Crossroads;RETRIBUTION - ACT II

One day, only weeks ago, a number of young trainers woke up in their homes in Cherrygrove City, Johto. This was the day when the resident pokémon researcher, professor Pine, had promised to give them a rare pokémon and a pokédex in return for their participation in a certain study. The study basically involved training their given pokémon and reporting any successes or oddities back to the professor. Since it's tradition that most kids take a leave from school to go on a pokémon journey once they become teenagers, this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

What the young trainers were about to learn though, was that dark powers lurk in Johto these days. A criminal organisation called Team Rocket is creeping into higher and higher ranks in the pokémon world, and they seem difficult to stop. Money is power in this world. Pine's trainers encountered Team Rocket on their travels and learned that they had been kidnapping pokémon from trainers and performed horrible experiments on them. Experiments that somehow even made a few pokémon start speaking human language. Specifically, the shiny pokémon...

However, an underground organization opposing TR has formed, and they are doing everything they can to mess up TR's business. Pine is one of the front figures in the resistance, or as the gym leader Whitney has named them: the Retribution. Other leaders of the organization includes gym leader Bugsy of Azalea Town, and his friend old master Kurt. And most certainly more well known figures around the region.

Recent history:
The Retribution had planned on taking more drastic action already before the Pine trainers reached Azalea Town. As they did arrive, Bugsy and Kurt allowed these brave souls to help drive Team Rocket out of Slowpoke Well. They didn't manage to capture the residing TR Admin, but the kidnapped pokémon were freed and the operation there ended permanently. As the trainers struggle to get back into their life of pokémon training and keep going in professor Pine's study, Kurt and Bugsy have decided to move along with their original plans after all.

New plot:
Bugsy has rallied a few interested young trainers who were currently residing in Azalea. After having let them help out in his gym for a while, he has made sure that he can trust them, and that they are now ready to be sent out on missions for the Retribution. Sometimes, the Azalea trainers will operate alone on Bugsy's orders, other times they will team up with each other or even with the Pine trainers. And sometimes, they will be free to journey onwards in the region of Johto on their very own pokémon adventure.

The world of pokémon lies ahead!

Currently, SPOTS ARE OPEN!

the workings of the RP

Areas will be presented as chapters, and each chapter will give you options on what events or missions to undertake. You will not be able to do them all, so the main game lies in choosing the events that will shape your character and the adventure to your taste. There will also be setting descriptions and lists of pokémon available for capture.

Players choosing the same events should do them together. This is to make the RP enjoyable for you so that you won't have to write on your own, and also to avert story troubles. Player interaction can be done through joint posts, which can be created by sending a PM back and forth and building onto the text until a story worthy of a post has been made - OR by using titanpad! You may of course also take turns posting directly in the IC thread if you prefer that.

There are no levels. Instead, your pokémon will grow by earning new moves or quirks or abilities once in a while. The GM will hand out these things after you have finished an event.

If you want a pokémon to evolve, ask in the OOC thread. The GM will decide whether it's time or not for your pokémon to evolve. Item evolution works like Stone evolution. You can only aquire Stones/Items through events and once you own them you may perform the evolution whenever you want. Trade evolution works like normal evolutions.

When capturing pokémon, you have to wait for approval! You may battle wild pokémon or befriend them, but before the "capture" is complete, you need to end your post ambigously and wait for the GM to tell you if it is a success or failure.

You may trade pokémon with other players. You may only trade pokémon with NPC characters if it's specifically stated in the chapter post.

Just so you know... The events of Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver have not occured in this pokémon world. The story of this RP will sort of replace the game canon, just so we're all in the clear about that ;)

Pine Trainers

The players who were part of Chapter 8 (Slowpoke Well) are welcome to rejoin. Simply submit your old SU in the OOC thread. If you have made any edits since you signed up for the last thread, please state so so that I'll give it a re-read.

You will start on Chapter 10 (Ilex Forest). If you had unfinished business in Chapter 9 (Azalea Town part 2), you may simply recap it in a post when your character is in Ilex.

Azalea Trainers

New players! Welcome to Crossroads, a RP that has been running like a badly oiled roller coaster since January 2014 <3

You will sign up as a trainer who already owns one or a couple of pokémon. You are free to be inventive when it comes to your character's background, but you will have been living in (or temporarily residing in) Azalea Town when the RP starts, since you have been recruited by Bugsy and been helping out around his jungle-like Bug type gym for the past few weeks (or months if you really want that). Now, Bugsy has told you about Team Rocket's dark business around the region and about the Retribution's effort to thwart them. Police won't listen as they have been corrupted. The Pokémon League Association is too busy in other parts of the world to listen to rumors in Johto that don't even seem to bother the local police force. So you are the region's only true chance of becoming a safe and happy place again.

You won't own any shiny pokémon yourself, but you have been told that the Pine trainers own shiny pokémon and that if you should encounter them on your journeys, you are to collaborate with and befriend them as best as you can.

You will start on Chapter 10 (Ilex Forest). If you have anything you want to speficically state that your character did before leaving home/Bugsy's gym/Azalea Town overall, you may simply reference/recap it in a post when your character is in Ilex.

rules

1 - Follow all the PC and Roleplay Theatre rules.

2 - The rating is T. I don't see a reason to describe battles, romance or injuries with more detail than this rating will allow. You are free to describe pokémon battling in a way you feel comfortable with, but things should be closer to the anime's style than to a bloody war or real life streetfight. Although, pokémon have died... But it wasn't graphic, I swear (A)

3 - Be polite and nice OOC. I have the final word on everything, for the sake of organisation.

4 - If you want to sign up as an Azalea Trainer, post your interest and I'll put you on a list. Then, I might pick the first finished SUs or the best ones, or possibly the ones that seem to bring the best characters for our existing ensemble. You don't sign up to CR for some quick fun - we build a long journey story here and your character will become a legend :)

Name: Aberdeen Montany
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Theme song:
Spoiler:

Family: Aberdeen used to live in Cherrygrove City with his mother and father. Little more than two years ago, his older sister Anabel died in an accident involving pokémon, and that event has shaped Deen a lot. Aberdeen's father is a very artsy and cheerful man who works in Cherrygrove's finest flower shop, while his mother is a very concerned and somewhat strict woman who works as a nurse at the local Pokémon Center. They each had one pokémon pet who became playmates of Aberdeen and Anabel as the children grew up: Sunflora and Wigglytuff.

Goals and interests: Aberdeen has lived a fairly normal and easy life and has a couple of great friends but also nowadays people who find him annoying at times. This is because he changed when his sister died and became more extrovert and reckless. His main goal with this journey and why he was so willing to accept a pokémon from Pine and do the study, is that he wants to take chances, take risks and experience things. He wants to do the things others wouldn't, he wants to be that crazy, daring person. Because his sister, despite being a tough girl in her own right, never really took any risks and preferred to be smart and play things safe... and that didn't do her any good in the end. Aberdeen refuses to end his life like that too. He will take on the gym challenge because it seems hard, but he isn't completely focused on challenging every trainer he sees or capturing every pokémon he encounters. Becoming the greatest pokémon trainer is the goal of so many kids nowadays; he'd rather become the greatest human being.

Strengths: Ab can surprise others by thinking out of the box or doing seemingly crazy spur-of-the-moment things. When offended or outsmarted, he seems to lack a proper sense of pride since he'd admit that he was wrong rather easily. Not easily confused; sees what's important, at least to him right there and then. As such, he is quick thinking in the heat of things but not always the wisest when it comes to big, important decisions. In general, he comes across as outgoing and cheerful. He is also pretty unselfish most of the time, unless he is feeling really impatient.

Weaknesses: Sort of impatient and reckless, stemming from his wish to accomplish something and take risks in life. Doesn't like contemplating things, so can make decisions a bit too quickly sometimes. Contemplation makes people depressed or grumpy, according to him, so if he notices that someone else is like that, he'll feel uneasy. Mostly only afraid of ghosts and anything that's got to do with death (because of his sister being dead and possibly his Pidgey too, and him being a fan of the supernatural after all) but that can make him pretty faint-hearted. Rather physically weak!

Torchic | female | Double Team
Morgan Wilson
age 16 | female

Appearance: Standing on about 155cm, Morgan is a young girl of below average height for her age. She has a pretty slim and small-structured body, most likely inherited from genes. Her most obvious trait is her long pink pig-tails that is tied with a black scrunchie on one end, and on the other end, she has a black tied ribbon that's tied with the other end of her pigtail. As for her outfit, she wears a pink dress that has hot pink lace and patterns. She also wears really long black stockings with light pink lace tied. Finally, she wears light pink buckle shoes.

