2nd Gen Will you be playing GSC again someday?

With all the updated and recent games, including Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver, if there was an opportunity to play the original Gold, Silver and Crystal games, would you take it?

Do you see yourself ever going back to the original Gen 2 games if say, they were available for Nintendo eShop? If so, would you change your gameplay from when you've played them before? If not, why not? Feel free to share any thoughts!

HECK YES I'd play them

I'd buy Crystal if I could, but since I can't currently, it's in my queue of pokémon games to play/replay. Soon TM

I might try to play through C as a challenge rather than just simple playthrough though.

I really hope they get a VC release, my copy of Crystal has had its internal battery run dry and without a new release, I might never play Gen 2 again, and with how good those games were, I would hope that isn't the case.

I would really love to play them If i were given a chance to do so Gen 2 is my favorite generation after all.

As long as it's Crystal, (not that I don't love the other games) but I loved the extra content. Suicune, Moving Sprites, Legendary themes.

I'll definitely be playing them again if they ever show up on VC! HeartGold is amazing, but Crystal just has a special place in my heart. I think it's just the notsalgica - from the music, to the characters, I think the games hold up well, even today. <33

When I was a kid I would beat Pokemon Crystal then immediately delete the file and start all over again. The funny thing is that I would catch the same guys and level up the same way. For w.e reason I just loved that game. I did that for no joke 5 years and probably beaten it 30 times. I would have played more but the battery died and I thought the game was broken so I sold it. But now I have the game and a gameboy advance player for Gcube so you better believe I'm playing it again.

I wish Generation II would come to the 3DS eShop at some point in the future-I would definitely purchase each of the three main series games from that era, just like I did with Red/Blue/Yellow last year.
Although I don't remember how I played through Gold and Crystal (having restarted new games on the latter multiple times), but I have thought that if I were to get a Virtual Console re-release of Silver, I would probably try to play it similarly to my playing of it in the early 2000s (since I played that version more than any other Gen. II game.)

Some people may not think so, but given the dying save battery issues with this generation, and the astronomically high prices of used copies of HeartGold and SoulSilver, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company would be doing us a great favor by re-releasing the original GBC Johto-based games for the 3DS family (never mind that some will jump on us and claim that the Switch is replacing the 3DS.)

Absolutely! Crystal was my first Pokémon game, and it remains my favorite. I still think that Nintendo should've remade it along with Gold and Silver. I sincerely hope they release the Generation II games on the eShop.

If they were on the eshop I would definitely play them! I still have my Crystal cartridge but I think it was having issues saving - it's been a while since I touched it. It's a pain to play on the GBA regardless - being able to play it on the eshop would be great. I was surprised they didn't release it during the 20th Anniversary celebrations tbh but I guess that was more focused on KantoKantoKanto

Ohh yes.

Gen 2 is the one I currently hold the most nostalgia for, and it's for the original games specifically - I've tried playing HeartGold, and there just wasn't quite the same spark there as I had for the original Gold. Not sure if it's because I was riding entirely on that nostalgia, or because it wasn't the exact game I liked playing. And then any attempts to play my Gold have been unsuccessful because the battery. So if they re-release GSC? The chance I'll get one of them is high.

Also, I never had a chance to try out Crystal. Give me the chance to do so, and I just might.
