6th Gen X/Y Third Version Speculation Thread

Just thoughts: Spoiler alert

In the delta episode, when Zinnia talks about the current plan to warp the asteroid out of earth's orbit and into the unknown, Zinnia talks about the transferance to another timeline, where "there may be no infinity energy or mega evolution", as in to say that the asteroid will colide with hoenn from gen III. if this is true, then the plot of Z may have something to do with the 5th dimension (refer to this if you dont know about the 5th dimension

). it's not a coincidence that X represents life, as the X axis is associated with the 1st dimension, hence the theme of life, and Y is the signifying axis of the 2nd dimension (i dont want to put words in GF's mouth so i dont have anything to say on the death theme), so Z is the 3rd dimension, the dimension we are most familiar with, and i guess the earth thingy is supposed to represent that earth is 3D or something.

my theory is that since there is proof of a 5th dimension, maybe we will see new in-game stuff like entering into other people's games over wifi/wireless like in gen5?
maybe there is 2 more pokemon (maybe hoopa is time?) and a 5th dimension pokemon, probably tree themed as Hoopa represents a taros, which is representative of infinity/time, and often the 5th dimension is like a tree that branches out as each new timeline is created.
maybe there will be 2 more games following up Z like O (because taros) and some other letter? what if they are all introduced together as 3 separate games?

So, you think that the Pokémon universe might have multiple dimensions of time? That's an interesting thought, but I don't think that GameFreak will have to announce any new legendaries to make it happen since Hoopa can presumably warp things through space and time no matter how many dimensions time has.

So, what do you guys make of the information being discussed over in the 'Game Freak working on new game! To be announced soon!' thread? Do you think if might have to do with the next Pokémon set in Kalos? If not, then when do you think we'll start getting some info on them?

I do hope that this announcement is about the next Kalos game(s), but it IS possible that it could be something else entirely. ORAS has only been out for not quite 2 months, so it might be a little early for a new Pokemon announcement (despite Game Freak pumping out a game a year for a while now).

Also didn't the people who go over ORAS' code find data for two other games that aren't XYORAS. If so then they'll have to do X2Y2, Z and Delta Emerald, or Thunder Yellow/ Water Blue and Z.

Anyway, I really hope they release a third/sequal Kalos game this time rather than a kanto remake... totally waste of time.

It's as Jakeremix says. They found coding of the Pentagons which hint at the games being able to trade with two other games. Considering Zygarde has two unused/hidden in coding signature moves chances are that Zygarde will have two games like Kyurem did. I do recall GF saying that they'll like to try something different this time around for the next Kalos game (which practically confirms there will be one for those in doubt), so it may not be sequel either. I hope it'll be a prequel taking place in the same time as Gen I and Gen III's stories. The hotel could still exist plus the mine could be fully operational. Also the Corriway train could actually appear this time!
Chances though are that it'll take place 2-3 years ago as Sycamore's helpers said they were handed Pokedexes two years ago. They may not necessary be the main characters, but at least the rivals seeing how the rivals have had dexes of their own since the very start.

Actually a lot of things seem to point at a prequel, such as the mysterious evil team that was looking for Xerneas and Yvetal years ago. We may finally see where Xerneas and Yvetal were resting before Flare got them. Also conveniently the XY player barely moved into Kalos in XY so it's possible that the prequel's main character lived there before they moved in.

I doubt we'll see something like like XY 2 this gen (Probably next gen), so I'd rather just have a Pokemon Z. It'd be cool if it was a New Nintendo 3DS exclusive, but chances are it'll be like BW/BW2 with the DSi where some stuff is just improved on the New Nintendo 3DS.

We just got the first instalment for the 3DS so we'll see, most likely, an instalment for 2015 and 2016, then the New 3DS. I work at Gamestop and the anticipation is killing some of us employees xD.

I hope they also do a Pokemon Z, but with the way Pokemon is doing, and how it's selling... my bet is going for X2Y2. I would get them either way, though a pure 3rd like Crystal and Emerald is highly missed in my collection :-/

Someone once said that Zygarde's two hidden moves were designed to cover its weakness/vulnerability to the two Kalos legends. If you think about it, its Ground type can't hit Yveltal, and it's Dragon type can't hit Xerneas, so right now they totally pwn it.
With all of this said, it's hard to say if they'll split it into X2Y2, or just give it one big chance to shine in Z.

I'm with you breh. I'm sure a lot of Pokefans want Z, either way, I'm sure the "next" instalment is already done...

Another Gen I-II scenerio would be welcomed, perhaps a region based on England as it wouldn't be so big (unless if they include all of Britain).

I would like a Z version too. Where Zygarde stops and maybe even battles it's trio members with both it's (not yet officially revealed) signature moves. Knocking Yvetal out of the sky with Thousand Arrows and hitting Xerneas with Thousand Waves.

I don't think that GameFreak would use the extra processing power now available to them on the new system to such an extent that these games would be exclusive to the latest and greatest hardware. Odds are high, though, that they will run faster on newer devices, and, yes, we may see some device-exclusive content as an enhancement available to owners of New Nintendo 3DSes.

I want it on the New Nintendo 3DS because there could be a lot of enhancements (Ex. Graphics, lots of more content, make the characters as tall as they are in cut scenes, etc.). Not to mention, it could help with the New Nintendo 3DS' sales. I don't know many people who would want a NN3DS just for Xenoblade Chronicles, more, and I nuanced system performance. Like I said, the chances of it happening are slim and it seems more likely for just some minor stuff would be improved on the New 3DS, but if it did happen, I'd be happy.
Wait... Genius idea! How about we have it on both systems?

I think GF should save any New 3DS exclusives for next Gen or at least the 'third version' like they did with Gen II with the GB and GBC (Crystal was GBC only unlike the other two) and Sinnoh remakes.

Since the New 3DS will be, well...new, and XY didn't release until 2 1/2 years after the 3DS did, it's not likely that the next main series game will be exclusive to the New 3DS. I mean, we even had B2W2 released a year before then...

I really doubt that the next game will be New 3DS exclusive (also Nintendo that is a stupid ass name for it). The game is gonna run on the same engine as ORAS did, which doesn't need the enhanced capabilities of the N3DS. Xenoblade Chronicles, being a game originally from the Wii, does need those capabilities to run smoothly. So we''l have the next game on both systems.

Maybe some visual enhancements (better colors?), or maybe the ability to change the angle manually. Those kind of enhancements are possible. Other than that I don't see much use for it. Now next Gen is a different issue, especially if the next region is as big as the Backpacker hyped it up to be (if that is the next region). Perhaps next Gen will have Colosseum or Battle Revolution like graphics.
