I'm going to be blunt here and point out that only pretentious douchebags write MS with a $ sign.
You might as well just write $ony as they're much more profit oriented than Microsoft could ever hope to be. But I guess you fanboys wouldn't be able to tell with all your brown nosing.

You point being?
Write $ony if you want.

And OH NOES. HARSH WORDS!
I am going to run off to my mummy now and cry.

Skii, PS3 also has free online, inbuilt WiFi (no paying £60 just to connect like with 360) and blue tooth, which is useful if you want to just use a cheapo headset, because anything will connect. PS3 also has a far superior fan (albeit this isnt super important as you could always pay big bucks and have your 360 watercoo...oh wait ;])

This thread has gone downhill already.

The PC is the superior platform in my case. The ability to play with a mouse and keyboard and the huge amount of user created content (among other things) highly outweigh any potential advantages (as if) a console might have.
QFT. I prefer playing the PC over any console. The last console I played and really enjoyed (almost as much as the PC) was the PlayStation One.

Also, I have generally found that the PC gaming community is a lot friendlier compared to the hordes of idiots that I find on Xbox Live; I expect the PS3 community is the same.

No idiots blasting music over the mic..
lol wut. I always have to mute people because of that, especially on Halo. Ironically enough your theme is featuring Master Chief.

The PlayStation 3 is superior hardware, and I prefer the PS3 exclusives to the Xbox 360 exclusives. However, I hate Sony more than I hate Microsoft (though I'm not a fan of either). In the end, though, I am a PC gamer. Keyboard and mouse just controls better for me, and you can't really mod console content to any reasonable extent.

Statements like that are bound to make people turn over a new leaf and start contributing peacefully and sensibly. Good job.

Neither community is better than the others. While the 360 community is more vocal than the PS3 one, the PS3 community is capable of as much douchebaggery.

And lets not get started on the PC community.

That is what I was saying.

And lets not get started on the PC community.
I have always found people to be friendly whilst playing online on the PC.
I suppose it depends what games you're playing though.

It depends on the game, your level of skill, and the opponent's level of skill.

If you're better than them then you're hacking. If you're worse than them then you're a noob.

All of you need to grow the hell up and quit bickering over a gaming system. Seriously.

There's a reason this forum has issues with mature discussion and friendly debate and prime examples of that are spread throughout this thread to justify the point. :|

If another post in this thread is deemed over the line, I'm just going to lock it and be done with it until you all learn to grow up and quit acting like children (not going to happen).

Thanks to those of you willing to handle your points and reasons maturely.

As for myself, I'm a 360 guy for the simple fact that I own it. I've been considering buying a Playstation 3 for some time, but haven't found a real desire to rush out and get it. The game that's most influenced me to want to buy it would be Heavy Rain. I seriously can't see myself not being able to play it. :[ It looks way too good.

I'm going to be the lone sheep and say this, but as it stands right now, I going with "none." Most of the games I've played this generation just weren't that fun, with the notable exceptions of Mirror's Edge, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, and LittleBigPlanet (And games that I downloaded on XBLA Community Games). It just seems that most developers that develop for the 360 and PS3 are going for "teh epicness" rather than something that's actually enjoyable. This is all my opinion, of course.

That being said, I play PC games and I've been going back to my PS2 and Gamecube.

I said both to balance things out. c:
Also, I have actually started counting the number of Pokecommunity console war threads, and this is the eleventh.
Srsly.

I like them both consoles are very good, i like to have the two:D, but good I cannot. I believe that estaria a bit better the PS3 but I like the 2

I'm going to break down the strengths and weaknesses of each system, according to my own opinions.

PS3 strengths
:
1080p output capabilities
Blu-Ray player
Built-in WiFi
Free online capabilities
Ability to play/download games from the PSX and PS2
Bluetooth
Large hard drive

PS3 Weaknesses:
Cost Slim PS3 fixes this.
Smaller library of games than the XBox 360

XBox 360 strengths:
Larger library of games than the PS3
Cost

XBox 360 weaknesses:
Red Ring of Death
Dated technology
Must pay for online gaming
Went the HD DVD route, and it's a separate purchase at that

Needless to say, I bought a PS3. My favorite gaming device continues to be the PC, however.

Xbox 360: Somewhat better online community than the PS3, much more decent and better games to play, more events and downloads, can transfer XBL accounts from one system to another, uses achievements instead of trophies, allows you to change your username once it is first set, has lots of annoying people that play online, lets you make your own customisable avatar, can not access the internet, plays videos/music, and it generally gets downloads a day or so before it gets on the PS3. It also seems to crash and have much more problems than the PS3 such as RRoD.

PS3: Has only a few actual good games on it, is much more stable than the 360 is, cant transfer PSN accounts between systems, uses trophies instead of achievements, plays videos/music, seems to have much less annoying people playing online, only has a few set amount of profile pictures to choose from for your PSN account, does not allow you to change your username once it is set, can play blu-ray DVDs, and can access the internet.

Yes you can transfer PSNs onto other PS3s, Razer has used my PSN on his PS3 and vice versa., just thought I'd clear that up.

Klippy you have one really strong reason to buy PS3 that you forgot to mention. I have one :)

I don't know why people continue to "debate" this, I've yet to see someone change their stance on the argument to this day and it's just the same points over and over.

FFFFFFUUU THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DID. :D

Really? Oh wow I never knew that. I dont even know how to do that. -.- In that case, dont mind the sentence about not being able to transfer accounts in my post then.
