  • I've never used a boolprop cheat in any of my houses. The only things that I use are downloaded hacks. Just a lot more easier. Except that I have to make sure everything is updated for the new expansion pack.

And your game sounds more fun than mine. I just have fun with three-bolt couples and a really dense sim who doesn't know how to use a counter correctly to cook.

    As for my knowledge of all things Ender's Game, I'm one of the few people out there that know that much. It's pretty much just me and this guy who wrote an encyclopedia that's going to be published. Not even the author can really keep things straight. XD;

    I want cookies. ;_;
Sorry for the late response, m'dear.

    So, it's your fault....? *a blood-thirsty look*

    *flee!*

I hate character and word limits for a specific reason. Because I study English as a foreign language, they don't expect me to really be able to write anything sensible in English. Thus, our essays and book reviews and such have a word limit - of 200 freakin' words. Have you ever tried to write a book review in only 200 words?

I tried. And failed. XD So, I totally see where you're coming from.

You made me feel a lot better...

Aww. I'm glad to hear that. =3

(moreover, I haven't been outside today.)

    Outside is overrated. :<
You're still talking as if you're being forced to talk :(

No, not much of a drawing for now. The site that you told me about was pretty useful, specially the photoshop tutorial. The basics tutorial helped me learn a thing or two too, but I already knew most of them before. Tell me if you find another site which has more of the basic starter's stuff. I'll be glad if you did...
My Sims 2 downloads folder is mostly hacks needed to make my game playable. For example, the "No Baby Swarm" hack. My stupid sims, if I ever left them alone for five seconds and there was a baby/toddler in the house, would go bother the kid so it couldn't eat/sleep/play/pee. Most of my hacks are of that nature, but then there are the few that I use because it makes the game more interesting, especially with the sims I have. (Preg4all hack, I love you. Natural mpreg for the win!)

And yes, even with the amount of expansion/stuff packs that I have, there are just no normal walls/floors for my Sims. Or good bedding. I have a lot of custom bedding. That, and clothes.

Okay, so my Downloads folder is made up of a lot of random things. XD Default skin for both aliens and Sims, default eyes for both, default eyebrows...

Some foreign covers of Ender's Game are downright scary. The Brazilian one, the Netherlands one, the Polish one (which made me want to keyboard-smash in fright), and the Romanian one are the worst. The Hungarian cover is my second favorite (after the United States young adult one). And the Israeli one is just really amusing. It has the Starship Enterprise on it. XD
I'm not back totally. I've just been busy getting all my downloads for my Sims 2 game back (and I still don't have all of them yet). Plus, I had increased hours at my work, and I didn't feel like being here. But then I came back this morning to find that my section had...exploded. So I get to spend the next three days off from work cleaning up PFF&P!
Actually, the character limit on VMs was a vBulletin thing. I saw it on another forum, where people had to cut their messages short because of that limit. But in a sense, I did have something to do with getting rid of the limit. I asked about it, and I guess that was enough (or part of why) it's now gone.

    Enjoy your longer messages!
Hello, An-chan. I just wanted you to know that I will be pretty much gone for the week. Someone had this idea, where I would be a great host for a three-days long collegue seminar and it's not like I can say no. I'll most positively be back next Thu with an answer about the hosting space for our QFA, too.

Have a nice time, unlike me :D
Eh, I'm a little less sleepy today, but still tired since I was woken up about five-and-a-half hours into my slumber. Time to continue the craziness.

I wouldn't doubt that a few admins/mods saw VM's like this and thought "that's a lot of clutter. Character limit!" Not sure why they would care so much, but eh *shrugs*

Who was it that started the Chainsaw Chanseys then? I can't really remember too well as that was a while ago, and I am far too lazy to trace it back XD

I actually challenged myself further by setting personal records and trying to beat them. I stopped caring so much when I got my time down below three minutes and haven't really touched it since. The other stuff is quite handy, though. The clock isn't necessary since it's in the taskbar anyway, but it still looks effing awesome. The notepad is useful for jotting ideas down if I'm afraid I'll forget before my notepad application opens. And of course, you can't forget the currency converter. It's fun looking up random amounts of USD and seeing how much that would be in other currencys.

It's kind of funny actually, since our carbonated beverages are measured in ounces and liters whilst other things are measured by gallons and half gallons. We are a strange country o.O

Lmao, I wouldn't be surprised if the US decided to change the way they measure time. Instead of having one minute as sixty seconds, we would probably make it fourty seconds or something. We just like to confuse the rest of the world.

