  • yeah I looove skip tickets. they're so so good. I may just make a clone team of my main and replace some random cards with event ones to skip ticket with that, that's how I do it in other games lol
Oh hey I'm at the end of Cave Story. I ended up figuring out the plantation out on my own (but I do appreciate the help). I did get stuck for a while on where to fix the sprinkler. I finished Final Cave without any issue. (2nd attempt). She took my booster which confused me, because I was thinking "what why"? I also beat Misery on my first try, but I'm not sure if you can go back and heal before the doctor? Or if this is a subsequent fight. Either way he beat me, so I'll be fighting misery again. (He didn't seem too bad, I got him down to minimum health). I'm guessing the final area you recorded must have been the secret final area (Blood Stained Sanctuary). Now I'm super curious about who the secret final boss would be. Also I like how the random dog gave me a health capsule. I jumped off the rocket when I saw him.

Yeah your right. It helps knowing the side effects are normal and brief. I'm hoping with whatever happens, it won't be too severe. It's so easy with anxiety to start thinking irrationally. I feel like I'm on a countdown right now, where I'm dreading each passing day. Hopefully the actual injection isn't too bad either. It probably seems silly to worry of such things, but that's how anxiety is. There's 3 future days in late may/june I'm nervous for.

It's tricky. Enjoyment is always subjective, so who knows. I learned this when I played Final Fantasy 13. (The most trashed and hated game that "ruined" the series became my favorite). I guess on this topic, it would be a good time to share what I think so far. My enjoyment has been 6 > 2 > 1 > 3 > 5 > 4. I changed my mind about 5. I think it was more fun than 4. It's fascinating you mentioned a decline. I know they introduce a shop system at some point? I just don't know when. I'm super excited to play MM9, I was looking up some videos of that. It looks so good. I think I might go through the game as Proto Man.

The Gameboy titles are on the 3DS shop for extremely cheap prices. To me they don't seem as good, but if I'm ever craving more of the series I might try one. There's also something on the wiki called Mega Man GameGear, which is Mega Man 4 and 5 combined. It says the plot is Wily has revived some of his robots.

Actually now that I think of it, I still had that full heal capsule. I probably could have beaten the doctor. oops. (though I don't know if he's really the last boss).

I got Super Paper Mario as well, so I'm excited to play this one.
It was fun doing indoor dining, but I'm not too into seafood. I'm supposed to be getting the covid vaccine within a week or two. My anxiety about it is really bad (particularly getting the side effects). It's consuming me and it's pretty much all I can think about.

The plantation is massive. I'm trying to break it down section by section. The jails, statue room, there's teleportation rooms. There's an interesting section on top that I'm killed when I try to enter. I feel like it's something to do with the best ending. I'm actually not sure how to progress. The Migma aren't speaking to me. I actually don't mind if you want to say it. By the way what does the arms barrier do? It's nice that you have a parent who plays video games. My mother likes a few NES titles.

So right now with Platinum I'm trying to get Ice Punch for Weavile, but it requires blue shards. I'm doing the underground mining thing, but not much luck. I actually found two heart scales and a fossil before I found a shard.

Actually what you've been talking about makes me excited to try the Mega Man X games. I checked a video and the gameplay looks so fast and mega man seems so much more powerful. If I don't enjoy 7 maybe I'll try one of them instead. Is the difficulty on par with classic series or is it easier? Also have you seen the gameboy titles? They seem like miniature versions of the console ones, it's really neat.
I completely forgot to ask...but what's with the the symbols after I finish a level in Mega Man 6? Sometimes it's a mega man smiley face, other times it's an A, for one of the bosses there was nothing.
It's understand. Hopefully the work stuff is going well for you. We just did family stuff for Easter. My first time indoor dining in a year.

I sort of let myself have an exception, so I looked around the internet for the health capsules. It turns out, I had gotten most of the early ones. Looks like I might have missed some in the Egg Corridor. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my way back to the labyrinth? It's not on the teleport machine. Also I just realized I must have killed Curly Brace...opps. I thought she would find her own way out. Oh it's quite okay, I'm not bummed out at all. The machine gun has been really nice, especially since I've been able to fly to really far heights. On the replay it's something I'll miss. So I did beat the twin dragons (was hoping for a reward, I guess my reward is satisfaction). RIght now I'm in the plantation. Not sure what to do here. There's a statue room and a glowing thing under red spikes. I think I know what you meant by the bad ending, because the guy asked me if I wanted to leave the island...If I had been playing this randomly without speaking here, I probably would have mindlessly said "sure" and thought the game was over. How did you find this game anyways? Was it just a love for the genre and you stumbled into it?

