Yokai Watch

I remember when I made a Yokai Watch thread and got very few responses. I guess that's to be expected in a Pokémon forum lol. I tried the first game on 3DS but I got annoyed with that terror time thing going off randomly. So I just traded it in. The orange cat yokai is cute though. Jibanyan?

I enjoyed the first game even if befriending Yo-kai is all dependent on RNG. (the capsule machine is even worse) I bought the second one as well, but it honestly didn't feel like it was much of improvement over the original. I would give the third game a shot just because it's a completely different setting (America!) and maybe they'll introduced some fresh new mechanics to keep it from getting stale. I know the series was reaching Pokemon levels of popularity when it was first released, but it's seems to have been dying down in the last year or so. (as is the norm with Level 5 series)

Yup it's Jibanyan. I just got into Yokai actually and so far I'm really liking it.

So far I'm only on the first one, I just started getting into YW, I have YW2;FS to play when I beat the first one. So far I'm liking it a lot. Hopefully they localize YW3.

I played through the first game, and I found it alright outside of how they blindside you with a certain something in lategame (I won't say what it is, though). While I played through most of the game with the Yo-kai you get from the story due to the RNG factor of befriending other ones. When I finally get around to clearing out my backlog of games a bit, I'll probably get around to buying the second game to see if it's any good compared to the first game.

I played the first Yokai Watch and it was really entertaining, though very difficult for me at times haha. Some of the yokai are so freakin cute and I really do adore Komasan especially! He is one of my favorites. Want to get Yokai Watch 2 at some point but I know I wouldn't play enough to justify buying, since I'm so busy. It's on my list though!! I do wonder why game review sites (IGN, GameSpot) etc rated it so poorly though?

Well, I'd say the harsh reviews come from the fact that the games feel more like an expansion than an actual sequel to the original. A lot of the same places, same characters, same Yo-kai, and no major changes. Plus, I think there's like 50 different re-skins (or versions) of Jibanyan. {XD} Saying that, if you enjoyed the first, you'll most likely enjoy the second.

I got the original Yokai Watch because it seemed interesting, but I never finished it. The main thing I disliked was the bathroom humour; seriously, some Yokai(ie. Fidgephant) are entirely based around this. ?_?

I might still restart it. I don't know.
