  • Mild drama and no links? For shame. You know I love drama.

And once again, longer response coming because right now, I have work to get ready for. I really need to get on the computer earlier.
FFFFF, I spent so long on tr/LJ/FW that your use of emoticons disturbed me.

    For the recipe cards, there's:

    peach cobbler
    shredded potatoes au Gratin
    Oatmeal Raisin cookies
    Strawberry Pound Cake
    Oatmeal cheesecake barrs
    Over-Fried Drumstick
    Citrus Meringue Pie
    Chocolate chip cookies
    Apple Crumble
    Chocolate Surprise cookies
    Marbled Chocolate brownies
    Best-ever Chocolate cake
    Mini apple pies
    Astinus's wonky capitalization and Grammar

All fifteen fourteen sound good? On Wednesday, I seriously need to start scanning in lots of stuff, like Peter Wiggin's grammar error and dance pose. And yes, scan. Which means that Peter Wiggin not knowing the rules of grammar is canon!

And I swear to God, if you make the strawberry pound cake, I am getting some.

And if you'd like to live in CT for a while, we're open. So long as you cook. I mean, I can get you a job at Ghetto Rite. As my assistant. *eyebrow wiggle*

This one was wrinkled and had black spots. It was a surprise when I found it in my salad. I was all "om nom nom onions are delicious! OH GOD THERE'S BURNING!" And tomato.

You forgot who you were talking to, right? I mean, I'm the one who swallowed half a pen of ink.

    You wish.

    Wait. What?

Actually, I think I was meant to be Spock in the gif, which meant that I was watching...

So how 'bout them Manticores? Don't know who the 'eff commands them, and they're not in the top ten standings! Go them!

As for driving, you know what's really bad? Ghetto Rite's parking lots. No matter which one it is, the driving there sucks. The one in my town? You can't park because people push you down the road. (So when I did park, it was kind of crooked, but I decided to screw it and went into the store. My mother stayed out in the car. A woman told my mother the car was crooked. I don't know how the problem would have fixed itself without me there, as I had the keys with me so the car couldn't move.) The parking lot at the one I work at is dangerous because it's wide open. People speed through all the time. And those who walk just stroll right into traffic. So you're jamming on the breaks all the time.

At least I never have to collect grocery carts again. Because people liked to aim for me. IDK.

Born in Washington, raised in Utah, maybe lived for a bit elsewhere. But he's lived in Greensboro since 1985-ish. But still, snow? They get snow down there in Greensboro. Not a lot, but enough so that he shouldn't be all confused and flailing when it happens.

It's Card. I think we know where Andy got his Andy-ness from.

Personally, I pinned him as demisexual. Why no, Andrew Wiggin isn't my soulbond. He doesn't seem like someone who actively looks for a relationship, but he'd still likes one. And I needed some way to explain why he went with Angel and saying that Andy's gay didn't seem right because he doesn't seem that way to me. So I figure that's why he at least would try to have a relationship with Novinha because he's attracted to her personality.

Novinha... I still don't know. I mean, she was raised in a Catholic community, so she couldn't be too promiscuous, but I'd like to think she'd would try. Unfortunately, she's female, so that means that Card doesn't deem her important enough to get much development besides "babby factory" even though the products are awesomely defective. I always did have a soft spot for Grego, especially since he tried to cut Andy's crotch off.

Maybe she and Andy sit around together and come up with ways to commit suicide without doing it themselves. It makes sense to them!

THE GAMES HAVE BEEN RELEASED AND WE'RE STILL GOING WTF!

Fortunately, PC is devoid of Fifth Generation fics for now. But hey, we got subforum changes! The changes we've been hoping for since 2007, but... YAY CHANGES!

I'm not looking forward to moving over all the completed fics.

I'M GONNA WRITE IT IN HOT PINK INK!

Unfortunately, I found an old notebook, looked through it, and found like ten unfinished Andrew/Angel fics and a few plot bunnies, and it's just sad how many fics I have to write about them.

Speaking of fics, I just have to say that while reading over the Pokemon Kink Meme, I automatically assume that all prompts about Bill involve you in some way. That is the truth, and I'm sticking with it.