I'm a bit iffy on trick room outside of anything competitive. IV's and EV's many times don't exist on NPC trainers, so often times you still outspeed the enemy
unexpectedly. Unfortunately, I think the 'weak' member of my team is driftblim. It's not bad, but I'm having trouble finding useful situations for it.

Wasn't 9 the reset back into the NES way of doing things? That sounds like it might have been the reason they left out the quick swap of weapons. I think when I finish writing this I'll make an attempt at Knight Man. (I don't know if I mentioned this, but I'm really fond of medieval era stuff and knights). I was really happy when I saw Knight Man. I'm not too fond of games doing that (forcing collectibles to progress). But if it's simple to find them in Kirby, I guess it's not a big deal. I like Kirby's Adventure, sometimes I run through that game in a single sitting. Is the Wily Castle in Mega Man 6 something difficult to get ready for?

editing this message: I got really far into mega man 6. I didn't except to speed through it, but I only have 2 stages left (yamato and tamahawk). The suits are so much fun. I think this is my favorite in the series so far. I also love all the stages.
    Happy Easter!

So how bad is the worst ending exactly? It sounds like if you leave you would be waking on a major problem. I don't really understand the point of doing it, to get that far and leave the story unfinished. Yep it's called the Bubbaline, that first level was the weakest weapon I've seen so far. I checked the execution chamber, but it just seems like an empty room. Unless there's something hidden I'm missing. I wonder if I could make a go at the final area. (I have a feeling there won't be many saves). By the way do you know any other cool weapon tricks?

I went for Candice for a second attempt, and I beat the Frosslass in one hit with Rareacross. (Critical hit shadow claw). My team has a speed issue, and I think this was a fight I completely overlooked. My team is all level 40-42 (besides a level 35 sneasel). I'm wondering if this is sufficient or if I should get ahead and grind. I remember having trouble with distortion world cyrus.

I think my regret so far with this series is that I've been mostly ignoring the weapons. I was just comfortable with the default gun and almost never opened my menu unless it was a boss fight. I'm trying to change that with Mega Man 6. (I see what you meant by the charge buster being weakened). The stages in 6 do feel long, and I'm having trouble with some aspects of it. I'm noticing walls I can't break, and I made it to flame man but he completely overwhelmed me. Looks like I'm saving him for last until I guarantee I have his weakness.

I do have triple deluxe now. It's so cute. I love the keychains, but it's reminding me I'm really not familiar with the series. I'll probably play this casually, not worrying about the sun stones. Kirby Fighters is really cool too.
I'm actually not sure just how close I've gotten to the final area. I guess when I'm done with all the backtracking I'll be heading straight into it. The waterway was the only area that I never died in. Anyways I double checked Mimiga village, I only have 29 hearts so I'm pretty there's some I must be missing, I'm just not finding them. I did get the bubble weapon. I'm not sure what this is supposed to do either, But I'm guessing since it's so secretive it must be good. I did pick up the arms barrier, but I thought that it was required for the boulder? I do want to beat the twin dragons, as I'm curious about whats in the chest. Also, if I go back to the labyrinth, can I skip to different sections or do I have to trek through the entire thing again? Oh and I went back to the first cave, I met a guy who said I stole his gun. I'm guessing that's where I would be getting the final upgrade.

I was handed my first defeat in Platinum...to candice of all people. I could not hit the frosslass after it started using double team. It's such a lame way to lose, because there's nothing you can do to counter it, unless you have something like Shock Wave. I'll treat it as a simple setback since I've enjoyed the playthough so much, but I haven't felt like picking the game up after that. evasion is so gross sometimes.

Okay you actually cleared up something I was confused about. I kept looking for rush on my menu. I even recall rush being in the intro. I didn't catch on that they were based on different areas, makes me curious about stuff like flame man. I have heard good things about 9 so that's exciting. I did guess correctly because I was just thinking obscurely. Like...can you freeze wind? and it worked hilariously.

