[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
    Crossroads;RETRIBUTION - ACT II
One day, only weeks ago, a number of young trainers woke up in their homes in Cherrygrove City, Johto. This was the day when the resident pokémon researcher, professor Pine, had promised to give them a rare pokémon and a pokédex in return for their participation in a certain study. The study basically involved training their given pokémon and reporting any successes or oddities back to the professor. Since it's tradition that most kids take a leave from school to go on a pokémon journey once they become teenagers, this was the perfect opportunity to do so.

What the young trainers were about to learn though, was that dark powers lurk in Johto these days. A criminal organisation called Team Rocket is creeping into higher and higher ranks in the pokémon world, and they seem difficult to stop. Money is power in this world. Pine's trainers encountered Team Rocket on their travels and learned that they had been kidnapping pokémon from trainers and performed horrible experiments on them. Experiments that somehow even made a few pokémon start speaking human language. Specifically, the shiny pokémon...

However, an underground organization opposing TR has formed, and they are doing everything they can to mess up TR's business. Pine is one of the front figures in the resistance, or as the gym leader Whitney has named them: the Retribution. Other leaders of the organization includes gym leader Bugsy of Azalea Town, and his friend old master Kurt. And most certainly more well known figures around the region.

    Recent history:
The Retribution had planned on taking more drastic action already before the Pine trainers reached Azalea Town. As they did arrive, Bugsy and Kurt allowed these brave souls to help drive Team Rocket out of Slowpoke Well. They didn't manage to capture the residing TR Admin, but the kidnapped pokémon were freed and the operation there ended permanently. As the trainers struggle to get back into their life of pokémon training and keep going in professor Pine's study, Kurt and Bugsy have decided to move along with their original plans after all.

    New plot:
Bugsy has rallied a few interested young trainers who were currently residing in Azalea. After having let them help out in his gym for a while, he has made sure that he can trust them, and that they are now ready to be sent out on missions for the Retribution. Sometimes, the Azalea trainers will operate alone on Bugsy's orders, other times they will team up with each other or even with the Pine trainers. And sometimes, they will be free to journey onwards in the region of Johto on their very own pokémon adventure.

The world of pokémon lies ahead!

    Currently, SPOTS ARE OPEN!

    the workings of the RP

Areas will be presented as chapters, and each chapter will give you options on what events or missions to undertake. You will not be able to do them all, so the main game lies in choosing the events that will shape your character and the adventure to your taste. There will also be setting descriptions and lists of pokémon available for capture.

Players choosing the same events should do them together. This is to make the RP enjoyable for you so that you won't have to write on your own, and also to avert story troubles. Player interaction can be done through joint posts, which can be created by sending a PM back and forth and building onto the text until a story worthy of a post has been made - OR by using titanpad! You may of course also take turns posting directly in the IC thread if you prefer that.

There are no levels. Instead, your pokémon will grow by earning new moves or quirks or abilities once in a while. The GM will hand out these things after you have finished an event.

If you want a pokémon to evolve, ask in the OOC thread. The GM will decide whether it's time or not for your pokémon to evolve. Item evolution works like Stone evolution. You can only aquire Stones/Items through events and once you own them you may perform the evolution whenever you want. Trade evolution works like normal evolutions.

When capturing pokémon, you have to wait for approval! You may battle wild pokémon or befriend them, but before the "capture" is complete, you need to end your post ambigously and wait for the GM to tell you if it is a success or failure.

You may trade pokémon with other players. You may only trade pokémon with NPC characters if it's specifically stated in the chapter post.

Just so you know... The events of Pokémon Red/Blue/Yellow/Gold/Silver have not occured in this pokémon world. The story of this RP will sort of replace the game canon, just so we're all in the clear about that ;)

    Pine Trainers

The players who were part of Chapter 8 (Slowpoke Well) are welcome to rejoin. Simply submit your old SU in the OOC thread. If you have made any edits since you signed up for the last thread, please state so so that I'll give it a re-read.

You will start on Chapter 10 (Ilex Forest). If you had unfinished business in Chapter 9 (Azalea Town part 2), you may simply recap it in a post when your character is in Ilex.

