  • Its actually not my first Pokemon game, first one I have was on game boy, but I do need advise on pokemon and how to beat Nessa on the new one which is sword
I so far really loving it and it so much fun until later on it got a bit harder and I hope to become better at it soon
Oh. I never thought of it as slow. Couldn't you also equip a sail to speed it up? Honestly I thought it was peaceful, and the pace of sailing really lets you take in the entire thing. Being in the ocean is one of the most atmospheric feelings. I think Breath of the Wild sort of pushes players to encounter the Zora's first. I don't know if I mentioned this, but speed runs for Breath of the Wild are fascinating. People just running straight to the tutorial into Ganon's Castle, equipped with nothing. I thought the moving dungeons were a slog. There were also 900 collectible korak seeds, and I admire anybody who has the amount of patience to actually find all of those. The Hylian Shield also breaks, which is sad. I believe there's a side quest to repair it, but it would be nice if the reward for finding these items was not having to worry about durability anymore.

I don't think I ever used the Leaf Shield. It was the item I kept thinking "what does this thing do" and I ignored it 99% of the time. Were any of the bosses actually weak to it? I think...air man? But it was so hard to hit him I kept used the default weapon. That's the reason I'm not looking forward to 7. Not sure how I'll feel about the transition after playing 1-6. I mean, you don't seem to speak negatively about Mega Man 7, which is good. Since you mentioned favorites a lot, is there any game you don't particularity enjoy playing. I could guess Mega Man 1? Honestly despite what I said about replay value, it seems the most outdated and more like a clunky NES game. The entire game feels like Mega Man is running on an ice level. But the stages are also so short I found that it didn't bother me that much. Gut's Man had an insanely tiny stage. Probably because the only challenging part was the platforming section at the start.

This conversation is making me tempted to try a 3 heart challenge. Maybe soon. There's a couple parts I could see myself getting stuck on. (Barniade, Bongo-Bongo, Ganondorf considering you would have to play perfectly). But yeah I was referring to the room with the fans. I always get hit in that room. Did you find the wall-masters annoying at all? Navi always warns you, but imagine if she didn't. The warnings always made them feel tolerable because you can just run in a circle and wait for the landing. I never played Master Quest much. It was unlocked when beating the original 3DS main story, but I wish it could be there from the start. I didn't feel like running through the entire game again. It's ridiculous how bad my memory with the late game xenoblade is, because what's an...Agniratha? After a bit of thinking I remember now it's the capital that looked like a huge city. I assume this is where you are in the story right now?

To be fair I just played multiplayer with family. If I had a family member or something visiting I'd just ask "hey want to play mario party"? But it's also nice that games feature online now like Mario Kart 8, so almost everybody can now play together. I hope the next Mario Party game features online multiplayer. Does Gates to Infinity play differently? To be honest I thought these games were a bit "sameish". I thought all the story-lines were pretty good, although thinking back the original Red/Blue rescue team is a bit...weak. I'll probably try Symphony of the Night. That's the game I always hear critical acclaim for. Looking at screen shots, it's much different than I thought. For some reason I was thinking about running around a giant 3D world with ritcher.

You know, speaking of anime, I'm not that familiar but I have heard of death-note. It looks really interesting. Maybe a bit edgy, but still looks cool. Someone said the manga was better but I have no idea how to read those. I tried with the pokemon adventures and got lost quickly. Aww that's sad about the shrine, but nice knowing it did reach it's goal. Japan seems to get lots of these typhoons.

Chess requires a lot of mental stamina. Most of the time (particularly for chess.com) you each have a 30 to 60 minute timer. Every time your turn is in play, your timer is counting down. If your taking too long with your turns, your timer will hit 0 and you lose the game. There's also blitz chess. Your timer starts at 5 to 10 minutes. I'm not a fan of this. For some reason I preform better against bots than actual people. I can beat bots above my rating, but struggle against people lower than me. Eh...regarding depression I don't really know anything about it. (just that "thing" my dad had and brother has). I asked about numbness a while back, since I was comparing it to my own feelings. Not a big deal I guess, life goes on.
I'm not sure I understand why sailing would be unpopular. The ocean feels so vast. I kind of wish you could use a larger ship instead of the tiny boat. If I remember correctly, are there limits to exploration? Like, the game isn't going to let you sail to places super early? Also do you remember the order you tried the dungeons in Breath of the Wild? I did the Zora and the Bird species dungeons, and stopped. I didn't enjoy moving the dungeons around, and I found it boring at times. The shrines could be fun, but after a while I got lazy and kept looking at a guide to speed through them. I did get the master-sword, but after that was the point I quit. The master sword didn't even feel that powerful, it just kept running out of energy.

That was on my mind with the skull barrier. I was thinking "Is this going to be the only barrier weapon? Because it's actually useful". I did finish Cossack stage 1. Not a fan of ice levels. At least the boss was relatively easy. I immediately tried Ring Man because it seems to be useful most of the time, and it worked. I didn't notice that about the boss doors. But speaking of boss doors, there's so much satisfaction when seeing one. The realization of finally hitting the end of a level. I got overly curious and looked at a video. I can't see why 7 is hard, but it's probably different watching a video than playing. He just seems to shoot energy balls and lasers everywhere. Also 12 years? I had no idea there was such a large gap between games. It seems like they went into a new style for Mega Man 11, so I wonder how 12 will eventually be handled. Would you prefer the newer style or the NES style?

It sounds like the Shadow Temple would be the hardest on a 3 heart run. So many invisible enemies and traps, and it's a dungeon focused on combat. ...I don't remember blue potions. I remember red and green, but not blue. Most of the time I think I went to the ranch and used the milk. The well didn't bother me at all. I wonder if it's something to do with being forced to play as child link again. The bottom of the well felt watching a dinsey horror movie, but the shadow temple was like going into a much larger, traditional horror setting, if that analogy makes sense. The shadow temple just felt way more large scale and intimidating. As far as scary things go, I did find the original fire temple theme to be slightly unnerving. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tZGnJF1R0WU). Yes that's the one I'm thinking of, I'm pretty sure it's the boss in the central factory. Isn't that the place you also confront Egil? To be honest I thought the most intriguing character was Alvis. I spent the entire game wondering who he was and what his intentions were. He looked like he was ripped straight out of a kingdom hearts game.

