOT of screen time. And why is it that the Fire starter(except for Typlosion and its evo. line) almost always gets most attention, Ash catches the grass type, and the water type is usually ignored.

    Annoying? What are you talking about? 'Tis cute. ;_; *shot*

    As much as I love seeing Jun's Empoleon, I highly doubt it. It just fits Dawn to perfectly at that stage.
     
    My guess is that in the near end before Dawn has to leave the group, Piplup just might evolve into prinplup...and Kenny's prinplup will evolve into Empoleon before that happens...it's just my own guess.....
     
    I would agree. My guess is that Piplup would stay at it's current state until DP is starting to end. I would expect it to evolve and eventually become a Empoleon.
     
    Naaah...I can't really see Piplup evolving. But who knows what the creators might do?
     
    Even though I would say it will not be evolving, all Pokemon without Stones have to evolve someday, so Piplup should evolve unless it becomes like Bulbasaur.

    So if they do evolve it, then it will only end up as Lapras did during the Orange Islands series. That's something to look forward to lol.
     
    I doubt Piplup will evolve. I find it highly annoying, yes, even with those Pom-poms >:
    It would be interesting if it did evolve. I think that it will evolve into Empoleon at the end of the D/P series as Dawn goes to another region, or something like that.

    I say, I don't care, so who knows when it evolve or not... :p
    (but I think it should evolve sumtime...)