    Azalea Trainers

New players! Welcome to Crossroads, a RP that has been running like a badly oiled roller coaster since January 2014 <3

You will sign up as a trainer who already owns one or a couple of pokémon. You are free to be inventive when it comes to your character's background, but you will have been living in (or temporarily residing in) Azalea Town when the RP starts, since you have been recruited by Bugsy and been helping out around his jungle-like Bug type gym for the past few weeks (or months if you really want that). Now, Bugsy has told you about Team Rocket's dark business around the region and about the Retribution's effort to thwart them. Police won't listen as they have been corrupted. The Pokémon League Association is too busy in other parts of the world to listen to rumors in Johto that don't even seem to bother the local police force. So you are the region's only true chance of becoming a safe and happy place again.

You won't own any shiny pokémon yourself, but you have been told that the Pine trainers own shiny pokémon and that if you should encounter them on your journeys, you are to collaborate with and befriend them as best as you can.

You will start on Chapter 10 (Ilex Forest). If you have anything you want to speficically state that your character did before leaving home/Bugsy's gym/Azalea Town overall, you may simply reference/recap it in a post when your character is in Ilex.

    rules

1 - Follow all the PC and Roleplay Theatre rules.

2 - The rating is T. I don't see a reason to describe battles, romance or injuries with more detail than this rating will allow. You are free to describe pokémon battling in a way you feel comfortable with, but things should be closer to the anime's style than to a bloody war or real life streetfight. Although, pokémon have died... But it wasn't graphic, I swear (A)

3 - Be polite and nice OOC. I have the final word on everything, for the sake of organisation.

4 - If you want to sign up as an Azalea Trainer, post your interest and I'll put you on a list. Then, I might pick the first finished SUs or the best ones, or possibly the ones that seem to bring the best characters for our existing ensemble. You don't sign up to CR for some quick fun - we build a long journey story here and your character will become a legend :)

sign up sheet for AZALEA TRAINERS

    Name: (up to your imagination)
Age: (14-18, normally you are a young teenager when you leave on first journey and those were the kind of people Bugsy wanted to help the Retribution out)
    Gender: (female or male)

Appearance: (what kind of face, body and hair does your character have? What do they wear on the journey? If you put up a picture it will probably be enough, but if I for some reason want more description, I'll let you know)

Family: (how and with whom does your character live? alternative, whom did they grow up with?)
Goals and interests: (list, and explain if you want, some things your character likes to do in their free time. Dreams and aspirations should be listed as well)

Strengths: (what is your character good at? What are the positive sides of their personality?)
Weaknesses: (what are your character's fears? What are they bad at? What are the negative sides of their personality?)

Pokémon: (you may own 1-3 pokémon when the RP starts. Only one may be evolved, and only once. State their species and gender and any personality quirks or habits - the GM will assign them movesets if you are accepted!)

Roleplay sample: (can either be something new featuring your character, or a recently made post from another RP that shows how you are planning to write in this RP)

    Name: Aberdeen Montany
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male
    Theme song:
    Spoiler:

Family: Aberdeen used to live in Cherrygrove City with his mother and father. Little more than two years ago, his older sister Anabel died in an accident involving pokémon, and that event has shaped Deen a lot. Aberdeen's father is a very artsy and cheerful man who works in Cherrygrove's finest flower shop, while his mother is a very concerned and somewhat strict woman who works as a nurse at the local Pokémon Center. They each had one pokémon pet who became playmates of Aberdeen and Anabel as the children grew up: Sunflora and Wigglytuff.

Goals and interests: Aberdeen has lived a fairly normal and easy life and has a couple of great friends but also nowadays people who find him annoying at times. This is because he changed when his sister died and became more extrovert and reckless. His main goal with this journey and why he was so willing to accept a pokémon from Pine and do the study, is that he wants to take chances, take risks and experience things. He wants to do the things others wouldn't, he wants to be that crazy, daring person. Because his sister, despite being a tough girl in her own right, never really took any risks and preferred to be smart and play things safe... and that didn't do her any good in the end. Aberdeen refuses to end his life like that too. He will take on the gym challenge because it seems hard, but he isn't completely focused on challenging every trainer he sees or capturing every pokémon he encounters. Becoming the greatest pokémon trainer is the goal of so many kids nowadays; he'd rather become the greatest human being.

