Hey bro Im facing the exact same problems with my wilting y romhack!!
I played it and there are cherish balls for sale and a torchic on route 1, however everything else about the game has been unmodded. I'm currently at the part of the game where you wake up snorlax and the ONLY changes from the original game I've seen is the Torchic on route 1 and cherish balls like I mentioned, and also the starter prof. sycamore gives you is holding an eviolite.
EVERYTHING else has been unchanged. No different encounters on any of the routes, Viola's battle staying the exact same, the trainer battles all using the same Pokemon, same as the original game. Doesn't have the changed gym leader teams like the romhack is supposed to have