Despite what I said about immersion, I should mention that "couch multiplayer" is still one of my favorite things. I love stuff like Mario Party. The beginning of Super Mystery Dungeon takes place in a school. I agree that it starts slow, but I still enjoy these games so much it just didn't bother me. Also it's sort of a coming of age story. By the end, you realize how far you've come since being in the school. It also ended with probably the most unique plot twist in the series. Gates to Infinity is the one I never played. Maybe some day. I do love the series so I should really give it a try. My personal favorite is Explorers. That's the popular answer, but it really is good. Oh no, candy box is a bit different from typical idle games. It has an ending. You leave it open in your browser, it unlocks new levels and bosses. Candy Box 1 doesn't save but can be finished within about a week. I guess it never bothered me to leave it on. I'd usually just put the computer on rest anyways.

I believe the games I saw were Symphony of the Night, Rondo of Blood, Harmony of Despair, and Lord of Shadows. Sorry if this is a repeating question, but you mentioned it created the "metroidvania" title? I understand Metroid is about collecting items and progressing...so castlevania is the same thing? Or just a platformer. Either way when I finish the last of us II I'll probably download it and try one of them. (PS4 running out of storage). My brother also likes this series so I already texted him. I admit I once thought castlevania was a visual novel. He says it's a horror side scrolling platformer.

Wow that's such a small and neat detail. How did you come to find it had a real life counterpart? Makes me wonder if they commonly do this in anime shows. I'm always interested when they film in real locations for TV shows. Also now I'm getting a bunch of crunchyroll ads all over my social feed and every time I watch a YouTube video. It's funny how this stuff works.

13 hours of sleep was nice. Sometimes I can think of a dozen things to do, but for some bizarre reason nothing "interesting". I think sleep is the easy answer but not always the correct answer. For a while my favorite thing was chess, but it's mentally exhausting.
That was the main issue I had with Wind Waker. I loved the tropical themes, including running around on the islands and sailing the ocean. But when I was in a dungeon my enjoyment dropped. I just wanted to leave and go back on the boat. I forgot Breath of the Wild had DLC. I'm not even sure what most of it includes, besides Majora's Mask and the motorbike. (Which just sounds funny and odd). I usually don't go for DLC unless it's getting good reception and it's important for the plot.

I'm okay thanks. (slept 13 hours). I keep viewing the weapons as a "Boss Only" tool and I'm really trying to break this habit. But it's not uncommon for me to run through the entire stage with my default weapon. I completely forgot I could block with the Skull Barrier. I keep using it to bash into enemies. Regarding the clip, I was confused when you mentioned "Cossack" stage. I assumed the guy in the image was Dr. Light, and I was leaving his own through a snow field to head into Wily's Castle. This is the story I made up in my head, now I'm realizing they probably explained this in the intro and I've already forgotten. That's funny about Top Man because I'm trying to wrap my thoughts around how he's meant to explore space. I don't even think his stage was space themed. Ring Man makes way more sense. Speaking of Ring Man I did finally clear his stage. That was so satisfying. Also I was reading about some of the games. Lots of complaints of Wily being hard in Mega Man 7. If that's true i'm already sort of dreading it. Also curious about why Mega Man 7 looks like such a graphical update, and why Mega Man 9 looks like an NES game again.

I'm wondering if the Biggorns sword would be useless on a 3 heart run. I think it would be more helpful to have a shield. I'm now tempted to try my own 3 heart run, at the same time wouldn't it just end up being all about bottling a bunch of fairies? I can't imagine bongo bongo, I can hardly do that on a normal run. It would be much easier if you didn't have to run through the shadow temple again, which is filled with enemies. Did you ever find the shadow temple to be a creepy place at all? I think I actually found it slightly unsettling, mostly just returning for gold skulls. Returning just makes you feel like you don't belong. Also my reaction to that was "What's a jade face"? It sounds familiar but I don't remember. I think it's the boss that starts you far away and you have to work towards him. I do remember that long mechonis dungeon where you had to climb what felt like 100 floors. Might have been the same place.

Some of it is just an immersion thing. If I'm playing something I would rather just tune out the world for a while, and that doesn't work if someone is in the room. My brain instantly focuses more on the other person and what that person is doing. I can be talkative but a lot factors come into play. Mystery Dungeon DX looks nice, but I can't see myself wanting it for the full $60 price. (Especially when I know how the story plays out, and I could see that story again for free on an emulator). Not only that, but I think explorers had the superior story. Did you ever play Super Mystery Dungeon? I found that was underappreciated. I wasn't aware you could do that with Wonder Mail. I remember in the original you could chain link moves, and certain combinations dominated the games. But yeah I admittedly cheat pretty heavily with it. Saving on every floor, sometimes in the middle of a floor. It's the only game I ever do this with. I had no problem getting through Super Mystery Dungeon though, which some claim is the hardest in the series.

This makes me want to play Candy Box again. Candy Box 2 is superior, but I think Candy Box 1 had less interactivity and was more of an idle game. You could just leave that open in a browser. Only issue was Candy Box 1 didn't save. If your browser forced closed, it meant starting all over. I might have asked this (can't remember) but Love Live was a mobile game first, right? And had it's show inspired from that? I wonder if that happens often.

I'll try season 1 first. I was confused and it felt like I jumped right into the middle of the show. I don't know if there's any better websites, but I was using crunchyroll and the advertisements went on for really long times. I mean I could just tab out and browse facebook or something, but still. Also I am subscribed to PS Now (Which is a service which gives a bunch of free games). I noticed they had a few castlevania titles on there which is neat. I would like to find one with ritcher.

That's cool about your dad. My family immigrated from Ireland, so I have a lot of heritage. Are the places loosely inspired or heavily inspired? (from love live). Also sorry this message is getting shorter and shorter. Started writing it because honestly I couldn't sleep. As I started writing towards the last few paragraphs I started getting tired, now I'm struggling to stay awake. But was thinking "No I can finish this".
Thanks, this is actually my first time on here so far, and its also pleasing to meet you as aell Aisaka
So you play pokemon on Switch?
I needed to install linux again anyways. I was going to gift a game for someone on steam. If only cave story had an app. Because chromebook's have a built in playstore, the same thing you get on a phone. If it had an app I could play it immediately. Also trying to recall how far I actually made it into windwaker. Dragon Roost cavern was second? I remember that place. I think I stopped after the Forbidden Woods (or inside it, I legit can't remember if I finished that dungeon or not). I don't remember any stealth sections in Breath of the Wild. Are you referring to dodging the spotlights in the castle?