Strengths: Ab can surprise others by thinking out of the box or doing seemingly crazy spur-of-the-moment things. When offended or outsmarted, he seems to lack a proper sense of pride since he'd admit that he was wrong rather easily. Not easily confused; sees what's important, at least to him right there and then. As such, he is quick thinking in the heat of things but not always the wisest when it comes to big, important decisions. In general, he comes across as outgoing and cheerful. He is also pretty unselfish most of the time, unless he is feeling really impatient.

Weaknesses: Sort of impatient and reckless, stemming from his wish to accomplish something and take risks in life. Doesn't like contemplating things, so can make decisions a bit too quickly sometimes. Contemplation makes people depressed or grumpy, according to him, so if he notices that someone else is like that, he'll feel uneasy. Mostly only afraid of ghosts and anything that's got to do with death (because of his sister being dead and possibly his Pidgey too, and him being a fan of the supernatural after all) but that can make him pretty faint-hearted. Rather physically weak!

Torchic | female | Double Team
    Morgan Wilson
    age 16 | female

Appearance: Standing on about 155cm, Morgan is a young girl of below average height for her age. She has a pretty slim and small-structured body, most likely inherited from genes. Her most obvious trait is her long pink pig-tails that is tied with a black scrunchie on one end, and on the other end, she has a black tied ribbon that's tied with the other end of her pigtail. As for her outfit, she wears a pink dress that has hot pink lace and patterns. She also wears really long black stockings with light pink lace tied. Finally, she wears light pink buckle shoes.

Family: Morgan's the only child to her mother and father, where her mother works full time as an accountant, and her father works full time as a major drunk. Soon the inevitable happened, and her parents got a divorce, where Morgan was looked after by her mother. She actually used to live near the outskirts of Hoenn until she and her mother moved away to a smaller, less expensive house near Johto's Violet City. Morgan wasn't exactly dependant on her mother, as she always finds herself alone in her home, while her Mom went to work. Her father, she had a lesser relationship with, since she always felt that her dad had no time for her, or rather, she felt that he didn't want her. So, she always had an uneasy relationship with her family in general, but, that was normal to deal with, at least to her.

Goals and Interests: Despite her nature, Morgan likes to take it easy often, and sit out somewhere to drink tea, or read a book outside. She always preferred staying outdoors rather than indoors, because she always had a keen interest in nature, with plant life, the atmosphere, the stars at night, the radiant sun, and most importantly, with Pokemon. She loved Pokemon from a young age, even when she used to live upon Hoenn, she always found herself feeding the wild Taillow and reading books about the wonders of Caterpie evolution. Ever since she was 10, she always dreamed of having her own pokemon, and travelling to her heart's desire. As for pokemon battling, she always wanted to try it out; how she will succeed as a true pokemon trainer, and travelling the lands, looking for battles to increase her experience. But her ultimate goal is to meet as many pokemon as possible, in an attempt to understand more about the world.

Rival: Sometime ago when Morgan was 13, Morgan joined a club of potential pokemon trainers who also had the same goal in mind, to be the best trainers that they can. Perhaps that the members of this group is what Morgan precieves as a Rival? Maybe. However, Morgan generally doesn't really consider anyone to be a 'rival', per se, as she doesn't really have a competitive nature, but more of a go-with-the-flow type of person. There are a couple of people in her club that stick out the most for her, though.

Strengths: Morgan has a sense of tactful-ness about her. She takes good care for her friends, and anything else that she deems important, and no matter what, she'll never abandon anyone in need. Most of the time, she presents a level-headed and calm nature that allows her to think more rationally, so the actions that she does are almost always justified. She's more of a realist than anything, and thus, she's more open minded towards beliefs, attitudes, and other rationale from people.

