Lerion Volran: Taking shelter among friends.

When the three Lycans made their way to the festival it didn't take long for them to draw attention, between their coloration, their lithe grace, and Lerion's size they were quite the eye catcher. The white Lycan crouched down a bit and folded his ears back, wishing for a moment that he had made himself smaller and more plain instead of showing his true self. Crowds were one thing, he had spent plenty of time in the human world with a lot of people around but attention was another thing, being stared at by so many reminded him of the way human girls used to react to his scent. His anxiety was of course nothing compared to Yami's, after spending so much time without many strangers around at once and possibly for other more complex reasons, he wasn't comfortable being there regardless. The boy was, however distracted from the conundrum when he felt the most familiar and reassuring presences he could at the time. There were too many scents to pick apart, and too many different emotions radiating to and from every direction to find them with his favorite senses. Of course it didn't take long to spot the trio of a werewolf that still had silky fur of such a pleasant shade of brown, a hooded guy sculpted from marble with the attention of swooning girls, and a three eyed yet still plenty handsome goofball on an ostrich.

Lerion turned back to Yami hiding in Luna's shadow and recalled some interesting things, he had read a lot of books with battles and sure most of them were fantasies but a large chunk of them said very similar things about battles. Yami, you're no stranger to battles are you? Well in a battle you have to focus on and do one thing at a time even while keeping track of the battles full scope right? This situation is more similar than you'd expect, don't soak it all in at once, take it one thing at a time. And what better place to start than a small group of people who I'm sure won't stand out any less than we do and will accept you guys just fine. Come, friends. Most of his words echoed through Yami and Luna's minds in English, but the last and most important word was in their own language, the only piece he had been able to learn so far by listening to them and reading their emotions before they had the necklaces. He felt any more words on the subject at that moment would be redundant, so he began to make a path towards his other friends.

However the Neko-girl fanclub already felt slighted that their dear Chris had been taken away from them, they weren't happy to see some overgrown mutt making his way towards the object of their obsession affections. They stopped in front of him and stood their ground, the apparent president of the fan club took a step forward and looked Lerion in the eyes. "Where are you supposed to be going mutt? Werewolves are one thing but you're practically a dog, besides it looks like you've already got your little pack, shouldn't you be off howling at the moon with them?"

Ladies please. He began to reply, taking a step back. This festival is supposed to be about showing our true selves and accepting each other, what's so wrong with a bunch of different Youkai hanging out here? Besides... I don't have any sort of problem with Nekos, I like cats.

"Yeah for dinner maybe." One of the girls in the background muttered.

The leader noticed him take a step back and realized he wasn't fighting back, she had the advantage, so she took another step forward and got right in his face. "All that may be true, but some creatures don't mix, run along scared little puppy and find a better way to spend your time.

Lerion began to shake when the girl got right in his face and crouched down even further, she was too close...He started to smell the copper like sickly-sweet stench of blood and hear the sounds of growls and tearing flesh, he froze in place, trapped within the memory that still had power over him after all this time. The girls stared at him and flung a few insults his way while he was locked in his current position, shaking like a scared child with his eyes glazed over. This continued on for a few more minutes until powerful waves of confused emotions knocked the Lycan out of his trance. Chris? He wasn't sure why but for the first time in he could remember in the past few years Lerion began to get angry, he bared his teeth in a vicious snarl and pushed his muzzle even closer to the girl's face before growling at the whole group. It's none of your business who anybody else spends their time with, especially at a time like this, so unless you want to spend some time with me yourselves in detention for getting in a fight during the festival, move. Out. Of. The. WAY

A small blast of TK pushed the group of girls and made them take a few steps back this time, the leader was knocked off balance by the sudden ferocity and fell right on her tush despite how light the power was. She was confused both by his change in temperament and by the feelings brought on by his scent, when he had snarled at her his aroma grew more intense amd she noticed the tinges of the forest in it, and cats tend to be fond of forests themselves. The girl got up quickly and announced to the rest of the little fan club that it wasn't worth the trouble and they scurried off. Lerion hustled back to Yami and Luna, hoping that they had been too concerned about Yami's anxiety to notice that. You're not the only person who doesn't too well in some fairly safe situations... I have no problem lending you a shoulder to lean on or a kick to get you going if I can expect the same. This time he made his way over towards his other friends for real, brushing his tail across Yami's shoulder in reciprocation for earlier as he started to walk.

"It just feels weird to be the one amongst others that can't change or hide their real forms whenever you want. I need to learn how."

And just what's so wrong with not being quite normal? The voice echoed through the minds of the three gathered friends. Are any of us normal? I mean I walk around with big white wolf ears even when I'm supposed to be in my disguise, we all like being around you because you don't judge us for our faults among other reasons, not so we can judge you for yours. The horse sized white wolf stopped sat with his friends a safe distance away from Milly and peered at them with his heterochromic eyes. He noticed his first friends was back into her female form and couldn't help being disappointed, he had hoped if she was in her true form he wouldn't have to be careful around her, since the flashback was tied to a human. Nice Ostrich by the way Sorae, you must have given it a lot of cookies if it's not afraid to be around me and Milly, I would have expected it to buck you off like an unbroken bronco by now. I brought an interesting pair you may have heard about the past week to meet you guys. He hoped they'd follow him, otherwise he'd be quite the fool, luckily everyone had surely notice them by then either way.

Sorae Kakori Jenai

Most of the things said now were whooshing by in a blur. Milly had left to change, Sorae hadn't spoken because he was making sure the ostrich was well [and giving it a cookie for listening to him], and locating an aspirin without anyone noticing and putting it in his pocket; and the three amazingly awesome wolves approached carefully. However, when Milly came back (who looked nothing short of good) Chris seemed- as he was before- more and more dejected. Add that in with Lerion's confrontation of some nekos, and Sorae was then a bit grumpy. Might need that aspirin sooner than later.

"It just feels weird to be the one amongst others that can't change or hide their real forms whenever you want. I need to learn how." He heard Chris say this, and it surprised him. Not the statement himself, but he felt almost like he thought that for those who had to bring out their youkai forms, it came easily.

