  • "It appears to be...over? I don't entirely trust what Sliggoo is up to, but that was because my sister and I were trapped by him just before the rest of you showed up. All I know is that whatever we do, let's decide quickly. This burning feeling in my body is making me feel like I could collapse anytime...it hurts enough just to talk."

    In the past, I've seen this plea of mercy attempt to turn the tables against us...but unless it's short of having something like a Full Restore in Sliggoo's inventory, I don't think there's much he can do. What do you guys think?

  • Even if we do nothing and agree to believe said Swamp Lord and spare his life, its going to faint from Poison next turn unless Rinnia offers her Pecha Berry. Thing is, wouldn't we get all the loot if he were to fall and would we care if we were escorted through the marsh when there are no enemies left?

    So... really.... what motivation do we have to keep him "alive"? Also who wants the KO honor? Dusk can give a HH boost and Rinnia can finish it off. Sound good and btw, Priscilla got a 2nd Revival herb. Might come in handy when we split up but will require that we give one to each team.

  • I voted to for 2nd option. And I agree with what Nah said. I don't think anyone would care if a map would be re-used after a while with different enemies and objective.

    And you can use Mansion map from Challenges event for letting me and ddrox use your code.

  • Lily: The purple Dragon is very hurt from the Ice Cream Poison and appears to have surrendered. He will most likely succumb to Poison next round unless we decide to yse Ralts' Pecha Berry and unpoison him. But what if he has say an antidote and is being deceptive and if he did wouldn't he have already used it.

    He may have Dynamite and take as many of us down as he can. What shall I do?

  • I've never played Fire Emblem but are there scenarios where sparing an enemy's life can come out to pay dividends later on in the game? It just seems like there is no reason to allow the boss to live since there are no more enemies in the Swamp(we defeated them all, unless Lycan is alluding to the next map being a repeat if we don't take the boss' offer) and we get whatever is on the boss once it falls(See Lombre in Battle#1). So again, what leverage does Sliggoo have? I'd also add that if Sliggoo was spared, what would stop him from betraying us in the same manner as the Eevolutions?

    Unless I hear from FE veterans that it's worthwhile to keep him alive, I'm voting to finish the boss. How we do it, I don't care.

  • Let me clarify that Sliggoo becomes restored to full if you decide to end the battle here and rest up. (That also means Dusk wouldn't go down by his Burn either no matter in what way you're ending this now, so you got that going at least!) Whether you accept the Swamp Lord's offer or not may (or may not, who can tell?) have an influence on the things happening hereafter or at some point in the future.
    I can also point out that FE knowledge won't really help much here. I played only a couple games of the franchise, but I don't think you get options like these in the games. (Don't quote me on that though.)

    Also, it seems we will be trying out a two-map adventure starting the next chapter! I thank you all for your input and ideas, it was really helpful!
    Since the poll looks pretty decisive, would you need a poll to decide on Sliggoo's matters instead or can you figure things out together? :p

    You know what, I actually might do that. I know at least for sure I'm definitely going to steal the haunted mansion idea at some point in the future because it is really cool. :D

  • As much as it pains me to say this(I have a bloodlust dark side), showing mercy now ought to pay off in the long run. I mean sure there is a huge risk of getting backstabbed by this Dragon, but what do we have to lose outside of potentially gaining a new ally or perks we wouldn't get if we were to KO the boss this turn? Furthermore, he offered to get us through the Marsh and seeing as that points to no more Marsh maps ever again, I think it's worth taking him up on it. What do we have to lose other than getting doublecrossed(which will likely happen anyway with that Pansear that ran off).

    Unless every single one of us is Deadpool, I think the choice is clear no? Yet I'm willing to let you all decide like a Roman Emperor on whether to finish him or let him live.

  • From what knowledge I have of FE, the moment two specific people meet on the battlefield is the moment that allies can be made, but that moment is lost when the fighting actually begins...so this isn't something that can happen in FE, usually the bosses will go down fighting. The fact we had a Pokemon or two that chose to retreat in the previous battle means that future maps could be interesting regardless. So the way I see it, as long as this battle ends with our choice, our forces are already hurting pretty badly as-is, so the sooner we end this, the better. Priscella has already grabbed all of the items and the outlaws are finished.

    I say let's rest up and hear what Sliggoo has to say.