Weaknesses: Unfortunately, while she does present a calm demeanour, she can also easily blow her temper if there was something that really sets her off. She's not afraid to show her feelings, and that can be a little uneasy going when it comes to decent conversation. Also, with her temper, she can sometimes make decisions on impulse; one that can net her into trouble easily. She's also pretty blunt with people, which can rub them the wrong way, and at first glance, she's not exactly easy going with people, since she can be awfully judgmental of them, even from a first glance. Also? Due from her relaxed nature, she can be awfully lazy at times, leaving off important tasks until the very last minute, or better yet for her, leave someone else to do it. Finally, she likes to tease others, on one hand, signalling that she likes them, but on another, can be quite annoying to others!

    Name: Christina Langley

    Age: 17

    Gender: Female

Current Pokémon: Sindy (Shiny, female Quilava), Conan (Male Bagon), Shade (Male Haunter), Unown T

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

Christina is generally as she looks in the picture, albeit she usually carries her bag with the strap on the opposite shoulder, she doesn't have those odd appendages around her wrists (Though she does still wear the gloves), and she doesn't have the chains coming off of her belt.

Family: She lives with her father, her mother travelling overseas very often, due to her being employed on the S.S. Aqua as a chef. She also used to live with her brother, Marcus, who's two years older than Christina, and left on his Pokémon Journey when he was sixteen, three years ago. The Langley family live in a moderate, two-story house near the outskirts of the town with a broken-down playground not too far away from where they live.

Goals and interests: Christina wants to, in the end, become even more famous than her brother. She has no idea how to do this, or what exactly it is she wants to –do- to become famous, but a Pokémon Journey, for her, is about bonding with your Pokémon and, most of all, discovery. Both of the personal and the worldly kind. So she figures the Journey is a great place to start looking for answers to the questions she's asking herself, not bothered by the fact that her goal more or less just spurred from her brother teasing her relentlessly since they were little.
She greatly enjoys the ideas of adventure and exploring and, unlike most kids, had a very mixed childhood of both playing video games, and roaming the forest's edge around the town they lived in. She was fascinated with the idea of finding new areas of the woods that nobody had been to before, to map it out and set up a little camp and afterwards, fight off pretend-monsters and evil Pokémon. She enjoys music a lot and isn't afraid of showing it with a bit of dancing or humming along if she knows the song and it's played loud enough. Another thing to note is that she loves swimming, bathing and sailing, thanks to her mother's early influence on her, and she won't shy away from taking a dip in a lake, should she come across one.

Rival: You –could- say that Christina's older brother Marcus, is sort of a rival to her. She always had to hear about how Marcus was insanely popular with the girls, and he constantly belittled her, picking fun at her whenever he could, though in a… brotherly sense. The fact that he left on his journey before her and he's older than her, as well as the fact that he's started becoming a somewhat well-known Pokémon battler on TV, secretly makes Christina want to do ten times better than Marcus, though she'd never admit that to anyone.

Strengths: Christina is a very go-and-get-'em type person, meaning that she likes to tackle her problems head on, rather than wait around and try and think of some other solution. She can be very feisty, but at the same time, very cheerful and happy, and despite any first impressions that would hint towards a tomboy, she's definitely not afraid of showing her more feminine side either. Due to her 'adventuring' and running around in early childhood and even as she grew up, she's become a rather agile person as well, though not very strong, she's definitely quick on her feet.
She cares a lot for her friends and those around her, believing in fairness and fighting for those who can't fight for themselves. However, if her friends or people close to her are in danger, her attitude changes from her usually feisty mannerisms, to a more cautious one, which makes it clear that she would blame herself if something were to happen to them while in her presence.

Weaknesses: Despite her love of the waters and seas, Christina is still deathly afraid of drowning, even more so than most people. Should she be on a bridge or a boat that she starts sensing is about to sink, or a scenario like it, she'll panic and freak out. As such, she's also very afraid of underwater Pokémon and certain fish, which is also a reason as to why she would never ever touch any kind of seafood (Though she claims it's because they have the most horrid stink).
While she's very spunky and can be very 'Take charge', this also words as a double-edged sword, as she can be very stubborn, both in her actions and her point of views, though usually it's more the latter than the first. Her adventurous mind and her willingness to charge into situations along with her natural curiosity, also often lands her in trouble or bad situations, which, in some cases, could be argued that she sort of asked for. She's also not very fond of insects or 'creepy-crawlies' of any kind, though this is not to the point that her fear of underwater 'mon stretch. It's more the 'Stay at a distance and watch them burn with glee' sort of situation.

