Lol, bring on the stalkers. If we catch 'em then we can set our Sentrets with flamethrowers and our Chanseys with chainsaws on them XD
I happen to have 2GB of RAM (Yay for graduation gifts!), so I really have no trouble running Vista, it's more a matter of what features are only there to clutter up my screen and what I actually want to have. I did get rid of the sidebar for a while, but the giant customizable clock and the puzzle boxes kind of grew on me. I love a good puzzle, and who can't love a cat-like clock named "Your Mother"?
I'm much too lazy to mess with the security settings in Vista, but the only time I have really had to allow anything is when Avast! updates or I decide to play Frets on Fire or whatnot. Java applications usually require me to press that allow button as well, but I can live with that. Considering I spend most of my time on my computer now either here, writing, or researching for my fictions, I rarely ever run into that security pop-up issue.
I was never really a fan of XP to begin with. The only things I prefer in XP over this is the network controls and stuff like that. I had grown used to messing with network devices in XP, and they changed a lot of stuff in that area when they made Vista. They wanted the network to be more secure for Vista computers, I guess. Still rather annoying, though.
Yes, thank Odin that the character limit has been removed. (Note: I don't really worship Viking Gods, I just enjoy referencing them from time to time XD) It would really suck to have to split each of these posts up to actually keep up with the conversation.
The difference in systems of measurement is quite unfortunate, and also the driving issues. I mean, why can't every country stick to a single standard of measurement for everything instead of confusing the entire world with five different ways to measure the same thing? (exaggeration, but oh well). It makes it particularly hard for people like us who live in completely different parts of the world (well, in terms of continents. We pretty much occupy the same Lattitudes) that have stuck to opposite forms of measurement our entire lives. This problem is only in length and temperature I believe, though. I'm fairly certain that America goes by the SI units for volume and mass (obviously, as I don't think there are other measurements of mass). That is, unless Finland doesn't measure anything by the gallon? I'm a little rusty on my SI st00f considering the last science class I was in was during my Junior year of High School (circa 2006).
I agree. I have aspirations to be a published author someday, and if we are both to become famous, then we need to conspire to publish these before it's too late. Hmm, I wonder how International Copyright Laws work in this case?
In the case of this novel, we should also throw in random allusions to a vampire boy falling in love with a human girl (LOL!) The funny thing about that, though, is that I actually went to see the movie this past weekend with my sister and fiance. And, it pains me to say this, it was okay. However, I thought that if they were to use a character from Harry Potter, than it should have been Daniel Radcliff instead of the guy that played Cedric Diggory. I just couldn't help but make jokes about him the entire movie.
One example of such a joke was in a serious part of the movie. Edward had told Bella that she should just go, and they had argued about that for a time, then he says to her, all serious, "Where would I go?" This, of course, was followed by a response from me that was along the lines of "You could go to Hogwarts." My fiance had a hard time stiffling a giggle when I made that remark.
Ahhhh!!!!! Conspiracy! Conspiracy! I think they actually proved the link between the twin tower attacks: the time of the day, the date of the attacks, and the Emergency number of the US. I mean, doesn't that seem like waaaayyy too many coincidences to occur in one terrorism attack?
Another thing about conspiracy theorys: a (former) friend of mine seems convinced that the US presidential election was a set up to assassinate Barrack Obama and, I quote, "show those [African American's] there place!" (I replaced a much harsher word with African American because I find the other word way too offensive and am uncomfortable even quoting it.) He even went so far as to suggest that John McCain is a member of the Ku Klux Klan and lost the election on purpose. He then tried to shove his intolerant views on me, which was that African Americans are an "inferior" race. I rejected this philosophy, however, and I haven't talked to him since.
Mine actually just did the update request again. I set mine to go off in every hour in hopes that I will have crashed by then, but so far no luck. Oh well, should happen soon.
I actually don't consume too much caffeine anymore, to be honest. I don't drink energy drinks at all, and I only drink soft drinks with light amounts of caffeine. I really don't know what is messing with my sleep >=[ And don't worry too much; I have no plans of dying until I publish at least six books. Maybe seven. Seven sounds like a good number. Of course, I could just go up to 666 books and quit there XD
So far, the only fic I have finished was that One-Shot, but that doesn't really count. The first fiction I ever wrote was a Pokemorph fiction in fourth grade that was extremely generic and, to be honest, stupid. I have no idea what possessed me to even think I could get away with writing that.
The second fic I ever wrote was a generic, extremely cliched OT where the main character started off in Kanto along with his cousin (I used both mine and my cousins names for the main characters, actually) and basically followed the paths of the games. It was poorly written, however, and involved the capturing of several legendary Pokemon, the worst of which was an Entei in chapter three, before I discontinued it because of the death of my cousin. I discontinued it after probably seven or eight chapters, and couldn't bring myself to write any more in it after my cousin died.
The third fic I wrote is actually the Fall of Light. I took quite a break between that OT fic and this one. It started off pretty bad, actually, but I have revised it several times to fix many, many obvious errors. I'm still not satisfied, but I'm going to wait to do a complete revision until I have finished it.
My One-shot was next, followed several months later by a fiction I wrote only a prologue of in September I think and haven't updated since, and Affliction soon followed. I plan on rotating through them to keep them all updated regularly, however, so that none get too neglected. Next up is Apocolypse XD
I actually forgot that you asked me about the parody. I'm still chugging along at that. Still stalking PFF regulars and memorable writers to figure out how to best portray them. I have done little more than take notes so far, and will probably start characterizing people pretty soon. I had thought that the parody would be done by now, but I guess I set too short of a time limit on myself.
As for staying up late, I have survived five nights in a row playing an online game. This was sixth grade, mind you, and the best I have done since is two nights, probably around 50 hours. Yeah, I'm a little insane XD
I think this could be like two chapters here lol
