A Song of Ice and Fire [EPILOGUE]

Daenerys Targaryen unwrapped her silver gift. She looked inside the dark package when suddenly a snake lunged out at her and bit her neck. She gasped and flung the thing away, where it landed in the fire and burned to a crisp. She rubbed her neck and felt the poison slowly entering her veins. She must only have two days to live...unless...

She rushed to the others in the room begging for any antidote when she approached a pale figure in a dark corner. He told her he had the antidote and to meet him later that evening for it out by the stables. She felt relief come over her. She was saved.

Brienne of Tarth was kneeling before Robb Stark. "I pledged myself to your mother and your sister and I could not save them. Now I pledge myself to you and your House. I will live and die by the Starks and give you my sword to help your family survive this unforgiving time." Robb nodded and patted her shoulder.

"You are most welcome to our House, m'lady."

A few hours later, after all the gifts had been opened, Daenerys walked out in the snow to the stables. There was the pale man. She approached him and tapped his shoulder, but when he turned around...she saw the face of the White Walker. She turned to run, but his minions were now approaching her.

She fell to her knees and begged for her life, "Please! I'll be dead soon anyway! Just let me live a while longer!"

The Walker pondered her request for a moment before drawing his icy sword and swinging it directly down on her. A resounding crack, cruel and cold cackles from the Walker and his wights, and the thump of Daenerys' body was all that remained. Snow was falling heavily and her lifeless body was soon covered with snow.​