    Welcome back, Dragon/Morgan!

    And Basty/Christina!

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

    Name: Melody Hughes

    Age: 15

    Gender: Female

    Current Team:
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

Appearance: Melody's appearance is pretty similar to that of her picture up above. She is a bit short for her age, standing at 4'9". Because of this, Melody often gets people to confuse her for being a few years younger than she actually is. Due of her tomboyish nature, she tends to avoid wearing more girlish colors such as pinks and purples and wear shorts as opposed to skirts and dresses. When traveling, she keeps all her items in a dark green backpack which she wears off her left shoulder.

Family: Melody lives with hermother and older sister. Her mother makes a living working as a nurse within Cherrygrove's Pokecenter. Her older twin sister, Emily, decided not to embrace the life of a Pokemon trainer. Rather, she decided to finish schooling and then study to become a teacher herself. Melody's father, Cliff, used to live with the family as well. However, since her father is a Pokemon trainer himself. The man had began his career as a trainer at the age of 15 years old, much like Melody is now. However, he rarely stops by home, which leaves a noticable void in the family's lives. The family makes its home in a quaint, little house close by the Pokemon Center where Melody's mother works.

Rival: Melody considers her father to be her rival. Always hearing stories from both her mother and her sister about his talents and adventures, Melody has found herself realizing that her pining for a Pokemon journey of her own stems from those stories she heard growing up as a child. She has accompanied her family to see some of his battles. He has even ventured to Indego Plateau on numerous occasions to take on the Elite 4 challenge. While Cliff has never actually managed to battle and win against the Champion, he has won various awards and tournaments within the Johto region. This has made him fairly well-known in the region. Melody has always felt a slight anger at her father's way of living. While she has no disrespect for the man's life as a trainer, she feels that Cliff has essentially abandoned his family, letting his fame and reputation.

Goals and Interests: Melody has always dreamed about embarking on a Pokemon journey of her own. Facing trainers in epic battles, meeting and forming an unstoppable team of Pokemon, traveling across Johto and seeing all the region has to offer... The girl wants to experience it all. As she grew up, Melody began to find another desire building into her dreams of a career as a trainer: finding and confronting her father. The girl feels that she would only be a successful trainer if she is able to meet her father and defeat him properly in a Pokemon battle. Because of this, she has made it her goal to surpass him in skill and while keeping her family close, instead of abandoning them as he did.

Strengths: A generally positive thinker with energy to spare. Melody is one to approach every challenge with a smile and a will to never give up, no matter how difficult it may seem. Melody is generally a very friendly girl, always willing to greet everyone with a smile and lend an ear to anyone who may need it. A tomboy by nature, Melody always spent a good deal of time outside playing games like baseball instead of playing with dolls and the like. Because of this, she prides herself on being tough and a bit stronger than most girls her age.

Weaknesses: Because of her hyper active tendancies, Melody often has a hard time managing to keep quiet and still at points. This has been a problem for her as long as she can remember, often getting her into trouble when she was in school for not being able to keep still during class. She also has a habit to start rambling away while talking, letting her imagination get the best of her as she lets the endless possibilities of something run through her mind. Always one to be a bit on the clumsy side, sneaking about is not her strong suit by any means. Melody is absolutely terrified of heights.

I'll be back too. Just have to stop being lazy and edit in my SU to this post later.

Name: Garison Silvermach (now you know where my name came from).
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male

Appearance: Garrison has brown hair with some golden yellow strands of hair that was dyed, fair skin, dark brown eyes and a few freckles, though they are not very noticable at first glance. When standing up straight he is 5' 9" and his physical build is slighlty larger than the average teen, but bulky would not be an accurate discription. He wears a read T-shirt, dark blue pants, red shoes, a brown backpack, and a watch on his left wrist on his travels, though it can occasionally vary depending on what activity he is participating in.

Family: The Silvermach family lived on a farm. His Father also worked as a pokemon doctor, and his mother worked at a Pokemon Daycare. He was looked after as much as any child should, but he was far from spoiled; at nine years old he worked just as his parents did. His household had many rules, and this gives the family a rather black and white view on morality and how people should behave. His simbling is a younger twin sister who is interested in competing in the Pokemon Leauge.

