I guess that I can understand that.
In Pokémon X/Y, I'm generally very direct with my strategies, but sometimes I'll go out of my way to **** with people's minds. I usually have a Zoroark in my party, but people who fight me the first time they go up against. If I don't see a Pokémon that can immediately KO it, I'll usually send it out first while keeping a bait Pokémon in the rear (normally, Mienshao). You would be surprised how easy it is to bait people into switching to a Psychic or Ghost type, and then suddenly KO-ing with Night Daze. If I'm feeling cautious, though, I'll use U-turn right away to get Zoroark out of there and switch to something else. Even when people are wise to my tactics, they generally won't figure out when they're fighting Zoroark or when they're fighting something else. For example, I battled a member named waveguidebuizel twice in the past two weeks. He fought me before, and was wise to my Zoroark tactic, but I kept him on his toes during both battle because he didn't know when I had Zoroark out and when I didn't. He was trying to bait me into sending out a few times, but I kind of messed up his strategy because I knew he was trying to do that. Both battles drew out like twenty minutes (34 turns the first time, 41 turns the second).