Lol, I already have a pretty good idea of the plot of the book, since I live with a hardcore fan of the series and am engaged to another. I think I could rewrite the entire series with everything they have told me and the ease of writing Sues. I, too, laughed the first time I heard any real synopsis of the books. I kinda just rolled my eyes and said "another Harry Potter-esque story." Funny enough, one of the main characters of the fourth movie ended up playing the main character of Twilight. I still think they should have gone with Daniel Radcliff though. That would have been just too perfect.

Saying "deaf" is insulting? That's rather amusing. I have noticed a lot of groups getting steamed over stuff like that lately though. A coffee house formerly called Beaners, which is like Starbucks, had to change their name because it was supposedly offensive to Mexican Americans. That made me LOL, mostly because any child with an IQ over fifty would know that Beaners was just a reference to the coffee beans and that they were essentially calling their workers beaners. Just some funny stuff going on in the world.

Lol, if I ever hear of some famous Finnish author, then I'm just going to assume it's you and confront you about it over another crazy-long VM. Then I'll demand that you send me an autographed copy of the book and invite me to your mansion so we can have a Pogeymans battle XD And, since I'll be an insanely famous author as well, I'll return the favor. The funny thing is that even if I am a world famous author, I'll probably still be writing Pokemon FanFiction. Maybe some poetry, but I don't know.

If you want to conquer the world, then you'll have to go through me first! I shall rule this earth with my army of Splashing Magikarp! Seriously, Magikarp = win :D

Lol, I haven't tried to stay up more than two nights since that time, which was five years ago, so I think I should be somewhat healthy. Well, except for the fact that I can't sleep well at night, and whenever I do fall asleep, it's never a deep sleep.

Don't worry, I only died for a few hours. I'm alive now though :D

Oh, and IComeAnon6 offered to be a reviewer for the archive. I've read some of his work already and it's really good, so I think he should be added to the list. Whoa, I just realized that he wrote the Gary-Stu parody. I was thinking back to another fic he was writing when I joined the forum.
Oh. lol. I just checked it out. I also saw some posts of yours in the fanfic section. I am newbie here... As you can see. -To An-Chan
Indeed, yes it was me that added you! ^^ You can tell since my username was bay115. XD
No, I definitely wasn't expecting an answer like that. That's not to say it wasn't a good reply, though.

So, to respond to your separate sentences:

    You're welcome.

Really? I don't recall you ever making yourself look unintelligent in any of your posts I've seen.

No, not at all. I don't judge people until I get to know them better.

And yes, you were wrong. Good to see that some people can accept the fact that they make mistakes.

I'm alright. Meant to be revising geography, but I don't want to think about the Spanish inquisition for now so I'm just killing time.

And yes. Odd. I thought I had less than five hundred.
Lol, bring on the stalkers. If we catch 'em then we can set our Sentrets with flamethrowers and our Chanseys with chainsaws on them XD

I happen to have 2GB of RAM (Yay for graduation gifts!), so I really have no trouble running Vista, it's more a matter of what features are only there to clutter up my screen and what I actually want to have. I did get rid of the sidebar for a while, but the giant customizable clock and the puzzle boxes kind of grew on me. I love a good puzzle, and who can't love a cat-like clock named "Your Mother"?

I'm much too lazy to mess with the security settings in Vista, but the only time I have really had to allow anything is when Avast! updates or I decide to play Frets on Fire or whatnot. Java applications usually require me to press that allow button as well, but I can live with that. Considering I spend most of my time on my computer now either here, writing, or researching for my fictions, I rarely ever run into that security pop-up issue.

I was never really a fan of XP to begin with. The only things I prefer in XP over this is the network controls and stuff like that. I had grown used to messing with network devices in XP, and they changed a lot of stuff in that area when they made Vista. They wanted the network to be more secure for Vista computers, I guess. Still rather annoying, though.

Yes, thank Odin that the character limit has been removed. (Note: I don't really worship Viking Gods, I just enjoy referencing them from time to time XD) It would really suck to have to split each of these posts up to actually keep up with the conversation.

