Design an Ice Type: I've always thought an Ice/Fire - Type pokemon would be a really cool idea, two opposing elements are always cool when put together.

A 17 Year old guy who loves Smoochum, weird right? I honestly can't remember when I started liking Smoochum or why, but I love it. Jynx isn't bad but I have always felt sorry for it from the whole "Racial Stereotype" nonsense.

Welcome! Glad to have a new member :P You probably won't get added formally for a while, but the good ol' co-owner is still here to welcome you!

Pshaw! I was making plans on having a friend of mine give this thread some CPR :P Although, then again... if this club died... I'd just make a new one ^-^

Scuba, I don't think Smoochum is weird at all xD Jynx is one of my favorites to be honest. She's mysterious and misunderstood :P I've never been quite as fond as Smoochum though xD But, I'll have to admit that I noticed it in it's anime appearances :P Namely the one Pika short xD

The topic has been sitting for a while so I'll change it! Blizzard with a base of 120 attack is the most powerful Ice move that is readily available (I excluded Freeze Shock and Ice Burn). We all know of it's accuracy issue, but in hail that isn't really a problem. Most people, however, prefer to use Ice Beam because it is already readily accurate and has the second highest attack at 95. Which do you like better? Blizzard or Ice Beam?

Other factors to consider include appearance in the anime/manga, name, and weither or not you believe that Hail set-up is worth it to maintain a stable Blizzard. There are of course other factors, but these are the ones that I could think of xD Feel free to include you're own additional reasons that I have not included (maybe your favorite Pokemon only learns Blizzard or something :P).

Well I dont battle competetively at all so I dont know about those sort of stuffs. But in game I almost always use Ice Beam over Bliazzard because of pp and accuracy. I hate when moves miss It has to be one of the most annoying things in the game, thats including bidoof.

Blizzard is cool but I have always went with Ice beam since it has a higher hit chance and even though it is weaker it still does a good amount of damage and it has 5 more PP than Blizzard.

The sinnoh region is the pokemon game that I belive has had the best addition of ice types with a massive northern region where an ice type specialist would be in paradise.

I think I've got a good team moveset strategy going for an ice type elite four/champion, but Ice types realy stink in most competitive positions with way too many weaknesses and not enough resistances...

Well, now, I still think of Delibird as a penguin. Such a cute penguin. In fact, It's my number one ice type. CUTE. Yeah, I love christmas, reminds me of christmas and makes me feel all warm inside....cheezy.

I like the Piloswine Plushie better even though I like Swinub better as a Pokemon :x

Hmm...Yes it is...or when I saw them and compared them. Yeah, delibird isn't good in status, but I would LOVE to keep it as a helper or pet. Such cute dreams I got.

I've never been fan of those more doll like Plushies... I like them more fat and plump (and hairy) so the Sneasel doesn't have too much priority. Terrible quality pic, but it's a nice size and you can make out the details ^-^'

As for this topic, I describe them as elegant. Out of all pokemon types, they are elegant and remind me a lot of a smart survivor. Think of us humans surviving in the cold....we'd die since when we use the bathroom our skin could freezebite or such....

Personaly though Sinnoh was more deserving of a master ice type user. It has the most ice types of any region. For example a good E4 team would be:

Abomasnow, froslass, mamoswine, weavile, lapras and glaceon. This team has plenty of coverage for an ice type team which normaly has terrible coverage.

IMO, Glaceon should have a slightly more offensive with Sp. Atk set. Dig doesn't go too well since it's Attack is rather low. I suggest replacing it with Water Pulse to combat Fire weakness or Shadow Ball for type coverage. You might also want to add more Blizzards around those Pokemon you have since I see a hail team before my very sharp eyes. Blizzard+Hail fares better than Ice Beam, since Ice Beam still has a possibility of missing. Good luck on your team! If you need any help regarding hail teams, you can ask me since I've made one before. But I guess I might not be as up-to-date with the current BW metagame. xD But still LOVE ICE TYPES! :D

What is the best ice pokemon from a competetive battling point of view?
As I have no experience in this I'm go with........
Cloyster, based off previous conversations in this club, Cloyster seems pretty good with some 125 power moves and good defenses. I think froslass would be pretty good as well.

Frosslass and rotom (ice) are the best if you want to have atleast fair defensive coverage.

Ice is better paired with the water type pokemon. It covers their grass weakness and loads of coverage paired with high power STAB water moves. The only thing that can resist is water itself.

Mamoswine is definitely best imo... and not because it's in my sig. xD Mamoswine resists Hail AND Sandstorm; the latter of which is extremely popular. It's attack stat is massive and it has Ice Fang, Earthquake, and Stone Edge for type coverage. With it's adequete defenses, Mamoswine is a pretty tough Physical Sweeper :P

What is the best ice pokemon from a competetive battling point of view? It depends on your setup. A hail based team would be better off with something with snow cloak (like Froslass or Glaceon) while anything else would have Mamoswine or Cloyster.
Design an Ice Type: I always liked the idea of an Ice/Poison type pokemon (considering how poison is my second favorite type). Maybe some kind of dirty snowball (yellow snow is a no) that evolves into a stalagmite with poison "veins" frozen into it.

PS: I never liked how the ice (pokemon and places) felt like the directors went "Oops. Forgot the ice types. Lets stick them here." And we never saw them anywhere else (Sinnoh is the sole exception, and I LOVED IT!! :D).

I know.....they really don't appear anywhere unlike the others which are spread everywhere.....the poison veins sounds very interesting, would like to see that one day.

Well, I come from the North, and let me tell you it's a beauty to see the landscape coated in snow....and yes, I would love to see a vulpix or ninetails in snow since they would actually be some cute Ice types. Don't worry about the name, just update me when you want it changed or when you got it, you can change your pokemon's name anytime.