Family: Morgan's the only child to her mother and father, where her mother works full time as an accountant, and her father works full time as a major drunk. Soon the inevitable happened, and her parents got a divorce, where Morgan was looked after by her mother. She actually used to live near the outskirts of Hoenn until she and her mother moved away to a smaller, less expensive house near Johto's Violet City. Morgan wasn't exactly dependant on her mother, as she always finds herself alone in her home, while her Mom went to work. Her father, she had a lesser relationship with, since she always felt that her dad had no time for her, or rather, she felt that he didn't want her. So, she always had an uneasy relationship with her family in general, but, that was normal to deal with, at least to her.

Goals and Interests: Despite her nature, Morgan likes to take it easy often, and sit out somewhere to drink tea, or read a book outside. She always preferred staying outdoors rather than indoors, because she always had a keen interest in nature, with plant life, the atmosphere, the stars at night, the radiant sun, and most importantly, with Pokemon. She loved Pokemon from a young age, even when she used to live upon Hoenn, she always found herself feeding the wild Taillow and reading books about the wonders of Caterpie evolution. Ever since she was 10, she always dreamed of having her own pokemon, and travelling to her heart's desire. As for pokemon battling, she always wanted to try it out; how she will succeed as a true pokemon trainer, and travelling the lands, looking for battles to increase her experience. But her ultimate goal is to meet as many pokemon as possible, in an attempt to understand more about the world.

Rival: Sometime ago when Morgan was 13, Morgan joined a club of potential pokemon trainers who also had the same goal in mind, to be the best trainers that they can. Perhaps that the members of this group is what Morgan precieves as a Rival? Maybe. However, Morgan generally doesn't really consider anyone to be a 'rival', per se, as she doesn't really have a competitive nature, but more of a go-with-the-flow type of person. There are a couple of people in her club that stick out the most for her, though.

Strengths: Morgan has a sense of tactful-ness about her. She takes good care for her friends, and anything else that she deems important, and no matter what, she'll never abandon anyone in need. Most of the time, she presents a level-headed and calm nature that allows her to think more rationally, so the actions that she does are almost always justified. She's more of a realist than anything, and thus, she's more open minded towards beliefs, attitudes, and other rationale from people.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately, while she does present a calm demeanour, she can also easily blow her temper if there was something that really sets her off. She's not afraid to show her feelings, and that can be a little uneasy going when it comes to decent conversation. Also, with her temper, she can sometimes make decisions on impulse; one that can net her into trouble easily. She's also pretty blunt with people, which can rub them the wrong way, and at first glance, she's not exactly easy going with people, since she can be awfully judgmental of them, even from a first glance. Also? Due from her relaxed nature, she can be awfully lazy at times, leaving off important tasks until the very last minute, or better yet for her, leave someone else to do it. Finally, she likes to tease others, on one hand, signalling that she likes them, but on another, can be quite annoying to others!

Whoo, part 2! Time to meet some new people~

Christina Langley - Langley Residence

Name: Christina Langley

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Current Pokémon: Sindy (Shiny, female Quilava), Conan (Male Bagon), Shade (Male Haunter), Unown T

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Christina is generally as she looks in the picture, albeit she usually carries her bag with the strap on the opposite shoulder, she doesn’t have those odd appendages around her wrists (Though she does still wear the gloves), and she doesn’t have the chains coming off of her belt.

Family: She lives with her father, her mother travelling overseas very often, due to her being employed on the S.S. Aqua as a chef. She also used to live with her brother, Marcus, who’s two years older than Christina, and left on his Pokémon Journey when he was sixteen, three years ago. The Langley family live in a moderate, two-story house near the outskirts of the town with a broken-down playground not too far away from where they live.

Goals and interests: Christina wants to, in the end, become even more famous than her brother. She has no idea how to do this, or what exactly it is she wants to –do- to become famous, but a Pokémon Journey, for her, is about bonding with your Pokémon and, most of all, discovery. Both of the personal and the worldly kind. So she figures the Journey is a great place to start looking for answers to the questions she’s asking herself, not bothered by the fact that her goal more or less just spurred from her brother teasing her relentlessly since they were little.
She greatly enjoys the ideas of adventure and exploring and, unlike most kids, had a very mixed childhood of both playing video games, and roaming the forest’s edge around the town they lived in. She was fascinated with the idea of finding new areas of the woods that nobody had been to before, to map it out and set up a little camp and afterwards, fight off pretend-monsters and evil Pokémon. She enjoys music a lot and isn’t afraid of showing it with a bit of dancing or humming along if she knows the song and it’s played loud enough. Another thing to note is that she loves swimming, bathing and sailing, thanks to her mother’s early influence on her, and she won’t shy away from taking a dip in a lake, should she come across one.

Rival: You –could- say that Christina’s older brother Marcus, is sort of a rival to her. She always had to hear about how Marcus was insanely popular with the girls, and he constantly belittled her, picking fun at her whenever he could, though in a… brotherly sense. The fact that he left on his journey before her and he’s older than her, as well as the fact that he’s started becoming a somewhat well-known Pokémon battler on TV, secretly makes Christina want to do ten times better than Marcus, though she’d never admit that to anyone.

Strengths: Christina is a very go-and-get-‘em type person, meaning that she likes to tackle her problems head on, rather than wait around and try and think of some other solution. She can be very feisty, but at the same time, very cheerful and happy, and despite any first impressions that would hint towards a tomboy, she’s definitely not afraid of showing her more feminine side either. Due to her ‘adventuring’ and running around in early childhood and even as she grew up, she’s become a rather agile person as well, though not very strong, she’s definitely quick on her feet.
She cares a lot for her friends and those around her, believing in fairness and fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves. However, if her friends or people close to her are in danger, her attitude changes from her usually feisty mannerisms, to a more cautious one, which makes it clear that she would blame herself if something were to happen to them while in her presence.

Weaknesses: Despite her love of the waters and seas, Christina is still deathly afraid of drowning, even more so than most people. Should she be on a bridge or a boat that she starts sensing is about to sink, or a scenario like it, she’ll panic and freak out. As such, she’s also very afraid of underwater Pokémon and certain fish, which is also a reason as to why she would never ever touch any kind of seafood (Though she claims it’s because they have the most horrid stink).
While she’s very spunky and can be very ‘Take charge’, this also words as a double-edged sword, as she can be very stubborn, both in her actions and her point of views, though usually it’s more the latter than the first. Her adventurous mind and her willingness to charge into situations along with her natural curiosity, also often lands her in trouble or bad situations, which, in some cases, could be argued that she sort of asked for. She’s also not very fond of insects or ‘creepy-crawlies’ of any kind, though this is not to the point that her fear of underwater ‘mon stretch. It’s more the ‘Stay at a distance and watch them burn with glee’ sort of situation.

Roleplay sample:
Spoiler:
“Christina, it’s time to get up.”
“Mrngnmmh…”
“Christina, it’s ten in the morning, come on, get out of bed.”
“Nmmfmmhmmh… go’waymnmmmh…”

Christina’s father sighed, resting his hands on his hips as he watched his daughter, bundled up in her bed, under her blanket. When he’d come upstairs to try and wake her up, she’d simply shrugged him off and turned her back to him, continuing to snooze. He then turned and stepped over to the opposite wall, pulling the curtains away from the window, causing the sun to shine through, the rays hitting Christina’s back, which she could very well feel, from the sound of the growl emitting from her as they did.

“Look, young lady, -you- were the one who asked me to help remind you to get out of bed this morning. Now, as far as I can see, you’re still laying in bed, despite the fact that I’ve been trying to wake you for the past-“ He raised his arm to check the clock on his wrist. “- Fifteen minutes! I even let you sleep ten minutes longer the first time I was up here! Now, I don’t know what the professor told you, but if you told me to get you up now, there’s probably a good reason for it! You’ll end up missing out on your journey if you don’t get up, and the Pokémon you’d want the most will be gone!”

During her father’s rant, Christina managed to listen to just about five words he said while pulling the blanket up tighter around her body, murring out quietly. “Mmh, that’s good, dad… nice, warm sleepies… and Pokémon…” Slowly blinking her eyes open, she squinted at the wall she was facing as her father’s words slowly sunk in, her eyes quickly widening as she jerked up into a seated position, panic written all over her face.

“… Crap! Dad, I need breakfast, stat! I have to hurry!”
She practically leapt from her bed to find the clothes and the items she had put out the night before, frantically tearing through her wardrobe as the items weren’t where she remembered putting them a mere ten hours ago. Her father sighed and shook his head with a smile, turning and heading downstairs again while calling out over his shoulder. “Breakfast’s ready, you can grab a few slices of bread on your way out. And your bag and pouch is down here.”

