Oh okay. I expected the more traditional view of nirvana actually -- liberation from the suffering that is the endless cycle of reincarnations (who would enjoy becoming a plant). I've never actually met a Buddhist who doesn't believe in reincarnation.
Buddhism is definitely an enlightening religion though. I like how it sort of requires its followers to be active and open, and not just believe in certain doctrines. I know a former Catholic friend who left the Church for Buddhism because it greatly answers the cause of suffering. My community members were shocked of course. The last time I heard of her was when she celebrated Buddha's birthday.