Leaning on the ostrich's neck slightly, Sorae raised an eyebrow. "Consider it a blessing, Chris. By this time, you're probably used to your form, and changing it isn't really a problem yet considering that you're in a Youkai realm. C'mon man. It's actually better to have your form on default." He sighed, semi rolling off the ostrich and taking the aspirin then, locating a bottle of water and drinking a bit before it went down. "I only learned to perfectly summon years into my training for this form. I've stayed up late several times this week to learn how to summon correctly- this ostrich for example." He grunted. "Lerion, the only reason it behaves is because it's in a good mood today also because I gave it cookies and because I've practiced so much it only came out."

"In the end, it coming to you naturally is better than anything. My powers are generally unreliable unless I train like the end o' the world is around the corner, yeah?" He then returned to a happier mood. "But enough of remorse and depressing subjects and whatever, I'd like you two to meet- I mean, I don't remember if you met them maybe you did but if you did I forgot- Yami and Luna." He gestured towards the two Lycans behind Lerion. "These two are arbitrarily awesome, and if you have extra cookies that you don't want while I'm not around, these two should be the recipients. And on another note, since I've given such a long speech already I might as well." At this point, Sorae's hair had fallen to a bit past his shoulders, stopping near his armpits. He liked the way it fell- the headband was a bit restricting- but he had his reasons. Anyways, he opened his arms wide, grinning.

"We're here at the festival, and we're all friends here! What are we going to do? We can't just sit here like there's nothing to do; it's only the beginning of the day, after all."

Takumi Makkusu - Date Time

Out we go to the festival. I know it's only been a week since Solo's funeral, but I still can't help but feel happy. I wonder what Solo would do at a festival anyway. As I look around, I notice just about everyone don't look like...oh crap.

Everyone's in their Yokai form. What if they question why I'm still, well, human. I hope they don't figure it out. I'm sweating bullets here, & I'm trying to avoid everyone's gaze. I know some of my friends are understanding about me, but what of the rest of the student body, & Fairytale? Everyday, I live through danger, risking my life. I did die, but I lived. Who can say actually? I feel like a legend!

So anyway, time to figure out where to start first, "I suggest the games first!" I answer Nami, forgetting about the Yokai & to just have fun. "I'll let you decide which ones," I add.

Milly Kaiko

Milly giggled as the others jumped in on the conversation with Chris and nodded in agreement. "Exactly." She finally added at the end, keeping her hands on her hips but remained grinning. Though she wasn't quite use to having Lerion's voice in her head just yet. "Nothing to feel bad about. Plus if that is all you are worried about, it's an easy thing to learn and I am sure we can help you with that."

Milly then strode over to Lerion; well aware she was probably pushing the boundaries a little and reached up, having to go on her tip toes, to ruffle Lerion's white fur. "Nice moves back there by the way. Those kittens had it coming." She winked and then quickly stepped away, making sure the distance Lerion had originally given her was returned. She didn't want to push her luck with him too much. After all, they were finally getting use to being around one another and she didn't want to ruin that.

"We're here at the festival, and we're all friends here! What are we going to do? We can't just sit here like there's nothing to do; it's only the beginning of the day, after all."

Milly giggled and nodded in agreement before winking at Chris, trying to cheer him up. Sorae was right, they needed something to lighten the mood. "I vote food. I am starving. Skipped breakfast, but if you guys wanna go ahead and move to some of the stalls, I'll catch up with ya later. Just keep your phones on." She grinned then looked over to the two black wolves behind Lerion and waved, cocking her head to the side as she did so. They were quiet, fur as black as a crypt. It was kinda beautiful really. "Nice to meet you to by the way. Heard numerous whispers about you." She laughed, but didn't step forward, figuring if the pair wanted to approach they would on their own terms if they wanted to. Besides the pair seemed rather intense. But if Sorae and Lerion liked them, then Milly saw no reason why she wouldn't.

Glancing to the side, she elbowed Chris in the stomach lightly. "By the way. I didn't change because I felt like I had to, I changed because I wanted to. Trying to have a heart to heart in that form isn't exactly the easiest of things to do when you are over 6ft tall and covered with fur. So cheer up Chris, go play some games. Things aren't that bad plus you seem to have made some new friends." She finished this hushed sentence with a flashing grin towards Chris' new fan club, all of whom just sneered back. "They seem fun… To wind up I mean." She giggled.

Allister Curtis

Allister took Sorae's number and waved him goodbye
"Sounds like a plan I guess, see you then." He then quickly returned his attention to his distraught friend.
Sounds like something school won't like. Good.
"So Janie has still been screwing with you, and she stole you necklace?"

Allister felt his eyes narrow and his heart pump blood faster through his body. It was like fury had just exploded inside of him and was looking for a way out – and he felt like giving it one. He was beyond fed up with Janie targeting his friend and he was sick and tired of the ridiculous school not doing anything about it, not having a clue what was going on.

Allister stood up, almost knocking his dishes to the ground.
"Janie stole your necklace? Considering it won't do anything to protect her, I guess we'll go get it back. Don't suppose you know where I could find her?"

OOC: Yeah it's another terrible post... sorry.

"So Janie has still been screwing with you, and she stole you necklace?" Allister said after Sorae left and Cheryll nodded slightly wiping at her eyes. "Janie stole your necklace? Considering it won't do anything to protect her, I guess we'll go get it back. Don't suppose you know where I could find her?" Cheryll looked up to see Allister had stood up, his eyes narrowed and she knew he was angry.

"I'm sorry I kept it from you that she hasn't left me alone all week" she said tearfully in a small voice. She sniffled slightly as she stood up and gave her friend a brief hug. "she...she normally finds me outside the bathrooms near the library in the mornings" she admitted softly looking at her friend. "if she's not there then she's in the girls dorms"

Christian Davidson - Fairground

Chris smiled as his friends, in turn, tried to cheer him up with a pep talk (or 3). It was still very unusual to have Lerion's voice sounding off in his head, but he still took his words to heart. After all, what's more different than a wolf with a white pelt? Sorae's words also rang true...Chris may just have to continually practice and see if he could make the change himself. Practicing to get that ostrich was probably no easy feat, anyways, so you see the results of that philosophy. Then Milly told him the reason why she changed back, which made him feel a little better, but at her mention of his "new friends" Chris felt another lump of lead form in his stomach. He didn't want anyone else but Milly, but then again she didn't seem much interested in him, so what was the point?