Goals and interests: Ever since getting into Pokemon, Garrison has wanted to be a Pokemon Ranger, and also likes the idea of being a private investigater. This was fuelwd by the fact that he is unable to stand seeing anything done wrong, regardless if it as serious as a friend being bullied, or as trivial as someone standing in a fountain with a no wading sign. While he also wishes to be able to be a pokemon champion, he finds this as an unachievable dream, and simply keeps himself content with daydreaming about it.

Outside pokemon, Garrison likes to enjoy a nice board game (Though he tends to play with his Dad's intellegent pokemon if he can't find any other canidates). He was at one point into Karate, but upon learning about there being several degrees of brown belts after earning a second degree one, he quits in exasperation over it.

Strengths: Garrison is quite intellegent and a fast learner. He is able to reasonably connect concepts to each other with relative ease and almost has a photoscopic memory. He is able to make friends pretty easily, and is not really quick to find fault in other people, unless its clearly obvious. For the most part, Garrison tends to behave rather maturely around other people, and is not really one to do anything that will make him look like an idiot, and is somewhat self-conscious as a result however. He is also not the type to hold a grudge for anything, and if he is asked for forgiveness, he willact as if though he never had any trouble before.

Weaknesses: Garrison has a fear of seeing death in anyone he knows, and can be a bit overprotective as a result, which others tend to find more annoying tan helpful (Including his own pokemon.) Garrison is also not good at detecting how people feel about something he is doing except when he wants to, and he can sometimes take his honesty a little too far. As mentioned above, Garrison is quite self conscious about how other people view him, and is not fond of getting teased or made fun of, though he probally won't show this outwardly. He is also known to have mood swings, which can make it difficult to tell him if he is doing something that is not being looked on very well, as it could push him into a rather negative mood very quickly and easily. Garrison is also not really on the creative side, and this is shown by the fact that he tends not to give his Pokemon nicknames. He is also unable to swim.

Roleplay sample: Inside the hotel, a young fifteen year old boy was sleeping in the bed. That was until the alarm sounded. Exaspirated, the boy simply turns off the alarm, hoping to get more sleep, as he was tired from his pokemon training that went on until midnight yesturday. Seeing as he clearly did not want to get up, Arcanine opted to wake up its trainer by rolling him off the bed.

"Yeooooww!!" Yelled Garrison, as his tail bone landed on his backpack. "That is the last time at let you sleep out of your ball for a long time." Arcanine wimpered of dissapointence. "Well since you knocked all the drowsiness out of me, I better get dressed now."

After five minutes, the young teenager was dressed in his usually set of clothes: he wore a pair of red and white shoes on his feet, and a crimson t shirt with a small icon f a Poke ball at the back of it, not that the boy's backpack would allow it to be seen.

"Alright Arcanine, stay here while I go get some breakfest down stairs ok, and don't break anything, please."
Arcanine grunted as if to say, "OK Garrison" which was the trainer's name after all. Garrison went down to the first floor through the elevator, and down to the kitchen to find something to eat. Hopefully they had his favorite kind of oatmeal, though he usually could not find it in hotels. Typical of city life, doesn't have anything from the country.

Fifteen minutes later, in the hotel room, Garrison returns to find a sleeping Fire type on his bed. Well, mabye I should have some pay-back time Garrison then attempts to roll his Arcanine off the bed as it did to him earlier. But the attempt proved to be in vain. Honestly, he had no idea what he was thinking at the time, so he opts to take Arcanine off the bed the old fashion way: all he needed was the giant dog's pokeball. Garrison pulled out a white and red sphere from his pocket, and threw it at Arcanine as if it was a baseball. The ball hits the pokemon, opening up, and zapping Arcanine into its interior.

"That's what I call using Revenge" Garrison said to himself. "But I am not going to let him starve in there." Garrison throws the Poke Ball in front of a bowl of pokemon food, and Arcanine comes out the same way he came in, only instead of a sleeping face, he came out with a slight scowl.

