Welcome to one of the launch events for the PCL offseason! This is a throwback tournament to the XY OU metagame—not ORAS—that will play by the most recent ruleset XY OU had before the release of ORAS. Have fun!

Post "in" to sign up.
— Guidelines
• XY OU (NOT current OU)
• Single-elimination
• Best of one (complete one battle to win the match-up)
• Participants will be rounded off at the highest multiple of 4. Sign-ups that don't get in will be treated as substitutes.
• Each round will last 7 days
• Complete your battles on our battle server using the XY OU format. Preferably post the replay in this thread, or do so after the event has ended if you're worried about counterteaming.
• Poor sportsmanship can you get disqualified. These tournaments are for fun, and luck is a part of the game.
• Use the Clan Directory thread for identifying Pokemon Showdown usernames and time zones.
— Battle format rules
This tournament attempts to mirror XY OU as it existed before the dawn of ORAS. Thus, while much of Smogon's ORAS rules apply, there are key differences in the ruleset.
• ORAS Megas, Hoopa, Hoopa-Unbound, and Cosplay Pikachu (!!) are banned. Due to this tournament using the most recent rules for XY OU, Aegislash, Deoxys, Mega Mawile, etc. will remain banned.
• Baton Pass Clause and the ban on Gothitelle will remain intact.
• Greninja and Landorus-Incarnate are unbanned.
• Many Pokemon gained new movepool additions as a result of ORAS move tutors. Be sure to validate your team in the XY OU format on our battle server before you battle.
• Generation 2 and 5 starters with their hidden abilities are banned for this tournament. This means no Contrary Serperior or Sheer Force Feraligatr.
• Any other releases that happened after the release of ORAS cannot be used.