  • Well that's three in favor of sparing the Dragon. Unless there's an objection against doing this, I think we might as well call the battle over, rest up and move onto Battle#3 with two groups. Perhaps our Dragon here will send us off on where to look for our treasure and maybe the mercy shown here will lead to positive outcomes later on in the journey. Anyways, I figure we ought to give everyone until tomorrow to chime in. If not, let's get to intermission and start talking about who gets what on the five items.

    To recap my position on the five items:

    Luminous Moss: This makes anyone hit by a Water Attack gain a boosted Special Defense for a few turns. Best utilized on a target who takes normal damage or less from such moves. Presently on Alex(Eevee) and I can't think of anyone else more deserving.

    Big Root: Only a handful of us can recover life so that limits who can get this. Default pick is Lily since she has Absorb right now but can upgrade to Mega Drain which does the same thing. If Coral gets Aqua Ring then he's also a candidate.

    Black Sludge: Right now no one can equip it but Epilogue is planning to switch characters again and go with Bulbasaur, a Grass/Poison Type. Since it's part Poison, he can safely use it while foregoing needing Leech Seed. Therefore, he's the ideal pick here.

    Miracle Seed: Boosts Grass Damage 15%, hence three of us are potential targets: Lily, Bulbasaur and Linus. Bulbasaur got Black Sludge so he's out of the running and Lily can boost her Grass moves(or any move for that matter) with Growth so Linus feels like the optimal pick here.

    Reviver Seeds x2: We now have two of these so seeing as our group is going to be splitting up, one should stay with Priscilla while the other goes to someone else, preferably with mobility and whom will stay behind in a support role. I'm thinking Susato, while his mobility could be better, is the ideal pick here.

    These decisions aren't final as Berries and other purchases also have to be taken into consideration.

    We should sell the Cut HM once everyone who wants to learn the move has done so. Right now Krakonos is the only one who can use it and with Truant, it really hampers his ability to attack anyone, much less Annoying Trees. I had a though regarding a certain move to get around that but it doesn't work in the games and if it doesn't work in the games, it won't work here unless Lycan permits it lol.

    Also remember we can sell items we haven't used or that we are unlikely to use in the future.

    PS: You'd dump Felix for Dawn in a heartbeat ;)

    So knowing above, here's what I'm thinking. We have 20 participants atm(AFAIK) so we'll have even teams and I tried to divide the Reviver Seeds and typings as best as I could. Anyways....

    Team#1: Mozilla, Susato, Rinnia, Linus, Felix, Mags, Cuddles, Nah, WooWoo Elwind
    Team#2: Alex, Coral, Lutin, Mercy, Hit, Priscilla, Bulbasaur, Lily, Krakonos, Robin

    Hence Team composition is:
    Team#1: Fire, Normal, Psychic/Fairy, Grass/Ghost, Electric, Electric/Steel, Water, Dragon/Ground, Ghost and Dark. 1 Reviver Seed + 2 Heal Pulses
    Team#2: Normal, Water/Fairy, Ghost/Fairy, Rock/Flying, Electric, Grass/Poison, Grass, Normal and Psychic. 1 Reviver Seed + three people able to heal themselves if Coral gets Aqua Ring and Lily keeps Absorb or has Mega Drain.

    Each team has a Steel Type, has anti-Ghost/Psychic means with Dark/Ghost moves, anti-Electric with 1 Ground type in Team#1 while Team#2 gets two Grass Types. Anti-Grass with me on Team#1 while Team#2 gets Hit and Bulbasaur. Anti-Steel for Team#1 with me but Team#2 will struggle on that(particularly since your Water type that does normal damage is weak to Steel). At least Electric, Dark and Ghost harms it for normal damage(or moves that deal fixed damage like Robin's Psywave). If anyone has team suggestions for Battle#3, feel free to chime in during Intermission.

I had a though regarding a certain move to get around that but it doesn't work in the games and if it doesn't work in the games, it won't work here unless Lycan permits it lol.

    If you're thinking about Worry Seed, then no, I'm afraid that would not work. :p

    We should probably wait and see what the next maps are before deciding on how to split up the teams.

    Regarding Fire Emblem and recruiting enemies: It's a common thing in the series to recruit enemy units to your side, and usually you do it by having a specific unit (often the protagonist) talk to that unit. It's less common to recruit enemy commanders, but it still happens, although usually they don't join you until after you clear the map/beat them. There's also one instance I can think of where an enemy commander "joins" you, only to betray you later.

    But I will give Sliggoo a chance. However, I would like to make it clear to Mr. Swamp Lord that if he so much as thinks of screwing us over, I will hunt him down and kill him myself. Violently.
