6th Gen Team Flare Discussion and Speculation

I noticed there's no longer a thread on the evil team so I decided to make one.
So now we know more about Team Flare. In the latest Corocoro we found out Flare has five scientists, most of which happen to be female. It also appears their goal isn't just to make money but to make the "World Beautiful"

I feel by "Beautiful" they mean to say perfect...which brings to mind Cyrus' goal for his own "perfect world".
I'm guessing the theme of these games will be that our world is imperfect but that's what makes it beautiful or something along those lines.

Discuss. What do you think Team Flare means by "Beautiful" world. Also do you think the scientists will be battling us unlike the Sages of Team Plasma?

My guess, and I saw someone else mention this too but, I think their means of forming a beautiful world has to do with genetic splicing and creating perfection through the means of science. It would be kind of awesome if the whole reason Mega Evolutions came to exist is because of Team Flare trying to make the world's Pokémon all the more perfect and beautiful. They could have been a group of good scientists gone bad, and now on their own and trying to finance their experiments, they go looking for easy money in Kalos.

Then again, this plot idea is too genius so I doubt GameFreak would do it.

You know that will practically be Eugenics...which is an interesting theme...which could possibly mean that the evil villains could have perfect IV and Ev Pokemon to reflect that...my goodness if so they'll be tough.

So true. Cyrus for example thought the perfect Universe was one without Spirit...so I can see them going for crazy. Actually the higher ups could be Pyromaniacs...after all several Pyromaniacs find fire to be beautiful. Maybe they try to burn Kalos down...in a crazy, destructive way...

Great idea! It would so cool if to make kalos beautiful they will try to burn it, really want a psycho boss!

Nah but really genetic engineering would actually make for an interesting plot, still like you said GF may have not look that deeply into it.

I'm interested to see how this team ties in with Xerneas and Yveltal. Xerneas fits the criteria of a Beautiful pokemon, Yveltal not so much and let's not forget about the mysterious third legendary.

Yvetal is beautiful in it's own way. Maybe in Y they'll be more for Destruction and Death=Beauty and in X they could be Mysterious and Majestic= Beauty.

I'm guessing they beleive in eugentics...certain groups thought the poor were inferior and should be wiped out (real life eugentics was both racist and classist). That's pretty much the only fit I can see...an elitist, perfectionist evil group...

Well, lets take a look at previous villainous teams. Team Aqua and Magma both wanted the perfect world, all water and land respectively. Team Galactic wanted the Perfect universe. Team Plasma wanted to free Pokemon from Trainers creating the perfect world. What ever Team Flare does, it will be dastardly.
Also, Team Flare ruins the G.R.A.M.Ps theory with Prof. Oak and Gary.

I immediately thought of Nazi Germany, though certainly not to the same degree. That is an oppressive authoritarian leader(s), determining what a beautiful society entails. Thus, control of all aspects of other humans' lives. I can see this being a very Utopian-driven organization. Often, such organizations might seek mass-destruction of populations in order to preserve the goodness of the elite. Thus, controlling both a destruction and life pokemon would allow for this group to flourish.

I allude to Hitler given some of his envisioning of what beauty was, whether it is the blue-eyed blonde Aryan race or in his beauty of work/labor ideals, which states that those fit for his society must work in aesthetically pleasing work facilities. Moreover, as stated, he envisioned what he believed a beautiful world was, and worked to see that ideal come into fruition regardless of the effects on others.

I did too...that and Cyrus who was will to commit universal G
genocide to create his ideal universe. Also Hitler was big on Eugenics... and had scientists experoment on people. The Flare scientists could be the same...but with Pokémon.
Controlling Life and Death...that make Flare the most dangerous group after Galactic imo.

I find them less generic after today's news (it's still the 11th here). Before this latest issue of Corocoro they came off as only a greedy group. It's good to know there's something else they're after.

Man how the heck can team Flare could create a beautiful World with Fire Types in their team in majority.. Also Team Flare could be well organized as they have 5 scientists. Looking like a Damn Awesome Team in the anime as well. (Who remembers Colress?)