“Thanks, pops!” Christina managed to call out over the sound of her accidentally knocking over a lamp during her struggle to put on her green and white-striped tank top, wincing a little as it landed, but thankfully, it didn’t break against the carpeted floor. She breathed out a small, exhasperated sigh as she looked into the mirror, fiddling with her hair in order to set it up properly, the young, excited soon-to-be-trainer staring back at her. What a start to a day… and I get the feeling this is only the beginning.

Name: Melody Hughes

Age: 15

Gender: Female

Current Team:

Appearance: Melody's appearance is pretty similar to that of her picture up above. She is a bit short for her age, standing at 4'9". Because of this, Melody often gets people to confuse her for being a few years younger than she actually is. Due of her tomboyish nature, she tends to avoid wearing more girlish colors such as pinks and purples and wear shorts as opposed to skirts and dresses. When traveling, she keeps all her items in a dark green backpack which she wears off her left shoulder.

Family: Melody lives with hermother and older sister. Her mother makes a living working as a nurse within Cherrygrove's Pokecenter. Her older twin sister, Emily, decided not to embrace the life of a Pokemon trainer. Rather, she decided to finish schooling and then study to become a teacher herself. Melody's father, Cliff, used to live with the family as well. However, since her father is a Pokemon trainer himself. The man had began his career as a trainer at the age of 15 years old, much like Melody is now. However, he rarely stops by home, which leaves a noticable void in the family's lives. The family makes its home in a quaint, little house close by the Pokemon Center where Melody's mother works.

Rival: Melody considers her father to be her rival. Always hearing stories from both her mother and her sister about his talents and adventures, Melody has found herself realizing that her pining for a Pokemon journey of her own stems from those stories she heard growing up as a child. She has accompanied her family to see some of his battles. He has even ventured to Indego Plateau on numerous occasions to take on the Elite 4 challenge. While Cliff has never actually managed to battle and win against the Champion, he has won various awards and tournaments within the Johto region. This has made him fairly well-known in the region. Melody has always felt a slight anger at her father's way of living. While she has no disrespect for the man's life as a trainer, she feels that Cliff has essentially abandoned his family, letting his fame and reputation.

Goals and Interests: Melody has always dreamed about embarking on a Pokemon journey of her own. Facing trainers in epic battles, meeting and forming an unstoppable team of Pokemon, traveling across Johto and seeing all the region has to offer... The girl wants to experience it all. As she grew up, Melody began to find another desire building into her dreams of a career as a trainer: finding and confronting her father. The girl feels that she would only be a successful trainer if she is able to meet her father and defeat him properly in a Pokemon battle. Because of this, she has made it her goal to surpass him in skill and while keeping her family close, instead of abandoning them as he did.

Strengths: A generally positive thinker with energy to spare. Melody is one to approach every challenge with a smile and a will to never give up, no matter how difficult it may seem. Melody is generally a very friendly girl, always willing to greet everyone with a smile and lend an ear to anyone who may need it. A tomboy by nature, Melody always spent a good deal of time outside playing games like baseball instead of playing with dolls and the like. Because of this, she prides herself on being tough and a bit stronger than most girls her age.

Weaknesses: Because of her hyper active tendancies, Melody often has a hard time managing to keep quiet and still at points. This has been a problem for her as long as she can remember, often getting her into trouble when she was in school for not being able to keep still during class. She also has a habit to start rambling away while talking, letting her imagination get the best of her as she lets the endless possibilities of something run through her mind. Always one to be a bit on the clumsy side, sneaking about is not her strong suit by any means. Melody is absolutely terrified of heights.

Roleplay Sample:
Spoiler:
Melody tossed and turned in the bed. Sleep was not coming easy to the girl, and for good reason too. After all, one did not set out to begin their career as a Pokemon trainer everyday. The teenager had been anxiously awaiting this day for years. Needless to say, Melody was more excited than a Aipom in a forest of banana trees.

"Hey... Hey, Melody?" a girl's voice called out, gaining the attention of the girl. "Mel, are you still awake?"

Recognizing the voice of her twin sister, Emily, Melody glanced up from her bottom bunk and spotted her sister, just as awake as she was. A knowing smile was stretched across the older twin's face as she slowly sat up in her bed and looked down at Melody. A small giggle escaped Emily's lips as she watched Melody flop back onto the matress of her bed.

"That obvious, huh?" Melody asked.

"Well, I had a sneaking suspicion after you started knocking on the walls while singing," Emily replied. "What's got you so wired?"

"Well..." Melody began. She paused for a moment, sitting back up with a sigh. Melody watched as Emily crawled towards the ladder of the bunk beds and then climbed down, taking a seat beside her younger sister. The two girls looked very much like each other, save for the fact that Emily was a good six inches taller than Melody was, something which irked the girl to no end. "I guess you could say I got those pre-journey jitters, you know?"

"I guess that's understa-" Emily began to reply, only for Melody to keep talking over her.

"I mean, I've been waiting for this day for like, ever, you know? And now of all a sudden it's right in front of me? I mean, what if I fail? What if I'm no good and my Pokemon runs away?" Melody rambled.

"Melody, I think you're being just a bit of a wor-"

"What if I get lost and stranded in some forest with days with nothing but the clothes on my back and I end up going totally bonkers and eat my shoes to survive, turning into one of those bearded nutjobs like you see in this doofy cartoons that talk in garbled nonsense, but somehow offer sagely advice that the main character always somehow manages to understand even though there's no way anyone should ever be able to understand anything the nut's saying a-"

"Melody!" Emily called out, snapping her fingers in front of Melody's face to get the younger sibling's attention.

A small nervous giggle escaped Melody's lips as she rubbed the back of her head. "Was I... doing it again?"

"Just a bit," Emily replied, putting her hand on the girl's shoulder. She gave Melody a warm smile and sighed. "I know that you're a bit... well, really nervous. But you just need to relax. Getting all worked up isn't going to do anything, but make it impossible for you to set off on the right foot."

"I guess you're right..." Melody sighed.

"Of course I am!" Emily giggled. "Now look, Mel... You're gonna do great! You're gonna set off tomorrow morning and totally kick butt just like you always said you were going to!"

Melody smiled as she nodded at her sister. She was right. It was just a case of some nervous jitters that was keeping her awake. The younger twin gave her sister a hug before Emily began to climb back up to her bunk to get some sleep. Seeing her younger sister relaxed and happy again made Emily feel better... And now that she was settled, the girl would be able to finally catch some sleep. Laying back down, Emily closed her eyes and nestled back under her blankets... just in time to hear Melody start knocking on the wall again.

"Tomorrow morning can't come fast enough..." Emily and Melody sighed at the same time.

Name: Garison Silvermach (now you know where my name came from).
Age: 15
Gender: Male

Appearance: Garrison has brown hair with some golden yellow strands of hair that was dyed, fair skin, dark brown eyes and a few freckles, though they are not very noticable at first glance. When standing up straight he is 5' 9" and his physical build is slighlty larger than the average teen, but bulky would not be an accurate discription. He wears a read T-shirt, dark blue pants, red shoes, a brown backpack, and a watch on his left wrist on his travels, though it can occasionally vary depending on what activity he is participating in.

Family: The Silvermach family lived on a farm. His Father also worked as a pokemon doctor, and his mother worked at a Pokemon Daycare. He was looked after as much as any child should, but he was far from spoiled; at nine years old he worked just as his parents did. His household had many rules, and this gives the family a rather black and white view on morality and how people should behave. His simbling is a younger twin sister who is interested in competing in the Pokemon Leauge.

Goals and interests: Ever since getting into Pokemon, Garrison has wanted to be a Pokemon Ranger, and also likes the idea of being a private investigater. This was fuelwd by the fact that he is unable to stand seeing anything done wrong, regardless if it as serious as a friend being bullied, or as trivial as someone standing in a fountain with a no wading sign. While he also wishes to be able to be a pokemon champion, he finds this as an unachievable dream, and simply keeps himself content with daydreaming about it.

Outside pokemon, Garrison likes to enjoy a nice board game (Though he tends to play with his Dad's intellegent pokemon if he can't find any other canidates). He was at one point into Karate, but upon learning about there being several degrees of brown belts after earning a second degree one, he quits in exasperation over it.

Strengths: Garrison is quite intellegent and a fast learner. He is able to reasonably connect concepts to each other with relative ease and almost has a photoscopic memory. He is able to make friends pretty easily, and is not really quick to find fault in other people, unless its clearly obvious. For the most part, Garrison tends to behave rather maturely around other people, and is not really one to do anything that will make him look like an idiot, and is somewhat self-conscious as a result however. He is also not the type to hold a grudge for anything, and if he is asked for forgiveness, he willact as if though he never had any trouble before.

