The short-lived look of surprise on Sorae's face when he noticed Leria almost made her laugh, but he managed to fight off what surely would have become feminine giggles just as Sorae sighed and muttered "You're alive at least."
"Yeah I am... now at least... I may as well have been dead for a bit when I first realized what happened to us, I completely shut down at first. Just do me a favor and don't show me any mirrors for a bit." She - er he... Leria looked around the classroom and couldn't help but notice there was still no sign of either Chris or Milly, her ears folded back at the thought.
She was only pulled away from her worried thoughts when Sorae brought up his curiosity on how exactly the whole gender switch may have happened. "You know it's a more complicated question than I thought it would be. In a way Fairytale seems the most logical answer at first, but I mean why would a group that seems to want to destroy us do something so... immature and harmless to us?"
"Well..." Sorae sighed, running her hand through her hair. "I mean, humans are vicious, but then again, Youkai are equally so in my opinion. So who knows? Maybe their leader had some kind of love affair with a human but got rejected, and boom- Fairytale was made. But that doesn't seem like it would mean something like...
this." She got up and stretched, before turning to Ryuu... sa? She thought about it for a moment, as it seemed like the logical name- nevertheless, she listened to "Ryuu-sa" clear her throat and speak about... war?! Sorae looked to Leria. "...gender-swapping is an act of war now? Well-" She looked forward towards Divine, who had suddenly burst into the room.
She quickly left with Ryuu, and Sorae found it amusing how Divine couldn't control her own power.
This could be interesting... although in terms of Yasha powers, I'm one to talk. Sorae looked at the board, which showed a route to the gym- she didn't need it though, she had gone there before. She grinned for a moment. "Now that I think of it... war could prove surprising, huh? Like a twist! ...Actually, there's been a lot of twists for a while. Almost enough, but I'm fine.
Though I've had enough of ostriches. Darn bird is eating all my cookies." She picked up her bag, which was heavier than usual due to the physical changes, and swung it over her shoulder. "Wingee, do you think life can get too exciting?"
Leria stood out of her chair with Sorae and shrugged. "Yes and no really, you could say it can get too exciting when things are happening like people getting hurt or dying, but then you could also say that's a matter of what's causing the excitement, not the excitement itself." He looked at the ground and his smile faded for a second as they walked out of the classroom after their teachers. "I hope Chris and Milly will be at the gym, I haven't seen either of them since they wandered off yesterday."
"True... and true." Sorae thought for a moment. "I guess you're right. And as for Milly and Chris, I haven't seen them in a while either, now that I think of it. Well, there's no use worrying about it for the moment, if they miss whatever we're about to see we can help them catch up later. And consul them concerning their new... bodies, I guess." He shivered slightly at the thought, and didn't even want to think about what they could end up looking like, before deciding to switch the topic. "Well, Lerion..." She thought for a moment, but decided not to call her "Leriona" as to not remind her of her "new" gender. "...how does it feel to be going into 'war?' Feel like a soldier yet?" She joked cheerfully.
"Hehe" A mischievous, almost unnerving smile formed on Lerion's face, and she bared one of her fangs during her response. "No, I'm feeling a bit more like a hungry war hound. Fairytale better watch out, because if they hurt anyone I care about they'll end up like the last ones who took someone important from me. I think my early life in the forest will come in handy here." She relaced and the smile turned much more natural. "How about you? Gonna ride in on an armored Ostrich o'war? Being a yasha makes you kind of like a defacto leader of your own squad once you summon some beasties."
"An armored Ostrich of war?" She laughed- just the thought of herself riding on an ostrich- and I mean an armored Ostrich- with a serious face and a bow at the ready was ridiculous. "It may just come down to that! Today's supposed to be training too, according to Ryuu, so I'll probably have a bunch of other animals wreaking havoc. And being the leader of my own squad... hehe, wouldn't be too bad. Although then again, I can't say I'm too excited about summoning so much. I'll need a whole bottle o' painkillers or something." She laughed. "Compared to you, though, I'm just a city boy with a bunch of pets and a weapon."