He smiled as they finished and decided he had enough of hiding who he was. He did it pretty much all his life and now others were trying to pry his shell open. It was then that Chris decided to help them. With one hand he slid his hood off of his head revealing his head to everyone. He quickly looked from one to the other as he spoke, "Thanks everyone. I appreciate your kind words. Since today's the day everyone is supposed to show their real selves, it should be no different for me. Since I can't change my form at will, I'll do the next best thing: change my attitude."

It was then that he turned to the newcomers, which he now noticed that they had similar necklaces on. He smiled to them as he kinda waved at them, "Yami and Luna, was it? Pleasure meeting you both. Hope we get to hang out more as the days go on, huh?" It was then that his stomach growled at the world and decided it wouldn't wait anymore. Chris chuckled as it happened. "Sorry, y'all, but I gotta get something in my stomach. Haven't eaten all day. I'll catch up with you guys afterwards," he stated and placed a hand on Milly's shoulder. "I also got something to take care of right quick so it may be a few minutes," he said, "Keep in touch if anything happens." He gave a gentle squeeze of her shoulder and excused himself from the group, his head a little higher from this, and headed straight for the cafeteria.

"I would, but, see, wouldja look at the time?" Sagishi grinned, examining his wrist blankly and tapping at it as if there was a watch there. "We should get going, or else we'll miss out on all of the glorious sights at the festival!"

"You're really pushing this, you know."

Sagishi shone a cheeky grin as he shrugged his shoulders. "I don't quite see what you mean, mate."

"I... Just stop. Please."

Sagishi turned to Frio, reaching out a hand to (luckily) grab his roommate's shoulder. "Right, well, lead on, mate!"

Yvette smiled politely and said, "Just keep an eye on Frio." She giggled and waved, shooting me a devious look. I was glad to watch her leave and began to walk with the Mage in tow.

"You really saved me." I said gratefully, "Her and Elise tried to keep me locked in that room because of injuries, but they just don't understand that without continuous training and movement, the body becomes weak and all of the work you did will become undone." I nodded, "Yep, it's taken a lot of physical training to get strong, and they expect me to waste it because of a concussion? No way!" I walked aimlessly, until I realized I had forgotten where Eva would be. I also didn't know the layout of the school yet"Uh, I'm a bit lost, do you happen to have a map? And maybe the number of who we are trying to find?"

Nami Kyuuketsuki
Chapter 3: The spy of Fairytale.
Scoolgrounds

Nami catched Takumi staring at the Youkai that were currently walking around on the schoolgrounds and having fun. She honestly wanted to get in her Youkai form as well but was afraid to ruin her date with Takumi if she did that because Takumi claimed to be afraid of Youkai when they just entered this academy. It also would be better to stay in her human form because people wouldn't ask Takumi why he's in his human form if more students were in their human forms. Nami and a few others were the only ones to know that Takumi is actually human. There are a few who probably changed their minds during the battle with Solo last week when Takumi appeared to have gained the same powers as a Vampire but weaker. This only happened after Nami give him some of her blood to him so he was able to survive. She still didn't feel guilty for that, only for the fact that either the Vampire process or Ghoul process could possibly be started inside his body if Nami would do it on a daily basis.

"I suggest the games first!" Takumi replied to Nami. She glanced up at his happy face with a slight blush. It was really unusual to see Takumi so outgoing with her and so... well, cheerful. "I'll let you decide which ones," he added. Nami took a look around and soon saw a stand that looked like the ball-trow game in the human world. You had three changes to break the three small towers made of cans and if you won you got a price. This brought back nice memories to Nami from when she went to the fair with her class in junior high school.

"Let's try this one first." Nami said, pointing at the stand with the small towers made of cans with her index finger. Nami glanced at Takumi once again before shyly looking away and slowly attempting to hold his hand until she was really doing so. She could feel the warm of his hand and started blushing. "S-Shall we...?" She asked him, still not looking at him.

Luna
Wratherian Lycan
School grounds

As they arrived at the grounds were the festive activities were being held, Yami hid in Luna's shadow without even trying to go there. "(You change your mind easily you know...)" Luna said to him, a little bit chuckling. Lerion made his entrance and they got quite some stares. Luna decided that changing to her humanoid appearences was probably better for now since she didn't want to trouble the teacher if they ended up to show up. As she dropped her wolf-like body she slowly changed back into the black haired girl with emerald green eyes that was wearing a japanese school uniform. Luna looked around and saw they got even more stares after she changed back to her humanoid appearance. "(Stay in my shadow until I think it's safe... they keep staring weirdly at me...)" Luna whispered to Yami was still hiding. Most of the stares were from males and made Luna feel a little bit uncomfortable, as if she was about to be hunted down... in a very different way.

"Your kind of weird Lerio-" Luna searched for Lerion but soon noticed that he was gone. She scanned the grounds and found the boy she was searching for near some cat-like people. They seemed to be argueing and this became clear when the leader of the pack was pushed on the ground by some unknown force while the rest was being lightly pushed and seemed to be afraid of Lerion. He seemed so hostile so suddenly that Luna wondered what had happened between him and these cat-people. "(This place sure has a lot of unknown races... the teacher also had some weird smell to him.)" Luna said to Yami.

She took a few steps on the grounds and a group of boys appeared in front of her. "Hello there, cutie." One with brown her said to her. Luna only stared at him and didn't know what to do esspecially since they had surrounded her. "Would you consider being my date for this festival?" Another one asked her. "You'd do me a big favor." A blonde one added. "Thank you for your kind offer but no thank you." Luna refused them with a smile. She tried to leave their small circle but they wouldn't let her go. One of them pushed her accidentally in the chest in attempt to keep her there, something he shouldn't have done. Luna glared at him and the boy seemed to be panicking. "T-That was an accident! I swear!" he yelled. Luna glared some more until the boy would let her pass. Luna walked away with an annoyed look on her face.