Weaknesses: Garrison has a fear of seeing death in anyone he knows, and can be a bit overprotective as a result, which others tend to find more annoying tan helpful (Including his own pokemon.) Garrison is also not good at detecting how people feel about something he is doing except when he wants to, and he can sometimes take his honesty a little too far. As mentioned above, Garrison is quite self conscious about how other people view him, and is not fond of getting teased or made fun of, though he probally won't show this outwardly. He is also known to have mood swings, which can make it difficult to tell him if he is doing something that is not being looked on very well, as it could push him into a rather negative mood very quickly and easily. Garrison is also not really on the creative side, and this is shown by the fact that he tends not to give his Pokemon nicknames. He is also unable to swim.

Pokémon:

Arcanine
Spoiler:

Gender: Male
Personality:Arcanine was at first the family pet before Garrison was given permission to train it for battles. Arcanine mirrors Garrison's over protectivness, only ten times multiplied. Once, It went as far as to prevent Garrison from leaving the house to go to school after he got stung the day before (and he missees school by a longshot as a result.) Arcanine is a strong fighter, and is as hot tempered as any fire type can get, and only his trainer can deal with him.

Eevee
Spoiler:

Gender: Male
Personality: Eevee is a bit shy and timid, and is rarely the first to head into danger unless told to. It prefers to be as close to as Garrison as possible, especially around strangers, but he would not hesitate to help out a friend who is in need. It was caught by Garrison when he found it stealing food from Garrison's picnic.

Roleplay sample: Inside the hotel, a young fifteen year old boy was sleeping in the bed. That was until the alarm sounded. Exaspirated, the boy simply turns off the alarm, hoping to get more sleep, as he was tired from his pokemon training that went on until midnight yesturday. Seeing as he clearly did not want to get up, Arcanine opted to wake up its trainer by rolling him off the bed.

"Yeooooww!!" Yelled Garrison, as his tail bone landed on his backpack. "That is the last time at let you sleep out of your ball for a long time." Arcanine wimpered of dissapointence. "Well since you knocked all the drowsiness out of me, I better get dressed now."

After five minutes, the young teenager was dressed in his usually set of clothes: he wore a pair of red and white shoes on his feet, and a crimson t shirt with a small icon f a Poke ball at the back of it, not that the boy's backpack would allow it to be seen.

"Alright Arcanine, stay here while I go get some breakfest down stairs ok, and don't break anything, please."
Arcanine grunted as if to say, "OK Garrison" which was the trainer's name after all. Garrison went down to the first floor through the elevator, and down to the kitchen to find something to eat. Hopefully they had his favorite kind of oatmeal, though he usually could not find it in hotels. Typical of city life, doesn't have anything from the country.

Fifteen minutes later, in the hotel room, Garrison returns to find a sleeping Fire type on his bed. Well, mabye I should have some pay-back time Garrison then attempts to roll his Arcanine off the bed as it did to him earlier. But the attempt proved to be in vain. Honestly, he had no idea what he was thinking at the time, so he opts to take Arcanine off the bed the old fashion way: all he needed was the giant dog's pokeball. Garrison pulled out a white and red sphere from his pocket, and threw it at Arcanine as if it was a baseball. The ball hits the pokemon, opening up, and zapping Arcanine into its interior.

"That's what I call using Revenge" Garrison said to himself. "But I am not going to let him starve in there." Garrison throws the Poke Ball in front of a bowl of pokemon food, and Arcanine comes out the same way he came in, only instead of a sleeping face, he came out with a slight scowl.

"Hey, don't give me that look," Garrison said. "Ever heard of eye for an eye? Or do you want me to take your food next?"

Arcanine looked at Garrison's bowl with a sly look on its face, as if it was threatening to take Garrison's food if he took his.
"Oh, I get it, your very funny." said Garrison sarcasticly, realizing the pokemon was alluding to his previous statment of revenge. Garrison then preceeded to sit on the table to eat as Arcanine ate its Pokemon food.

Saving up a spot here! (Will edit post when I'm done)

Prepare, mortals, for the ULTIMATE RYAN >:D

EDIT: DONE!

Rio Blanco
14 | Male | Not Ryan

Family: Before talking about Rio's family, a little history should be told about his ancestors first. The Blanco family originates from a far-off region, much hotter and more humid than the mild-weathered Johto. Alberto Blanco, Rio's great-grandfather, was the first to settle in Goldenrod city with his wife and five children. Being a young, talented entrepreneur in a still-developing city, Alberto seized the opportunity and started a small day-care center for the inhabitants of the city. The center also operated as a kind of grocery shop where Pokémon goods such as eggs, Moomoo milk, herbs and berries were sold. Over the years, as the shop grew in size and in profit, Alberto began bringing in more of his family - and their skills along with them. Realizing how fertile the Johto market was, the Blanco family soon began opening shops providing goods and services all across the region - from breeders to tailors (for both people and Pokémon) to craftsmen, the incredibly large family had spread all across Johto, which each generation becoming apprentices of the previous one's trade.

Fast-forward to the current Blanco family; where Rio lives with his parents, grandmother and 3 younger sisters - all of them being triplets. His father, Alberto Jr. the Third, works as a mechanic and handyman in Azlea town while his mother, Maria, works as a tutor in Pokéball Mechanics in private classes. Hi sisters - Rayne, Raine and Ryanne - are nine and attend the local school. To date, nobody from the Blanco family has ever set off on a journey.

Goals and interests: In terms of interests, Rio is a great fan of mechanics and robotics - having learned most about the two from his father and mother. He enjoys tinkering with devices he doesn't know about to discover how they work, and is often found recreating a certain device into another (a remote controller into a morse code machine, for example). One of his biggest role models and inspirations is one of Kalos' Gym Leaders Clemont.

Just like the rest of his family, Rio started becoming an apprentice of his father's at a young age. He frequently visited the family day care - which is where he received his first Pokemon, an oddish, add the age of ten. For four years, the pair were a great team, and Rio often volunteered to help as an acolyte of Bugsy's gym at times. While he partly enjoys the current stable and routine life he is currently leading, he secretly wishes for one thing - to leave Azlea town and become the gym leader of the very city his great-grandfather first arrived in.

Strengths: Rio is a skilled craftsman, mechanic, tinkerer, robotics designer, Pokeball architect, watchmaker, electronics expert... as much as a fourteen-year-old can be. Most of what he has learned has been though school, his parents or experimentation - one of which almost burned his hand (and all of Bret's leaves) right off. With a great sense of curiosity and a love for the unknown and the unexplained, Rio is often the first to step in and take initiative in situations - though his charisma with words may be a little... lacking. However, he is not an introvert and happily enjoys debating and discussing strategies with other fellow trainers. Physically, he is durable (though not heavily muscled) thanks to his many days spent in his father's garage.

Weaknesses: Despite his intelligence in the fields of physics, mechanics and robotics, Rio's knowledge and interest in other domains is below average. Not one for the written or visual arts, he is not a great fan of fictional books or shows. He is terrible at Pokemon Science, too - spare a few such as Porygon or the legendary Genesect. Rio is also a terrible partner in team battles - often completely forgetting the existence of his partner(s) and blindly following his own strategies most of the time.

Pokémon:

Species: Oddish
Gender: Male
Nickname: Bret (which was also his previous nickname)
Ability: Chlorophyll

Bret is an extremely enthusiastic oddish. Too bouncy and hyperactive for Rio, he often causes chaos and havoc whenever he goes. Reported to have accidentally killed his previous owner with a lethal cloud of poison gas. He has been with Rio for four years.

Species: Mothim
Gender: Male
Ability: Swarm

Of adamant nature, he is quiet and often prioritizes nobility over safety. Given to Rio by a strange young trainer he encountered in the street. This Mothim is mute and cannot fly much due to an apparent problem with his wings. However he considers his handicap as a mere obstacle he can overcome.

Roleplay sample:

Sophia the foul-mouthed outlaw and Jeb the hardened bounty hunter from Gunpowder (JP with aeternum/sonata)

Nerites the oblivious water goddess from Titans

Are you accepting reservations? Because I am absolutely interested! (Please reserve me a spot if you are).

I'll edit this with a SU once I get it done, which should be soon tbh. There we go, I'll have a RP Sample soon.

Spoiler:

Name: Omi Keregende

Age: 13

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Omi is fairly short for his age, with thin bones and a lanky appearance. He has dark skin, the tone of milk chocolate with few dark freckles on his cheeks, but his eyes are of an eery amber color. He has a fairly small nose and almond-shaped eyes, and his hair is curly, black, long and matted. Omi tends to wear loose-fitting clothes, he is a fan of the Ilex Forretress, a local first division basketball team, and wears their light blue and hot pink jerseys proudly, but he was never actually good at that sport, or any really. As a matter of fact, Omi has a very fragile appearance, partly due to his asthma, myopia, and his unwillingness to really try to do anything more than a pacey walk as a means of exercise. The rest of his journeying outfit actually includes a pair of resistant, thick-rimmed glasses, a straw hat (essential for any self-respecting Bug Catcher), cargo shorts, travelling shoes, repels, and a can of Tropius Sweet Scent.

