  • Yeah, that's sort of the train of thought I was going with too. Now that I think about it, there are a few Pokemon games that actually do make it so you have to hunt for Legendaries or discover them on your own. Pokemon Mystery Dungeon was notorious for that, and it was exceedingly difficult to get to each legendary because they had specialized dungeons which kept going on forever. I don't think I ever got all the legendaries in PMD: Explorers of Sky in particular, since that was considered a "master quest" edition with all the legendaries from all the games up to Gen IV. Also, you had to be extremely patient since some legendaries were part of random events in the game that didn't occur too often (namely Raikou, Entei, and Suicune wouldn't appear until you accepted their challenge bulletin on the side-quest/mission board in the game); furthermore, some legendaries wouldn't appear unless you had special items (the Sacred Tablet or Golden Icon, iirc), and then you had to figure out what dungeons they'd appear in (even then, they wouldn't always join your team when you beat them, meaing that you had to go back and fight them repeatedly until they did).

Still, my point remains that it'd be nice to have legendaries that weren't out in the open, or easy to find. That's the only thing I dislike about Pokemon lately, all the legendaries (even special event ones) have some tie-in with the story. The only games that make them available just in side-quests are the side titles.
I like the thought of that. Although, I always pictured encountering legendaries as if they were watching me all this time and just then decided I was worthy and appeared in front of me. But I do like the idea of going on a little treasure hunt for legendaries. Just like Indiana Jones.
That's fine, but yeah... My Fakemon Golbania, Xylioxia (pronounced: Zy-lee-ox-i-a), Carastone, and Fwan are sort my region's unofficial legendaries. Really, I would like to see something in the real games that features Pokemon you can't just find by happenchance. It'd be nice to have hidden legendary Pokemon you actually have to discover on your own and they aren't ones that people could get to or find easily. The only ones that were remotely like that were the Regi-triad in Gen III. You actually had to know how to unlock their sealed chambers before you could get them, and even then, it wasn't something you could just figure out (you had to decipher a code in a hidden chamber and have two specific pokemon in your party). In the case of Golbania and the "secret specters," they're Pokemon that could be easily passed up in a game if you can't figure out where they are.
Several... I actually had a Fakedex project I was working on until a few months ago. I didn't have enough time to keep working on it so I sort of pushed it off to the side.

    Spoiler:
Technically, Golbania is. But the idea is that it also is kind of an 'urban legend' too. People talk about it in my stories casually or blatantly, but not many see it.
I never gave it specific base stats, but I did design it to be OU. Golbania is one of Ronac's Secret Specters, a series of Ghost-types that are intentionally hard to fight and harder to find. Golbania lives in a hidden temple that'd be difficult to get to in-game and harder to navigate since it's a repetitive maze. When a player finds Golbania, they have to fight each head separately before it lets them catch it (sort of proving one's worth to Golbania). It's similar with the other Specters to. They'd be easy to miss dex-wise since they're hidden in inconspicuous areas. I'm surprised that Game Freak hasn't seriously done that since the Regis in gen 3.
Well, there's Frillish/Jellicent, but the only thing it's got going for it is Cursed Body (which disables the first attack move an enemy uses against it). Golbania would be outright annoying, though.
AHAHAHAHAHA, that's what I've come to love about Aegislash. It's fun using it in Battle Spot's Random Matchup. People don't know how to react when it switches from offense to defense on the fly.

Golbania, on the other hand, is more of a fanfic Fakemon. It's representative of the delicate balance between dreams and reality in my stories, and probably in the purest sense. Golbania is supposed to be a living illusion. He's a Ghost and Water type that suddenly appears from reflecting pools of water or mirrors and doesn't have true physical mass. There's a lot of Dreamtime mumbo-jumbo that explains his existance, though. He's actually the focal point of my next chapter in Feral Twilight.
Actually, that's the point. Well, it's ability is called Solace Mirage, which lets it switch between its heads depending on how its battling (akin to Aegislash's Stance Change, I guess). Sly is normally the one to start the battle, but depending on whether its attack categories determine whether or not it switches. For instance, Sly is Defense/Special Defense-strong, whereas Chaste is Special Attack-strong, Serenity is Speed-y, and Conviction is Attack-strong (each showing its head depending on the move it uses). In the case of its signature moves called Lamentation and Prism Clasher, all four heads would appear in battle simultaneously (sp?). Ideally, it'd be more annoying than any other "shape-shifting" Pokemon.
Yes, I did. It's a fakemon called Golbania. In a nutshell, it's a creature formed of four giant snakes conjoined at their tail tips. Each of its heads represents a different part of its personality (Sly represents its cunning, Chaste represents its purity, Serenity represents its joy, and Conviction represents its determination). Also, they have different symbols on their faces so you can tell them apart (Sly's is a V pattern that extends from his upper lip between his eyes and up to his brow, Chaste's is a plus mark between his eyes, Serenity has a star on his nose, and Conviction has an X under his chin). Golbania's one of my staple characters in "The Crusade of Dark Nostalgia" series too. He's supposed to be the Pokemon that mitigates the damages caused by two certain Pokemons' clashes so that they don't completely destroy the multiverse.
I updated Feral Twilight, so you're aware of it for the Fanfic of the Week thing. (I was Skunter, btw, in case you weren't aware of my name change.)
I plan to update Feral Twilight sometime before the weekend, but once I do, can I request having it added to the Weekly Featured Fanfic thing?
It's fine. I just didn't want it deleted but it's not. Your not a tyrant, your just enforcing the rules.
I wasn't trying to ridicule you. I was just stating that I hadn't brocken the 1000 word rule. I didn't want the chapter to be deleted, I had spent a lot of time.
I'd like Elite Academy to be advertised on the forum. Thanks, you're doing a great job with moderating! :)
Actually, I used to get most entries in within the first few days when I hosted the contest on PokeBeach. However, there weren't as many people entering each time, so I made it into a first-come/first-serve contest with only fifteen entries allowed each time to prompt people to enter. The interest became very explosive from then on.

Still, if I change the timescales to a week to submit entries and a week for voting, I think people will probably remember to vote. Again, this is still early for the contest. I was expecting to have to make some kind of revisions to the thread as the contest went on.
