Am I alone in this or?

On pc I might only make a few posts in day when I'm on, but I spend most of my time reading other people's posts. I realised that most members come to post themselves, but I could spend hours going around reading posts in numerous sections without posting myself. Do many of you guys do that? I find it really unusual. Sadly, it's become a replacement for reading books. I sometimes go back over interesting old threads too. Am I strange?

No you're quite a normal long-time member...face it, in PC years we're getting OLD. So we lurk moar because we don't see anything the newbies are saying as worth replying to...we've been there, done that and replied to it last year or something like that. XD

I post a lot, but I definitely read more than I post. When I first log on I usually open up 10-15 tabs of threads that I'm interested in that got posted in over the period of time that I was gone, and maybe post in 2 of them. The rest I just read through to see what other people said. OVPs are fun to read through, especially if one person likes to post in them a lot, you can put together a good image of their lives and that's really fun, albeit kinda creepy but I do it anyway

I don't think it has a thing to do with age though, because obviously I haven't been on a long time.

I don't post or read stuff in my own sections. Oooops.

I love to read others' posts, but when I do it makes me want to post in return. Which I guess, after all, is the reason for a forum so there was really no point to this comment :P

Yeah your not alone, I find my self to lurk or read everybodys post, then say i should post, then dont.

I've been doing the same thing, post a few times a week, but whenever I'm on, I mainly read through posts. Postings so overrated now.

I get way too lazy. I will read but I don't want to strech my hands out to the keyboard even if I had a post thought up. :x

I read the posts of others much more than I post. You're not strange, just addicted to the site.

When I am not posting, I read posts in sections I don't frequent too see whats going on in those forums. Basically when the sections I usually go to don't have anything going on at the time I go to other sections and lurk from time to time.

This is also me. Which is kind of odd given the nature of my section, particularly the reading part.

I read stuff quite a bit more than I post as well. And I do the old thread thing, omg. All the time. I spend way too much time doing that. :x

yes, i do. i can't really post as much as i've ever wanted to and especially when i was a bit more recent to the forum, i did that all the time. i just kinda read posts, hardly ever posting myself and only when necessary. i had a sub-1.00 posts per day stat for ages, though i've actually started to post a little more. :>

I don't post without reading first and sometimes after reading I don't feel like posting. So overall I do more reading here than posting.

I always read the entire thread before I post, in case there's something I really want to comment on or to see if the thread is worth my time or not. Like, I want to see if the replies are interesting or not. Because to me, chances are if the replies are boring, my post will be boring too, so I don't want to waste my time.

It depends on my mood; I do a healthy amount of both lurking and posting :3 But I do like to read, too!