Lerion Volran

One couldn't tell just from looking since a wolf's facial musculature doesn't allow for proper smiling, but Lerion was as happy as he'd ever been. He loved spending time with each of his friends, but when he could be with all of them at once he really felt true happiness, there's really no better way to explain it. Milly and Sorae gave Chris their own reassurances, and when Sorae explained his Ostrich's surprising composure the Lycan's right ear twitched with amusment. I knew you were spoiling it. His voice sounded off in his friend's head. When Milly walked over to him he had to force himself not to back up, with her back in her human form he wasn't quite as confident he could keep his head. Strangely enough, when her hand ran back and forth through his fur a bit he didn't freeze up, maybe it was because he had just gone through an episode already but whatever the reason it made him feel even better. When she mentioned that he had done good in the confrontation a bit of his pride boiled away and he looked down at the ground, he had been hoping nobody had noticed. "I suppose it was a bit too much to hope that nobody saw that...I wish they didn't have to be so mean, I like cats. My adopted human family had a cat."

It was only when Sorae attempted to properly introduce Yami and Luna to Chris and Milly that he noticed they hadn't followed him to the group yet, he had been so wrapped up with the others he hadn't checked on them yet. When he turned to see where they were he was met with the sight of Luna back in her human disguise and surrounded by a small circle of guys, and their stances weren't very friendly. Lerion stood all the way up and his fur bristled threateningly on his pelt, but before he really needed to do anything Luna shut the boys up with nothing but a chilling glare. He let his body relax and his fur flattened again as he sat back down, he had almost been itching to step in, guys he had no problem handling. Although Luna certainly didn't need his help he still felt the guys had gotten off too easy. The guys stared after Luna in silence for a few moments before giving back in to their own foolish nature and they began to whisper to each other.

"Holy crap dude...she's scary...wait does she even go to school here?"

"I don't know, but i'm glad she didn't do anything, we can't fight a girl. Whatever who needs that ska-" Before he could finish his sentence the brown-haired boy felt as if something hit his ankles and his back slammed onto the ground, but when he looked he didn't see anyone standing over him. When the blond boy bent down to pick him up he felt a similar sensation in his back and fell on top of his friend, knocking their temples together in the process. Their confusion only grew worse when they heard a voice they didn't recognize inside of their heads.

You asshats may as well be each other's dates, if you want a girl to feel anything but scorn for you then learn some damn manners.

The oversized white wolf that had been staring at the boys for the past couple of seconds turned away and left them to their confusion while he looked at the girl walking away from them. Things like that tend to happen when a girl who looks as good as you walks around, especially with one of your eyes covered by your hair the way it is, guys love that. Honestly it makes me glad Chris is so ripped, all the guys that might act the same way towards Milly are too afraid of getting on his bad side to even learn the hard way that she could whoop'em just fine herself. I'm sorry I wandered off like that, I wanted to introduce you and Yami to my first friends here but then I got...side tracked by those neko girls, I have a hard time dealing with women when they're that close to me, it's a long story. Are you alright? Don't worry once you get over here nobody else with bother you, or Yami for that matter, not with us around.

At Milly's mention of food Lerion realized it had been a smart move to hunt before going to see Yami and Luna earlier that morning, he wasn't exactly in the best style of dress to dine with his friends. "The way I eat when I'm like this isn't what I'd call appropriate for being in public, I left my clothes back in the forest and I can't just make them appear or disappear when I change like Yami and Luna seem to be able to, and nobody needs a naked boy sitting at a table, although I'm sure if I did those girls from earlier would change their opinions of me after one look." His throat made a rumbling noise that was clearly the closest thing he had to laughter as a wolf. "But I'd definitely go with you guys, we should get as much fun out of this festival as possible." Chris definitely seemed to have perked up since they had all given him their little pep talks but Lerion could still feel an incomprehensible muddle of emotions swirling out from him, and wasn't as surprised as he was disappointed when his friend excused himself with the claim he had something else besides just food to take care of.

"I'm up for whatever you guys are, I can't wait to see how Yami and Luna react to all the games and food here they've probably never seen or even heard of before."

I reappeared beside Luna, taking on a more Humanoid form as well. Watching the cluster of males flee, I glanced at Lerion and Luna. "First impressions... Are looking bleak at this moment." I crossed my arms, a glare darting clear across the fairgrounds to the now-distant group of boys. "Had they tried that in our world, they would no doubt have been beheaded." My head perked when I heard a female scream in the distance, and I looked around wildly for the cause. However, it didn't seem like anyone was in danger. This was puzzling. When I heard it again, I locked on immediately to the source. A girl was shouting, jumping and pointing at me, and once she say me staring, she ran off behind a booth. Confused, I looked to Lerion for an answer, though shook it off and headed toward something else that had caught my eye.

"Step right up, hit all the targets, win a prize! You there, foreign kids, come on over!" A man called, his cane pointed at me. Confused, I approached the booth. "Ay, there ya go, bud! Now, the rules are easy, see, there are fifteen targets, and you get twenty shots, if you hit all of 'em you win. You can use whatever you like, as long as you only take twenty shots."

"Seems... Simple enough. Would these suffice?" I pulled out a stack of small throwing knives, counted twenty, and put away the rest.

"Right, now, be sure to throw with th--AAH!!" The man shrieked like a girl and hid under the stand when I swung my hand out, sending a knife through each target's center in a flash. There was a long moment of silence, and I peeked over the counter at the man cowering under it.

"Excuse me... So I still have to use the last five, or--"

"No, you won, now grab a prize and get outta here!" The man semeed startled, and I just shrugged at it. Grabbing and storing my knives, I pulled one of the objects off of the wall that I assumed was the "prize".

I walked back to Lerion and Luna, staring in confusion at the prize. It was a small wolf dummy, obviously handmade, and soft. "I... Got this... Thing." I looked to Lerion, eyes questioning. "What do I do with it?"