I'll try to finish Mega Man 4 later today. It's literally 5 am at the time i'm writing this. (had a panic attack, not fun at all.)..I don't think the game tells you about charging the shot. It really doesn't tell you much of anything. I'm actually so reliant on auto fire I'm not sure if I could imagine playing these games without it. It's so helpful for certain enemies, like those green things that are invincible aside from when they flash their eyes. (Snake Man's stage had them). This might sound strange, but out of all of them I think the most re playable for me might be Mega Man 1. It's so short, I feel like it would be easy to try and master. I decided to search up "Centaur Man" and it says he was a tour guide modified for combat. I didn't even know the robots had backstories, so that's neat. Okay also his design looks really cool. He probably has a cool stage too. The stages are already impressive, so I'm curious about how the later entries such as 8 or 9 will start looking. I read somewhere that all the bosses are taken from fan submissions. Not sure if that had any truth to it. Isn't Mega Man 9 the one with the Mermaid boss robot? I remember reading something about that in a web comic.

My first version of Ocarina of Time was the N64 on Virtual Console. I got stuck in the deku tree. Which might sound silly, but I was about 9 years old and had almost never touched a Zelda game. So a couple years later the 3DS version released and I got through that with hint stones, went back to the Virtual Console and also completed that. Yeah there's all sorts of small details in these games. Dark Link is completely trivialized with Din's Fire. I usually sword fight because it's not even a fight anymore if you do it. Also I think you can have the big-goron sword by then. Not sure if you use that in your playthrough's, but you out damage him if you have it. Out of curiosity, how did you get through Dark Link on a 3 heart challenge? He usually trades damage with me if I don't use Din's Fire. Also speaking of small things, you probably know this, but you can reflect ganondorf's magic with the bottle. For Xenoblade I blank out after Prison Island. I think the game goes Colony 9--->Tephra Cave--->Bionis Leg--->Either Mines--->Colony 6--->Satorl Marsh---> The Jungle---> Eyrith Sea--->Valak Mountain? I don't remember if that's before or after, Prison Island---> Fallen Arm? Then bionis, and all the stuff with Dickson. The later it goes the worse my memory gets.

I don't blame you for wanting to hold off on persona. Funny enough, I was just messaging roni about something similar. I struggle to play anything if other people are around. Video Games are something I can't divide concentration. Maybe something super simplistic like Pokemon or Mega Man, but if someone comes over while I'm playing The Last of Us, I'll just shut it off and pick up later. It's why I could never be a streamer. If I haven't mentioned this, I love the Mystery Dungeon series. I've played all of them besides Gates to Infinity and the WiiWare game. (Idk if I want to play that one). Explorers of Sky had a beautiful story and some beautiful messages. Sadly I was never great at these games, and I can't do them without being reliant on Save States. I never use save states, but Explorers of Sky is the one exception. It's brutal being 20 floors into a dungeon, and getting killed by a monster house.

Oh, my misunderstanding. I didn't notice the difference in spelling. But speaking of idle games (the one I was mistakenly referring to) there is one called Candy Box. It's a browser game and was probably one of my favorite games of all time. I liked it so much that I completely ignored cookie player since they became popular at similar times. But no I had never even heard of idol games. The app store has so much depth, it's no wonder that I've never seen them. It always seems to recommend the popular things to me, such as Subway Surfers or Temple Run. I'm sure there are hidden gems to it.

It was nice. I really should watch season 1 first. I admit a lot of it was me trying to keep up. Not sure if it's the show or an unfamiliarity with how an anime is paced. But it's nice trying something out of familiarity. At the same time it was kind of surreal. Had heard about anime for probably my entire life, but just never watched anything...the closest thing being Avatar the Last Airbender, which was an american cartoon based on an anime.

His twitter is blocked. I apologize for bringing it up. I understand wanting to stay off the news. To be fair my words echoed what one of my own teachers had told me. It stuck out. And I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to learn about Japan. Is there any specific part you want to visit, or is it the country as a whole?
Hey i think you didn't received my last message well anyways sorry if calling you sis make you feel embarrassed but PLZZ can i be your friend?
I call you sis because you're way of talking is just like my sister......................... i still remember her she was so................
We are doing okay. I'll give my thoughts on that towards the end, but I'll probably keep that part brief.

Unfortunately, ran into a problem with Cave Story. I had the file downloaded, ready to open it up. Then I received a message saying "This is only compatible with Windows". I was dreading that message. I could try running it through Linux (basically lets chromebooks run window's applications). Linux can be a hassle, but it's worth a shot. I don't remember if I mentioned this, but I do have a bit of remembrance from Windwaker, despite playing it briefly. I think the first dungeon was forsakken fortress? I might be mixing this up with dragon quest. It was very unique, because I don't think Zelda delves into stealth very often. Aside from a few instances, like saving the carpenters in Ocarina of Time. (my least favorite part of that entire game). I couldn't navigate that section at all.

I'm still stuck on ring man. I can make it to him now with all my lives, but he just destroys me. I think his weakness is the pharaoh shot, but I can hardly tell because it's not doing a significant amount of damage. I can usually get past the hippo's now. But I don't understand a reliable way to get past the eyes, besides luckily timing my shots and pressing autofire. Did auto fire exist in the original games, or was this added for legacy collection? I didn't even know Mega Man had a cartoon, but well, time to check it out. I never got into 90's cartoons despite hearing that was the golden era of cartoons. I remember what you mentioned about the praise for Final Fantasy 7 giving you reluctance to try it. For me it was the same with those cartoons. Stuff like "Only 90's children will remember this" just turns me away so much. And yes we were thinking of different bosses, and now I understand what you meant. I was stuck on that crash puzzle in Mega Man 2 for a week. Sadly when I think back on Mega Man 2 my only thoughts are about that puzzle. It was such a pain losing to a boss in that castle, and having to redo the entire stage. Since you said Mega Man 5 used to be your favorite, what is your current favorite? I could try to guess 7, since you said you were playing that recently. When I opened up 6 for a brief moment I saw Plant Man, which really amused me for some reason. I can't wait to try out that stage. Some are amusing, others make me think "Wait I just fought that didn't I"? For instance Fire Man and Heat Man.

