Does this uniform make me look smart?

Been a while since I made a thread.

Does your school mandate you to wear a uniform? If so, what is it? And do you where it? If not, would you rather your school make a rule for uniforms, or would you rather dress in whatever you want?

The last time I had to wear a school uniform was when I was a sixth grade, which was the 1998-1999 school year. My family moved to a different school district the year after and I never had to wear a school uniform ever again. XD

I still remember, we had to wear a purple, black, or red polo shirt with the school's initials embroidered on them with khaki slacks or skirts. It didn't really bother me so much, and after a while, nobody really cared. Oddly enough, it wasn't until I started going to a school without a uniform that I started freaking out because I didn't have what most people call "fashion sense" at the time. XD

No, never. I do not like to wear school uniforms, at all. Casual clothing is better.

Though I do mind them, I prefer normal clothes and no school uniforms whatsoever.

I live in England where I think every school has to wear uniform, but this year I start 6th Form which means for the first time since I was 5, I have no school uniform! :D

I've never had to wear a uniform at school and I don't think I'd ever want to. I like the variety that comes with people being able to choose their own style. And besides, you can't really say 'nice shirt' to someone wearing the same one as you.

Yeah I had to wear a uniform.
I have no problem with uniforms. Clothes are clothes and as long as they're comfortable I don't care what they look like.

If anything, it had a positive effect because it prevented the "lol ur poor" and similar stupid remarks said to whoever didn't wear the 'right clothes'.

I grew up going to private schools that made uniforms mandatory, and yeah, they were a pain in the neck. I don't dress outrageously or anything so I never saw the point in being uncomfortable and having to have all these extra bits like a belt and, in 1st through I think 3rd or 5th grade, this sailor tie thing that the girls had to have.

I don't really think taking free dress away makes people do better in school or anything, and where I was, there weren't any gangs or anything like that (and everyone was so same-y anyway) so really there wasn't any point. Plus, if you could afford to go to that school, your parents had to have a similar income to everyone else. Uniforms were just a hassle for us to wear and our parents to have to get.

I have to wear a uniform for my school, which is quite heavily regulated, but I managed to get away with wearing rings and a bracelet for two years before they actually started getting on my case. I don't mind it, since nobody can ever have a 'bad wardrobe' day or be judged for what they wear this way. School's a place to be educated without much distraction, so what somebody else is wearing or keeping up to trends shouldn't be of any concern.
(I'm not exactly the wealthiest in the lot, anyway, going to a private school, so I'd likely be judged to death wearing my normal clothes to school. D: )

None of my schools, pre-school through graduate school at college, have ever required uniforms. I wouldn't have minded them (unless they were made out of an itchy material or were otherwise too hot and/or uncomfortable) but I wouldn't have been overly supportive of them either.

Clothes are really of a "meh" thing to me anyway.

I wore a uniform once. It was a light blue dress shirt with black slacks and a black tie with our school's logo on it. It was a catholic school in Philadelphia. Been about 8 years since I haven't had to a uniform. Though these days, it'd be nice to have that option in my closet. :<

During my first three years of high school, we didn't have to wear uniforms. Then, we were told that they would be introduced in our fourth and final year there, but that we wouldn't have to wear them as we weren't going to be there for much longer anyway.

Several months later, they retracted that comment, and made us all get uniforms for our final year of high school. >_>

About whether I'm for or against it, be it for the whole high school experience or for just the one year in my case, I'm completely against it. I'm not a robot/doll, I'm a human being. They've already taken enough freedom away from us, so why add to it? ¬_¬

Yup. My school makes the students wear a uniform. It consists of a white, black, green or yellow shirt with khaki/black shorts/skirt (for girls)/pants. I prefer wearing shorts as part of the uniform, but I'm forced to wear pants because it's dengue season.

My school requires for us to wear the uniform.
And I guess it's okay. I mean, it's practical, since you won't run out of casual clothes to use, and it adds a certain uniformity to the student body (pun unintended).
I don't really mind wearing the uniform, anyway.

Majority of the Colleges (High Schools) in my city have a uniform.
My School has a uniform and I don't really mind it. I mean my school has had a uniform since my school started 132 years ago. Though it's kinda sad that my old school had a greenish uniform and when i went to college they also had a green uniform quite similar - The jerseys were even the same except they were darker in college

we have to at my school. I like uniforms, they stop a lot of bullying. But I still think we should be able to wear a small amount of jewelery if we want or out hair how we want. I like our sports uniform a lot better. It's comfortable, and I don't have to worry about my skirt blowing up, or something like that
