(I didn't see this thread title anywhere, so I hope I am not creating a dupe)

Who are some of your favorite actors and actresses? Why? Do you just like them for their acting skills or for out-of-character reasons as well? Feel free to discuss! :)

Um I don't if it's obvious, but I think my favorite actor is Chris Pratt......yeah maybe. Maybe also my biggest celeb crush too I don't know!

There is so many reason why I like Chris Pratt and I could write a whole book on why, but let's name only several reasons. He's basically the nicest celebrity ever. He's visited sick children in the hospital three times since he became known as Star-Lord. He's also nice to paparazzi and treats them with respect despite the fact they creep up on him and ask him a billion questions. One time he gave a TMZ guy some of the antelope jerky he made from the hunting trip he was on. He also actually takes time to answer the papi's questions and doesn't ignore them. He's one cute things like braiding an intern's hair during an interview.Besides being nice, he's really good looking. He's looks good when he's ripped and looks good when he's chubbier . (Like really damn.Swooning over here. ) (Personally I think he's better looking/cuter when chubby.)

Lastly, he's really funny! If you knew of him before Guardians of the Galaxy, then you probably know him as Andy Dwyer on the show Parks and Recreation. And there's many times where he's improvised really funny lines. For example.
    Spoiler:

And I swear he improvised this whole thing too. It's too good for it to be scripted.
    Spoiler:

Andy is basically the cutest man on the planet and I'd kill for a man like him. Both his looks and sweet, caring personality. Just give me a man that looks like Chris Pratt tbh ahaha.

Anyway, a lot of my other favorite actors/actress are from the Parks and Rec cast. Amy Poehler, Aziz Ansari, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Adam Scott, etc. Amy Poehler is an adorable ray of sunshine and get out of my face if you disagree. She's cute and funny! Aubrey Plaza is strange and awkward, but that is what makes her so cute. I love her deadpan style of comedy, especially when playing April on Parks and Rec. Aziz Ansari and Nick Offerman are also really funny. Like what Parks fan doesn't love Ron Swanson? Also people from the Friends , Scrubs and The Office cast like Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow,Zach Braff, Matt LeBlanc, Courtney Cox, John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, David Schwimmer, Steve Carell, Jenna Fischer, Mindy Kaling, etc.

Others include Seth Rogen, Chris Evans, James Franco,Emma Stone, Robert Downey Jr., Jennifer Lawrence, Will Ferrell,Scarlett Johansson, Jonah Hill, and Will Smith. Yeah I could go on, but let's stop there.

Let's see... Besides my celebrity crush Lupita Nyong'o.....

Robin Williams (RIP), more specifically his comical roles. However, I also think Steve Carell is very funny.

I also like more serious actors like Chuck Norris and Robert Downey, Jr.

For voice acting (if that counts) then.. Tom Kenny, Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, etc), Steve Blum [mostly due to his role as Guilmon], and James Earl Jones (Darth Vader and Mufasa, anyone?)

I forgot to mention Robin Williams on my list!! God bless that man , he was hilarious. Rest in peace to him. Lupita is so beautiful and wonderful!! I should of mentioned her and not go on a long rant on why I love Chris Pratt so much lol. (clearly I have a problem and obsession haha)

Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Joaquin Phoenix are my two favorite actors right now. Tom Cruise is my least favorite actor but even he turns in a good performance every once and a while.

Basically, Tom Hiddleston and Peter Capaldi I love them the most if anything. <3

Here's one reason why I love Peter. He's absolutely amazing, and to do something for a boy with autism like that is so sweet, you know? Not many people do things like that, especially not celebrities... so it really made me happy when he did this. <3

As for Tom Hiddleston well... just look at him. <3

OH YEAH ROBIN WILLIAMS. How could I forget him? D: He was clearly one of the best actors of all time, and I miss him so much... even now. </3

Bradley Cooper, Christian Bale, Henry Cavill, Kevin Spacey, Robin Williams, Leo, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Alan Rickman, Gary Oldman, Robert Downey Jr., etc, are/were some of my favorite actors, Emma Watson, Charlize Theron, Amy Adams, Jennifer Lawrence and others would be some of my favorite actresses. Bale/Cooper in a toss up would be my favorite actors at the moment, after seeing American Sniper recently and American Psycho for first time not too long ago. Plus Bale's in Terrance Malick's new movie, might have to check that one out.

Actors: Bradley Cooper, Peter Capaldi, Liam Neeson (if hes in a film I will watch it amazing acting skills), Benedict Cumberbatch, Woody Harrelson and of cause Robin Williams (one of the finest comedians)
Actresses: Jennifer Lawrence is my fave by a long distance but I also like Emma Watson, Lily Collins, Jenna Coleman, Amy Adams, Julianne Moore, Emma Stone

I hate everyone. lol jk Josh Hutcherson is probably my favorite actor. I think he really fits his characters and brings them to life, even in friggin Bridge to Terabithia. I don't like Anna Sophia Robb in that movie, but I think Josh, in a sense, saves it from being a complete trainwreck. And I don't think I need to comment on how much I love him as Peeta in the Hunger Games series. Aside from how well he does on the screen, I think he's a really nice and down to earth person. He seems like the kind of person I'd really like to hang out with. Can I get that wish, Josh? ;) I'll be waiting.