Takumi Makkusu - Game Time

So she picks that game. I'm not that good at throwing... OK, you can do this man. You can get her a prize. I gotta win her a prize. What kind of a man am I if I don't win Nami a prize from the prize counter? A weak man, & I'm not weak! Anyone who picks on me will wish they hadn't! ...Enough of that.

I was so focused on the game I nearly forgot what was holding my hand. Nami was holding my hand. I shyly look away, the red taking over my face. "A-alright then," I quietly agree & head over to the stand. I pay up & get my three balls to throw. Time for throwing! Three balls, a tower stacked with three cans, & luck. Like I have any. Then again, I did survive that last battle. Lucky enough? Anyway, I throw my first ball, yet I miss on the first try. It's okay, I got two more chances. I throw my second ball with more concentration. I actually hit the tower of cans, but one still stands. One more chance. Just one more & I can get Nami a prize...

That can is my opponent, & I am its superior. Not one little can is gonna stand in the way of me & those prizes! "Haaaaagh!" I throw my last ball with force, And...

Miss. "Sigh..." I hunch my back with a look of grief. "Well, so much for that..." I need to win Nami a prize. If she wins one, what kind of a man I ask you? What?!

Lerion Volran: Baby Steps

First impressions are often misleading, investigation or extreme luck are usually the only ways to really learn anything. They're probably not bad people, just colossal idiots. Was all Lerion could think to say, as long as Yami was going to give the festival a chance he would just watch and help him and Luna have fun if he could. Of course he hoped they would all have fun, but this was the "Alien" Lycans' first real foray into the Academy, and he didn't want them to feel they should just stay in the forest forever. They're lucky all they got was a knock from each other's heads, I'm probably still just a stranger to Luna so I have no right to interfere anymore than that. His ear and tail twitched with amusement when he heard a squeal and saw a girl fleeing from Yami's sight, a habit he seemed to have picked up from watching his old human family's pet cat.

He didn't bother saying anything right away, he wanted to see if the girl would get the courage to approach Yami again, but before that could happen he wandered off towards one of the games. Well this should be entertaining. And it was. Before the man running the stand could even finish explaining everything Yami aced the game mid sentence, with throwing knives no less. Nice job! I doubt i could pull anything like that, I must say, you and Luna make me feel rather...plain. In a fitting coincidence Yami chose a small stuffed wolf as a prize, carried it back to them and stared at it before asking Lerion what to do with it. His ear and tail twitched once more as he replied. Well it's yours, do whatever you want with it. But I'm pretty sure people almost never keep them for themselves, they usually win it for someone else, either as a sign of friendship or a romantic token. I'd say to see about giving to that girl who was eyeing you earlier, but I don't need to enter your mind to know you're not looking for a girlfriend. By the way I think that girl screamed like that because she likes you and she's shy, you're pretty handsome in case you didn't notice.

Lerion started to look around and see if there was anything else in particular they might all do or eat, but then something that had been on his mind earlier came back to him. That reminds me...How do you guys make your clothes disappear and reappear like that? Are they just an illusion or can you summon and de-summon them or something? And...well...is there any chance you could teach me to do it? It would certainly make things more convenient.

Chapter II ― Part VI
"Settling In"

Festival
x
.

"... Here you go." I handed the thing to Luna. "It's useless to me unless there's a dagger inside of it, and I don't believe it's heavy enough." I looked to Lerion. "If you met the rest of my family, you wouldn't think me so attractive." I shrugged. "Not that it makes a difference. We don't look for physical traits when seeking mates. We follow our instincts to the right person, whomever it may be. We trust fate that we will find our mate when the time is right." I turned to look on to the booths. "I get no such feeling from this place."

In response to his question on clothing, I pondered it. It always came so naturally to us, we never once questioned how it happened, or why. "That's a good question..." I thought to myself quietly. "Well... It's only a disguise... But it is tangible. And we do interchange clothing..." After some more thought, I looked to Luna, then back to Lerion. "I think the most logical assumption that can be made is that wherever the tangible shape of our disguises goes when we take it away, the material of the clothing follows." I placed a hand on Lerion's shoulder. "You're far from plain. You're easily the largest wolf I've ever met. Not counting the ones who stand on two legs, but they were far from allies for us."

Sorae Kakori Jenai

When he asked that question, he had implied everyone would be together; contrarily, they all split as soon as the words came out of his mouth. The only ones left, it seemed, were Lerion, Yami, and Luna. Of course, this was fine with him, but he was expecting to be with everyone else. Regardless, he grinned, and scarfed his way threw a few cookies as everyone went their respective ways. As for him... well, honestly, he wasn't really hungry. Perhaps there was a summoning competition? His ears twitched when he heard Yami come back and ask Lerion about what a carnival prize was. He stifled a laugh, but soon realized he wasn't in the conversation- until Lerion came to ask a question... which he could not answer. "Well... um, I can't answer that, I don't really lose my clothing when I open my third eye, haha." He grinned. I'll be around. Wingee-" he said, referring to the Wingman/Wingee relationship he had kinda sorta imposed on Lerion, "-tell the others when I come back to call me using their phones. Or use your psychic powers to call me. I'm going to find out what this festival has to offer." He grinned as he hopped onto his ostrich and sped away.

It was until he found a competition labeled "World's Greatest Summoning Competition" where he stopped and looked. Obviously... this is Yasha oriented. However... can I really do a summoning competition? He looked on semi-nervously as he sat on the ostrich, thinking of what to do and scarfing through more cookies. "Good god..." His voiced droned away to a whisper as he dropped from his post on his ostrich. "...is this really a good idea?" He approached the fenced-off area, realizing there was two entrances: SPECTATORS and CHALLENGERS. This made him flustered, and his third eye was showing. Should he just close the eye, let the ostrich disappear, and go in as a spectator? Or should he have gone in as a challenger and try his luck?

His choice, sadly, was made for him, as he felt a firm grip on his shoulder. A upperclassman, burly Yasha grinned at him mockingly. "Poor little thing gonna test his luck?" He grinned smugly. "Well, he betta' know he gonna see hell today!"