Family:

Omi lives in a large family estate in the forested northwestern outskirts of Azalea Town - a middle class suburb called Ilex Heights - along with his fairly large extended family. He grew up alongside his two sisters, and his three cousins, however Omi was always the oldest by quite a distance, and never really got to enjoy the same sort of close-knit relationships that his ‘siblings’ have with each other. However, when he was only four, before his sisters were born, Omi’s grandfather gave him a gift, the imprint of some sort of arthropod embedded in an ancient piece of amber; his grandfather explained that this was a mold fossil from Hoenn of an ancient Bug Pokémon, and it was then that Omi decided he would dedicate his Pokémon training years to Bug Pokémon themselves.

Goals and interests:

Omi is a self-titled Bug Maniac. He used to be the chairman of the Bug Catchers’ club in school, but quickly outgrew the thrill of catching Caterpies and Weedles, and set out on his path to become the greatest Bug Pokémon trainer in the world, and the quickest way to become the best is to train under the best. Thus, when most of Omi’s friends set out on their Pokémon trainer journeys, he stayed in Azalea Town in order to become a Gym trainer under Bugsy. Omi is extremely hard-working and whenever he’s not busy in the Gym he tends to go out to Ilex Forest in order to train his Pokémon and continue in his quest to capture every Bug Pokémon known to the League. He enjoys spending time by the Ilex Forest shrine, picking wild mushrooms, and from time to time, collecting apricorns for Kurt.

Strengths:

Omi is not only very hard-working, but he is also very smart and has a very deep empathy and understanding of the thought processes of Bug-type Pokémon. Despite being one of the youngest of Bugsy’s Gym trainers, Omi has already proven himself to be one of the heads of the pack, and has managed to capture very rare Pokémon not only through good luck, but by researching their migrational patterns, mating seasons, knowing where he’d be able to find them, and then being very patient and faithful in his conviction. Towards his parents, Omi is a respectful and diligent son, towards his sisters and cousins he is a protective older brother, and towards his friends he is a trustworthy confidant and comfortable companion.

Weaknesses:

In terms of weaknesses, Omi can be said to have two glaring ones. Firstly, his physical weakness, Omi has asthma, he’s nearsighted, he has very little muscle mass, is very short, and just has an awful sense of balance. In terms of journeying, he’d have a hard time going over obstacles such as climbing atop Mt. Pyre, or closer to home, to the Indigo Plateau; even in Ilex Forest, he has issues reaching tall berry trees, and would never even consider climbing a tree despite the fact that it is accepted by most trainers that this is a very useful skill to have. His second greatest weakness is something that can be coupled with some of his strengths: his shyness (bordering on antisocial behavior). Being a very quiet individual, Omi can come off as trustworthy or respectful, but at the same time, it is a bane, since he has a hard time acquiring friends.

Pokémon:

Pinsir - Achilles

Completely set on his ways once he makes up his mind, Achilles is an amazing fighter, but he tends to be too bullheaded at times, and has lost some fights simply because he refused to take a more cerebral approach in his attacks to the dismay of his trainer. Achilles isn’t very mischievous, instead emulating his trainers’ quiet nature, but he can be malicious towards those he doesn’t like.

Heracross - Hercules

Jovial, cheerful, and extremely pleasant, Hercules is a strong and quick fighter, but is also a team player and a great cheerleader. He tends towards mischief more often than Achilles, but tends to do so in a lighthearted manner, so as to become the center of attention, or in an attempt to reduce tension, unlike Achilles. Hercules is also very good with, and nice towards, children.

Omi Keregende

Location: Azalea Town
____________________________________________________

Chapter 8: Rendezvous!
____________________________________________________

The Kerende family estate was a collection of several studio-sized rooms conjoined and built around a central garden, the main living room, of course, was located where the front door was and adjacent to Grandpa Keregende’s room, whereas Omi’s room was on the other side of the building, overlooking the large forested area that was also property of the family. Thus, Omi’s bewilderment when, after climbing out of his window in the middle of the night, he ran into the person he least expected to see: “Oh… hi grandpa.”

The wrinkled, bald man’s face was set like stone. “Back in the house Omi, now.” He commanded sternly.

Omi gulped. How did his grandpa find out? Not even he was supposed to know what was going on tonight, but you hear things when you work at the Gym, after all. Bugsy’s rebellion; his retribution, was finally in its conception, and he wanted to be part of it when it came down to it; Slowpoke Well, he needed to be there.

“Sorry grandpa, I can’t do that.” He said genuinely. “Please let me through, I won’t be too long.”

His grandpa didn’t move however, not even his expression changed. He simply continued to stare at his grandson impassively, his command not changing.

Several minutes passed, and the first to grow impatient was Omi. He reached for one of his Poké Balls by instinct and once again, ‘kindly’ asked his grandfather to get out of his way. His grandfather, on the other hand, shrugged. This was the first movement or show of any sort of emotion he’d had, and he asked his grandson, “what will you do if I don’t?”

Achilles was out in an instant.

“You don’t understand what’s going on grandpa, I need to go to Slowpoke Well. Kurt and Bugsy and everyone else need my help.”

His grandfather smiled a sad smile, and throwing a Level Ball forward from which emerged a large, majestic Volcarona, he stated the one thing Omi didn’t want to listen to: “No, they don’t.”

“How could you possibly know!” he screamed in a sudden, pubescent rage. “Achilles, use your Vice Grip!”

It wouldn’t be until much later that Omi would see his mistake, but it was a lesson well-learned: never attack a Pokémon you’ve never seen before, and whose abilities you don’t know. A single Overheat by Volcarona managed to burn and almost incapacitate Achilles before the Stag Beetle Pokémon could even come close enough to lay his pincers on his opponent.

Omi slumped, defeated. Attempting to fight this thing with Hercules wouldn’t change a thing, and going to the Slowpoke Well with two injured Pokémon just wouldn’t make sense, he’d be no use to anyone; no, he’d be no use to anyone anyways, even if his Pokémon were healthy. His grandfather was right, after all, and he needed to train even harder if he hoped to become part of the resistance against Team Rocket.

Tears streamed down his cheeks as his glasses fogged from his labored breathing. “Come now,” his grandpa said in a tender tone. “Let’s go have some tea, and then to bed you go.”

@Geras I don't think the speed is going to be overwhelming. At first, probably a decent speed, but expect it to wittle down a bit as the 'starting rush' goes over. You should ALSO expect alot of JP'ing, considering this is all about interactions and doing events together.

@Drunk I think you just gotta throw up your SU as soon as you've got it ready.

Thérèse Meré Versteche

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Terry's looks strike a strange balance between gentle and rough. She stands at an above-average 5'10, with fair skin and icy-blue eyes. She has a very strong chin and brow for a girl, as well as a slightly upturned nose and thin lips, finishing up a decent looking face. She has a bit of noticeable muscle tone thanks to all of her recent work, but not enough to impress anyone with the least bit of a discerning eye. She also has pretty broad shoulders and big hands for an otherwise-lithe frame. An odd recessive gene of her family that skipped several generations seems to have awakened in Terry, giving her silvery white hair. Her straight hair goes to her shoulder blades on the back and sides, and as low as her cheeks at the bangs, but she usually keeps it all tied into a neat pony-tail.

Terry is often found wearing a plain, red, long-sleeved shirt with a white collar and no designs up top. Lower down she is almost constantly seen in loose-fitting, sea green pants and black-and-white tennis-shoes. Whenever she's "at home" or out alone in the forest she replaces her shirt with a pitch-black hybrid of a karategi and a judogi.

Family: Terry was lucky enough to be blessed with loving parents that have the saint-like patience it took to deal with her as a child. Her father Gerald even managed to make time for family bonding despite how busy his career as one of Johto's top chemists was. When they failed to have another child it became a running joke that all the messing around with various compounds had damaged Gerald's virility...and resulted in Terry's unique hair color. Of course most people who knew the family would argue that Terry's mother Sharon had it way harder, having to be a homemaker with a troublemaker of her son's caliber. All in all it was a pretty picturesque family life, Terry herself was the only serious flaw in it all. But ever since she got herself under control she's been closer to her parents than ever.

Goals and interests: There isn't really all that much Terry wants out of life. Sure, she hopes to be the pokémon champion one day, but that's just the final step of a loved hobby. In her spare time Terry likes to practice various bits of martial arts, she uses them as a form of meditation to keep herself in check. Recently Terry's main driving force recently is a desire to keep her home-region safe, a desire that blazed up from outrage at what he'd heard about Team Rocket's actions.