Morgan Freeman is great too. I feel like every role he gets, he hits out of the park. It could be in some shitty movie and he basically makes it. Even though I always know it's Morgan Freeman, I never get a very "ugh it's just him being him" vibe. He always makes a believable character when he's on the screen, no matter what. Whether he's Rawlins in Glory or that guy that gets shot in Catching Fire, he always works. And, again, a great person in general so that's just more points in the book.

Uhhhh ladies ladies ladies...well, I don't think I can get away without mentioning Jennifer Lawrence here. I guess I'm cliche for having her and Josh in this post, but, hey, I don't care! She's great and I look forward in seeing wherever she goes from here.

Ugh, I'm taking a freaking film class and yet I'm pressed for favorite actors and such. Sorry. lol

Who do I like. That's....tough for me to say. I guess I've always liked the work of the following actors; Jason Statham, Jean Claude Van Damme, Jim Cavizel, Robert Downey Jr, William Fichtner, Famke Janssen, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Michelle Fairley, Matt Smith, Liam Neeson and Ellen Page. I'm probably leaving out a lot of people, but oh well.

Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Robin Williams, Keanu Reeves, Orlando Bloom, Sean Bean, Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Zach Galifianakis, Sasha Baron Cohen, WIll Ferrel, John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson... Damn, Ima stop now.

Great actors. I've always enjoyed the films they're in.

shoutout to the entire cast of 'it's always sunny in Philadelphia' for being great at what they do

as for movies, Ralph Fiennes is and probably always will be my all-time favourite. He's a great actor, easily likable and very good with dark humour.

    also
Samuel L Jackson and Marlon Brando for their powerful presence
    Steve Buscemi for his awkwardness
    Willem Dafoe for his creepiness
John Travolta I like a lot but I can't say I'm a fan of the majority of movies he has starred in

I'm just gonna say it: Robin Williams wasn't all that great and I don't think half the people would have remembered him if he were still alive.

Anyway I don't have many actors I like, but tons of actresses.

    So let me begin

Angelina Jolie, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Lawrence (and that's because of her as an actress, not because she's oh-so-relatable), Viola Davis

God I'm sure there's more but that's all I've got right now.

I'm a huge nut for Bradley Cooper (minus American Sniper), Kaya Scodelario, Jason Bateman, Emma Stone, Katherine Heigl, Jack O'Connell, Ryan Gosling, Uzo Aduba and... so many more. Those are just the ones coming to mind immediately. Though, if I think of my favorite movies, tons more would flood out, but just for those parts, so maybe that isn't fair.

Hugo Weaving is the greatest to me. I love him in everything he's done, from the Matrix series as Agent Smith, to Elrond in the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit movies, to V from V for Vendetta, and even Red Skull in Captain America. He is brilliant. I love him.

I'm also a big fan of Leonardo DiCaprio, who I think was robbed from 3 different oscars. Tom Hanks and Harrison Ford are also my dudes.

Most of my favourite actors are all from Japanese Dramas: Yamashita Tomohisa, Kamenashi Kazuya, Matsumoto Jun, Yamada Ryosuke, Nakajima Yuto, Ikuta Toma, Suzuki Shogo, Matsuzaka Tori to name a few.

As for non Japanese, I don't watch much western stuff these days, but I want to say Bex Taylor-Klaus (from Arrow S2 and The Killing). We were friends back at film camp couple years back, so I love supporting her work to where she's gotten to today and where she'll keep going to.

Katharine Hepburn is my all-time favourite due to both her acting and her off-stage life. Her acting prowess speaks for itself, given her record-setting four Best Actress awards. I usually don't measure one's career in terms of Academy Awards, but given that she currently has no peer (male, female or otherwise) that equals her record, let alone surpasses it, I believe it is fair to say that she was the best actress of the 20th century. Her record still stands 30+ years after she set it and nearly 12 years after her death. The only person alive today who stands a chance of equalling her on an Academy level is Meryl Streep, another favourite of mine. But - her supremacy on my list extends to far more than just acting talent.
The word persona doesn't come to mind when speaking of her, as she simply was who she was. She'd actually admonish me for writing such praise, but oh well, she's dead. I consider myself a very independent, headstrong and highly opinionated woman, resolute in the face of judgement and able to say and do just as I damn well please. That is Ms Hepburn in a nutshell, though she'd think I'm being far too grandiose.
I could go on and on about the trailblazing and Spencer Tracy and so forth, but I'll cut it short here.

As for my other favourites, I'd have to go with: Kevin Spacey, Audrey Hepburn, Leonardo DiCaprio, Samuel L. Jackson, Ewan McGregor, Susan Sarandon, Kerry Washington, Faye Dunaway, Pam Grier, Bette Davis, Diane Keaton, Julianne Moore, Angelina Jolie, Idris Elba and Lisa Kudrow.

Scarlett Johanson, Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Chris Pratt, Patrick Stewart, Tom Hiddleston, Johnny Depp, Zoe Saldana, Bradly Cooper, Benicio del Toro, Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, Michael Douglas, Jeremy Irons, Chris Tucker, Nicolas Hoult, Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Sasha Baron Cohen, Ewen McGregor,, Samuel L. Jackson, Jennifer Lawrence... So many ;/