Also, Magic Street. Has the line "In fact, knowing Puck, it probably wasn't a real fart."

Little boy butts/crotches and farts. Just how you know you're reading a Card book.

WHY DO I KEEP ENDING CONVERSATIONS/STORIES IN AWKWARD PLACES?
My parents received free baking recipes in the mail today. No one in this family (extended included) bakes, unless it comes from a box. And even that's no a guarantee. So I was wondering before the recipes are tossed if you'd like me to share them with you. Most of them are deserts, but there are side dishes included, from what I can see.

And I'll have a response to the VM when I'm not eating/about to leave for work/exhausted from work.
It fits the purpose intended I suppose! I know you as Jax, through the grape vine you hear these things. Shall I call you by that?

Eh, it's not like, "making me want to die right now I cannot do this" bad just yet, just I can see it going there. I should be going to University, but the thing is, I'll be studying what I like there and not all this drab I don't need to know, they're assessing me on how well I can memorize text from a book a little else! Are you in school then? School being an umbrella term here~

Countless Earthlings I think, I know how you feel, I need something myself. Just hoping something will fall on my doorstep. Ah good, it's new to me to hear "baking" to be something you do on your birthday, but hey, whatever makes you happy I guess. Birthdays get less, uh, exciting as the years go by though it's true.
Opposed to calling me by my PC alias just call me Gav/Gavin/Abby, whatever suits you I suppose XD
But I've been doing well, to be frank, senior year is stressing though yes I'm still young don't shoot me. Especially here in Europe, it's a drag at how much they expect you to disregard any form of a social life. And yourself? Did your birthday go well?
So I scared a customer when I looked at my phone, remembered why this date was important, and went "Oh my effin' God!" Then I ran down the aisles to get to a computer, where I proceeded to refresh these forums every ten minutes in order to get on.

    CURSE YOU BLACK AND WHITE!

Happy birthday, btw. So, like your present is a snae Astinus? Or something better when I'm awake and not scaring customers. Which I do all the time. :(
Heh, weird one for you; ironically I was viewing our conversation quite literally yesterday evening, as I do when I venture to a profile I've not been on in some time, I noticed I had wished you a happy birthday last year (not checking the date), now I've just noticed it's that time of year again. I hadn't realized I've been here long enough to wish you a second, so, at that, I'll keep up the trend and wish you a happy birthday regardless of how little we've talked in oh, the last 11 months.
Carp, I thought your birthday was on the 23rd...

    Eh, what the hell.

    [css-span="text-decoration:blink; text-shadow:0em 0em 0.5em black;"]Happy Birthday![/css-span]

    Erm uhh...

Your birthday present will maybe come in the next week or so, depending on if I remember to get you that pic.
Quick note: I ate an expired tomato. :(

Quick note part deux: I had the day off from work, and that's why this response was so quick.

Could be like the 50's and 60's, where songs are either mean or about stalking!

    "There is someone
    Standing behind you
    Turn around
    Look at me
    There is someone
    Watching your footsteps
    Turn around
    Look at ~me~!"

As for that song, this is my reaction to that. I honestly didn't think when I saved that gif last night that I would be able to use it that quickly.

Also, just what are you implying by that song fitting my VM? o_o

And like the title to the companion song of my favorite Digimon song: MOVING ON!

The one problem that I find is that the mattress wears out quickly because it's so thin. I'm already feeling some metal pieces poke into me.

That, and dear Lord, I can't fold that bed up without falling onto it. But I am a klutz, so...

Driving itself isn't horrible. It's kind of like riding a bike. So start pedaling and Digivolve? The thing with driving is that there's always going to be asses out on the road that you have to watch out for. No matter how good of a driver you are, the people around you could be horrible.

I mean, I come from a line of good drivers. (We're good breeding stock? idgi) It's like, you gotta know your car, understand it, how it works, it's little nuances. Once the car is understood, and you know your own skill, you can take a few risks. I'm never going to take corners at seventy miles-per-hour, or weave through traffic on the highway. In fact, going five miles over the speed limit when I'm the only one on the road is the only risk that I've taken, and probably will take.

    Cars are not toys.

