Some champions had been strong some had been weak some are normal, what would you prefer for the next game?

Well, seeing as the Champion is pretty much your final hurdle to becoming the region's very best Pokemon trainer, I'd expect them to be a worthy challenge. A really strong trainer, maybe even Red level, to serve as the final battle would make me proud. If I win, it truly shows I'm worthy of the champion spot or something, that's what I want in a battle to decide who's the best, like no one ever was. A strong opponent who's there to test your skill, and see if you're fitting of the role.

I'd definitely like the Champion to be more of a challenge than more recent ones have been. (Diantha was the first Champion I ever fought where my Pokemon were overleveled; even without the Exp. Share and use of Amie that was the case.) Sure, they may pose as a humongous challenge to newer players, but I'd rather have their Pokemon be many levels over, have five-six flawless IVs (much like Cynthia's team), have good hold items (like the E4's and Iris's in Challenge Mode of BW2), and have the Champion's AI be plenty good. That being said, what I described may be better fit for Challenge Mode; regular mode would still make the Champion a challenge, but would likely tone down the intelligence of the AI, drop the held items (save for a Sitrus Berry or Mega Stone on the strongest Pokemon), and lower the levels. And of course, if they bring back Easy Mode the levels could be further reduced, making it easier for newer players.

I'd definitely want the Champ to be really strong. To present a real challenge for anyone who battles him. I always take training my Pokemon seriously in the games. and usually battle every gym leader with my Pokemon at least 10 levels higher than theirs (Sometimes even more). So yeah, IMO the Champ should have Pokemon who are at least 10 levels higher than the E4 Pokemon.

I say Cynthia is the best choice. She has pretty awesome Pokemons, she just needs higher levels on her Pokemons.

The champ should have some kind of strategy. I know that programming a good AI is a lot of work, but that shouldn't prevent the champ from being a real challenge. The best would be a ballanced team; I'd even accept him reading the players choices and adapt to them by using the best counter he has in that situation.
I know that sounds pretty cheap if you think about it, but considering that you'd probably still be able to overpower him with Pokemon on a much higher level should balance things out.

Another way: let the player have really low leveled Pokemon and give the champ really high leveled ones and for the most part that works, too.

I don't know about others, but personally, I really like how our difficulty is now; champions are not too strong, but they're not very weak, either. To get past them, you need some skills, but don't necessarily have to be an expert. For those who'd like to have more of a challenge or vice-versa, I think it'd be great if there were options for them in the introduction screen from get-go; that way, it'd be all up to them on how tough they want their gameplay to be. It would be a good idea to implement them in settings menu, but having access to change these stuff at will wouldn't be much fun. :(

I want the next champion to either be stronger than Cynthia or maybe at least on her level.

I was thoroughly disappointed with Diantha and how easy it was for me to take her down. I hardly batted an eye in her direction. Just made decent switches when it prompted me and proceeded to one hit KO most all of her Pokemon. Her Mega Gardevoir didn't even have a chance to act on me because I took it down next turn with an outspeeding Shadow Ball. Honestly I hated seeing what should have been her ultimate Pokemon go down like that in a swift single blow.

I had a lot of trouble doing that with Cynthia, and my Pokemon were EV trained. Her Pokemon were very powerful, varied, and pretty tricky. Like the Spiritomb with Embargo! That thing really messed me up in the final battle! Also I don't put Lance on Cynthia's level or even close to it honestly. His team is so heavily crippled by a fast Ice type that it's ridiculous. A champion shouldn't be monotype, ever. It's more fun to have variation and makes a lot more sense to me.

I'd say I want the next champion on Steven, Cynthia, Red level instead. Red's level difference from all the previous champions was necessary, but still insanely high. It made it a lot more fun to battle him in the end. If they don't plan on changing how easy it is to level right now (Audino, Exp Share's buff, etc.), then make the champion have Red's levels. Because we're bound to be up there already by the time we reach em.

I would want the Champion to be very strong. I, personally, would like if the Champions of the games were very high-leveled like Red and you actually had to work to get to the point where you could fight them.

I would like the Champion to NOT be Diantha. Blue, Lance and Cynthia are acceptable levels of difficulty. I'm also not really feeling the whole "let's give Champions high-leveled competitive teams to make them more challenging". If I want challenge, I'd rather wi-fi battle with a real person on the other end, instead of a cheating, luck-abusing AI. At the end of the day, Pokemon games are as challenging as you want them to be. I mean, you could stroll through the game with a Lv100 Mewtwo you got from a Trade and beat the Champion in 10 seconds. That wouldn't necessarily mean the Champion is weak, just that you are overpowered.

Champions have taken a noticeable dip in difficulty the past two generations. In future games, I'd like them to resemble the mold of Cynthia and Lance more than recent champions, because they had teams built with power and strategy in mind, which is primarily evident when losing to them, haha! Iris was the first champion that didn't require me to use an healing item during the battle, and the same goes for Alder. It's supposed to be the epitome of Pokemon battling; the toughest challenge of them all; the ultimate test of your Pokemon, but as of late, the champions haven't lived up to that. :[

I said around the Lance level cause Lance was the first ever Champion I took on and it was a real challenge, and I think in my mind I've mentally compared every Champion to him since. I think seeing someone as difficult as him would be great, especially if the ORAS Champion is Steven cause he strikes me as someone who'd be as competent as the likes of Lance/Cynthia, both of whom probably best represented their regions as Champions.

I just want them to kick my butt like Lance and Cynthia did! If they're as strong as them or stronger, so be it. :3

I mean, they're the strongest in the region. It's kind of in the job description to kick my butt, not just let me wipe the floor with them :P

I have a great idea. Maybe game freak has the fear of turning off the casual audience so they tone down the difficulty. How about if we just make different difficulties:

Easy - Fighting Wallace, Iris level of opponent
    Normal (Default) - The rest
    Hard - Lance, Cynthia level
    Very had - Red level
Extremely Hard - Full lv 100 and flawless synergy team with excellent moveset and held items.

This will apply to Gym leaders, Elite 4 or some major bosses depending on how much resource it takes. If it doesn't take that much resource for them to implement different difficulty settings for all enemy trainers, they can go ahead and do it to all. This way, casual audience can enjoy the game and story without pulling their hair out. People who are Pokemon Veterans can also enjoy a good challenge especially since before you beat the game, you don't have access to a lot of things, therefore, champion in Extremely hard difficulty will have an edge which makes the game very exciting for them.
