Oh, you're sly! I'd totally do the same... >w> My brother had a Pokemon card phase for a few weeks so we bought him some packs and when he stopped playing with them as much, I just nabbed them, ahahah. Got a cute shiny Cinccino, Litwick, and other cute ones~

If it's uncommon I'll probably just buy some of the packs when I'm out. No biggie, can just skip lunch instead, ahahha. ;~; But it's so cute so it's totally worth it! Plus I get so happy whenever I get shinies, even if they're not rare!

Most people I know in my area are usually not collecting and simply looking to sell.

I may have told you this before, but I think I ended up with 8 copies of the rare card Sandslash from HGSS, and I still haven't completed that set.

Can't say I do the same very often, myself. Then again I almost never trade.

The boosters have the potential to be an even bigger buttload spent. And then you end up with 16 copies of some cards.

I might get into the collecting side of it, and like yourself casual battling. The thing is I haven't got the slightest clue how to play the game! XD

I may look into Plasma Storm then so. Do you collect, battle or both?

It's like GameFreak read our minds when they did that and made a link between the generations in such a bold way.

I can't say I collect the YGO cards any more either, I always wanted to collect the Pokemon cards, I only ever had a few when I was a kid :(

I can think of a few... but that's more for their effects and stats rather than the art.

You'd be spending a buttload of money trying to pull them in boosters!

Butterfree has some of the best holo cards when it gets the holo treatment.

You can keep buying booster packs if you want! I'm personally just lazy about buying common lots and cheap single rares when big shiny Japanese cards are available.

That is pretty freaking awesome for that first bit! I personally would like to acquire a few more Southern Islands cards, myself.

That last bit is all too familiar to me. It's the attack of the crappy "rares"! In MTG, they referred to them as jank rares (cards that are rare but are useless and you seem to end up with 30 of them while buying boosters).

It's at that point that it becomes more economical just to buy singles and eBay common lots.

Why not both at once?

I don't collect the cards now either, but out of all of them GX was the series that got me really into collecting them, I had been collecting them since the first series though, good old 'Blue Eyes White Dragon' haha. Have you seen the first episode of 5D's yet?

You see I'm different in the way that I have no real interest in watching 5D's. I dunno I just think that dueling on motorbikes is a little far fetched for me, but then I'm not sure either because I have never actually watched it so it actually could be pretty decent. :)