And now I remember how Card once spun out on the highway because he was like "What's this fluffy white stuff falling from the sky and sticking to the ground? O_O" And then he falls on his ass while walking up the driveway.

Noooooooo, you have awakened the beast!

It kind of makes sense for Andy, since he really wants to be a father and to have a normal family. The idea behind a heteronormative family was pushed onto him a bit in Exile. (The poor girl involved I felt should have been more screwed up, but in Card's universe, women are for breedin'!) That, and how he just wanted to experience normal family life in some way. Having children is a big deal to him.

Novinha... I haven't ever really explored her character too much yet. I don't know. Maybe she just married Andrew because he's hot. :| Even though he's gay. I mean, he cries in bed.

Well, there is Dark Raid and Dark Raid ][, so... So maybe some day there will be Dark Raid l;akghl;gh. AND IT WILL BE GOOD.

As for Isshu fics, how the gently caress does one write about a region where we only knew the name of one city? And it's not even the starting town? And...and...

This thread on fandomsecrets is about the only Fifth Generation fic I'd like to read NOW.

Though the thread contains people arguing about the canon characterization of the player characters in a game that's not out yet. :|

    :|

Ha...this will give me a chance to play with one of my favorite lines in a short story!

It's started in my mind, so all I have left to do is scribble it out, type it up, and then PM it away with the warning of spoilers for "The Investment Councilor"! >:]

I swear to God I read that line in A War of Gifts, but like hell I'm digging that book out.

And the comic... The comic actually scares me. Like literally scares me and makes me want to cry.

    It's more like "WHY WON'T I UNCLENCH!"

What is it with Card and little boy butts?

Icky... I need to clean my mind now. :(

HOLY--! I nearly forgot about the Sentret Brigade! Yeah, idk what's up with that. And I like how it's already buried under fifty "I LIKE POKEMON :D:D:D:D:D:D!!!!!" groups.
    ANSWER TO CAPSLOCK: THIS SONG. I'M A MAN! I'M A MAN! I'M A MAN!

WHAT DO OUR VOYEURS WIN? A ROUSING GOOD SHOW?

    Quotes!

The fortunate thing with me is that my bed is a sleeper sofa, so I can fold it up when I need room, or leave it down when I'm lazy. But my current bedroom is small, and everything I own fits in it nicely. So I figure once I get to my apartment, I'm just going to look around and go "So much room!" and not know what to do with all the space.

*insert stereotype of bad Asian drivers?*

I don't know what happened tonight, but I drove perfectly. Including backing up, which always gave me problems. Maybe it was to offset last night, where I took corners at forty-five miles-per-hour.

It's even worse in Xenocide. (To infinity and beSPOILERS!) To paraphrase:

Novinha: "The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want."
Andrew: "My God! My God! Why have you forsaken me?"
Novinha: "Really? Really? That's the psalm you quote?"

And then Andy sits on a hill and pouts about how alone he is. That man...

It smells like wang in here! >:[

And I read the first two sentences of the story and... I'm done. Just...done. "you're breakfast is done!" Just... And people are seriously suggesting a way to turn off comments in the fanfiction section because reviews "disturb the ~flow~ of the story." Really? Really?

Then why are you posting your story online if you don't want people to comment?! aaaaaaaaaaaaa

WHY IS THAT SO DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND!

Hahahaha... And the other admin posted a review that praised how the admin's story is in present tense so that makes it good. When it's not in present tense, but past tense.

And what the heck is "][" supposed to be? Fancy-shmancy Roman numeral II?

ikr? I mean, I debated a bit about an Isshu fic, and once I saw more B/W Pokemon, I decided that I'd try to write one. But I filed the extremely basic idea for later because I don't have a clue about B/W and all its features. Why were people writing Isshu fics when we only knew two Pokemon?

Hey, that's one thing PokeFarm did right. They aren't going to have Fifth Generation Pokemon until after the games are released in America. You have to applaud them on that.

About events, it's like events on DragonCave. You have some warning that it's going to happen, and the event happens for two days. So the server explodes on the first day as everyone tries to get the event, but then things die down and everyone who wants one can get one. It's also good on DC because a limit is set on events. One person can have two event dragons, and that's it. It's not like what I notice on PF, where the same person can have thirty event Pokemon and I just want one.

