God, sorry with the late reply. :x
Illness in real life makes it hard for me to stay up for too long and write a proper, considered response. Of course, the medication doesn't help much in that respect either tbh...
Manners are in decline. Like everything else in this day and age apparently. I personally blame how kids these days don't have any respect towards anyone who's at least shown themselves to be a smidgeon more intelligent. I mean, I can understand kids acting like jerks to the ones that are a bit more dull than their peers(through the ages even), but, disturbingly enough, they're starting to bring over this habit to those who actually deserve respect based on intellectual superiority/seniority. Not saying that everyone doesn't deserve some sort of respect, but when you start sassing your teachers, parents, or seniors(as in anyone older) before you reach puberty, there's something seriously wrong with how you were brought up.
Still, she's a kid. So worst case scenario is that she just skimmed your last para with a heavy heart at being scolded publicly. I don't actually think she learnt much from it. If she did, good for her. For everyone else, there's Mastercard it was an interesting read.
When dealing with kids, I have a few siblings which I tutor in various stuff, my best bet is to explain everything in analogies. Simple analogies mind.
Anyway, as for me, aside from the illness, the only annoying thing is this delightful English weather in this charming, badly-insulated house.
