  • I recently looked through my old binder and I found a emboar typo card, it says evolved from Charmeleon. Can I get a price check please?

This happens frequently with counterfeits. Look for more typos and compare the fonts and Energy icons to official cards and you may notice a difference (the card back may also appear blurrier than official cards).

Does this Spanish base set booster box look fake?

    Looks kind of saturated?

Having a hard time figuring out what the Spanish version of the motto is.

Actually, question: Spanish as in Spain, or Spanish as in Latin America?

Yeah I'm struggling with this one too. It's saturated but that doesn't necessarily mean it's counterfeit.. but with the language barrier it's hard to see the obvious mistakes of a fake like spelling errors (at least for me lol).

One thing that concerns me is that it appears to have been opened by way of the perforated circle on the top. Now, this could easily just be a result of poor shipping and handling, but it's something to consider.

I also did comparisons between the WOTC plastic wrapping, and while many of the boxes tend to be a bit messy, I'm concerned that it looks like the Blastoise side of your box may have been repaired with a heat gun. Again, sometimes companies make mistakes and it's not unheard of to get a less than ideal box.

My recommendation is to be careful. Can't give you a solid yes or no on this one since both the "it's fake" and "it's real" argument have quite a bit going for it. If you open it, please let us know if all the holo and rare cards are still there. I'd be very interested to see what you pull from it.

    Good luck!

Hi everyone, I came across my collection of cards and have made some progress, but still need some help. Hope you guys can help me out !
So far, I've been able to split my EU cards into different categories, don't really know if there's anything valuable there ? I also have a ton of Japanese cards, where some seem to be early prints. Could anyone help me out how to get a rough estimate on how much these are worth ? I don't have to know it up to the cent, just a rough estimate would be great. If need be, I'm also fine with letting someone tax it for me, but I'm at a crossroad here... hope you guys can help !!

Hi I have a set of 5 cards of which have outrageous hp. I'm wondering if they are fake or misprints? The backs look faded, but the cards are from 2015. I'm not very familiar with pokemon so sorry for the lack of detail. One card is a Florges with 45680 hp, the collector number is 66/106, has Pokébeach.com in the bottom right of the picture. Thanks for your time 🙏

Absolutely 100% counterfeits if they're all ridiculous HP counts. HP misprints for the number basically do not happen.

What probably happened was someone took the scans Pokebeach.com does for their card database so people know what the card looks like, saved a copy of the image to their computer, opened something like Photoshop and edited those HP totals, and then printed the cards off.

Hi guys, I hope you don't mind me asking. But I have a few rare Pokemon cards, and I'm not sure how much they are worth. I have a first edition Machamp card for example that I see listed for a few pounds, a few hundred pounds, a even for a few thousand, so I'm not sure which is correct. See the images below, I would describe it as near mint condition, bar some slight scuffs along the edge of the back.

    See the attachments.

    Many thanks.

99% of the Base Set Machamp were printed in 1st edition, so it's really the ones WITHOUT the symbol that are worth real money. Also depends on if the card is shadowless, which yours is not. I'd say it's probably worth $10, looking at the condition.

Thanks so much for the reply. OK so you mean without the 1st edition symbol, they are worth more?

I have a few others without this symbol, would these be worth more.

Fairy means specifically that Machamp is worth more without that symbol. Machamp is the only card that applies to, and only the one from the Base Set.

The 3 you posted in this post that I've quoted would not be worth more than their 1st Edition stamped counterparts.

The hierarchy for most Base Set cards goes:

    1st Edition Shadowless
Shadowless non-1st Edition (usually referred to as unlimited)
    Shadowed non-1st Edition

With errors sprinkling in usually a tier above the print run they're an error for, though they also have to be actual errors and not machine printing defects.

    For Machamp, the hierarchy is:

No 1st Edition stamp (and, obviously, confirmed as authentic and not counterfeit)
    1st Edition Shadowless
    Shadowed 1st Edition

As for pricing, all of those are shadowed ones:

Gyarados, Shadowed non-1st Edition: $10. Has some edgewear.
Clefairy, Shadowed non-1st Edition: $5. Has some edgewear and scratches on the holo.
Charizard, Shadowed non-1st Edition: $90. Has some edgewear. Prices are all over the place because people do appear desperate to get Base Set Charizards, but I don't think yours would be in good enough shape to list at NM (near mint).

Considering there wasn't actually a Giratina in the Rising Rivals set, only in the Platinum base set - which has a symbol that is probably supposed to be Giratina but quite frankly just looks like a crab - I'm inclined to say yours is a counterfeit.

Do you have a picture of the card so we can confirm with 100% certainty, though?

Hope I'm not being too cheeky, but would love to know about these cards too if you don't mind. I have two from the original movie that they gave out with the tickets.

    Hi

I was wondering if you could guess a price on a card

    Shellder
    Fossil set
    1st edition
    54/62
It is a "common" Card, However it is a full hologram and I've been unable to find another like it.
    It's near mint or mint.

    Thanks in advance.
