Pokemon that are never used or talked about, but you feel they are cool and have potential.

For me, it would be either Tropius, Huntail/Gorebyss and Lanturn.

Maractus for me worked out to be a pretty good Leech Seed staller. Of course there are Pokemon that do it better, it's still fun to use Maractus.

Also Aurorus. I'm always advised not to use Hyper Beam, but same with Gardevoir, a Refrigerate (Pixilate for Gardevoir) boosted Hyper Beam is absolutely devastating.

I really like Torkoal. It may not be great design-wise, but it could make a pretty good battler if used correctly. One of my other favorites would be Sableye. With its Prankster ability, it's always able to be the first to strike hits when executing non-damaging attacks. Thanks to that, it could annoy any of your opponents almost instantly. Haha.

I don't know how obscure it'd be considered, but I've taken out the majority of the Elite Four out on multiple ocassions with a Butterfree. As an early game Bug type it has rightfully low base stats, but with decent speed and one of Sleep Powder, Stun Spore or Poisonpowder, it's very easy to get an advantage on your opponent.

The only two obscure Pokemon that I can actually recall using a significant amount in the recent past are Drifblim and Swanna (the latter because it was a shiny).

Lilligant is a big fave that I think is obscure. Most people think its frail and can't hit hard, but they haven't seen mine yet ;)

Froslass too. It's not used because it only works in Hail, plus it's not a popular Ice type choice. But ooh I had great fun with it in my hail team. x3

I don't understand why Sableye, Sigilyph, and Tangrowth are getting so much hate. I think they are adorable and they work well on the battlefield too.

Also the Vanillite line. They're so cute! And I actually like their designs.

Chinchou, it's so cute but I hardly see it getting any love. It was actually one of my fave 2nd Gen Pokemon as well. Plus, pretty much most middle-stage starters because people only seem to care about base forms and final forms.

I'm gonna mention a Pokémon I feel not enough people like: Druddigon. Some people hate it for its design similar to Garbodor and Vanilluxe, but others hate it for the fact that its stats don't stand out compared to pseudo-legends and such. I think its stats are more than feasible, usually enough to survive an average non-STAB'd super-effective hit. And it gets three pretty decent abilities, Sheer Force in particular which was made even better in BW2 with the Move Tutors there. It can be quite the thing to use in Trick Room.

I actually used one the very first time I played through White, but that was back when I didn't really know what I was doing. :P