The difference in systems of measurement is quite unfortunate, and also the driving issues. I mean, why can't every country stick to a single standard of measurement for everything instead of confusing the entire world with five different ways to measure the same thing? (exaggeration, but oh well). It makes it particularly hard for people like us who live in completely different parts of the world (well, in terms of continents. We pretty much occupy the same Lattitudes) that have stuck to opposite forms of measurement our entire lives. This problem is only in length and temperature I believe, though. I'm fairly certain that America goes by the SI units for volume and mass (obviously, as I don't think there are other measurements of mass). That is, unless Finland doesn't measure anything by the gallon? I'm a little rusty on my SI st00f considering the last science class I was in was during my Junior year of High School (circa 2006).

I agree. I have aspirations to be a published author someday, and if we are both to become famous, then we need to conspire to publish these before it's too late. Hmm, I wonder how International Copyright Laws work in this case?

In the case of this novel, we should also throw in random allusions to a vampire boy falling in love with a human girl (LOL!) The funny thing about that, though, is that I actually went to see the movie this past weekend with my sister and fiance. And, it pains me to say this, it was okay. However, I thought that if they were to use a character from Harry Potter, than it should have been Daniel Radcliff instead of the guy that played Cedric Diggory. I just couldn't help but make jokes about him the entire movie.

One example of such a joke was in a serious part of the movie. Edward had told Bella that she should just go, and they had argued about that for a time, then he says to her, all serious, "Where would I go?" This, of course, was followed by a response from me that was along the lines of "You could go to Hogwarts." My fiance had a hard time stiffling a giggle when I made that remark.

Ahhhh!!!!! Conspiracy! Conspiracy! I think they actually proved the link between the twin tower attacks: the time of the day, the date of the attacks, and the Emergency number of the US. I mean, doesn't that seem like waaaayyy too many coincidences to occur in one terrorism attack?

Another thing about conspiracy theorys: a (former) friend of mine seems convinced that the US presidential election was a set up to assassinate Barrack Obama and, I quote, "show those [African American's] there place!" (I replaced a much harsher word with African American because I find the other word way too offensive and am uncomfortable even quoting it.) He even went so far as to suggest that John McCain is a member of the Ku Klux Klan and lost the election on purpose. He then tried to shove his intolerant views on me, which was that African Americans are an "inferior" race. I rejected this philosophy, however, and I haven't talked to him since.

Mine actually just did the update request again. I set mine to go off in every hour in hopes that I will have crashed by then, but so far no luck. Oh well, should happen soon.

I actually don't consume too much caffeine anymore, to be honest. I don't drink energy drinks at all, and I only drink soft drinks with light amounts of caffeine. I really don't know what is messing with my sleep >=[ And don't worry too much; I have no plans of dying until I publish at least six books. Maybe seven. Seven sounds like a good number. Of course, I could just go up to 666 books and quit there XD

So far, the only fic I have finished was that One-Shot, but that doesn't really count. The first fiction I ever wrote was a Pokemorph fiction in fourth grade that was extremely generic and, to be honest, stupid. I have no idea what possessed me to even think I could get away with writing that.

The second fic I ever wrote was a generic, extremely cliched OT where the main character started off in Kanto along with his cousin (I used both mine and my cousins names for the main characters, actually) and basically followed the paths of the games. It was poorly written, however, and involved the capturing of several legendary Pokemon, the worst of which was an Entei in chapter three, before I discontinued it because of the death of my cousin. I discontinued it after probably seven or eight chapters, and couldn't bring myself to write any more in it after my cousin died.

The third fic I wrote is actually the Fall of Light. I took quite a break between that OT fic and this one. It started off pretty bad, actually, but I have revised it several times to fix many, many obvious errors. I'm still not satisfied, but I'm going to wait to do a complete revision until I have finished it.

My One-shot was next, followed several months later by a fiction I wrote only a prologue of in September I think and haven't updated since, and Affliction soon followed. I plan on rotating through them to keep them all updated regularly, however, so that none get too neglected. Next up is Apocolypse XD

I actually forgot that you asked me about the parody. I'm still chugging along at that. Still stalking PFF regulars and memorable writers to figure out how to best portray them. I have done little more than take notes so far, and will probably start characterizing people pretty soon. I had thought that the parody would be done by now, but I guess I set too short of a time limit on myself.

As for staying up late, I have survived five nights in a row playing an online game. This was sixth grade, mind you, and the best I have done since is two nights, probably around 50 hours. Yeah, I'm a little insane XD

I think this could be like two chapters here lol
Eh, still alive so far. I'll probably crash pretty soon though, as I ran out of any beverage containing any amount of caffeine hours ago.