Yeah I can't do isolated things. I get the same creepy feeling with outer space. I see why people are bothered by leviathans, for me I don't want to accidentally swim off the map into nothingness. (but apparently you get teleported to a random spot, that actually makes me feel way better).
yeah dhghshhs I'll start off slow... super slow.... having fun this way so it has still been good. :D But I'll try to make multiple teams over the next few weeks! I sure wish I had boosted cards for some of these events though, it stinks not having any. Hopefully I can still get an acceptable amount of points lol.
Got it, thanks. It'll help for reference, especially if I get stuck. Currently I finished the waterway which seems to have taken me back to the central village. I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. The town is empty so I went back to the Egg Corridor (no real reason). It was blown up, and I lost against two dragons.

I'm at my favorite route on Platinum. (The huge ice mountain before snowpoint). I think ace trainers are the most fun to fight, and it's littered with them. There's also the really interesting and eerie ghost house. I think it's the most atmospheric place of Sinnoh. Do you have a favorite particular area? (or part of the game).

What was it you didn't like about beat? We had our differences, but honestly I was glad I picked up the letters, I think he ended up making the boss fights much easier. I'm not sure how I confused wave man and gravity man. Either I was being an air head or I was just tired because I had been playing a long time. Also I love Mega Man 6 so far. I like how fancy the boss introductions are, and I feel like the stages are perfectly challenging enough. I beat Cenataur Man and somehow guessed Wind Man would be weak to him. Also I got curious and looked up gameplay for Mega Man 8. Uh yeah it's really different looking. Hopefully I can still get into it. As long as it's charming I guess.

The creative mode of subnautica starts you off with every submarine and all end game equipment. You have infinite materials to build a base, and the monsters ignore you. (They still grab your submarine). It's not really the leviathans that cause it. I don't like the isolated feeling of the ocean, even creative mode doesn't get rid of the feeling for me. If you want to swim around without worrying about crafting, then yeah you might find the game peaceful to turn on. It is pretty looking.
Finished Mega Man 5! (will give my thoughts on it below) Out of curiosity, will beat be returning as my default weapon? (He was a gift).

I will somewhat agree and disagree. I don't expect difficulty, but at the same time I still want to feel engaged. I will praise Platinum because I think it nailed this perfectly. For JRPG standards, it's an easy game. But I think the newer games are so easy that I do feel a loss of engagement. Like the gym leaders are so unexciting because they don't put up more of a fight than a regular NPC. But it's all subjective. You understood the question so no worries.

So I realized during the boss rush that I had never even touched most of the weapons. Then I realized...wait the power stone isn't even hitting charge man. (Not a good impression). The Proto Man cutscene made me smile, I liked hearing the whistle again. I developed a love hate relationship with beat. Sometimes he would be such a help, other times he wouldn't attack what I wanted and I would slip and die. I got stuck for a while in wily's castle on a convener belt section. (Until I realized I could use rush jet). I mean no offense with this (I know you expressed liking it) but I think this might have been my least favorite in the series so far. I still had fun, but I didn't enjoy the weapons and the bosses felt so forgettable I couldn't recall who they were at the end. I thought wave man was gravity man. The fake protoman was really, really hard. I lost about 12 times. He did so much damage, I can't imagine it without beat.

Yep at the core. Not much progress so far. I only planned on playing 1 mega man stage, but got carried away and played for hours until I finished it. I'll replay cave story for sure, it could be fun getting the better ending. As a small mention, I like how my weapons can upgrade instantly now from the tough enemies.

I feel like with Subnautica everything is useful. In my experience, I store everything because I might need it later. I was trying to get over some of my anxiety, so I turned on creative mode and found one of those leviathan monsters I was worried about. (I thought since it was creative mode he would ignore me, but nope he attacked my submarine). But I was like...okay this isn't so bad.
ohh wait you mean SBL not DLP, woops aha. Yeah I've just been playing that with my base team. Sometimes it's hard, but most of the time I S rank it anyway, and that's good enough for me atm.
thank youu, I'll do my best to work on those <3

ngl I....haven't done much with SBL team building since. kind of got lazy and then the event left for now, lol. I've been so focused on improving my main team that I haven't thought of much else. T_T There's just too much for me to consider when I don't feel confident enough in knowing the entire game yet!
I'm somewhat accustomed to something I learned when I had a stint playing competitively. Even a 'perfect' team has a weakness, you just have to work around it. Right now I'm trying to get to Snowpoint City, but I always get lost in Mt Coronet. When you mention not caring about difficulty, does it matter on the opposite scale for being too easy? I love Gen 6, but it feels like I sweep the gym leaders and elite four in one hit. I thought the battle with Ghetsis in Gen 5 was the perfect difficulty.