"Hey, don't give me that look," Garrison said. "Ever heard of eye for an eye? Or do you want me to take your food next?"

Arcanine looked at Garrison's bowl with a sly look on its face, as if it was threatening to take Garrison's food if he took his.
"Oh, I get it, your very funny." said Garrison sarcasticly, realizing the pokemon was alluding to his previous statment of revenge. Garrison then preceeded to sit on the table to eat as Arcanine ate its Pokemon food.

Prepare, mortals, for the ULTIMATE RYAN >:D

    EDIT: DONE!

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)
    Rio Blanco
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

    14 | Male | Not Ryan

Family: Before talking about Rio's family, a little history should be told about his ancestors first. The Blanco family originates from a far-off region, much hotter and more humid than the mild-weathered Johto. Alberto Blanco, Rio's great-grandfather, was the first to settle in Goldenrod city with his wife and five children. Being a young, talented entrepreneur in a still-developing city, Alberto seized the opportunity and started a small day-care center for the inhabitants of the city. The center also operated as a kind of grocery shop where Pokémon goods such as eggs, Moomoo milk, herbs and berries were sold. Over the years, as the shop grew in size and in profit, Alberto began bringing in more of his family - and their skills along with them. Realizing how fertile the Johto market was, the Blanco family soon began opening shops providing goods and services all across the region - from breeders to tailors (for both people and Pokémon) to craftsmen, the incredibly large family had spread all across Johto, which each generation becoming apprentices of the previous one's trade.

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

Fast-forward to the current Blanco family; where Rio lives with his parents, grandmother and 3 younger sisters - all of them being triplets. His father, Alberto Jr. the Third, works as a mechanic and handyman in Azlea town while his mother, Maria, works as a tutor in Pokéball Mechanics in private classes. Hi sisters - Rayne, Raine and Ryanne - are nine and attend the local school. To date, nobody from the Blanco family has ever set off on a journey.

Goals and interests: In terms of interests, Rio is a great fan of mechanics and robotics - having learned most about the two from his father and mother. He enjoys tinkering with devices he doesn't know about to discover how they work, and is often found recreating a certain device into another (a remote controller into a morse code machine, for example). One of his biggest role models and inspirations is one of Kalos' Gym Leaders Clemont.

Just like the rest of his family, Rio started becoming an apprentice of his father's at a young age. He frequently visited the family day care - which is where he received his first Pokemon, an oddish, add the age of ten. For four years, the pair were a great team, and Rio often volunteered to help as an acolyte of Bugsy's gym at times. While he partly enjoys the current stable and routine life he is currently leading, he secretly wishes for one thing - to leave Azlea town and become the gym leader of the very city his great-grandfather first arrived in.

Strengths: Rio is a skilled craftsman, mechanic, tinkerer, robotics designer, Pokeball architect, watchmaker, electronics expert... as much as a fourteen-year-old can be. Most of what he has learned has been though school, his parents or experimentation - one of which almost burned his hand (and all of Bret's leaves) right off. With a great sense of curiosity and a love for the unknown and the unexplained, Rio is often the first to step in and take initiative in situations - though his charisma with words may be a little... lacking. However, he is not an introvert and happily enjoys debating and discussing strategies with other fellow trainers. Physically, he is durable (though not heavily muscled) thanks to his many days spent in his father's garage.

Weaknesses: Despite his intelligence in the fields of physics, mechanics and robotics, Rio's knowledge and interest in other domains is below average. Not one for the written or visual arts, he is not a great fan of fictional books or shows. He is terrible at Pokemon Science, too - spare a few such as Porygon or the legendary Genesect. Rio is also a terrible partner in team battles - often completely forgetting the existence of his partner(s) and blindly following his own strategies most of the time.

    Pokémon:

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

    Species: Oddish
    Gender: Male
Nickname: Bret (which was also his previous nickname)
    Ability: Chlorophyll

Bret is an extremely enthusiastic oddish. Too bouncy and hyperactive for Rio, he often causes chaos and havoc whenever he goes. Reported to have accidentally killed his previous owner with a lethal cloud of poison gas. He has been with Rio for four years.

