  • I just see people comment on how they love to write and I'm left wondering why they don't post any of it in FF&W. I've tried getting members to post, but they always say that they will, and I never see them again...
I've ranted in a thread in FF&W before. Actually, that was the entire point of the thread. To tell people what I thought of FF&W and to see if anyone had any ideas to improve the section.
It's just hard because people don't really want to put all the effort into reading this story that might not even be good. I can't just hand select a few "elite" stories and recommend them because that would be showing favoritism and as much as I would like to, I can't read every fic that gets submitted, so I would bound miss a really good story.

I tried doing a story of the week things where a random story would get an advertisement in the forum splash, and I had members submit their story so I wouldn't be advertising an abandoned fic, but two people signed up the first week, and then the member whose story wasn't drawn was the only member who submitted their story the next week. What sucks the most is that it seemed everyone wanted to do the story of the week, but when I did it, no one was interested.

It seems to be a trend in FF&W. I come up with an idea like the recent Idea Exchange, where people post their ideas they're not writing about in an attempt to inspire other people, and I'm the only person whose submitted any ideas so far. It seems that the members are so excited for something, but the second I implement it, they couldn't care less. Everything I do for them is just tossed aside and no one seems to care.

There's only one member who is doing anything, and that's Incynermin and his haiku contest, and even that is losing popularity. I'm even running around with a link to it in my sig, but it's not working. Nothing is working. It's as if the members just expect the place to get popular all on its own.

What they don't realize is that I can't reward them every time they make a post or do something good. What they don't realize is that they have to meet me halfway. It's a team effort and I'm the only person on the field.

Sorry about the rant. I started typing and didn't stop. It just frustrates me because this was the place I discovered my love for writing, but no one cares.
Yeah, I just wish some of the other stories could get more views. There are some great stories that are being ignored and it kills me.

And I'm now known as Slayr231 on Skype.
Don't feel pressured to or anything, but I wouldn't mind if you did read it. :P
I remember the day I was modded, Alien Poverty's views got bumped up by ~200. It was a little intimidating, especially when some people started calling you the god of creative writing...

    Well... umm, ermm. No comment.
I love talking! Although, that might be a no-brainer too. :P

Yeah, it's my first attempt at a book that actually made it past chapter two. In fact, I'm wrapping up chapter eleven and I expect it to be done within the next couple chapters. It's not outstanding or even that good, but it's a start. I hope to rewrite it someday to tie up any loose ends and hopefully get it published. Have you seen my signature? It's kind of hard to miss there.
Yes they do. If it weren't for my brother, they wouldn't know I was a moderator though. I don't tell my parents a lot of things. I doubt they even know that I'm writing a book.
They may, or may not have known that I played it...

They probably did, but they didn't realize how violent it was. Not that it's violent in the first place, but for me, it was the bloodiest game I had ever played back then. XD
Now there's a story behind that!

I was 12 and joining my first online community. Runescape to be exact. When you're 12 years old, you want to think of a really cool and tough username, so I starting leaning in the slayer direction. I tried all sorts of things from Slayer111 to Slayer231, but they were all taken. So, I dropped the "e", and that's how the Slayr part of my name came to be. The 231 comes from the fact that my dad was in the military and I spent my childhood moving every couple of years. Since it had such a big impact, I decided that the only number combination that would work would be the number of my dad's last squadron before he retired. Rather than come up with a new username for every site, I just used this one again and again. Now I can't imagine me without it!
I get where you're coming from regarding Toulouse. It's hard to get used to for some people, because it's so bizarre. But if you let yourself truly feel the waves coming from the song—in their rawest form—you'll love it. :D
Its something I can't really describe, but just… take a listen to this 1 hour mix.

A lot of people make video mixes of Nightcore music that are a certain length (1 hr, 5 hrs, etc), so you don't have to worry about shuffling to the next video every 3 minutes.

If you don't like it, try this. :D
Wait, what do you see? o_O

Rock Smash really did suck in Gen III, but in Gen IV it got better with a halfway decent power level. It also covers as the only common Fighting-type move that a lot of Rock-types can learn, and a lot of other Pokémon weak to rock types can learn it as well. Other than that and Nosepass, it really is kind of useless. But I love it! :D

®ock§mashGod comes from RockSmashGuy, who was the name of the scientist who handed out the TM in Emerald.
Ah. That has good reason. Basically, my cousin played a lot of GTA when he was here so if you messaged me when GTA was being played then you were messaging my cousins. Otherwise, I should have replied. :)