I haven't even touched some of the weapons in 5. It just feels more convenient to keep the charge buster equipped. I can't do the infinite Super Jumps because of an HDMI TV delay. I'm surprised you watched a speedrun since you didn't finish it. But then again Mario RPG isn't a big deal for spoilers.

I'm at the flooded core. I know it seems like I suddenly jumped in progress, but I realized the game is super fun so I started playing more. Also there's some delay between writing back and fourth, I'll probably be even more ahead when you see this. I might pick it up and play before bed. It'll be sad when it's over, but I am looking forward to trying Super Metroid. I've always heard good things about it. Since I have so many weapons, is there anything in earlier areas I should go back for? Like the egg corridor?

That's a bit sad, knowing Dr.Light isn't around anymore. I guess Mega Man would be, because I don't think Robots age like humans. I hate crafting, but doing it in Subnautica is really easy. It crafts on it's own, you just swim around for the ingredients. More precious ingredients are farther out, meaning you have to swim farther and confront scarier monsters. I'm actually much braver playing this with another person around. On my own it gets under my skin. I've actually been looking up the locations of certain sea monsters, because I don't want to be jump scared in this game. It already puts me on edge.
I am a bit let down about Vaporeon having a -defense nature, because I know it's taking slightly more damage than it should. My team also has an Infernape problem, but it's not like trainers are running around with Infernapes everywhere, besides the rival. I'm interesting in the new Pokemon Snap. I know Sword/Shield had lore, but I just didn't feel all that invested. Do you usually play on Switch or Set? I'm doing switch just because I find set tedious, not challenging. I'm going to be switching all the time anyways, and the A.I almost never does. It also makes the distribution of EXP easier.

I'm almost done with the protoman stages. I'm wondering...are they missing checkpoints? I feel like I'm getting far and having to redo the entire stage. I didn't know I could still fire with beat. I was just letting him fight while I dodged. I actually did the same thing. (Left the game at Sunken Ship). But due to familiarity, it didn't take long to get back to it. I'm at Smithy's Factory, but I want to beat Culex and don't feel like grinding. He kills me in two turns.

I found all the dogs, and yep I was missing the one in the shack. Um so I really enjoyed the sand zone. It was probably my favorite area so far. I was confused about the Giant Tank, but he eventually started taking damage and I won. I haven't been getting stuck at anything, I moved the Boulder without much issue. I feel like this could be a pretty quick game to replay when you know everything.

Isn't Mega Man X a different character entirely? I'm not too familiar with Mega Man lore. If I had to guess, I would assume it's an alternate timeline. I know a long time ago I saw the ending for Mega Man 7, and Mega Man was threatening to kill Wily. Ouch. As for other games right now, I'm trying Subnautica. It's the first game to ever scare me. I like swimming, but I have a pretty bad phobia of the deep ocean. There's moments I play this and freeze up. But I'll be so proud if I can push past and finish it.
I'm not too familiar with Platinum, so I forgot you can find Ice Beam as a TM. Ouch. Honestly I just wanted Vaporeon to have a nice moveset. It's never bad to have extra coverage, just in case Weavile falls. My favorite part of the game is the Canalave library. I like reading bits of lore. Slog of trainers reminds me of Kanto.

I got the missing letters. I was missing G and V. My reward was a bird. So um, that's neat. I'm sure it'll be helpful. (wasn't expecting it). I replayed the entire stages, but you couldn't redo the boss fights. Oh, you weren't that far from the end of Super Mario RPG. It's Sunken Ship, Monster Town, Nimbus Land, Volcano, Smithy. It's funny you quit where you did. You just got peach and she's so game breaking. She has a full party heal called Group Hug for only 4FP. It's silly. Smithy's Castle has a really tough section involving picking a door. Don't feel bad if you need to save state that. You pick a door and it offers a challenge. There's battle doors which are the easiest, puzzle doors which can get absurd, and action doors which involve platforming. You need to complete 4 of 6 doors.

Hover is really nice (but I didn't know I could do it until I opened your message). I can't find the last dog. I looked everywhere. I see a spot on top with a print, but it's empty. I'm so stuck. I'm guessing it's worth it not to trade? The final upgrade probably suppresses the machine gun.

That does sound cool how completing one stage can effect another. It sounds like it would add replay value. What makes the stage selection formula better? Is there a hint system or something?

