The fact that I was just called today and told about a payment on my credit card that I had but hadn't paid and was past the due date (end of last month) made me want to make this thread. Have you yourself ever missed any bill payments or the like, whether they be credit card bills, housing bills or what have you? Or are you always remembering to stay on top of that? For me it had been a while so yeah, that happened.

All the time. My inbox is full of these messages until I can bounce back on my feet.

I never miss bill payments. I budget very carefully to ensure they get paid. The companies have a tendency to think I haven't paid yet though and continually send me messages until their systems realized I paid...

Ha this just happened to me! It's not that I don't have the money for it, it's that I didn't realize my internet isn't on autopay. Somehow my mom has made me responsible for our joint phone bill too even though we've agreed she'll pay it and I'll pay my half to her in a check, and she hates autopay so I have to watch it and remind her when it's due and have her pay it.

In Argentina, I used to pay two month's worth of some bills because that way I could forget about them for that long. Rent payments, I'd do them in the last available day. Everything else is on auto-pay so I don't need to actually remember.

Just do what I do: "The check is in the mail, yessiree."

I always pay on time, unless they fail to notify me of billing changes, which I battle tooth and nail to prove that their moronic actions have eaten up my time, and I am not paying some kind of phantom fee.

I don't really have many bills I have to pay, but when I do, I always need to be reminded :P

Nope. If anything, I might overpay XD My bank doesn't show that I've paid off credit card balance immediately, and it throws me off sometimes lol

I do this all the time. I just don't have the money to pay for these bills. A 2.5k hospital debt is weighing down my credit score AT THIS VERY SECOND.

In middle school we got bills for school trips and meals and i forgot to bring them to my parents all the time. Idk what happened so we never got penalized though (maybe it got added to another bill? idk).