You played the 3DS version of Ocarina, right? I tried both and they definitely removed some of the tedium. They color coded the water levels (never payed attention to that myself, but it was there). And you could press a button to switch boots instead of pausing the game and navigating the menu. So you can actually get past dark link easily with the Din's Fire. He has nothing to block it. I never did a 3 heart challenge, simply because I like the feeling of progression and getting stronger, I feel like not collecting hearts removes the feeling. Ocarina of Time is the only Zelda game I can say I feel familiar with. I know a majority of hidden locations and heart pieces. I did finish Twilight Princess and got 100% on Majora's Mask, but I don't think my memory could get me through those games.

Did you get around to progressing in Xenoblade? Recently I've been playing "Until Dawn" which a survival horror game. I always turn the lights off and only play late at night. It adds to the atmosphere. That and I don't scare easily, so anything to up the tension. Speaking of other RPG's, I wanted to play Persona 5, but just too many things I'm currently playing so I ignored the sale. I should have grown up with Gen 4, but I just completely ignored it. Gen 3 rom hacks had started to get big, and they were free, so I just stuck with that. The pace of Gen 4 does hit my limit of what I can tolerate, however it is resolvable with an emulator. I never liked turning off battle animations. I feel like I'm missing part of the experience. I should mention that Dragon Quest 5 is similar to Pokemon. The battle system has a monster taming feature, so you can defeat enemies and recruit them. It was sort of a predecessor to Pokemon. But an interesting fact about the massive grind I mentioned in Dragon Quest 2. Even the developers never finished the original NES release. (although it is very possible to beat). They toned it down drastically in the remasters.

Oh you never mentioned New York. I've never even been myself. I've traveled all around the Eastern U.S, even New Jersey. Never been into New York. So we had a trip in highschool that involved us spending the night in a college dormitory. I passed on it, and I have no regrets what so ever. It's really cool knowing your school did trips outside of your country, ours certainly did not. Not that I can recall anyways. My class presentation did accidentally cause a fight between two students. We had to do a project about drug use, and I admit I was pretty apathetic. So I drew a stoned mickey mouse with the message "drugs=bad" and shared it with the class. One kid decides to insult another, saying Mickey Mouse looked like him. He took offense and rolled up his sleeves...you can guess what happened from there. (teacher gave me an A+ because of "presentation interruption"). On another note, opps. I meant to say I don't think it's a big deal. I wasn't even aware asexuality was a thing until a couple years ago. It was more like "Oh, that's why I'm this way". Then life just carried on. This is the only forum I use anymore, and I don't think I've ever been badmouthed here. Even online, I'm just not confrontational so I would probably not respond if it happened. I admit, having anxiety I'm often afraid I'll check my messages and find a mean comment. I'm glad to mention you only received a comment once within 5 years, it must make things easier. Oh, I met my best friend in freshman year over a 2k app card game. We would spend entire lunch periods everyday playing it together. (I even shared the canoe with him on that field trip, all because we bonded over a card game). Idol games are those things you leave open in the background and that's how you progress? or am I thinking of the wrong thing? It sounds so familiar. Like...cookie clicker I think?

So I did start watching love live. Um am I supposed to watch season 1 first or is it okay to just start season 2? Honestly this is completely new to me. I have watched no style of this show ever aside from Pokemon. But it is cute, and the characters feel so full of expression and full of life. On that note it's a bit funny looking down at subtitles, I would rather see the expressions. But from what I understood, they were welcoming to people to the school. The one girl became president of the school (I think they said her name was honaka) Her friends are passionate about the talent show, but she doesn't want to participate. (Until the end, they were singing and she changed her mind). Also what's A-rise, a rival group? They keep bringing it up. I'm guessing this show will revolve around the talent show. Ohhh thanks for the link. It made me smile because the tone of the instrumentals reminded me of black sabboth.

But yeah it's okay. I think there's a lot of tension in the air. He has 12 days left as leader, and hopefully he doesn't do anything crazy during this time or incite more violence. He promised peace from now on, and I hope those words are true. Right now his mental stability is being questioned, so there is a possibility he could be out before the 12 days. Honestly, I really just don't want any more riots and violence. Oh. I'm studying Psychology right now. It's interesting. In particular, I would like to get into a field in which I could help others. This has been my biggest struggle throughout college. I suddenly think "I don't feel passionate about this anymore" and I want to change my field of study. I'm sure it'll work out for you, and it's okay not to know at the moment. There's many who feel the same way as you.
Sorry that this response is coming immediately, hopefully you don't mind it. Not in the mood for browsing social media tonight. Our country really isn't doing well right now (U.S capital was just invaded by those who aren't accepting the election). So I'm just hanging out on pokecommunity instead. I live about an hour away from where this is all happening.

Yep it's a translation patch. I'm not sure what causes overheating. I should share my desktop because it's rather humorous. It's literally an empty screen. I remember how long I've had this computer, but I never download anything. So yeah if I can't get this to work out I'm thinking about making the purchase on 3DS. Oh, here's an interesting fact about myself I could share. My first memories of playing video games are Grandia on the Dreamcast. I must have been about 5 years old. I would sit with my older brother and he would pass me the controller on certain parts. That's sort of the reason I haven't played grandia again. The way I remember it is magical. I sort of don't want to go back and see a blocky mess.

No I think you were right, because I had completely depleted my skull power when I beat him. If I have extra lives when I reach a boss stage, I usually try to see how I do with the mega buster first. (Is it called Mega Buster? I keep calling it pellet shooter). Some of these boss weaknesses would certainly interest me. Like...I don't understand how dive man is weak to skulls. I guess because there's skulls underwater? That probably makes no sense but now I want to look this stuff up online. Just wondering, but what did you find wrong with the crash bomber boss? He gave me a bit of trouble until I figured out he was weak to air, then it was a breeze. (no pun intended). Our viewing of difficulty is probably different, because I feel like the boss power-ups don't help me much on a stage. It's usually not the enemies giving me trouble, but the platforming sections. Sometimes mega man likes to place enemies in a place that if you rush a jump they push you right into a gap. I'm surprised you consider four the hardest. How does 5 compare? Somewhat would like to know what to expect in terms of difficulty.