Thanks. I don't hate my art. I was probably most proud of the panda. If you couldn't tell I'm just really fond of animals.
I came to a decision without flipping a coin. My team is facing a speed issue, and I think Weavile will help against late or post game dragon types. Although I spent all my money on buying the 10,000 Ice Beam TM for Vaporeon. My Driftblim has ominous wind, and I debated "do I want baton pass"? But it's too situational. Keeping Thunder seems better. I just finished Byron's gym this morning. It's my least favorite part. A few too many gym trainers, and the leader isn't very exciting.

So I did finish up all the normal levels. I'll go back for the special weapon because I'm only missing two letters. Oh, and I wasn't expecting Proto Man. That's a nice surprise. I didn't know you were about to finish Super Mario RPG, let alone played it. Did you have fun with it? For how it went with Mega Man, I had some trouble with Napolm Mans stage. Many enemies kept sponging damage, and I couldn't dodge the missiles. Luckily the platforming at the end was really easy.

I took the Machine Gun, I have no regrets about it. This is amazing and I'm clearing enemies way quicker. I'm currently looking around because I need to find 4 dogs. (not having any luck). I'm also confused about what the dog print blocks are for. And I need a key, I'm guessing it's my reward for finding the dogs? Super Metroid is what I'm looking into after this.

I can't blame you for looking up boss weaknesses. When I get to the end of the stage, I often do it because I don't want to replay the entire level. How many X games are there anyways? And it doesn't surprise me you would be at X4 already. I imagine the experience with the classic series would help you out. Also these are SNES games, right? I'm going to try them after the classic series. I don't even know if it follows the same "pick a stage" formula.

For sure. I really enjoy sketching, buuuut there's not much quality. So I wouldn't expect too much when clicking this link. Nonetheless, here's some stuff from my sketch book. You have to scroll down to see my sketches. They include a panda, raccoon, camel, dragon, cat, bird, a t rex, and a really bad floaztel. (which i colored). It's sloppy and I messed up the head shape. Still, I added it to the uploads.

    okay last question I'm sorry ; ;

do you know how to tell what the best insight skill is? I read online that the ones with blue borders are best, since I think they're passive, but I'm really struggling to understand them well enough. Apparently the red corner voltage gained (song start) are awful so I want to replace mine...
yeah I seriously dunno how they did it. x_x I lose interest in repeating the same exact thing back to back quickly, so I've never been able to tier for events. All I did was earn enough points for the reward I wanted and stopped there lol.

and yeah that is lame too. Honestly I still just pull for whoever I want and don't care much about saving, hadn't aware people suggested waiting for lims to that extent in bandori. Wonder how much the game/community has changed at this point. from time to time I check the subreddit, maybe I'll take a glance again to see what people are talking about.

waaaait the fes cards aren't limited? I thought they were limited to fes banners only? Unless you mean like, they come back eventually (in which case I had no idea bandori had cards that were limited to the point where they only ever showed up in a gacha banner once ahdhfhahs)
Yeah... T_T It's too grindy, which disappoints me because some help from auto really would've made me love these games again. Bandori I played like crazy for like a year, but eventually that consistent, repetitive grind became too much and I lost interest. I still miss it, it's just... hard to justify playing for years longer doing the exact same thing/playing the same popular songs.

Yeah Masters has lim cards (mostly the champions who tend to be released in limited banners). Rates are actually pretty good too, 7% for a 5 star? But still easy to just end up getting another one than the one you're hoping for lol

    also omg

Decided to pull for fes in hopes of getting new URs, happy to have gotten fes Kanan again but wow out of all those 4 URs, all were dupes? aha
Ooh I see! I used to play JP SIF and JP Bandori too but not understanding Japanese well enough got to me, so I stopped. Have an EN Bandori account that I used to be addicted to and spent a lot on but haven't been active in a year... oof. I did see they finally added morfonica to the EN version though so that's awesome. Just wish we could autoplay certain things, manually playing nonstop to grind events etc gets a bit tiring to me when I'm busy. T_T That's part of the charm of All Stars to me, I don't need to be paying attention every time I play. Replaying the same things constantly isn't exactly fun, so I appreciate the addition of auto in that regard lol

I play All Stars, Dragalia Lost, Cookie Run Kingdom, Princess Connect, Genshin, Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, Pokemon Masters, School idol festival (less nowadays though)... so a lot ahahaha