Strengths: Terry can be really charming and charismatic when she's in a good enough mood or she's genuinely trying, if only she didn't seem to be so against trying. Since realizing her faults she's become very determined to eternally better herself, swearing never to give up on herself. Terry is also fairly strong and acrobatic thanks to all of her self-training and the manual labor she's done, especially since she arrived in Azalea. She's also hard to get to emotionally, almost never offended by anything she hears, unless it's from someone she has a lot of respect or affection for. She also has a fairly good mind for tactics, which helps her out quite a bit with battling.

Weaknesses: Even though she's rather polite now, Terry still hasn't conquered her negative side yet. For the most part she's merely managed to turn her sour feelings inward, leading to what seems like a low self-esteem. However, she still can't handle certain insults to her intellect, or anything that sounds like she's being called a coward. She very rarely accepts compliments as true, though he'll express thanks for them, and has a hard time realizing when what she's done is good enough and it's time to stop leading to her being very bullheaded once she starts something. She also considers herself a loner and tends to push other people away when they don't manage to bring out her good side, more than willing to sit by herself day in and day out this can lead to her being quite abrasive when there's no reason to be. Terry happens to have a strong phobia of sharp tools, especially knives. Even being near one is enough to make her nervous, but she completely freezes up if she touches one. Despite practicing what little she knows of martial arts Terry is by no means a fighter, she knows very little about fighting another person, and does her best to avoid it at all costs.

Pokémon:

Romanov, Male Munchlax

Terry's style of training, her determination, and her personality have made for a surprisingly hard-working and driven Munchlax. Romanov has even managed to maintain a...certain amount of control over his hunger.

Cascade, Female Squirtle

Cascade is far more bubbly than any of her attacks could hope to be, happily scampering about and trying to make friends with everyone she meets. She's one of the few beings that make Terry feel good about herself since she's the only person the Squirtle is even more loving towards than normal.

Sanse, Male Riolu

Sanse can be an absolute nightmare to deal with. He's rude, crude, and always wants to pick fights with everyone he feels is tough enough to respond, in fact it's how they met. Despite how much the little Riolu gets on her nerves Terry trains with Sanse more than either of her other partners, because she reminds her of herself, which instills in Terry the absolute necessity of whipping him into shape.

"Ever looking forward, ever thinking back. Everywhere you've been, everyone you've met was another step on your path, shaping your future even as they become part of your past. One must never discount the pieces that have made up your journey until now but to lose yourself in them would be equally great folly, instead let them hoist you up, carry you on until you find the strength to walk for yourself. So it is that I continue towards that endless horizon. Ever thinking back, ever marching forward, inexorable as the history that brought me down this road. This Lonesome Road."

hi
Welcome back Alby/Melody <33

I'll be back too. Just have to stop being lazy and edit in my SU to this post later.
Yes get your SU over here already, Pine trainer! Autoaccepted fosho.

Name: Garison Silvermach (now you know where my name came from)
Are all your characters named that, or what?

I'm holding off accepting you for a while. As always when GMs decide what players to include and not, it's not personal and you shouldn't feel bad. But I'm not quite convinced that you are a good fit for this particular RP. Feel free to expand on your SU a bit and make it even better if you want a better chance!

I might join up for act II

Not totally sure yet xD
Of course you should. Get a SU up already c:

Saving up a spot here! (Will edit post when I'm done)

Prepare, mortals, for the ULTIMATE RYAN >:D
oh god no, you are instabanned from this RP

(jk bring it bro)

I'm gonna go ahead and express interest. Though I do have to ask, what's the speed of the RP? Or more precisely, is being able to post only around once a week going to cut it?
It's generally quite slow. When we get new chapters up, we can get a couple of posts a week but other times less than that. ALthough, it has a lot to do with almost all posts being JPs! You don't often write alone, and as such the speed of which the JP is created at varies depending on how busy people are (or forgetful etc).

Are you accepting reservations? Because I am absolutely interested! (Please reserve me a spot if you are).

I'll edit this with a SU once I get it done, which should be soon tbh. There we go, I'll have a RP Sample soon.

This SU looks very very interesting. And it would be nice to RP with you again, as long as you are sure that you are in it for the long run ;) I guess we'll wait for a RP sample for formality's sake :3

Welcome back Alby/Melody <33

Are all your characters named that, or what?

I'm holding off accepting you for a while. As always when GMs decide what players to include and not, it's not personal and you shouldn't feel bad. But I'm not quite convinced that you are a good fit for this particular RP. Feel free to expand on your SU a bit and make it even better if you want a better chance!
No, It is just the name of my Pokemon character.

I will try expanding it now.
You can fly if you try

As long as you have a greened haired women sticking her nose in your adventures. :p

Name: Vincent Baker
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Current team: Frogadier, Pidgeotto, Honedge, Beldum, Magikarp, Eevee

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Family: Ha! Family! That’s a good joke. Vincent likes to pretend he doesn’t have one, having so many falling outs with them. When he did have a home, it was all the way back in Goldenrod City, where he lived in the slums and ran with the wrong crew for far too long. His father was always gone “on business trips” but he usually came back with little to no money. His mother had to slave away in the department store making less than minimum wage, leaving Vincent with his little brother and sister. This forced Vincent to grow up fast and he has risen to the occasion for the most part. However, as he grew older, he became more and more spiteful towards the whole idea of babysitting and nothing doing what he wanted to do, eventually running off on his own, leaving his family in the dust. This caused him to run with local gangs and got in all sorts of trouble before bouncing from Goldenrod completely and wandering Johto aimlessly. And now he’s here. A loner.

Goals and interests: They are two sides to Vincent’s goals: What he wants you to think and what he actually wants to do. He wants people to think that he has no goals, being the living personification of simply living. No purpose, completely guided by his whims and nothing more. And truthfully, that is partially true. Vincent’s immediate goals are completely guided by his impulses and desire for adventure and freedom. No parents. No responsibilities. No nothing to get in his way. However, being completely honest: Vincent wants to make something of himself. In particular, he wants to be something for his baby brother and sister to look up to. Because, really, his parents aren’t exactly role models. Even if they are “trying” to be parents, Vincent believes they need someone otherworldly to really motivate them to work hard. This makes his whole journey motivated by selfless desires. But he would never admit that outright.

This being said, Vincent isn’t much of one either. As eluded to it earlier, Vincent is an admirer of adventure. However, Vincent’s version of adventure often involves pushing the limits, particularly of the law as he does anything for a good thrill. Messing with local law enforcement, pulling pranks, skateboarding in illegal places and street art are just a few examples of what Vincent does to get the blood flowing. When he isn’t breaking the law for kicks, Vincent enjoys being in nature, finding a recent love in the environment, loving the idea of the sky, mountains and the stars. Occasional naps are enjoyable, as is doodling in his little art book that he carries around in his bag of stuff. In his quietest moments, Vincent loves to create art and stories, something he always did for his siblings before he put them to bed. It’s an old habit.

Rival: Does law enforcement count as a rival? Because hohoho…Vincent has a number of police officers who do not like him.

Truthfully, Vincent has a lot of enemies. His biggest enemy would be, at least at this point, his father. After bumping into him recently, Vincent’s loathing for his father has been reignited to a strange mix of a lack of child rearing on his head, a lack of respect for authority in general and a staunch fear that he will become just like him.

Strengths: Vincent’s greatest strength is his resourcefulness. Having been forced to grow up a bit earlier than everyone else around his age, he has become independent and self-sufficient. This has made him very adaptable, and he quickly adjusts to new situations. He can think on his feet quite well, having years of experience having to do to outrun any number of situations. His constant successes have given him an air of confidence, and he is more than willing to leap into situations firmly believing he will walk away gaining any sort of victory that he was aiming for. Vincent is very dedicated to whatever whims or goals he develops, and will fight the good fight to accomplish whatever he wants. He can think outside the box and is literally willing to do whatever he needs to do to seize his dreams. He’s an opportunist, valiantly fighting for his beliefs…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Weaknesses: Vincent isn’t very likable. He’s self-reliance comes from his lack of trust in people and aside from a select few, he vehemently refuses to open up to anyone, preferring to keep them at a distance with insults and taunts. His distrust of people tends to be quite crippling, and he is very slow to make friends. In fact, his morality towards people is so bad that he has tendency to betray people flat out. His self confidence has also been inflated by his frequent successes to the point of blind arrogance. He refuses to admit his faults, ever. In fact, his arrogance blinds him to any failures, being senselessly reckless. He is more likely to dive head first into a problem rather than think it out, being the definition of careless. Crusading for his dreams has made him stubborn and willing to fight dirty in order to snatch the successes he is so enamored with. He’s cold steel, never willing to break…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Roleplay sample: You already know how I RP. But I'll throw down some links from One Piece: The Golden Age. It's all JPs haha. Here's one with good old Alby. WHO HAPPENS TO BE IN THIS RP.