It's nice to see someone who isn't bashing the water temple. I don't think I had a problem with getting lost, but it was finding certain keys. The layout felt simple. The lobby room with the water is the first half of the dungeon, the rest of the dungeon is the second half. That's how I interpreted it. Once you get past that first section, I find the second half is no issue. Also I loved the dark link fight. It's my favorite part of Ocarina of Time. (Besides tennis with ganondorf). This is making me want to play ocarina of time again.

Fortnite is a completely free game, so I think it's the exception. You get a huge amount of new players checking it out, and experienced players. Of course all it takes is one veteran to dominate a lobby, but I see all sorts of people who seem to be doing just as poor as me. (Struggling to build a ramp, shooting all around my character). It might just be my playstyle though that allows me into the top 10 so often. I avoid confrontation with other players and farm materials in isolated areas of the map. Yeah that's true but there's certain games I really do want to see the end of. Especially the ones with really good stories. Pokemon is one of the things I get the craving to play, but then I go a few months without any urge to play. Which generation did you grow up with? When I was a small child I played Gen 3, but I didn't truly get back into the series until High School when Gen 6 released. But yeah super excited to play dragon quest 8 now. At the same time I'm probably going to end up putting 80 hours in Dragon Quest 11. Also Dragon Quest 3 is on switch, but I honestly prefer the NES graphics over the remastered art-style. Also craving to play Dragon Quest 2, but that game is a massive grind.

My school was the same way, not huge on clubs. We did lots of field trips though (Canoeing, museums, going on a cruise ship, etc). It's good to know your school had that sort of club called the GSA. Our generation seems to me more accepting and I'm quite proud to see it. I guess it's too big of a deal to mention this, but I myself am asexual. Oh...about to sound really dumb, but what is a gacha game? If Pokemon GO counts as a nintendo mobile game I played that for a very slight time with my sister, 3 years late after the hype died down. I remember that game reaching insane levels of popularity, and it was cool because apparently this was how popular pokemon was when it was released in 1998. I wasn't born yet but I was curious to know what the craze was like. I guess the pokemon go era was close.

Um, what is the show called? Sorry, it's all in Japanese and I can't read it. The animation from the clip you shared is pretty. It would definitely be different from what I usually watch. Usually I like gritty, slow suspenseful shows (Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul). But I still enjoy trying completely new things, so watching this could be a fun time. To be honest can't say I know anything about J-pop either. Hilariously what I have playing in another tab sounds like the opposite of j-pop. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N0i9yCZ5D8E) If there's 10 characters and they each have an episode, does that mean this show is only 10 episodes?

Yeah unfortunately that's just american culture. Certain people make a big deal about "not being a sheep" so they don't want to wear masks and would rather spread this virus everywhere. And it's okay, it's been a nice way to pass time so i actually don't mind writing lengthy messages to be quite honest. But no I don't think you mentioned that about college, and I don't blame you. Do you know what you want to study? If it's okay to ask. I'm really starting to miss being on campus. Even stuff as small as buying ice cream after class.
Ok so I have cave story downloading...I have no idea if this is going to work because it says specifically this is for windows, and I'm on a chromebook. Also it mentions having to patch the game. I can probably figure this out, but I admit I don't have the slightest idea what I'm actually doing. I play almost everything on my phone, and there's an app to patch things. I guess I have to download a patcher or something. It might be easier if I just spent the $10 on 3DS to be honest. About computers, you mentioned it being primarily what you play games on. Does that mean you also lose portability? I've seen gaming computers and it's always a desktop PC instead of a laptop. Being on the cavestory downloading page, I'm impressed with how they have this for DreamCast and GameCube. You would probably need to modify your consoles, but it's interesting nonetheless. And thanks for mentioning, I don't think I'll be missing too much by losing those modes. The controls might be easier since I'm going to be stuck with a touchpad and keyboard.

So I did beat Dive Man. That felt like one of the toughest bosses so far in the series. He moved like Heat Man but with the speed of Quick Man. I'd say the hardest bosses for me have been Wood Man (could not get the timing) Air Man, and Needle Man. Dive Man was weak to the skull barrier, which actually made things more difficult because it meant getting into close range to have a chance at hitting him. Wily is always a problem, and I had to exploit the glitch to beat him in Mega Man 1. That's not a bad thing though. It's cool to have an intimidating final boss. When I reach him there's a mix of excitement, and dread because I know he's going to pose a huge challenge. I'm hoping for some more backstory with Wily because he's an interesting villian. Right now all I know is that he likes to build evil robots and he's like the counterpart to Dr. Light. I actually missed the balloon...I don't know if it's worth getting because I haven't even used the Wire yet. In terms of difficulty, this has been the odd ball of the series. Mega Man 1 was the hardest and I couldn't do it without exploiting the pause glitch. Two was the easiest, Three was about the same as one, but had the easiest Wily Castle. Four seems to fluctuate. Sometimes it's easier than Mega Man 2, sometimes it's harder than Mega Man 1. I tried to beat Ring Man today, but still haven't done it. I actually had a really good run going. I had full health near the checkpoint, then got killed by the spikes and lost everything. Speaking of Water stages, I'm in the group who doesn't mind them. It's desert stages i'm not good at. As I mentioned I liked the Lakebed Temple, and I don't mind the Water Temple either. I think it's peaceful and tranquil.

When it comes to games like Leauge and Fortnite, one of the hardest things is you have to catch up with people who have years of experience. With Smash Brothers I think the skill ceiling is slightly lower. In about a year my win ratio online went from 20% to 60%, now it's 80-90% with my better characters. My backlog has turned more into a huge clustered mess because I keep starting things. Right now I'm playing Stranded Deep, Mega Man 4, Detroit Become Human (for the better ending), Last of Us II, Dragon Quest 11, about to start Cave Story, Skyrim (Never finished, on hiatus) New Vegas (On partial hiatus, like once every two weeks). Life Is Strange II, Bioshock I (On hiatus), Xenoblade (On hiatus). and I want to try God of War and Metal Gear Solid 4. I probably won't finish most of these. Oh and I just saw Dragon Quest 8 in the 3DS shop. I was going to save the rest of my gift-card, but nope out goes that idea. I haven't even played 8. I'm not sure if this word is a good description, but I do kind of fanboy over dragon quest. More like adoration. They've always just generally made me very happy. Did you attend any clubs in school? I admit the club I played Smash Brothers in was the only one. We also played Mario Kart 8 sometimes, but unlike smash brothers, I was not dominate and usually placed towards the bottom of every race. And I did watch the video of ritcher, I find that so cool. Had an odd dream that they added all a bunch of castlevania games to the switch. Is Ritcher your favorite protagonist from the series? I haven't played them, but I do like the design of Simon, and the fact that he's the one who started the series...i think.