When am I not writing slash? I have a talent for writing Andy/Angel fics in five minutes. All I need is a prompt, when in the time line it takes place, and ba-bing. I scribble things out, and they're just amazing. Like, my favorite fanfiction pieces ever.

Oh you mean like the cover of Magic Street? (Which you should read. I mean, it has the line "PUCK YOU GIANT FAIRY COME HOME" and two pages about that one line.) The book's about an African-American boy who's very dark-skinned and is raised in a completely African-American neighborhood, and no one in the book is white. And the cover? Has a white boy on it.

It's kind of like the Battle School in the comics. Crazy Tom? Jamaican. In the comics? White, blond, blue-eyed. (>_> Angel?) Alai? Extremely dark-skinned Indian. In the comics? Light-skinned.

I'm sorry, but Andy is supposed to be the only canon pasty white boy.

With how many times Bean's toilet habits are described in Shadow, that seems so likely. And well, he did live in a toilet for a while.

Goddamn, I really should not write VMs in work when I'm in a hurry and have people looking over my shoulder wondering why I'm on Pokemon websites.

At least the conversation isn't left off on Bean's toilet habits? Oh wait...

Huzzuh! The end of this answers your question on if breaking my elbow was worth it.
I'm at work now, and so I'm just going to say: Things are awesome, and <3

    Just <3

You'll have semi-snae Asty when I get home? And I'll send you a PM later. When I'm not on the clock.
Ah the interrobang. How often that point comes up. I guess it's because I always treat punctuation in fiction as something formal, which is why I rarely use capitals for screams or double punctuation. I dunno, that's what I usually correct in reviews these days, but now I'll be sure to mention your point too then.
I'm not good with rhetoric, so I don't know if I was meant to answer this or not. No one seems to answer my questions when I respond to reviews. XD; In any case, I think you'd do better to have it as its own line. Also, removing 'then' from 'Then, when she realized…' would make it stand out better. To me, it would give that abrupt effect you were looking for in the first place without having to remove too much description.
I actually meant Rose but didn't mention her because I was hoping to avoid spoilers for first-time readers. Embarrassingly, I forgot all about Thompson despite how epic you make him sound to be. That's the problem with posting online. You can never get in the flow of the story properly because the chapters come in installments.
And when I read "Scotty on a plane" I thought of "Snakes on a Plane", so... I'm sick and tired of these mother-effin' Scotties on this mother-effin' plane.

You know, Scotty was never meant to be stupid. He was supposed to be the shining light of the Wiggin family, passing college with straight As, becoming a wizard ("You're a wizard, Scotty!"), and having magic butt-babies (that's totally normal in this family) while going into politics to legalize drugs his daddies' marriage.

Instead, I get...Scotty. :| Mr. Let Me Fly Around Naked And Crash Into Houses. ~~~~WHILE SPARKLING!~~~~

Heyheyheyhey, when Andy was your age, he wandered across the universe without a duffel bag or a spare change of clothes apparently. But for me, personally, I need a U-haul truck. I love my desk, matching bookcase, and matching TV stand too bloody much to leave them behind.

Shipping all of them together (er, the Andrew "Ender" Wiggins, not my furniture) is kind of adorable when you know what they look like. You have MegaMan's little brother, brooding angsty tall teenager, a GQMF, Andy, and a pouting puppy. I swear, the Game comic Ender always looks like a puppy that's just been kicked.

It's even more confusing in the Sims, because Andy gave birth to Ender. Indeed.

PokeFarm... It amuses me, like I said. Since there's no test to take before signing up like on GPX+, everyone and their dog can join. These leads to lulzy members, who proceed to bother the staff. And then the staff go "Write in proper English, please!" But, well... AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH. It's better than it was. Before, all the posts were this shade of red on this shade of green. It brought back memories of badly-designed websites. After my eyes stopped bleeding.

