This is most definitely biased, but personally:

    Toxicroak>Muk

    lol nice 4x psychic weakness.

you can't compare the two. Muk is more for physical tanking than attacking. RestTalk Curse Muk can survive just about anything after 2 curses.

It gets worse with each Generation. I'm of the opinion they've run out of good ideas...still, G1 and G2 were both great--I'm not sure there's a single Pokémon from either of those generations that I actively despise. G3 had a few bad apples but still had good designs.

G4 was a huge step down from G3. The designs are so bad there that I found it impossible to get together a team that I actually liked to get through the game. There are a few great designs (Glaceon and Lucario stand up there with the best of the G1 Pokémon), but ultimately they fell far short.

Overall (and remember that word), if Generation A was released at the same time as generation B, would you still like most of the Pokemon in A more than most of the Pokemon in Generation B?

Yes. Because even if some of the Pokémon in the first three generations were a little plain, most of the ones in G4 (IMO, of course), were just plain hideous.

What makes you think I was talking about competetive?
I was talking about design, since I actually prefer specific creatures with complicated designs over sludge.
Oh, and swords dance croak can really hurt with sucker punch as far as I know. :/

Generation 1. It has most of the plain stupid pokemon.

Jynx, Mr.Mime, Electrabuzz, Hitmonchan, hitmonlee etc. Pokemon are suposed to be animals. Sure, alot of the newer ones that I like question the whole animal aproach just as much as jynx for example, but srsly, gen 1 had worst overall design.

But that's not saying much as I enjoy all gen's about the same :)

    Spoiler:

Generally people only reckon Gen 1 because of the release of the Pokemon has been made into Pokemon like when we saw a Voltorb and we will shout ''HEY! THAT'S POKEMON'' and when Gen pass by Gen, people literately got the idea from the Gen 1 so when more Gen has came out, it became not as reckon as Gen 1 this is the reason why so many people are supporting Gen 1 including. I'm declaring that other Gen sucks but to clarify the opinion that people made.

PS: SouthPerry? MapleStory? Lol I sorta quit it long ago.

What about those we've seen from Gen 5?
Those are not so bad, I think

I voted for Gen IV because I dislike what they did to the Pokemon. I also got irked by Claydol, but Budew and Gastrodon decided it. I was going to say Arceus, but then again, it is the best Pokemon so far, so it should be complex.

One note is that in a lot of places, I've seen numerous people state the Gen IV Pokemon look like Digimon.

Something that people are forgetting, though, is that people said the exact same thing when Gen III came out.

I voted for Gen III because I really didn't like Hoenn.
But besides that, Gen IV was pretty fail too :/

^ WTF?! Gen 1 shouldn't be up there because it was the original generation. Graphic limitations prevented many 'intricate' or complicated design.

    Gen 4. Plain and simple.

*nods head* Agreed. but i do not like generation 3 that much XD but i love each and every single pokemon there is

Gen III irked me (e.g. Nosepass, Regis, Ludicolo, Volbeat, Minun, Exploud, Hariyama) although Gen IV is the next contender (e.g. Electivire, Magmortar, Magnezone, Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Wormadam, Phione). I hardly use them nor enjoy seeing them.
This and the fact that most of the Pokemon introduced in Generation III were legendaries which made it too easy and un-Pokemonish in my opinion.

It doesn't make sense to group them together and judge them by generation, because each generation has its good designs and its bad. Sure, Gen III had some bad ones like Nosepass, but Groundon, Kyogre and Rayquaza are great. They'd be better if they weren't legendary and overpowered, sure this thread is about designs. IMO, Gen IV had the worse if you have to group them all together, because very few stood out to me. Gen III had lots of bad ones but lots of pretty good ones too, more good ones than Gen IV had.

I don't really want to say any generation is bad, even Probopass isn't terrible (compared to a Pokemon I have in mind). But I voted for generation I.

This is totally based on opinion, so I don't see why what the point of assuming that H2O Turquoise is using sarcasm is.

Anyway, 3rd Gen, for me. Never really liked them.
