do you download your games or buy them in a store? also, do you pre-order? why or why not?

sun was the first one I downloaded, usually I go get them in a store as there's one pretty close to here and walking there is faster than the sluggish download time.

I obviously buy them from local store, cartridges are safest option in case the SD card doesn't work or any other fail-safe problems

I'll always buy physical copies of my game, I like having them as a collection and I feel like it's the better option. The only exception was with Moon which I downloaded from the eShop early because I apparently I have no patience to wait an extra 5 days.

Older games such as that of Yellow, I've found emulators for. Preferably on my phone.

As for newer games I'm alive and well enough to buy, I go to the nearest Gamestop to collect them. I do pre-order them, yes, especially when you receive a neat poster for pre-ordering both Sun and Moon C; That and I like to know there's always a copy waiting for me, unlike other times where I wasn't early enough to get the last copy at Wal-Mart.

Up until Moon, I bought them from Amazon. For Moon, I downloaded it, but for Sun, I will buy the actual cartridge so I can have them both in my 3DS at the same time.

I will always buy physical copies of games. For me, it is the safest option.

Pokemon Sun was the only game I pre-ordered.

I always buy the physical copies of the games, When i was a kid I had to save hard to get a Pokemon game (it's weird cause they seem cheap now) so I never had the chance to pre-order one, but as of ORAS I've pre-ordered the games and probably would have done with XY if it wasn't for the break from Pokemon I was on at the time.

I've always had physical copies, then the R4 came by and I've downloaded ROMS ever since. However, since a few months I've become increasingly interested in completing the Pokédex in every generation. Because I want this to be done as legally as possible, I've only bought physical copies since then.

I've never pre-ordered because the last time I played a Pokémon game when it just came out, my parents were still buying the games for me. I am two generations behind so that also won't be happening in the near future.

I prefer hard copies. I used to have most of the DS games on my R4, but I wanted them in cartridge form; especially the 5th gen ones. I recently acquired all of the 4th-6th gen games through various online shops. I've probably dropped more than $200 just buying these older games.

I have always went with the physical copies of the Pokemon games
This is the safest option atleast for me.

Bought my 3DS, Y and Omega Ruby all together in a Wal Mart May 2015. Then in January I downloaded Alpha Sapphire and Red. I feel fine with downloaded games, my 3DS hasnt given me any trouble and i've never had trouble with SD cards (knock on wood) . Sun and Moon I ordered together physical copies from Amazon.

Recently for the 3DS I buy my games, but then for the DS I downloaded them.

Also bought the Gen III games for my GBA.

I don't pre-order, and these are ones I will definitely buy physical copies of.

Not even sure why, I know for Sun and Moon I could have just easily bought a copy of both off the eshop instead of waiting to go out to buy a physical copy, but it just felt...off. I have nothing against buying games off the eshop, but it just didn't feel right to do so in this situation. Or maybe I would just rather buy a physical copy of a game regardless, unless I have no other choice. And since I could easily get a physical copy in this case (or theoretically easily, apparently the copies we got here were the last ones of each version in that particular store, hah), I went for that. :P