Funnily enough, I don't think I've ever taken the switch out. When I wanted to play with someone from school, we could just use online and play together that way. Most of the time if my family is leaving for a trip, I would rather just play games on my phone. Since emulation has gotten advanced, you can do way more things with phones. It also helps that console games are now becoming a normal thing to receive phone ports. The Grand Theft Auto series has slowly been getting ported to phone, and so has Final Fantasy. I wonder if the 3DS will be getting a successor or if Nintendo is solely focusing on the switch from now on. They've also made an attempt at the mobile market, with Mario Kart Tour and Super Mario Run. I didn't play Super Mario Run because I thought $10 was a bit much for a phone app.

So I read the comment section on the last video you sent, and lots of people were talking about Ayumu. But that is very heartwarming. Does she develop that kind of confidence through the rest of the show, or is it more of an episode specific thing? Also the characters are adorable. The youtube name of the guy you uploaded the clip from made me chuckle. I'm guessing this is like a highschool specific show, or something more grandiose? Maybe I'll end up checking it out someday.

I think the world just needs more unity. Unfortunately this is a global issue turned into a blame issue. I guess I could explain a bit of what it's like down here, but I can't speak for the entirety of the U.S, just my state. Masks are pretty much required in all buildings. Schools are closed across the state. They tried to reopen but the virus forced everything back into closure. In certain places, they have a person stand outside and check your temperature. Like I was going to talk with my doctor about my anxiety, and there was a person who makes sure your safe to enter. Some people in the U.S are "rebelling". They have large parties without masks, and have made life worse for the rest of us. I've only had one family member test positive for covid, but he made a recovery. I'd say the way that I've been impacted was that I now have to do all my classes through zoom meetings. Also anything involving leisure or entertainment is completely gone. (No movie theaters, theme parks, etc). We dined out a couple times, but we have to do it outside, and everything is constantly being sanitized. (the menu's, plates, etc). The fun of it ends up going away and you realize it's actually pretty sad.

I hope the year goes better than 2018 for you then. Actually my message got cut off and I had to rewrite a portion of this. I was like do I want to do it now or later....meh i'll do it now. Sometimes pokecommunity logs you out after a certain amount of time.
Hey so I was thinking about downloading cave story, but is the difference between the old and new one massive? You mentioned it came out in 2004, so I'm just wondering how much is actually different. (Like if the controls are going to be shaky, etc). I might just try it for an hour or so to get a feel for it. (Also if it's not too much to ask, is there a general idea of the plot)?

Well I made a little bit of progress. I beat Skull Man. I don't know if his weakness was actually dust man, but it worked. Since you mentioned Dive Man being difficult, I haven't even tried it yet. Ring Man is still a pain and I can only get half way through the stage. I miss the jet, that would trivialize this entire stage. The music is so sick, and I'm actually listening to it right now on another tab. It's probably my new favorite theme from this series, in contention with snake man. So I also started blocking the rocks with the skull barrier, and I almost made it to the end of the stage. After I finish writing this, I might go and play a bit more tonight. The grasshopers didn't bother me much and I actually found that part easy. It was the moving platforms that got me, and I lost on that part over and over. I feel like I put off all the tough stages for last, so now I just have to get through them. I'll probably go for Dive Man. Playing this 100% blind has been so much fun. I've been getting some insane luck, many times guessing the weakness on my first try. But wow ring man has such a tough stage. I have no idea what those strange enemies are, they look like hippo's and stand on a podium. I've been using the toadman power to rain them, but it only gives me enough to kill one.

League was like one of the most popular games on twitch. When I read that games usually last an hour, I lost interest. (Yet I also like chess). Then I heard unpleasant things about the fanbase, and my interest went down even more. I can't really say I understand why your friends would tell you which characters you aren't allowed to play. Did they struggle against certain characters, and that's why they didn't want you playing? You know, after hearing you say that, I now realize what an amazing group I was playing smash brothers with, because I won and dominated almost 100% of our matches. They didn't kick me out or anything. They actually praised me and greatly enjoyed seeing if they could take me out. Sometimes my teacher would stop me in the hall and say things like "There's the smash brothers champion". We played at lunch and during an after school club. Eventually I didn't want to attend the club anymore, but sometimes I think back on it and miss the group. Have you tried Skyrim yet by the way, or is it in your backlog? It really is a time-sink.

They have tournaments that are in-between local and major. Maybe that was it. Usually state tournaments and they get around a few hundred viewers. Most of the time a professional player will appear and it's a big way to make people want to attend. That sounds so cool what you mentioned about Ritcher, and soon I'm going to look up the fight on youtube. Does he fight like he does when he's a protagonist in his own game, or does he use new moves? To be honest now I want to read the wiki pages. It's always neat how every single franchise has it's own wiki. Whenever I finish a game, I always like to find the fandom wiki. Especially because they have trivia sections at the bottom with fun information. So...Alucard is an antagonist? If I play any of these games I want to play Symphony of the Night. So it would make fighting him in the other games so much cooler.

