What is your favourite Pokémon game on the switch and why?

SwSh is still the one I enjoyed the most. Though I think I'd enjoy PLA more if I weren't an idiot who's going for a perfect dex, which is very grindy xD

BDSP & SV are solid and enjoyable games. Let's Go is more of a play once and done game. Though I did feel an urge to play it again when I was in it for a challenge.
Haven't played the Switch PMD game yet.

Of course PLA. It was a totally new and fresh project, with an interesting story and some very cool parts. Sword and Shield come second. Unfortunately, I haven't found Violet interesting enough. Actually, I never did. I have never felt very hyped since its first trailer, then played it and it was alright, now I completely lack of motivation to keep playing it to finish the DLC.

PLA is my favourite of all time and it's on the Switch so yeah. But my absolute leasf favourite… content in the franchise is the first wave of DLC for Gen8. Seriosuly I don't understand how I've heard SnS is considered unplayable without it's DLC. Isle of stupidity was sickening. But PLA was extremely good where I was excited to see them try something new and I was so glad it lived up to the hype.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons, obviously. Since I can use custom designs to dress my villager up like trainers such as Leaf and Serena, it totally counts as a Pokemon game (j/k, but I enjoyed ACNH much more than any of the actual Pokemon games lol oof)

I've only bought Shield and Shining Pearl, and of the two of them, Shining Pearl didn't have characters that royally pissed me off, so I guess I'll go with that game.

The other Switch Pokemon games don't interest me in the least, so I'll never be buying them.

I really enjoy SwSh, mostly for the character customization. I feel the lack of clothing choices in SV hurts it a bit. Like, the uniforms make SENSE, but I don't see why your PC would be wearing them everywhere. I like changing my clothes to fit the environment/mood I'm in.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus is many favorite entry on the Switch. It took 8 previous generations of predictability and turned it on its head. It has the following and does them really well:
    • Open world mechanics expanding upon Sword & Shield
    • Pokémon mounts that are genuinely fun to use and aren't just HM stand-ins
    • Crafting
    • Stealth expanding upon what we experienced with the Gen 6 PokéRadar
    • Dodge-rolling around hostile Pokémon
    • Fun scavenger hunts
    • Quests like in a JRPG or MMO
    • Live action & turn based boss fights
    • Outfit customization almost on par with the Gen 6 games
    • Home decoration à la your room in G/S or your secret base in R/S/E
    • The best move pool management in any Pokémon game I have played (I missed Gen 5)
Overall it feels very different from the standard Pokémon mainline series game play loop and I really loved that. It emphasized exploration in 3 dimensions in ways nothing in the series has replicated. Of course it has shortcomings in plot, multiplayer features, and lots of other QOL features in previous games, but overall it's a breath of fresh air.

I see a lot of love for PLA which I am very happy about. a lot of people around me have had nothing but complaints, so I'm glad to see people enjoying it. My favorite on the switch is actually Scarlet. I love the large pokedex and exploration, I enjoy the Idea of paradox pokemon (Roaring Moon and Slither Wing being my favorites) and while I didn't like terastallizing, it has grown on me as of recent. I love the store of the DLC's as well, especially Ogerpon. I think its a cool and versitile pokemon and have enjoyed using it.

Haven't played SV yet, but Legends Arceus had me sinking more hours into it compared to the franchises other switch games. It was a breath of fresh air in terms of game mechanics and the historical setting. It also felt more like a traditional Pokemon trying something new rather than a spinoff

Reluctantly says SWSH. Easier to multitask while playing and don't get me drunk while trying to get in some steps. Ignoring Marks, they're also the only games to indicate (albeit incorrectly in some cases) when a Shiny is of the rarer variety, which feels more rewarding since Gen. VI's Shiny boost. I did prefer SV's story and characters, but the minuscule overworld encounters really let it down for me.

I haven't played Let's Go or BDSP, but I feel I'd still lean more into SWSH since I can already Shiny-hunt all the Pokémon that occur in those games on my non-Switch games. The only real perk they'd have is being able to transfer to SWSH for "Glistening check" (the ones that could be transferred, anyway) without having to purchase a HOME premium plan.

New Snap was also good but nearly impossible to 100% on your own, even with the in-game hints. Also another that's difficult to play while multitasking/on the move.

Mystery Dungeon and Let's go are mine

    - Mystery Dungeons type games are just a nice addition to the regular versions. They also tend to be a lot harder, too.
    - While the Let's go games are rather empty in their functions, the overworld mons and a trip down nostalgia with 3d visuals has a nice tough.

I never played SV because idk, but I want to. I also never played PLA, Mystery Dungeon, or BDSP. I played Let's Go and that stunk for me. I sold Let's Go. I only have Sword and Pokken, I'm replaying both because when I lent my Switch to my brother, he erased a LOT of my data. Idk how to feel on those, especially since I haven't played any other Pokemon related Switch games. My Pokemon obsessed friend keeps telling me to get Violet since he has Scarlet so....i'm not voting.

I love Mystery Dungeon as a whole, but Pokemon Snap is also a lot of fun, I'm playing it through for the first time currently. SwSh are the only games I actively disliked on Switch so far, I never even finished the main storyline before I gave up on it :(
