Charmander when I have the chance. Always- no exceptions.
In Sapphire and Emerald, I chose Mudkip though. To me, it just feels like the superior and more likable starter.
Maybe I'm missing something, but wasn't there already a Pokemon Grey? I mean I doubt Game Freak will try to market a game as "Grey version" as opposed to a more regal-sounding name like... Platinum... Or Silver... Or SoulSilver...
I always liked hold items. As far as casual play is concerned, finding the right item for the right Pokemon (eg Bullet Seed for a grass pokemon) positively added to gameplay. Your team felt more complete if they each were holding an appropriate item.
However, I have never used berries as...
I wonder if the Hoenn remake will in fact be a part of a new game entirely, ala G/S/C and the Johto-Kanto relationship. The Hoenn region will simply be the latter half of the game.
To me, that sounds appealing.
Zubat and Tentacool are a given.
I'll tell you what irks me, though. By far the most annoying Pokemon in Gen IV was Bronzor. For the longest time I could not figure out how to deal with it. Regardless, by that time I'd be asleep and confused anyway. :cer_shifty:

I just got Pokemon Black!
1) What should my starter be? I'm looking for one that has a fine touch for getting poke's in the red for catching (^name). Do any starters cast PAR, SLE, or FRZ?
2) How soon can I trade previous gen poke's onto Black (or Poketransfer/PalPark them, you know what I...
There's something special about Gen I simply because they are archaic. Compared to today they're minimalistic and primitive, but that's their appeal. There's an inescapable feeling you get from them as if it's 1998 again- Y2k is coming, Will Ferrel is on SNL, and Pokemon is new, exciting, and...
What? Giratina and Heatran are easy-peasy to catch.
Cressellia was the hardest for me. Got it down to a sliver of red, cast hypnosis on it 60 times... took 80 high-level balls.
I voted for Mesprit though because I still haven't caught it. :paranoid:
Slow... Combat... OMG...
Everything else- the lack of certain types, the disparity in trainer levels, the curious irrelevance of the Battle Frontier- is dismissable. Slow battling is a real drag, bro.