I keep forgetting the 3DS version exists. If I'm not mistaken it's only for New 3DS? I only have a 2DS. I guess no reason to play it, unless for some reason I wanted to see the old graphic style. I still think it could be kind of neat. So if there's one thing I never did, it was filling the map. I did enjoy stumbling into the secret areas, and most of the time if you did the side quests it would set you up to find the secret areas. You usually gained a nice amount of experience from doing so. I'm sort of glad I waited all these years to play the definitive edition. It exceeded my expectations, and I wasn't even sure if I was going to enjoy the game. As much as I've talked about this game, I only played it in June 2020. So about 6 months ago, I bought it with my birthday money. I loved it so much, that I did the entire thing in a couple weeks. Draw Distance is the one thing that does bother me. It's hard to feel immersed when the game is loading everything in front of your face. But PS4 was actually the graphically better version of Dragon Quest 11. I guess because it's a stronger system. It's not a massive difference. Plus I like the portability. I can take it to my room and play before bed. (so much for what I said about unplugging before bed). The switch battery dies really quickly, so that can be problematic. I usually don't play that long anyways. Do you have a regular switch or the switch lite? I know there's a battery improvement.

Aw, thanks for the clip. I had to watch it twice but I understand the context of it. She seems excited to talk about anime since she isn't able to talk about it around her parents. Didn't really understand that ending about her identity, but I guess that's because it's leading into another conversation. I can see how you find it relatable. Did you like any other characters from the show or was she your absolute favorite?

Yeah for sure the water park was a nice place. I'm glad we did the trip before covid hit. It's really bad here in the U.S, so it was sort of the last memory before all this started. As a random question, do you tend to look at the new year with eager anticipation or dread? I'll admit it's always anxiety inducing for me. I can't help but to look at it as a big picture, and I wonder how much is going to change by the end of the year. Sometimes I wish life had just a little bit more predictability.

Editing my message after playing mega man 4 for a bit: Uh okay I found a wire in dive-mans stage and it played cheery music. I guess I did something right. Then it took me back to the start of the stage. I have no idea what this item does, but I stumbled on it by accident.
I made a bit of progress, but Drill Man's stage was starting feel irritating. I don't understand how to get past those falling rocks. They take large chunks of damage, and fall too quickly to run past. I used two energy tanks and that part still killed me. I quit the stage because maybe I need a power up or something? So I did bright man which also felt ridiculously hard towards the end. However at least I completed that one. Then pharaoh man was easy. I only got killed once in that stage. I saw the spikes which have become the most stressful part of playing these games, and thought "Oh no". But...that was it. They weren't tough to get past, and the stage felt so short. I saw the desert stage and for some reason just expected the toughest stage ever. Thanks for sharing, that was pretty interesting. I liked how towards the end it flashed the previous robots Mega Man had beaten (Woodman, Airman, Quickman). To me these games are very cutesy, but that actually put things into another perspective. I wonder if the robots feel anything about being beaten by megaman, or even being forced into reconstruction for those rematches in the castle. Speaking of the legacy collection, I do like these little challenges. I keep trying to beat the yellow devil in Mega Man 1 without the glitch whenever I load the game.

To be fair, our switch is in a different room from the Playstation 4 and Xbox. It's a 3 story house, sometimes I do move stuff around when I want to hang out in a different room. Usually I'd rather just hang out on the bottom floor so that's where I put the consoles. My older siblings visit during christmas and like to play the systems, so I put it in a place convenient for them when they come over. But yeah really not a big fan of the stigma. Feels like one group just wanting to express superiority over another, and nobody should be shamed for just wanting to have fun.

What is considered a hardcore game? I'm not entirely sure if I'm correct, but I think of mainstream titles such as League of Legends or Dota (The stuff that's always trending on twitch's homepage). I guess as far as these mainstream titles go, I played Fortnite occasionally. I'm not good at it, and usually stealth around way too passively. Oh, what system did you buy Skyrim for? I feel like on Switch is was overpriced (Still $60 where it's dropped to like $30-$40 everywhere else). I guess the portability is nice, but just not worth it. I haven't played many games on phone recently, but I liked Fairune quite a bit. Oh I did get my brother Skyrim for Christmas last year. He hadn't played it either. When he left it helped us keep in touch, because we could both play and text each other about our experiences. Sadly, we both seem to have lost interest at the same time. This year I bought him Dragon Quest 11.

That's interesting, especially how you mentioned she was a commentator. Was she more of a local commentator or was she more of a known person who traveled? Not sure how I would handle having a large following online. Honestly it just sounds stressful. I could probably hold my own in tournaments, but I'm just not into them. I think I did one tournament which was hosted online, and I placed second. It was a humorous award. The guy hosting wasn't offering money, but instead offering a moderator position in his twitch chat. I would rather have the money, but that day nothing was going on and I thought maybe it could be fun. I ended up doing way better than I thought. Especially because my favorite character is considered one of the worst. I like how you mentioned you could fight Richard's ghost. That sound so neat and I'm a big fan of games doing stuff like meeting other protagonists. I always hear the name Alucard when I hear castlevania. For some reason I thought that was another name for Dracula. Isn't it the same dracula through the series or is it his grandchildren again?

Yep I agree, it really does make the game feel slow. I did the same thing with picking up every single quest. My reasoning is because I wasn't that good at combat and wanted to be well off in levels. But that's one issue I have with Xenoblade. The quests aren't very interesting and I just end up speeding through the dialogue. There were a couple I found okay, such as Earnest Fib's on Bionis Leg. Eyreth sea felt like a chore to navigate with all the quests. (Swimming is not fast in Xenoblade). I couldn't beat the lightspeed sonid challenge even above level, and I just felt bad at the game. I mean I don't think Alcamoth quests go away until near the end, however if you put quests off they start to pile up and then you just have more and more to do. I'm not usually pick about this stuff, but Sword and Shield had a couple issues which actually began to bother me. Indoor battles had no backgrounds and the draw distance was poor, so stuff kept popping up on screen. Other than that it's still pokemon and it's still fun. But it felt like when I play a phone game, and have to turn off a bunch of settings because my phone can't handle it. Interestingly, the PS4 version of Dragon Quest 11 did not have these quality of life features. It was the first one I played, and now I'm playing the Switch version which is the definitive edition. It makes me enjoy these features even more.

I remember being in elementary school during the release of Heartgold/SoulSilver. People would take the pokewalker's to recess. I wasn't super into pokemon at the time, but I thought it was cool.

My experience was slightly backwards. When I listened to her talk in the first few minutes of playing, I realized quickly she had the same speaking mannerisms as me. (Especially because occasionally my voice quivers mid-sentence). In a strange way it made me self-conscious, and I started not wanting to speak like that anymore. It became especially funny when I would think things in my head, and it would later be in her dialogue options. Since you mention Setsuna, how long did it take before you felt attached with the character? And there's nothing wrong with making a theme. I picked Whismicott as my avatar on here because I like how vibrant and sunshiny it looks. And yeah what you mentioned about moderating would probably the same issue for me. I am not assertive and I usually don't like confrontation.