I posted the RP Sample, by the way, guess I could re-post the SU here for visibility's sake.

EDIT: Here we go!

Spoiler:

Name: Omi Keregende

Age: 14

Name: Blaine Debour
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Current team:
Spoiler:
Derpy
Legious
Brutus
Psyduck
Unown

Appearance:
Spoiler:

Blaine wears a pair of black sweats since he tends to find sweats far more comfortable than jeans. He doesn't care much about how his shoes look, only about if they are in good enough shape so that the sole doesn't fall off anytime soon. For the moment he wears a pair of worn out blue sneakers, but despite their worn out state they are still capable of getting him where he needs to go. His pack consists of a camper's pack that his father bought for him before he left that has multiple pockets and zippers to store things on his journey.

Family: Blaine lives with his father and mother in their one story house in Vermillion City. His father works as a mechanic and is one of the many mechanics that keeps the cities power grid functioning normally. Although he has done all that he can to make Blaine into a mechanic the boy, who doesn't really want to become one, just smiles on and works to help his dad off. His mother works in a pokemon center as a standby nurse. Although both are gone for long times from the house it really doesn't bother Blaine. If he's not at school he'll just turn on his computer and talk to online friends.

Goals and interests: His main goal is to find something he loves and be successful with it. So far all that he has tried are small jobs that he doesn't particularly care for so he figures that by at least trying to be a trainer will help him mark another job off of his list if he doesn't care for it. If he ends up enjoying being a trainer, then he would find out just what he would want to do for the rest of his life. He is mostly interested in chatting with his online friends and enjoys spending time on forums since it is far easier to initiate conversations there than in the outside world. Whenever he is off of his computer he usually will go to art exhibits… and that's about it. Despite the few friends he has wanting him to go out and try other things, he finds himself far more comfortable with doing activities that he already has experience with.

Strengths: Blaine considers himself a loner at heart and has managed to accomplish many things on his own. Due to staying isolated from classmates he has adopted a mindset where he can solve problems and think outside of the box on his own. Due to this very nature he finds it rather easy to make friends with other loners. Not only that, but since he has little friends he often finds that he has the time to do whatever he wants and can remain focused on the tasks at hand. Blaine doesn't wear his emotions for any to see, instead he keeps a lot of his emotions boxed in. Despite his attitude of not wanting to connect to others he also doesn't wish to cause anyone, especially his parents, to worry about him and so over the years he has perfected the art of hiding any pain he feels deep inside of his mind.

Weaknesses: Due to an incident several years ago Blaine has a uncontrollable fear of heights. Even so much as climbing up a ladder will cause Blaine to shudder, sometimes he even throws up in such situations. Funny enough, despite his intended isolation from others he truly fears being alone. Not the kind of alone where he knows when he enters a town there will be people all around him, but the kind where no other people exist and he TRULY is alone. Due to his isolation he lacks a lot of social skills mainly those that require him to feel the right emotion at the right time. He knows when to laugh sure, but whenever he has to feel pity or sadness for another he isn't sure if the circumstances are right for such an emotion or if he is showing too much emotion at such a time. He also has no idea as to how to care for a pokemon, though he is trying to learn just to see if being a trainer is really the right path for him.

Roleplay sample:
Spoiler:
Penance waited for the attacks to cause some sort of damage, but none came. He began to think deeply and formed his hands into fists. Of course, he was a legendary. 'Weakness' to him meant just a shield that protected him from harm. Of course he would shrug off anything normal mon would throw at him. If anything, only a legendary at this point could take him down. The question was, now that Darkrai was out here in the open, would any legendaries come? Surely they could have been blindsided by the silver crystal and simply not have realized that Darkrai was still around, but now since he was in the open it would not only be easy to feel his life force, but also it would be easy to see him. Penance could only hope that at least some legendaries would feel this and would come to try and combat him as well. He knew of one that would no doubt feel this dark presence... but if that was the case why hadn't she come earlier? He couldn't dwell on possibilities right now though. Either a legendary came or one didn't. He had to prepare for the worst case scenario, and that was a scenario based around the simple fact that they were against a god and probably anything they threw at him would barely scratch him. Still, they had to try.

"Hanso! No dark attacks!" Penance snapped, "They'll rejuvenate him no doubt! Stick to healing and porting everyone around!" He looked back at the dark being, trying think of what he would do. Well, for one, he had been building up power for quite some time. Being a god as well, he could just look away from them and cause their hearts to stop or such like that. When he did announce his attack Penance just frowned, "Not good." He muttered to himself.

He spoke out loud to the others, "Alright, no mental connections at all! The Chaos could infest us all if we connect our minds leading to an instant defeat! Psychics, he's dark type no doubt so avoid all psychic attacks. Scar, Gen! Keep a steady perimeter. HOPEFULLY since you two dealt with this you can fight against any illusions that start to settle in your mind. Do not focus on those that get turned! If you do any attacks aim them right at Darkrai, do you hear me!? No one falls asleep! Spread out and use ranged attacks! He's a god though... so since he isn't reacting to our attacks I'm afraid they won't have much effect, in essence don't do those status moves anymore! Go straight out and use damage dealing moves only! If you have moves that exhaust you, pump them out as fast as you can!"

He readied a Water Pulse in both hands and tossed his two balls at the creature of darkness. "Don't let up at any time! We take Darkrai down foremost! Don't worry about the others unless you have healing moves! I want to see some action and don't any of you f**king fall asleep on me!" He shouted out yet again.

He looked up at the legendary and snorted, "You think you can beat us... think you can take our free will away? You have another thing coming." He readied another Water Pulse, "Circle formation! Just blast him to oblivion!"

I'll just be leaving this here, it's done.

Name: Lucy Phear
Age: 15
Gender: Female

Appearance:

Spoiler:

Despite her lack of social depth and general awkwardness, Lucy has always been rather feminine. She has auburn hair that she wears in a seemingly permanent ponytail, is somewhat pale, and stands at exactly 5'4" and weighs 116 lbs despite seeming rather then. She is rather fit and slender, she attributes this to a lot of running during her workouts and it shows in how toned her legs are. Her standard attire seems to be a red scarf, a light orange sweater, a red plaid skirt, black leggings, black shoes, and her red headphones that seem to always be a consistent in her outfit. Her most striking feature is her red eyes, apparently caused by a slight mutation in the alleles for eye color. She attributes her good eyesight to this. If one were to check, her hands are starting to form slight callouses due to her practicing how to rock climb recently.

Family: Lucy lives with her eccentric aunt in Azalea town. She is not originally from Johto however, and is an Unova native. Lucy's family situation was never the best, her parents seemingly neglecting her for her elder brother. Her elder brother had been, at least while she was younger, a sort of rising star in the Poke-Cinema business. He was charismatic and knew how to project himself well on the stage, at least that was what Lucy's parents told her. Her parents at first tried to maintain a balance between her and him, but it was obvious as time passed that a rift was growing. Even when she had decided to try her hand at being a Pokemon trainer, with her aunt's insistence that'd be better than nothing, she didn't really register in her parent's eyes for more than a short while. With her parent's reluctant permission she decided to move in with her aunt for awhile, she liked her better than her parents if she was honest, to try and become a better trainer and for some sort of peace. Besides that, Lucy's aunt is so clumsy and childish at times that she feels as if she's the adult in the house. Her aunt is named Louize and has a Sylveon that's been with her since she was a child.

Goals and interests: Lucy has lived a rather empty life so far, with her few bright spots being dulled out by the overwhelming grey in her life. She doesn't have many friends and is introvert to the core; her Pokemon and aunt really being the only ones she considers her friends. Due to these circumstances, Lucy wants to do something that her brother was never good at, so that maybe one day, she could get the same sort of recognition that her parents gave him. This led her to Pokemon battling, which she was good at, but it didn't help. Her brother still looked down on her and her parents could barely get enough time to interact with her. Lucy's aunt had told her that maybe she should look for what makes her happy, instead of trying to aim towards pleasing others she should find what she likes. As of now, she still doesn't know exactly what she wants, but she's decided that she'll do whatever it takes to find out what it is that she wants to do. A secondary goal of hers is to simply become a well-known trainer; she still holds a vague hope that her parents would acknowledge her. Her hobbies include listening to music and drawing, both things that her aunt does a lot of.

Strengths: Lucy has always been very analytical person, and could be called something of a genius if she actually applies herself. She can assess even the most strenuous of situations while remaining calm and generally is able to solve mysteries easier than others, perhaps because she's sort of become numb emotionally. She has a very strong sense of morality and despite her social awkwardness, Lucy likes to do good things for others and will actively go out of her way to help others if she can. The acknowledgment from others makes her feel good about herself. Louis, despite her slightly thin frame and pale skin, is surprisingly fit. Her aunt told her that a great Pokemon Trainer is mentally fit and just as physically fit, and she took that to heart and keeps to a strict regiment of working out at least 3 times a week. The newest addition to this regiment is rock climbing, though she only does this if in a suitable environment.