The site is also hilarious because a member could massclick to get over 100,000 clicks in order to receive an event Pokemon, but will get passed over, and the event will go to someone who only clicked 2,000 times. IDGI. So, like, even though I've done nothing but click for several days enough that my elbow is stuck in a bent position, I might not get the bloody event I've been trying for. And since it's breedable, I could stalk the Shelter to find an egg, but people are like "I MUST HAVE ALL THE EVENTS TO MYSELF!" And I'm like ":("

Yet I keep clicking on that site. I blame my Unown collection. They're adorable. :3

:V After writing a kickedpuppy!Ender/MegaMan'slittlebrother!Ender slash scene in my mind, I went to a dirty place.

IDK about VDex. I like sites that allow me to be really active if I'd like to be, and to disappear if I'd like to, and yet nothing changes. Plus, money. I will admit that I like money. Except in the Sims. Because it's hilarious to see the Wiggins have nothing but a bathtub to play in.

So...mafia member Andy (I think that's Andy? o_O For once, I have no clue) is brofisting a piggy. That's how the ending should have happened. With Andy and the piggies and Milagre all become bros.

Oh God. Now I'm picturing Andy as a drunk frat boy. :( ... Actually... :D

I'm always interested in seeing how else Ender's Game can be told. Musicals, ice skating, Internet memes (Petra; "O RLY?" Bean: "YA RLY! THE GAME IS A LIE!" And all the Buggers were anon masks)...

Speaking of musicals, you know whose songs spot-on perfectly fit Andy/Angel? Taylor Swift. "You Belong With Me" becomes a lot more amazing when I imagine Angel singing it. Or "Teardrops On My Guitar", which is about someone who plays the guitar (which Angel does in the Sims!) liking an oblivious guy named Drew. Indeed.

    Holy crap, long.
When I read that you wouldn't be able to take Exile with you, my first thought was "Andy is a terrorist." That's really making me laugh. I think that's the easiest explanation, anyhow. Though it would make more sense if we're talking Empire or Hidden Empire, the former especially.

But the question of Andy and puberty came to mind while I was in work. I was left alone with my thoughts, so I went from shipping all the different forms of Andrew "Ender" Wiggin together (the different StarScape book covers which apparently shamed Card so much he pretends they don't exist though I have proof!, the two comics, and Andy for the hell of it) to wondering about his teenagehood. Because he spends two years on a ship but doesn't grow an inch. And he's on the ship from the age of thirteen to fifteen, so one would think that he would grow a bit, but...nope. The uniform he wore at the age of twelve still fits him at the age of fifteen. In my personal canon, he's short, but according to Card, he's apparently tall (or something, the line's in Speaker during the Speaking), so some mention of how the uniform is severely biting Andy in the crotch?

I was going to say "And he's bad at relationships as a teenager", but...well... Ha. He's amusing. Both in Card's canon and my own, Andy just flails in relationships (except with his sister). And except in the Sims, because I'm a sap and think to myself "NO YOU CAN'T FALL UNDER 100/100 IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP! ANDY, HUG ANGEL!" and Andy goes "why the eff do i have to hug Angel?" and then makes a sad pout because Angel leaves the room and Andy still doesn't know how to use a doorway.

PokeFarm is most amusing for their staff. They don't have enough moderators on their forums, so pages can get up to three or four pages before a staff member is like "oh hey, we should probably lock this...except not" and then another staffer comes along and is like "what's going on???" And it's just all amusing. There were other things too. Like how the fanfiction section makes ff.net's noobs look literate. And of course, everyone who posts their story on the forums is like "plz PM me so no one can see how much i fail :("

Ooooo, VDex. I was thinking of joining, but haven't fully decided yet. idk.

I am partially ashamed to admit that I have done 15,144 clicks on PokeFarm in around four days. Damn. Get a life, Astinus.

    *This is an amazing cover.

**Nope. Wait. One of the StarScape covers is on the site, but not the newest one. I have to scan it in someday.
Um, so apparently your PM kind of helped me out, because the problem seems to have resolved itself faster than I expected. Maybe because the way I fixed it changed? idk.

We'll talk more later, since I'm focusing on getting an event on PokeFarm, and my mind is mainly wondering if Andy ever went through puberty in canon. I'm leaning towards no on that one.
Yeah I know what you mean, PC loads really quickly. I just registered last night actually for PC and I love it so far.