Congratulations on graduation! (And being able to focus on things your passionate about). both are nice. As for my answer, it was probably the trip I went on with my family before covid started. We spent the weekend at a water park resort. I had lots of fun.
I actually got excited so I already started Mega Man 4. Here's what's happened so far. I couldn't get past Ring Man's stage so I just gave that up for a while. One of those instances where I felt like I made it far and was thinking "Wait I didn't even reach the checkpoint"? I completed Toad Man in the most laughable fight. He killed me a couple times, then I realized you could hit him and he never gets to use his power. So it was just him hopping in circles doing nothing. I beat Dustman and this is the point when I realized wow these stages are getting really impressive. So much has improved since Mega Man 1. It was like a graveyard for robots, you could see the eyes on the flooring, and the robot scrap being crushed. The music also fit the theme. This seems like such a memorable stage. The boss was really easy. His power was easy to simply jump over. That or i'm improving. I reached Skull Man on my last life and got obliterated. Oh and I did see the cut-scene. I noticed and thought "Wow this is showing backstory". It was very cool. How I knew about the console change. To be fair when I got the legacy collection, 7 was the first game I clicked. (No particular reason, I was just happy to see all the games and clicked it randomly). I saw the graphics and that was not NES. Then I also read that 1-6 is the classic series. So I assumed they must have taken a break and switched to PlayStation 1 or something. Since I'm pretty sure mega man isn't a nintendo thing anymore.

Nope it's not too bad. Switching consoles is simply swapping a plug for me. And it's just the HDMI cord which displays it on the TV. Ehhh controllers can be iffy. I admit I've had my mix-ups. Especially with something like Detroit Become Human, which wants you to press the right buttons quickly. To be honest I've never liked the stigma. There are people who enjoy phone games and there's nothing wrong with that. "Casual or Hardcore", in the end I've never understood the big deal. I'd probably fall in the middle. I don't keep up with too many new releases, I don't have a gaming PC or even use steam. However I'm still familiar with all sorts of games and have tried out many different franchises. My only problem with mobile games is that they go insane with pushing micro-transactions.

Huh. It's been around before the original NES game? Wouldn't that make castlevania an arcade game or atari game? Trying to think of stuff that existed before NES. Speaking of smash brothers, time to admit I am pretty familiar with how it works. (Still I don't mind you sharing the story). My switch time has logged over 1,000+ hours for it. Even though almost all of that are just 1v1 matches online. I haven't played it in a couple months, but for a while it was the only thing I used the switch for. Plus it become the main thing helping my anxiety. It requires so much focus it can completely remove whatever I'm feeling. Even though I haven't been an active player, but I still buy all the DLC characters when they periodically release. Oh I wasn't aware at all it did the same as link with the descents. That makes me wonder why they picked Simon and Ritcher. So...these are different characters or just Simon and Ritcher being reincarnated? I'm assuming from later in your post about Juste Belmont they don't get reincarnated. But out of curiosity can you still talk to the old characters? Like are they spirits, or do they leave little notes behind? Oh and thanks, will look at Cave Story original. If I like it then I could just go back and get it for 3DS.

I understand exactly what you meant by that, because when I started a second file it felt so empty. I just wanted the party back, especially Melia. So I ended up rushing into that part, playing as quickly as possible to regroup everybody. (Besides 7, never got attached with that character). And I had the same burnout with the combat system. Especially because I tried to do every single side-quest available. Xenoblade is also such a plot heavy game, I think it does hinder replay value slightly when you know the twists. At the same time lots of things seem to have double meaning, that you would only understand on a second playthrough. For example Shulk having the flash backs when he has the Monado for the first time. That would be confusing on a first run, but you would understand it in context for the second.

For Dragon Quest, anything probably works. 11 is probably the most friendly, while the older games (especially one and two) can require hours of grinding. But the series stays the same. Once your familiar with one your pretty much familiar with them all. There was a really lengthy demo on the switch for Dragon Quest 11. It can take between 8-10 hours. Then you can transfer your progress into the main game if you buy it fully. Also it has speed options, so if you find the fighting repetitive there's an ultra speed option. And in 11 the enemies appear on the overworld, letting you pick and choose how many you want to fight. Which isn't a problem as long as you aren't skipping everything. There's an analogy for Dragon Quest which I really liked. It's basically like fast food. It's simplistic and fun, but you can't expect anything too overly grandiose.

I ended up fortunate in highschool, and found a group to play Smash on 3DS with at lunch every day. Of course there was occasionally a kid who would come over and poke fun at us for playing these systems. I quickly learned that they probably felt insecure and wanted to validate themselves. It didn't bother me anymore when I realized that. Being passionate about things is good. I'm not sure what Love Live is, (google search makes me guess an anime) but 4,000 words is quite amazing. When I write essay's I struggle at going above 800 words. But no it's fine. I've dealt with the same problem about feeling annoying. As for relatable characters, for me it's probably max from "life is strange". That's not really...a good thing. Because I even have the exact same negative traits. I'm observant to such a degree it can annoy the other person. (Like I noticed my mother had her facebook chat window open and saw she was fighting with her friend). (overheard a surprise vacation my family was planning because I was quietly in another room). I'm bad at staying in touch with people. Even some of my speaking mannerisms are the same as the character. I deal with anxiety the same way, I have the same opinions about social outings, etc.

And yep she's the owner. Which is also what I enjoy about this website. Staff actually treats the position as such it should be handled, which is staffing where and when it's needed. Otherwise they just hang out as normal members of the community.

Hopefully it'll be a good year. 2020 was certainly eventful. What was your favorite thing that happened in the year? If you don't mind me asking
heyoo! it's nothing to worry about honestly. i redesigned my entire flair while i was in a pretty bad place a few days ago, but i'm fine now :) it rhymes so well with my username so i'm just keeping it eheh.

thanks a bunch for the concern though. much appreciated :))
belated merry christmas and not belated happy new year aisaka! hope you have a good 2021 :D