Sorae glared at him. "Hell?" Suddenly, he felt a repulsive atmosphere from his guy. Almost as if there was no choice; there was an obligatory beating to be given. His serious face actually, somehow, matched the smugness of the grin the guy was giving him head-on. Cockiness overflowing, Sorae was partially acting; but he really wanted to kick this guy's a- I mean donkey. "I'll show you hell. You're gonna wish you had stayed in bed today, bigfoot." He simply walked into the challenger's corridor as the guy looked on astonished, pushing open a door saying registration.

A woman met him there. Not a yasha?! He thought, raising an eyebrow. Nevertheless, he quickly registered and continued to the main field- a large, sanded out area with a bunch of competitors already waiting. Seems like it hasn't started yet. Should get ready. Handed a number- #23- and having it smacked on his chest, Sorae walked over to the edge of the field, stretching. A female announcer called the rules over a loudspeaker, the noise deafening.

"Hello, and welcome to the third annual World's Greatest Summoning Competition! This competition was created to judge- and rank- the many great men of the Yasha specie in the school! There are five different ways to win! First!" She began calling off one after another, left and right.

"You are allowed to summon six things for the five categories. This can be anything. No joke! If you think it lives up to one of the possible prizes, you can do so!" Sorae continued to listen, until he came up with the five ways to win as she said it. Mentally, he listed them;

1) By having the most... adorable summoned creature.
2) By having the strongest creature.
3) By having the deadliest creature.
4) By having the creature with the most applause OR the one that is generally accepted to be the hardest out of all of them.
5) This is the judges's choice.

Afterwards, with this team, he could take the prize... or he could continue into a secondary round, where he could fight against other Yasha teams. The second round, honestly, sounded quite frightening. However, only if he won one of the categories would he be able to continue to the second round. This frightened him severely. How would they even judge that kind of thing, anyways? He spun around, thinking of this as his chance to slink off and escape, when he saw that the doors were locked. I don't have my bow and arrow... it's either humiliate or be humiliated. But this made him even more nervous. Finding that he- luckily- had brought a bottle of Youkarade with him [it's like Gatorade, but for Youkai- no one cares enough to sue], he swigged a good amount of it and put it on the ground next to him.

Watching all the different summoning techniques, he gulped and made a crossed-legged, sitting position as he held out coins in one hand, and clenched his thigh with the other. Okay, okay. So first, I should summon stuff I know I can do... Hm, an ostrich, a poison dart frog, um... This isn't as easy as I thought it would be! Dammit, peer pressure! He quickly summoned those two, appearing right in front of him. Crap, what now. He cringed slightly. Seal? He looked around. Others were burning through their summons, but one or two were having just as much trouble as he did. Leave it for last... He convinced himself.

Rather, as most of the teams finished, Sorae- as flustered as he was- thought about what would make sense. He began to sweat. The only thing I can summon right now, for certain, is that seal. But I could stay vague... He swigged the Youkarade as he thought. I know, I could do the Komodo... Quickly grinning, he summoned it and breathed heavily. Crap, that one took a lot out of me. Next... He gritted his teeth. I have no idea, honestly. I've got nothing. He glanced around, realizing many stares were on him. Only him and another challenger were left summoning.

Ah... um... cat! Quickly summoning a kitten, a soft plump fell into the grass next to him and began to lick it's paw. Good to see you, Meow... surprised you're still a kitten though. Not stopping to consider why- or how- this was possible, Sorae drank more of his Gatorade ripoff and finally accomplished to summon the seal, officially being the last one in the competition to finish. No, wait... He quickly turned to face the other Yasha that wasn't finished, and his eyes widened before he smirked. It's bigfoot! He grinned as he watched him suffer slowly. After looking at him trying to summon, but deciding one thing after the next wasn't good enough, his attention was called for by the panel of judges.

"Ahem... Mister Aremos..." Aremos, who was fidgeting as he realized what would happen next, stood. "You are disqualified due to a unanimous vote by the panel of judges. Pack your coins." A chorus of boos- towards the kid, sadly- emanated from the crowd. And as if stricken from the heavens, Aremos dropped to his knees. Sorae grinned internally. See you next time, sucker. But he looked about and quickly realized something. Wait a sec... showing him up was my point in coming here, sorta. Now I have no reason to... He looked up as the judging panel continued on.

"We now ask that each person comes onto the stage-" which seemed to have been there the entire time, a white, elevated platform that housed three judges and the announcer- "starting with number one, along with each of their summoned creatures." At 20, Sorae began to doubt himself. 21, contemplation of forfeit. 22, he was looking for exits.

"Contestant number 23..." Sorae gulped as he led his troupe of animals onto the stand.

And then, the judges simply adjusted their spectacles as the crowd stopped applauding at each animal showcased, now quiet with extreme anticipation as the final contestant was evaluated.

Nami Kyuuketsuki
Chapter 3: The spy of Fairytale.
Scoolgrounds

Nami still held Takumi's hand as they walked towards the stand that Nami mentioned. Takumi was blushing and Nami holding his hand was probably the reason for that. Nami found it cute and started to giggle a bit. She felt a bit more happier than a while ago but still felt a bit confused about the whole matter. Takumi said that he liked a girl and suddenly that girl turned out to be herself, it was just too good to be true. Maybe he was...?

"No no!" Nami shaked her head to get rid of the terrible thoughts. She didn't want her brain to mess with her right now, not when she was on a date with the boy that she loved. She took a glance at Takumi and saw how handsome he was. It wouldn't suprise her if there were more girls trying to get his attention, Nami also didn't know how Takumi would reply to them but she didn't want to think about all those things... she just wanted to be happy right now, together with Takumi. Nami leant against Takumi's arm and closed her eyes until they arrived at the stand.

Takumi bought three balls and started trowing. Nami watched carefully and chuckled when the first one was miss. It was getting interesting when he did hit the second one but the third one was also miss, meaning that he wasn't going to get a prize. "Well, so much for that..." Takumi sighed. Nami felt a bit bad for him and stood in front of him. "C'mon... cheer up, next time you'll do better." Nami tried to encourage him. "I'll try it now." Nami turned to the counter and paid for 3 balls as well. She was about to start to trow when she took a small peek at Takumi. He probably would feel even worse if Nami would get all three of them, that's why she was going to miss them all on purpose.

