I don't see it as eating up the thread, you had an important experience to share, and we're supposed to be here as friends and as a community to be that shoulder you can lean on when you're down. Don't feel bad for wanting to talk about what happened, it's good to have dialogues.

I am terribly sorry also to hear about a neighbor drowning. That's dreadful, and I can imagine all the confusion and fear when you found your cat too at this time. Again, I am sorry that your community at home lost someone else.

Something that I think is good is that you were able to give a cat a long and healthy life so that he could have a natural and peaceful conclusion to his story, it doesn't change the pain of losing him, but when so many pets have their lives cut short and may never even get to leave an animal shelter or get to experience kindness from anyone as they live in the street, i'm glad that your cat at least crossed over peacefully on his own terms at a ripe old age in the outdoors, no signs of pain, injury or fear, he just drifted off to sleep where he was comfortable. You really make your cat come alive in my imagination with everything you tell me about him. I understand how you must miss this adorable fella. I have been there too, having burried a pet. And we dunno if we'll stay in Aus yet, husband's contract has 1.5 years left so we'll look for another job when it's closer to ending. I like the country but it's usually too hot for me, would be happy enough living in Sydney but still prefer some other places with weather I like more.

63?! That's super hot lol. Yeah it's been 20s-30s celcius here which is 80s to 90s f. Horrific, my ideal is living in a cooler place, something with around 40-50s f weather longterm. Oh, and clouds! Wearing boots and scarves is just so comfy.

Yeah bugs like biting me too. :( Especially mosquitoes. I know some people are more attractive to them than others and I guess I kind of ended up with that. lool

I'm exactly the same. Health anxiety is the absolute worst and I'll often feel like it's something serious when 99% of the time almost any health issue is related to something not life threatening. That's the thing I wish I could change most, sure I do have some health problems but everyone does (or will when they're a little older) and that's not something you can escape, especially when most of it won't kill you.

lol I got stung by a bee as a kid and I don't remember it at all but apparently it hurt a lot. I know they're mostly harmless and won't bother you but I can't help not wanting to be near them either :') Seems like we're pretty similar in that regard

The way they look is horrifying. Some I can tolerate, like flies, butterflies, ladybugs, dragonflies and maybe a few more, but most are eugh. Ants are okay but they also activate a panic in me very slightly since I know what ant infestations inside are like and how one usually means many. If they're outside that's okay though! stay away from mee

Have fun!! I would love to go too. Parents and I went to an all-inclusive trip to Mexico and Dominican Republic before, was a lot of fun. The flights always scared me though but that's just how I am. You're sure to enjoy it ~

I'm anticipating Elden Ring will take at least 100+ hours if not more.. seems like it's super long. And I totally get what you mean with co-op, some games just feel more immersive alone. Plus I think co-opping in this game makes enemies stronger so that can make it tougher if the people you play with aren't already good lol

ahh yeah I hate fireworks because of how much they can scare animals. It seems like the police never does anything either. I'm sure they confiscate some things but when we had horrible fireworks in 2021 for July 4th I kept reporting it on the police website and they marked it resolved within 10 minutes saying they came over and saw nothing. Yeah right lol.

NY state is a huge place! But NYC probably has far less of them if any. But NY state with how big it is and how many forests/mountains it has probably has a lot of animals. Part of why I'm scared to camp.. anywhere in the world really. snakes and bugs scare me a lot :x

Elden Ring is so hard I heard, not sure I can ever try it cause of that!! Madness how tough people say it is. Good luck, hope you can get through it and feel super content by the end after it all. My husband and his friends got it recently on Steam since it had a sale iirc, wonder how they'll go when they try to co-op it finally lol

There's lots of differences I think, even if it looks physically similar to US a lot of the time. National health insurance is one thing, medicine prices are also regulated here so companies can't go charging thousands of dollars for insulin or things like that, fireworks are nearly impossible for the average person to get so you'll never hear anyone set them off for holidays except the government, Australia only has around 26m people living in it too (California by itself has 39m!!), and more I forget. Not perfect here but definitely prefer it to the US. @_@

NY state is lovely. I love the mountain towns. Not so much the snake I saw swimming in the water near me when I was on vacation at a NY state cabin getaway a few years ago lol

The new BotW-like Zelda game looks like it'll be great. I found the first too overwhelming after playing just a little bit so I'll probably pass on it, but looking forward to watching others play. Seems like they took their time with it so I'm hoping it'll come out nice and polished.

Tax-free!! That sounds great. Taxes in the US and some other countries are so annoying, in Australia the listed price includes taxes so you know exactly what you're paying. If it says $2.99 then it will be exactly $2.99 and not $3.32 or something. Really wish every country would pick that up. Imagine being a kid and going to buy chips with $2 for a $1.99 bag, then being told nope it's actually more than $2 lol.

I think the company will have to try and force him out somehow, but he controls 80% of the board. It's 2023, you can't have people with records like his running public companies and expect not to lose money. I guess a sale might be on the horizon.

Alternate universe! It means it was basically another Ash with his own life, different to the one we were following until now. This Ash was back in Kanto with his mom and only seemed to have Pikachu that I could see. And I'd be soo sad if it was a long timeskip omg.. that's part of what made me sad about Korra. Knowing Aang and some of them were dead was just so sad v_v

and nope, no progress since. ;_; Got distracted picking Final Fantasy Maxima back up, so will be trying to finish that sometime. And yeah it's great that Stadium games are on the pass, but god I wonder when I'll not be lazy and play them again. Stadium is so fun!!

The anime was pretty decent, they both want to go their separate ways to travel at the end it seems but I do feel like the whole 'going on a journey' thing is a bit less dramatic now since the Journeys anime showed just how easy traveling across regions is with planes + having phones mean they can communicate easily too. But I liked it! Looking forward to watching the last (or second to last??) ep that just came out. Ash's team did peak this time around too in the coolness factor, it's such a great team for him :D I do wish he used his old Pokémon again sometimes though.. would be super nostalgic and a lot of fun.

yyyep XD is my first playthrough, I'm so late omg. I'm playing it suuper slowly. Got Xenoblade Definitive, Temtem which I bought on a 50% sale yesterday, and more.. I am swamped oof. I do like it so far though, chose Jolteon for my eeveelution \o/ Vaporeon would have been a very good choice but I've already used it so many times in other games.