Weaknesses: Lucy is a very unmotivated person. Stemming from her always being in her brother's shadow nearly all her life, she can't find it in herself to really try her best at will. Most of the time she's content to just hang back and do nothing, even if the situation is unfair. It's ingrained into her core that she should accept how things are, and it'll be hard to change that. She tries to keep a positive outlook on things, but finds herself suffering from apathy. She's withdrawn around others and suffers from social awkwardness which makes her nearly mute around others unless directly asked a question or if she needs to absolutely speak. She has problems with understanding other people well, which stems from her apathy which can affect how she'd help someone in a negative way. The only thing that motivates her generally is her goal and her aunt.

Pokémon:

Braixen (f) - Lucy's, technically speaking, starter Pokemon. A gift from his aunt on her 14th birthday, she treasures Braixen as her partner and admittedly it is the Pokemon she is the closest too. It was for the good part of a year a Fennekin and only recently evolved while in Azalea town. When outside of battle Braixen likes to lounge about and is haughty to others whether they be Pokemon or Human. She doesn't exactly know how her aunt managed to get a Fennekin, she told her she knew a guy in the Kalos region, but she doesn't really care as getting Fennekin was one of the happiest moments of her life. Braixen has an odd habit of stealing her headphones or unplugging them while she's using them.

Ralts (f) - The second Pokemon she managed to catch. Ralts is rather shy around new people, but doesn't let this affect it in battle. When in large crowds Ralts either retreats back into it's Pokeball or hides behind Lucy's leg. Ralts always seems to get dragged around by Scraggy when it's training, but it doesn't particularly seem to mind much.

Scraggy (m) - The last Pokemon that she managed to acquire before she moved to the Johto region. Scraggy is energetic and always trains when Lucy has some down time, usually it trains by head butting trees. Lucy sometimes helps with Scraggy's training by doing a few some drills with it, but unlike her other Pokemon, she prefers to let Scraggy use its own training method. Scraggy tends to drag Ralts into its training sessions, but Ralts usually ends up just being their for support.

She has short, bleached-blonde hair that reaches down to about the base of her neck with rather long bangs that jut out around her forehead and the sides of her head. Janice's eyes are a piercing, emerald green in color. She sports a slender body build with a fair skin complexion. Janice has a scar on her left leg, which runs down from the thigh to the shin. The scar is a result of a childhood injury that causes the girl to walk with a slight limp. It is unknown what Janice's natural hair color is.

In terms of clothing, Janice has a rather punkish style that she follows. She tends to wear leather jackets and vests at almost all times, with steeled-toe or combat boots on her feet. Janice always wears jeans. It does not matter the temperature or the weather, the girl refuses to wear shorts or skirts. Whether or not this is just a quirk or if she does this to hide her scar, it is hard to say. She tends to wear a wristband or bracelet on her left wrist as well. Under her jacket or vest, Janice will usually wear tank tops or t-shirts. These usually have rather snide comments on them or are... less than appropriate for wear as they show off her form a bit too much at times, but like usual she just doesn't seem to care. Out of her outfits, the only two parts that never change are her choker and her wool cap.

Strengths: Janice is a very forward girl. She has no problem stating her views or opinion on a situation and is definitely not afraid to throw down should a battle or fight be required. She is brutally honest, finding liars to be nothing more than a waste of her time. Janice also sports sheer determination. It takes a lot for this girl to give up, and she's more than willing to approach a problem from any angle if it means she can get it done. If her Pokémon cannot get the job done, Janice is more than willing to use her own force, handicap or not.

Weaknesses: Of course, because of her determination... this means that Janice is not afraid to use less than honorable methods should they be required. She has had several run-ins with the law. In fact, the reason she was working at Bugsy's gym in the first place is on account of her parole requiring her to have a job for rehabilitation purposes. She can be rather brash with her choice of words and is quite quick to anger. Insults and rather tasteless nicknames are also abundant with her, should Janice feel the person fills the requirements. Janice has a huge weakness to cute things, something that she desperately tries to keep buried away from everyone.

Goals And Interests: Janice has dreams of hitting it big. She wants to be rich and famous, with her name known all over the regions of the world. This is not through taking on gyms and becoming the champion of the Johto region, however. Janice wants to make a spalsh in the music scene. Her rather unique goal is to put together the greatest rock band she can, herself as the lead and her Pokémon as the band. Of course, she knows that she'll need money to make her dream come true. So in order to pull this off, Janice lives the life of a trainer as a side job... only temporary. Probably.

Family: Janice used to live with her mother and father in Celadon City of the Kanto Region. She was always a rather rebellious child growing up, prone to constantly getting into trouble. Most of her school days were filled with afternoons of detention. That is, when she even bothered to go to school. More often than not, Janice spent her time ditching classes and hanging out with less than outstanding characters. This eventually led her to get into several run-ins with the law. Eventually, she found herself being shipped out to live with her aunt and uncle in Azalea Town, where she is forced to work at Bugsy's gym as part of her parole to avoid juvenile jail time. Her aunt works at the Pokémon Mart in the town while her uncle works as a wood cutter in the nearby Ilex Forest.

Current Team:
- Ashe serves as Janice's first Pokémon. She received her as a Charmander back when she lived with her parents in Celadon City. Ashe is headstrong, much like her trainer. She tends do things her own way, very rarely listening to anyone or anything other than Janice. At times, the two can butt heads themselves, usually in a bout between who is actually the authority of the team. Still, Ashe will do her part in battles and keeping Janice safe... Most of the time. She is quick to establish her dominance among the team or any other trainer's Pokémon she happens to meet. Janice's plan for Ashe is to teach her how to play lead guitar.

- Janice's guilty pleasure. She encountered this Buneary out in Illex Forest, shortly after she came to live with her aunt and uncle. Injured and abandoned by its original trainer, Janice took the time to nurse the Buneary back to health. Although she initially planned to release her back into the wild, the Buneary refused to leave Janice's side, forcing the teenager to accept her onto the team. The two have grown rather close since then, but Janice refuses to admit that its mainly because of how cute she is. Janice calls the Buneary "Nina". Her goal is to get her to play bass guitar.

- The newest catch of Janice's team, coming straight from Union Cave. He's a serious, no-nonsense type of Geodude and is often at odds against Janice's Charmeleon. Dependable and always ready for battle, Janice has high hopes for the Geodude she calls Flint. She plans to have him play the drums.

[ Hepualaha'ole Ka'ai ]

Name: Hepualaha'ole Kahoalani

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Femily: Hepualaha’ole has quite an unusual family situation. Her parents divorced when she was 5 and she can’t really remember a time before they were separated. She grew up in Olivine living with her dad by the sea, and later with her dad and his boyfriend. She was very happy there, she was a killer surfer and she loved her dads. Her mother lived in Azalea and she visited a few weeks a year. During one of these weeks Bugsy asked for her help and she decided to stay a bit longer.

Goals and Interests: Hepualaha’ole’s biggest problem is that, as sure as she is in some things, she has absolutely no idea what she wants to do with her life. Any questions about the future have her wanting to excuse herself, curl into a ball, and try to stop existing. You know, normal stuff. This is also the reason why she started working for Bugsy, as an interim thing where she didn’t have to think about things like college or jobs. When Bugsy told her about the Retribution she knew she couldn’t just stand idly by while horrible things were happening, especially not since many of the institutions that were supposed to prevents things like there were standing idly by.

Strengths: Hepuala is brave and strong, both physically and emotionally. She always helps those in need and will always defend those who can’t defend themselves. She’s levelheaded and keeps her wits about her in a crisis. She’s also a natural leader, quick to take charge of a situation should she be required too. She’s a fantastic swimmer and a good surfer, both of these qualities left her with strong muscles and good endurance.

Weaknesses: Hepualaha’ole sees the world in black and white. Shades of grey make her uncomfortable and she prefers not to think about it. It’s so much easier to hate someone without thinking of their better sides too. For all her bravery she’s content sticking her head in the sand when things move into that unpleasant ambiguous area. She also holds grudges, boy does she hold grudges. Cross her once, shame on you and good luck getting in her good graces again.

This aside she always doesn’t know when to back down. She’s terrible at picking her fights, instead wanting to fight all of them. If she thinks something is worth fighting for she will fight even if she cannot win. She won’t stand idly by injustice. She’s a natural leader, but at the same time she’s very bad at being lead by others. If she doesn’t agree with something she will contest it, and if pressed will ignore it and do her own thing.