I have heard plenty good about Opera, but I have also heard that the interface is quite different from IE or Firefox. I'll download it and experiment until I either get the hang of it or get tired of it, but I still would prefer Firefox :(

As far as I've seen, it's possible. It takes a little bit of work and the patience to endure several possible reinstallations until you do it right, but the outcome is worth it. At one point I have XP, Vista, and Ubuntu dual-booting on my laptop. I ended up messing it up, however, and had to reinstall them again. I decided that I didn't care much for XP anymore at that point and only reinstalled Vista and Ubuntu.

Vista works fine if you have the corporate edition like I have. Sure, the security is a little ridiculous, but they wanted to make sure that unsigned programs had a harder time accessing your computer without your permission. As long as you take the time to learn how to get around the security features (or not to accidentally bypass them, for that matter) then it becomes a lot easier to use.

I'm a little surprised that the U.S. hasn't switched over to the SI system yet. Just about every other major country in the world is doing it, so we should at least conform in that way. Seriously, would it be that much harder to measure in centimeters or celsius? However, I must admit that the origin of the "foot" is quite interesting. Some British king (I forgot which one, and I think he was British) commanded that the standard unit of length would be one third of the length of his arm, which measured to be thirty-six inches. So that thirty-six divided by three equals twelve (obviously), which set the unit of length to that. My history lesson of the day, I guess.

Yeah, I think we should write a novel based on our VM's. Each message could be one chapter XD We could call it An-chan and POB: Behind the Scenes or something like that.

Lol, if we were to write a novel based on our VM's then it would have to include the source of the humour behind the "by the ways", or at least a reference to it in some way XD This would be with the permission of the girl that wrote those storys, of course (by the way, I hear she writes Star Wars pairings and whatnot now? :o)

Yeah, it's now about 7:20 at my time of typing this sentence. 7:21, to be exact. Our number for emergency is quite easy actually; it's just 911. I wonder, is the number in Finland the same, or is it different?

Gahh, Windows keeps wanting to update. Blast you, Microsoft! *shakes fist into the air angrily.* I don't think we should include that in the novel. The Microsoft evil cyborg-monkeys will hunt and kill us if we do.

I, too, hope that I get over this insomnia. I have only been able to sleep well one night in the past three weeks, and I was up north at the time. Well, further north than I live anyway, which is actually in more of southern Michigan than northern. Lol, random, redundant tangent that had no real point. I am definitely tired.

But yeah, if I don't answer or appear inactive, then I probably just crashed. It's about my body's self-proclaimed bed time anyway (why, body, why!?!) Just gotta see if anyone has reviewed my latest chapter yet. I'm actually very anxious about that, considering it's the first chapter I have posted in that fiction since June =\

But, hey, at least I'm active on that one again and am that much closer to finishing it :D
I'm sure you won't always be a n00b with grammar. I mean, you're progressing well enough already. It's really just a matter of time with that aspect of English.

    Actually, I was using Windows, but I had already partitioned my hard disk before it had crashed, so I had an empty partition I had previously planned to use for Linux (more precisely, knoppix at the time), and I hoped that just using that partition would allow me to recover my files. Sadly, it did not work. So (most of) everything is lost forever ;_;

As for two different Windows OS's being on the same hard disk, that is perfectly possible as far as I have seen. I've dual-booted XP and Vista on one hard disk without any trouble. I think you just have to partition the drive before installing the second OS (whichever that may be.) Also, when I installed Windows again, a boot menu would appear asking me which Windows version I wanted to boot. Whenever I chose the corrupted one, however, it still had the same error. I was supposed to be able to fix it, but I guess Windows doesn't like to be fixed since it wouldn't rewrite the data it was missing.

Ooooohhhhhh. I see why Astinus was unusually harsh the other day. I feel a lot of sympathy for her now. I know how much it sucks to lose so much stuff that took you a long time to get. I feel even worse about my post in the FFL now...

I'm not entirely sure about the size pages we use. I think it's like 8.5" x 11.5" or something. Not entirely sure about the 11.5" though. That may require a bit of research. To the Googlemobile! (Yeah, cheesey I know.)

I can't even run Firefox on my computer. It keeps saying something like "That process is already running" whenever I try to open it. I've tried a clean install and everything, too. I've even looked at my process list, but it's NOT THERE! So I'm stuck with IE for the time being, which works alright as long as I don't get any viruses. And I have Avast! making sure I stay virus-free :D