"Aww... Too bad..." Nami said as she turned back to Takumi. "See? I didn't even hit one..."

Luna
Wratherian Lycan
School grounds

Luna heard a voice inside her brain a few times. It was probably Lerion but Luna doubted for a second when he said that these kind of situations usually happen with girls as beautiful as her. Luna didn't feel flattered however. She wondered why these guys couldn't leave the girls alone. Girls aren't objects and she wasn't used to the fact that these guys seemed to pick girls on their appearence rather than her personality. In her world it would be the other way around.

Yami played a game with his knives and the men behind the counter seemed quite terrified as he send Yami away with something that was supposed to look like a wolf. Yami asked Lerion what he was supposed to do with it and Luna was wondering the same, although the little plush thing looked pretty cute. Lerion said that he should give it away and Yami almost immediately handed it to Luna with the words "... Here you go." after Lerion mentioned that he should give it to the girl who screamed after seeing him and then ran away. Luna stared at her as she held it in front of her and smiled at it after a while. It was definitely a cute creature. ("Thank you.")

Yami explained Lerion about how finding a partner goes in their world and Luna quietly listened. Luna never really thought of finding a partner in the first place. She was usually alone and hunting. She was simply too busy to think about her future like that.

Lerion Volran: Decisions decisions.

Lerion smiled inwardly when Yami gave Luna the prize, her own smile when she looked at it was satisfying. Then he listened silently to Yami's little explanation of how their world's inhabitants chose mates. Well, that's actually more similar to how most people choose their life partner's in this world than you'd expect from what I've heard. It's just a bit more complicated for most because their senses aren't always as strong in those areas, and very few are as instinctual as we Lycans are. The physical appearance is just something that draws people together in the first place so they have a chance to get to know each other and decide if they're compatible, since they can't just feel it like your people and maybe even my breed do. Some sort of evolutionary adaption to help bring about better offspring or something, there's and endless amount of debate on the subject of "Love" Personally I've never thought about my place in the whole thing. After a bit more thinking he continued, trying to keep the regret out of his voice because they certainly couldn't judge from his expression as a wolf. I don't plan on ever finding a mate, I'm...afraid of women if you can believe something so pathetic.

His ears stood at attention when Yami mentioned his theory about the status of their clothing when they changed. Y'know, that actually makes sense. Maybe it's some sort of pocket dimension or hammer space we just naturally have access too...I'll have to look into that. Then Yami surprised him by putting a hand on his shoulder and assuring him that he wasn't plain at all. Oh don't worry, I don't have low self esteem about being boring or anything, I was just trying to pay you a compliment. But I appreciate it nonetheless, kind words are always a boon. He surveyed around for a moment until he spotted another typical game for festivals, the hammer swing. Well if one beautiful girl in our little group already has an adorable plushie prize it seems like it would be downright shameful if the only other one didn't get one. Hold on just a moment while I test that interesting theory of Yami's.

Lerion stood up and faced towards the forest, he bunched up the powerful muscles in his legs, wriggled his haunches and burst into an astonishing spring towards the forest faster than any normal animal save a Cheetah which couldn't compare in stamina. Considering how close the Festival grounds were to the forest it was a short run, but an enlightening one when he made it to his clearing. He padded over to his folded school uniform, switched into his human "form" if you will, and dressed. Alright, moment of truth, because there's no way I'm taking a chance of flashing everyone at the festival. He made the disguise fade away and sure enough, the uniform was gone too. He summoned the disguise back, and he was still wearing the uniform. Holy crap, it works! What felt like only moments later the large white wolf that still really unnerved anyone it ran by at full speed stopped next to it's friends again. Yami, I think that theory of yours may have merit to it, watch. He switched again and the uniform was on just like he hoped. I just sort of never thought of it before, probably because the first time I ever changed was an accident, and I was quite undressed that time. Alright, on to business.

"Step up, win a prize! It's that easy folks, yessiree! Swing this here hammer and send the weight screaming into that bell at the top, simplest thing in the world if ya got the muscle, step right up!" The man almost looked surprised for a second when he saw how his next contestant towered over him, but then he noticed the boy was not only in his human form, his muscles were defined but they were far from hulkish. "Listen kid...you sure you want to do this now? Wouldn't you rather do it in your true form? This isn't quite the same as the human game, that weight is a lot heavier to compensate for the fact that creatures with real power will be playing.

The boy simply smiled, causing a few adoring sighs from some of the girls watching who had already noticed his wolf ears. "Yeah this way's better, paws aren't all that great for gripping a hammer."

"Oh, you're one of those types are ya? Don't see many of you, alright headmaster says each student's first try at any game is free so go ahead."

Lerion grabbed the hammer from the man and stepped up to the pad, smirking as he raised his tool of destruction prize-winning. "Don't worry, I may not have super strength or anything, but I'll do fine. Tight and compact as thrice-folded titanium muscle rippled along the boy's arms as he swung the hammer downward. Just a few inches before the hammer connected with the target Lerion made use of a new talent he learned of during some practice the past week and detonated a precise burst of TK right on the top of the hammer, propelling the bottom onto the target nearly twice as hard. The weight soared towards the bell beautifully, but it began to slow it's ascent further from the bell than he was comfortable with. Right when it seemed the weight seemed like it was about to stop the boy snapped in what seemed like frustration, and at the exact moment he snapped the weight rose a little bit more and smacked the bell.

The man running the game scratched his head but didn't question it, if the kid found a way to ring the bell there was no reason to call it cheating as long as he actually did it himself. Lerion looked at all the different prizes, and finally since Yami got a stuffed wolf he decided to grab a stuffed tiger as a sort of counterpart to the wolf. He swaggered confidently back to the little group and raised the Tiger into the air, he bet Milly would love it, he thought Tigers to be one of the worlds most beautiful animals.

Yorick Amherst Lee
Dorm > Festival

The sun was high in the sky over the boys' dorm, and more importantly over the great Youkai Festival being held on school grounds. The festival was filled with a myriad of students of all shapes and sizes who were enjoying themselves with games, friends, food, rides, competitions, and all sorts of other things. Not many students would miss out on such a thing, but among those that did were a pair of young men, roommates and friends. Luthas sat at their shared desk mulling over some investigation-related papers, whereas Yorick sat next to him trying to help however he could.

