* Failing to get a nibble (which suction cups prevents)

Also, I kept a fainted octillery in the front of my team; I read that it would still work the same.

Be sure to google the specifics about octillery; not sure if I remember exactly how it was done.

I read somewhere it did, so I tried it, and apparently it makes it so that, so long as you time correctly, you will be guaranteed to hook a fish on the line. I mean, it seemed to work. I had a shiny seadra and skrelp within an hour.

The chain fishing worked for me...I was shocked when I hooked a shiny skrelp in less than a half hour!

Did you have a suction cup octillery in the first slot of your party?

I spent 3 days straight hatching eggs Masuda-method (over 5,000 eggs), and nothing. Some 8 year old on youtube soft resets less than 50 times and gets one :/
