  • That is exactly why. Sort of. They were the languages of both science and religion and in the middle ages.
It's popular because the last two dominant superpowers (The British Empire and The United States) have had English as their primary language.
English is probably one of the most complex languages around. You can say the same thing 50 different ways just by changing 2 or 3 words around.
In your opinion. Not from the vantage point of someone who's new to the internet. Such a rule would confuse them to no end.
They have lives, and making the rules more complex than they need to be just confuses newer users.
that's just horrible! People are getting desperate.. riots over black friday prices, mob madness at malls, thieving at any chance they get to get some little trinket. Sad state of affairs and likely to get MUCH worse as 21DEC2012 approaches.
Well it's for consistency when applying the rules. They can't let one thing slide from someone while punishing someone else for that very thing. It's a matter of fairness.
No, I mean it's harder to notice than you'd think because many people don't pay attention or aren't well versed in how links can be placed on a web page. That's part of why the rule is in place. Some people aren't computer literate enough to know that pictures can be links, too.
I think that system is perfectly fine, as long as they don't conflict with the overarching site rules that govern general behavior. I've banned TCG Online code-swapping here because the code cards (which come in TCG boosters for the two most recent sets) run about $1 apiece on eBay and dealing with complaints of people giving out bogus codes is not something the site needs to deal with.
BG seems to have a bit more restrictions on what you can talk about as well, though most fan forums are like that.

I've been posting stuff about my current Sim City 4 cities, and am about to drop a Let's Play on PC about them.
I never really played the original, as my dad never had it.

I'd known about it for a while, and just figured that since I apparently hadn't registered I should do so.
I don't believe we've talked before, but lurking your BMGF profile indicates you either liked or played Age of Empires 2.