Luthas had been working on this, revising his notes and examining clues, since he got back at around 9:00. While occasionally he would say his current ideas out loud for Yorick to opine on, he otherwise didn't ask for any help from Yorick. The room had been silent for several minutes before Luthas spoke, but this time it wasn't about the investigation. "Yorick, my friend, why don't you attend the festival like your peers?"

Yorick knew about the festival and was even excited to see so many new things, but there were two reasons why he hadn't already gone. "You seem distressed in regards to this investigation and I figured that there might be a way I could help you. Furthermore, I...It bothers me that the rules stating that we are prohibited from showing our true forms should be lifted for the day. Rather, I believe what troubles me is the idea that rules can be changed on a whim."

Luthas put down the pencil he had been holding and turned to Yorick. "I see… Think of it this way. That rule still stands in regards to the rest of the school, for instance I would still be breaking the rules if I were to assume my true form right now. However, the festival grounds have been established as a special area that does not adhere to the same rules as the school, although it shares many of the same rules. Thus, the rules of the academy have not been altered, rather you will simply be in another place with different yet similar rules. Makes sense?" Yorick nodded in understanding, still bothered but substantially less so. "In regards to your first point, I don't think there is a way you can help me right now. Your expertise lies in finding clues, not in analyzing them. So it would be better for you to go enjoy yourself at the festival! I worked hard with the council to organize the event, and amazingly enough, everyone in the council managed to stay on the same page. It seems that things become questionable only when on the subject of Fairy Tale." Luthas grinned, but Yorick could tell that he was troubled by the last part.

It appeared that there was no longer any room for discussion, so Yorick said goodbye to Luthas and began making his way to the festival. Even from a distance, Yorick could clearly hear the commotion coming from the event. Excitement filled him anew and he began running. With his speed, the trip was very quick and soon he found himself at the edge of these "special grounds". This place was unlike the forest because here he would actually be seen by others while in his true form, but apparently this was a different place with different rules. All the many interesting things he had never seen before in the festival grounds helped it feel like it was truly a completely new place. Yorick took a deep breath before stepping past an unseen line into the festival. A moment later, dark fur coated his body and his face had elongated, dull teeth replaced by sharp ones. His already-defined muscles became larger and his legs contorted to include an extra joint. Luthas had gone out of his way to find a flexible material to create a uniform for Yorick with, so the wolf's clothes stretched to accommodate the new form.

Yorick began to wonder whether or not any of his friends had decided to come to the festival. Cheryll, Allister, Gavin, Terra, or Lerion… With so many people in one place, it would be difficult to track them by scent, so instead the gentleman Werewolf decided to simply look around for them.

"The girl's dorm is a great idea!" I exclaimed, "But I have no idea how to get there." I remembered what my sister said to do when lost, ask for directions. So I pulled aside a female students who happened to walk past and asked, "How do I get to the girl's dorm from here?"

She sized me up, and looked at me from head to toe. "Going to pick up your girlfriend?" She asked, eyes darting to my chest and arms.

"Well we are picking up a friend, but she's not my girlfriend." I replied nervously, I looked at Sagashi for help, but then I realized he wouldn't be able to see the plea in my eyes.

"Do you want one?" The girl said leaning in.

"Uh, no thanks, uh, I kind of just want directions right now..." I gently pushed her back a little.

"Well I'll cut you a deal." She said, "You get me a prize from that game over there, and I'll give you directions."

"You mean the High Striker?" I said, "Where I hit the thing and the metal things hits the bell?"

"Yep." I nodded and she pulled me toward it.

"Lets go Sagashi!" I called.

The guy standing there was chewing gum and looked annoyed. "Another show off? Well the rules are simple, take the hammer, hit the target. It ain't rocket science. These aren't the same strikers as in the human world, these are made with the increased strength of Youkai in mind."

I grabbed the hammer with one hand and dragged in front of the machine. It was about sixteen feet high, and the guy pushed a button which I assumed controlled the amount of force needed to hit the bell. I swung the hammer behind me using one arm, and then slammed it down, causing the metal thing to hit the bell.

"Good job kid." The guy said surprised, "Wanna try it off easy?"

"Do it!" The girl said.

"There are ten different settings for strength, I put yours on number one." He pressed another button, and nodded, "Why don't you try number five?"

I nodded and repeated my previous action. The bell flew up, slightly slower, but still rang the bell. "Can I get the prize now?" I asked. "This game is really easy..."

"Hold up kid, if you can hit the bell on the ten setting, I'll give you three prizes of your choice." He seemed surprised, but he pressed the button and looked at me, "If you hit the bell, you get three, if you don't you get none with this offer."

"Yea sure!" The girl said, seeming to be even more invasive of my personal space than before.

I sighed and nodded. "Am I allowed to use two hands?" I asked.

"Whatever kid." The guy said, "Swing the hammer, hit the bell." I noticed that a large crowd had gathered around to see the show.

I nodded and grabbed the hammer tight with both hands and raised it above my head. I slammed down, breaking the hammer in half on impact and making the bell ring loud. "Oops." I said embarrassed, "I am really sorry... But at least the machine didn't break!"

"Don't worry about it kid." He said in awe, "I... got more to use." He motioned to the stand where he kept stuffed animals, "Go ahead..."

The girl pulled me to the stand and pulled down a stuffed puppy. "That was amazing." She said, "Did you like cheat or something?"

I shook my head, "I dedicate almost all of my free time to training."

"It shows." She said, hugging her stuffed dog, "Who are ya going to give the other two to?"

I grabbed a stuffed cat and a stuffed fox. "I'll give the fox to my sister, and the cat to her friend."

The girl laughed, "Strong, generous, and kind?" She grabbed my shirt and dragged me away.

"Wait, we have to get my friend Sagashi, he can't see and it's his friend we are looking for." The girl nodded and I called, "Sagashi! Lets go, I found someone who will take us to the dorm!"
