What is your go to pokemon? What pokemon always comes through for you in the end? Tell your story of why that pokemon is trustworthy. Mine is my Charizard. I got it from a person I met here on PC, and it is great. I just let it level it up regularly (no ev training). It is sooo clutch. In battle spot, my lead was destroyed by his lead. Then I sent in another pokemon. It got destroyed. I got a little bit of damage on it, though. My charizard comes in and beats his gardevoir, then something else. Lastly, his mega blaziken comes in. I use fly and get him down to where I can faint him with another. He high jump kicks and leaves my charizard at 3 hp! I flew and won the match. I had another match (regular wifi battle). And was down 4 to 1, my last pokemon being charizard. I won again barely. If I didn't faint his mawhile when it switched in, I would had faint. It was baton passed in with like +5 speed. My charizard is awesome! So, what pokemon can you rely on to win the match?

I don't really have a specific one in every game, but I tend to almost always use Umbreon when it's available. I lost count of how many times I've used one in GSC. I never made a rental team in Stadium 2 without it. I always keep it in Colosseum (though I sometimes ditch Espeon), I use it in Gale of Darkness even though you get one in Colosseum...so you'd think I wouldn't wanna use it again lol. I used one my first time playing Platinum and Black 2. I actually didn't use one in X, but that's because with new gens, I use a team of all new Pokemon. But I had Sylveon. Close enough? :)

But yeah. Basically, I've used Umbreon more times than I can count and I never get tired of it. I know most people would be like "ugh how do you tolerate in-game umbreon jdofkad" but hey, you'll tolerate anything when it comes to your favorite Pokemon. :)

I don't often stay with a single team for long, so it's kind of hard to pick one Pokemon, but I'd definitely have to say Staraptor is up there at the top. On two of my Nuzlockes I was fortunate enough to run into a member of the Starly family. Staraptor has pretty good coverage with Close Combat, has a handy ability in Intimidate, and it can fly, which is good to have in-game haha. Unfortunately neither of my Staraptors made it out of the Nuzlockes alive, but regardless, I wouldn't have made it as far as I did without them.

I've trained a Crobat in nearly every availability-permitting, casual, non-challenge Pokémon playthrough since Crystal. I'm just infatuated with how cool this thing is. Even through the various nerfs and buffs he's gotten throughout the generations, I find ways to use it. :D

Even if it isn't the most powerful or the best Pokemon, I've always relied on Butterfree when available since the 4th gen games. As long as it has good speed and CompoundEyes as its ability, I make good use of Sleep Powder to take out my opponents. Sure, it might be considered a cheap strategy in competitive battles, but I have no problem using it in game to take down much stronger Pokemon.

And while it doesn't seem to be a go-to Pokemon for me, I've just realized that I've had a Lucario in my party in Platinum, White 2 and now Y. It's never one of my feature Pokemon, but it must be good enough to keep finding its way there.

At the middle of the game I pretty much have the team I'll stick with until the end. I tried the Elite4 and destroyed them flawless in a first attempt (I was disappointed). I finished the game with: Scyther, Ninjask, Greninja, Venusaur, Blaziken, Gengar.

I sort of agree with the Butterfree sentiment. Every game it's in, I gotta keep it on me at least for a little while. There's a reason it's my favorite Bug type (I don't have a sig pic of it for nothing). I'm making an effort this time to see Butterfree through until the end, or should I say the Elite Four.

I have some ties to Nidoqueen because of Silver, but then again I've had some ties to a lot of the Pokemon I call favorites because of Silver (or earlier). Problem is, I can't count the earlier games Blue and Yellow too much, because back then I just tried to mimic the anime, so there wasn't much personal about my teams.

Because my top favorite Pokemon are Nidorina and Vulpix, I try to have them on me as long as possible. Nidorina's a VIP, so while she might get boxed every now and then (I've never had a larger rotation of Pokemon as I do in Pokemon Y), she's usually front and center for major events, and has priority to starters. She's always the highest level Pokemon, too, meaning she essentially just eats away the in-game competition, just as if I was playing a trump card. She's always first to enter the Hall of Fame, as well. No exceptions... well, unless she's not obtainable before that point.

As for Vulpix, I enjoyed having it on me in Silver more than I should have, but now it's legit what with having Drought and Heat Wave to go alongside it. She's the strongest among what I consider the "Kids' team" (long, long story don't worry about it), it's just funny in my head to think of Vulpix as being the savior among elementary school aged Pokemon. :P

    I guess I should also mention that the Pokemon sets I rotate are themed like that. n.n;

Just like Sheep above me, my Mienshao is the Pokemon I rely on the most, it always helps out at the end, with Aura Sphere, High Jump Kick, Detect, and Acrobatics. In game (this part won't help in WiFi), she has Max Affection
    Spoiler:

Anytime Eevee is an option, I will nearly always get an Espeon. It's been that way since I first accidentally evolved my Eevee into one while trying to get Umbreon. I decided to go with it and it saved my butt in many battles and I even managed to nearly sweep the E4 with him.

Crobat has always been my go-to Pokémon. It's always been there to get me out of tough spots. It was also on rod the first few Pokémon that i trained to lvl 100

I have to concur with Sheep and Weasel about Mienshao. You can't go wrong with that Pokemon! If you want a powerhouse in your team and you're running out of options, consider adding Mienshao in your team. I've always relied on it so much on the E4 as well as other battles I'm in, as well as during UU battles. (Choice Scarfed Mienshao for da wiiin).

While I plan my teams in advance when I plan on restarting one or several games with the intention of not having a go-to Pokémon, some Pokémon still stood out to me.

In particular, the one family I like a lot when it comes to performance is the Ralts/Kirlia/Gardevoir/Gallade family. The stats of the fully evolved forms are quite decent, and a few TMs are enough to turn then into effective killing KOing machines.

Prior to Gen 6, I usually chose Gallade because it's a double type, but this generation, due to becomig part-fairy, Gardevoir became an interesting choice again for me.

For me, it's gotta be Skarmory. I've always had one of these Pokémon on my team since generation four, and was never disappointed by it. Its Defense is quite heavy, so it's able to withstand countless amount of physical attacks for you without any sort of issues. Plus, with access to Roost, it's always able to keep itself healthy. Another thing is that Skarmory could use Brave Bird, which is quite a powerful attack. With this, it should be able to take down almost any of your opponent's Pokémon instantly. :p

Wow! It's mostly flying and fighting types it seams. I was expecting slightly different answers, but I like it. I also rely on my Vivillon a lot.

Go to pokemon eh? I guess if the game isn't being restrictive, I normally would always pick a Jolteon and a Lapras.. I go pretty far with those guys, so perhaps it's a bit nostalga more than anything.. I had the opportunity to use them in Black2 together again, and it was just so amazing. Jolteon murdering everything, Lapras sponging hits in it's place. They're a pretty fearsome combo.. but not the greatest.. Mostly because of Lapras's Ice typing.

Erm... I think mine is probably Jolteon. I switch to it a lot. Probably because it is fast and powerful — but also cute!! In addition, it has Volt Switch so I can move out to another Pokemon if need be.

You know, I've never really had a Pokemon I've always stuck with. However there are a ton of Pokemon that I tend to use over and over in the Advanced Generation Gaming such as:
    -Pidgeot
    -Alakazam
    -Gardevoir
    -Swellow
    -Manectric
    -Gyrados
