Would you be a good moderator?

Tell me about why you would or would not be a good moderator for your section of choice, or elsewhere on the internet!

For current moderators, did you think you would be a good choice before you were promoted? Do you feel the same way now?

I can't answer this thread without sounding like im asking for it, but oh well.

I honestly think I'd be a great moderator, most likely for pokemon general gaming. I always report threads out of place and im active enough there.

Besides that, I think im very approachable and everything a mod should be.

Heavens, no... I was made a moderator on another site (without wanting the position, mind you) and really didn't do anything with it (besides lock one thread). I just think I'd be too lazy to perform my moderator duties along with regular forum activity... of course general members might like me as a mod since I'd be so laid back about everything :P

To be honest, I used to think I'd do a good job modding PT or OT or OC. But thinking about it now, I think the only things I'd be good at (especially with the latter) would be locking threads or deleting posts that are in the wrong place/are spam/etc. I'm uncreative when it comes to threads that others would enjoy @_@

However, I think if given the chance to Mod the Roleplay Corner, I'd do fine. I'd definitely want to help those struggling to make their own RP or join one or come up with an idea, as I've had those same issues myself and can sympathize with them.

Oh, and no matter where I'd be modded, I would be on rule-breaking signatures like a hawk :B

I'd be such a wonderful moderator, I'd get promoted to super moderator!

I always thought I'd be a good moderator when I became interested in the position, and when I became interested in smod, I thought I'd be a good smod as well. Luckily, I haven't let myself down!

Nope. Not at all. I wouldn't take a modding job first of all. If I was like, forced into the job for some strange hypothetical reason, I wouldn't do a good job simply because I never wanted it in the first place.

Plus I'm lazy and far too laid back so everyone would get away with so much.

I honestly think I probably would at least be decent. I do a good job of keeping up my own Pokemon club. And I tend to report posts that are out of place and what-not. I also enjoy hanging around Pokemon Trivia, as well, and would love to help maintain upkeep in that forum. I mean, it's one of the reasons why I come to this site. The least I could do is try to keep it good quality.

I wouldn't worry about that, this isn't a trap thread. I used to freak out about answering polls like this too for that very reason, but really it's just a fun OVP question that doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things, so nobody's going to think you're asking. Threads are far more interesting when people answer honestly anyway, so kudos to you!

So if anybody else was worried about answering this thread because of that, don't be. If you think you'd be an awesome moderator, don't be afraid to say so! :D

Approachable and Knowledgeable. That's what make me fit to be a moderator.

But the maintenance, the activeness and the commitments. I think I'll pass. -_-"

I still have a lot to learn before I could moderate. And my school commitments had been eating much of my time. So... @_@

Not really. I used to think I'd be a good one but I don't get on enough and I'd let my emotions get in the way.

I think I would be, probably in Other Clubs or Other Trivia, both were I'm active, also because I worked my way up from a mod to an assistant admin on a now non-existent Pokemon site.

I'm currently a Moderator in a now dead, but soon to be revived Pokemon ROM Hacking forums. I think I made a good mod there, as I was the one who corrected all spelling and grammatical errors made by the admin there, and I was the guy who set the rules as well.

But here in the PokeCommunity, if I were to be a Moderator, I think I'd be a friendly Mod, helping others start out, and when I lock a thread, I'll make sure to give a nice explanation for why I did so, especially for starters around the forums. :)

I wouldn't mind being one in a horrible forum where everyone is bad and is going to be banned anyway. It would be fun, especially if they dispute their ban. That would be amazing.

I'd be a great moderator. I'm very chill, rational, and objective. It's really hard to make me upset on the internet. Ahaha. I also have a massive amount of free time.

I feel slightly awkward posting in this thread~

Oh, I don't think I'd be a good mod. I really only do what I'm interested in. When I'm interested I totally invest myself into whatever it is- in this case a section- and do everything in my power to make it lively and fun and entertaining. However, I tend to get bored if my investments don't pay off or my ideas constantly get quashed by others. Also, my interests tend to jump around. I think if I were to be modded somewhere and something else suddenly caught my interest I would neglect the interactive bits of section management. I'd still take care of reports and things but I'd probably be less creative when it comes to upkeeping threads and activities.

    - Basically: I have a short attention span.

Although every time I've answered this question in the past, I think I've said that I would be a terrible moderator and promoting me would be a world-ending decision, apocalyptic consequences etc but I think as of late I've been a better member than the me of the past. I mean, I'm still lazy and in some posts it's clearly evident I don't know what the **** I'm talking about, but the me of today is faaaaaarrrrrr better than the extremely cliquey and ignorant me of 2009, no? I sound like I'm pleading my case to a jury, oops. Anyway, back to the threads question itself. Although I think I'd need a grace period, I think I'd be a good moderator once I knew what I was doing. Of course, the section I'd prefer to 'rule over' so to speak (Culture & Media) will most likely forever be taken by Jon and C&M in it's present state doesn't really need a second moderator, lol. But a girl can dream!!!!

i personally don't think that i'd be a good moderator, not because i'm pretty bad at modding itself, but because i'm pretty bad at being active. i was a mod at some forum once, and i'd say that i did a pretty fair job of banning spambots, moving threads and all that, but i suddenly just lost my thirst for being active in the community and, thus, i was unable to do my job properly (as it required me to be active).

I'd be a great moderator since I'm very active here, mostly in the Pokemon game and trivia sections.

Even most of my friends would congratulate me if such a thing were to happen.

I'm so active, so much that someone will recognize my talent.

I'm far too diffident to say I would and judge myself. I'm pretty lazy and lack motivation too, but I stay true to responsibilities, or so I've been told. idk really.