"Training huh? I could probably use some training, my TK powers aren't the best, now if I could start flinging boulders that would be awesome." Leria almost put her hand on Sorae's shoulder, but she pulled it away at the last second with a little yelp. "That was close... anyways don't doubt yourself so much, some of the most famous war heroes of all time started out as "simple farm boys" and most of them didn't even have animals backing them up, why not a city boy with a cadre of animal commandos? Commandimals?"
"Sorae and the Commandimals..." She grinned. "Y'know, if I summon enough, I could probably summon an entire army! We won't be a classroom anymore, we'll be a classroom and an army of ANIMAL CO- I mean COMMANDIMALS!" She thought for a moment. "Hrm... speaking of, I haven't tried summoning like this yet... I don't know if it'd be a good time to do that now, but would it be any different?"
Gah... genders are so confusing. I'd rather have just gotten a cold for a day rather than be a chick. Sorae looked ahead. "We're getting close to the gym. Can't wait to train under our teachers rather than on my own, since it's hard staying up late and reading books when sleep seems so attractive, haha..."
"Tell that to Allister." Leria chuckled. "His bed must be so neat in it's state of ultimate loneliness." She tapped her chin thoughtfully. "I wonder what they'll have us do? Divine doesn't seem too in control of her... his - whatever, abilities right now, and Ryuu... what even is he? I'll have to do some sparring with Luna while this whole thing is still going on, then I'll actually be able to attack her for real. Plus... it couldn't hurt to get a bit closer to someone who will probably go back to being really pretty before long either..."
"Ah, Allister? I give him cookies sometimes, 'cause it looks really lonely in that library. I mean, he's always there when he's not in class, and I don't even know what he's studying about. More spells? I should probably know too, my sister's a witch
in every single way possible." She raised an eyebrow at Leria with a light smile.
My wingee has a crush! I think... I think I've succeeded, although it seems like not entirely since he's afraid for when she turns back into a female. ...Maybe sparring with Luna will fix it though? "Yeah, I agree! Just go up to he- him and spar. There might be some things about him that you would've never known otherwise." She grinned. "Don't worry, wingee, if anything happens I'll probably be sparring against someone else some ten or fifteen feet away."
She raised an eyebrow at that last part. "What's that supposed to mean? I think I can handle a bit of sparring, just because she's really a girl doesn't mean... huh, I guess that could be a problem, I appreciate it." There they were at the gym, it made Lerion pretty happy to see it since it had been one of their main hangout spots for the past week, what with basically being the most athletically minded 'clique' sort of deal in 3C. She held the door open for Sorae and was surprised to see that the two of them appeared to be the first students there besides one guy Lerion didn't remember meeting before, was he another one of the new students?
"Well I guess this is the part where we wait anxiously for our big 'choice'. I have to say, if Ryuu's going to ask us what I think he is I already know my answer, and it's a big violence-promising yes. I don't know that I owe much loyalty to the school itself, but you, Milly, Chris, Yami, and Luna are all the reason I need to fight." He ran his fingers through his hair for a few seconds, a bit embarrassed about turning serious all of a sudden.
Sorae smiled excitedly. If that sentence didn't make her anxious to get in there and fight Fairytale, then she didn't know what would. "Well said. I don't owe much to the school- besides room, board, and education- but if I'm fighting for something, it may not be so much for the school, but for you guys. And the rest of the class, too, and to prove myself in a way. But point is-" He grinned- "When I let out the Commandimals, it's all for you guys, alright? Now let's go and hear whatever Ryuu wants us to hear." She went to stand by where pretty much everyone else was, prepping for whatever important stuff- besides "are you ready for war-" Ryuu would say.
Leria had a smile stuck on her face as she followed Sorae. After all, what better reason was there to fight?
