I want trainer customization to come back. It allows people to make their trainer avatars look unique and refreshing.

I really hope character customization comes back. It's one of my favorite features of XY.

I know that Kalos has this feature because it's fashion-oriented, and I can understand that they didn't put it in ORAS because it's a remake, but I really do think it'll be in Sun & Moon.

I believe that Gamefreak is going to attempt to keep this a Kalos exclusive unless enough people pressure them into adding it to newer games.

I think they're trying to keep this an exclusive so X & Y will continue to sell in spite of being games released in 2013. It is a proven fact that they adore money, and this can be seen even in the dialog of some of the characters in-game.

Personally, I enjoyed character customization greatly, and the new games will benefit from having this feature in it immensely. One thing everyone should do is express the importance of character customization to Gamefreak, and they will include it.

Game developers do listen to their customers if enough of them persistently send them messages, and that too has been proven in various games.

Whether or not character customization will return depends on whether or not the games will take place in southern Kalos, since Masuda has stated that character customization is Kalos-exclusive. If theories about the region being based on Hawaii is true, then I'm expecting additional Hawaiian-based outfits. However, because our main protagonists are underaged, they have to avoid using semi-revealing Hawaiian outfits such as swimming gear to prevent any backlash from the U.S. government and parents seeing their kids playing as characters in inappropriate clothing or seeing NSFW fanart of said clothing on the internet. It's why they altered Lin's swimwear in XCX and removed the girls' lingerie in Fatal Frame 5, because they were underaged. If the region does not take place in Kalos, then there won't be an issue in this possibly Hawaii-based region, since as mentioned, character customization will be Kalos-exclusive.

If customization doesn't come back, then I'm hoping the new female protagonist will be really cute and well-designed.
It always seems like they put 10 times as much consideration into the female protagonist as they do the male protagonist. I wouldn't worry. They'll remove Pikachu from the games before they phone it in with a bland character design.

I do agree that female protagonist designs tend to have more effort put into them. Most of the recent male protagonists seem to have had a common trend of brown hair and wearing blue on their outfits.

I really hope they bring it back. :( I loved the feature and I love character customization in general. It made sense to remove it from ORAS because the characters are already iconic in the series. But it would absolutely suck if they removed it when it was a very popular feature, especially for people with different skin shades.

Gamefreak and their lame excuses to cut out large features. I'm still holding out a little hope that they will include it in S/M. OR/AS were remakes, after all... I can kind of understand there... Kind of... but not really. It's a pretty darn obvious feature that needs to be included in a Pokemon game that goes online in these days.

I only liked character customization in kalos, since calem/serana were rather bland in design. Every other character so far though, I like them as they are.

If they come back to no customization, please Game Freak please give us trainers that are not fair-skinned, Brown haired and has blue eyes, change your design at least.

I have to admit, if they bring back character customisation I'd rather they focus on their appearance than their outfits. It's not a hugely difficult thing to do - about 90% of titles these days with a self-insert protagonist give you the option of changing their face, height, body shape etc. without letting you pick their outfits.

The motif for Kalos was fashion, so I can understand the focus on outfits here, but if that isn't going to be a thing in the new region...well, why not give us some nice presets and let us pick from them? I'm not asking for sliders (because we all know how much Nintendo hate sliders) or anything, just one or two options so I can make my character feel a little more personal.

I definitely think character customizing is definitely a thing that should be included in the new games. But Nintendo might not include it in a Pokemon for years. That's how it was with having a Pokemon following you. The first game to have a Pokemon follow you was Pokemon Yellow but that mechanic wasn't brought back til Gen IV.

XY actually did give you the contacts in the PR Studio which you can change eye colours with (my character is wearing hazel ones to match my eyes) but if customization does return I hope more detail is put into skin and hair colours. Even Battle Revolution did hair and skin colours better than XY.

I know about that it's just by default 90% of the trainers are fair-skinned with blue eyes and brown hairs. Only Crystal(Blue), Dawn(Blue) Serena(Honey) for the female had different hairs, while Lyra and Leaf had brown eyes.

The males are mostly Brown and Grey haired with Blue and Grey eyes.

I just wish by default a character to be something else than the usual fair-skin color too.

I'm praying customisation returns for Sun and Moon. ORAS let me down big time with that, having experienced finally being able to make my character look and dress like me in X and Y, I was back to being stuck as the generic sprite for the whole game. And the worst of the lot, no less; Brendan, in his weird white...thing. That's not a hat.

I really hope it comes back in SM too. Like what has been brought out several times, it gives a sense of uniqueness and individuality that I think players have been wanting for years. I'm not a huge fashion person, but I like customizing things and it is easily one of my favorite aspects of XY.

I also don't get Masuda's excuse for making it Kalos-exclusive... yes, I know that France and Paris in particular are huge in the fashion industry, but so are places like New York in the United States and Milan in Italy. It's a worldwide thing, it's not just exclusive to France.

Nintendo has been doing a lot of fiddling around with DLC in the recent months. I can definitely see them putting in Customization and then selling Customization DLC Packs.

I really hope they don't do this unless it's free DLC.

Still, it wouldn't help if you change your character's hair, height, weight, skin tone, etc. unless you started a new game. Unless they let you change this mid-game, which feels a little weird, or unless the DLC was available right away, in which case why not include it in the prepackaged game?

I'm really hoping that if the games do have a Hawaiian/Polynesian basis (as is the current speculation) that we won't get another pair of unchangeable light-skinned protagonists, or that we'll at least get the option to change things at the beginning like we could with XY.

That's the basis on why they would do something like Paid Customization DLC. It doens't help at all, it's just a cosmetic benefit that doesn't entail some sort of "pay-to-win" feel.