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

    Species: Mothim
    Gender: Male
    Ability: Swarm

Of adamant nature, he is quiet and often prioritizes nobility over safety. Given to Rio by a strange young trainer he encountered in the street. This Mothim is mute and cannot fly much due to an apparent problem with his wings. However he considers his handicap as a mere obstacle he can overcome.

    Roleplay sample:

Sophia the foul-mouthed outlaw and Jeb the hardened bounty hunter from Gunpowder (JP with aeternum/sonata)

Nerites the oblivious water goddess from Titans

I'm gonna go ahead and express interest. Though I do have to ask, what's the speed of the RP? Or more precisely, is being able to post only around once a week going to cut it?

Are you accepting reservations? Because I am absolutely interested! (Please reserve me a spot if you are).

I'll edit this with a SU once I get it done, which should be soon tbh. There we go, I'll have a RP Sample soon.

@Geras I don't think the speed is going to be overwhelming. At first, probably a decent speed, but expect it to wittle down a bit as the 'starting rush' goes over. You should ALSO expect alot of JP'ing, considering this is all about interactions and doing events together.

@Drunk I think you just gotta throw up your SU as soon as you've got it ready.

[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

    Thérèse Meré Versteche

    Age: 17

    Gender: Female

Appearance: Terry's looks strike a strange balance between gentle and rough. She stands at an above-average 5'10, with fair skin and icy-blue eyes. She has a very strong chin and brow for a girl, as well as a slightly upturned nose and thin lips, finishing up a decent looking face. She has a bit of noticeable muscle tone thanks to all of her recent work, but not enough to impress anyone with the least bit of a discerning eye. She also has pretty broad shoulders and big hands for an otherwise-lithe frame. An odd recessive gene of her family that skipped several generations seems to have awakened in Terry, giving her silvery white hair. Her straight hair goes to her shoulder blades on the back and sides, and as low as her cheeks at the bangs, but she usually keeps it all tied into a neat pony-tail.

Terry is often found wearing a plain, red, long-sleeved shirt with a white collar and no designs up top. Lower down she is almost constantly seen in loose-fitting, sea green pants and black-and-white tennis-shoes. Whenever she's "at home" or out alone in the forest she replaces her shirt with a pitch-black hybrid of a karategi and a judogi.

Family: Terry was lucky enough to be blessed with loving parents that have the saint-like patience it took to deal with her as a child. Her father Gerald even managed to make time for family bonding despite how busy his career as one of Johto's top chemists was. When they failed to have another child it became a running joke that all the messing around with various compounds had damaged Gerald's virility...and resulted in Terry's unique hair color. Of course most people who knew the family would argue that Terry's mother Sharon had it way harder, having to be a homemaker with a troublemaker of her son's caliber. All in all it was a pretty picturesque family life, Terry herself was the only serious flaw in it all. But ever since she got herself under control she's been closer to her parents than ever.

Goals and interests: There isn't really all that much Terry wants out of life. Sure, she hopes to be the pokémon champion one day, but that's just the final step of a loved hobby. In her spare time Terry likes to practice various bits of martial arts, she uses them as a form of meditation to keep herself in check. Recently Terry's main driving force recently is a desire to keep her home-region safe, a desire that blazed up from outrage at what he'd heard about Team Rocket's actions.

Strengths: Terry can be really charming and charismatic when she's in a good enough mood or she's genuinely trying, if only she didn't seem to be so against trying. Since realizing her faults she's become very determined to eternally better herself, swearing never to give up on herself. Terry is also fairly strong and acrobatic thanks to all of her self-training and the manual labor she's done, especially since she arrived in Azalea. She's also hard to get to emotionally, almost never offended by anything she hears, unless it's from someone she has a lot of respect or affection for. She also has a fairly good mind for tactics, which helps her out quite a bit with battling.

Weaknesses: Even though she's rather polite now, Terry still hasn't conquered her negative side yet. For the most part she's merely managed to turn her sour feelings inward, leading to what seems like a low self-esteem. However, she still can't handle certain insults to her intellect, or anything that sounds like she's being called a coward. She very rarely accepts compliments as true, though he'll express thanks for them, and has a hard time realizing when what she's done is good enough and it's time to stop leading to her being very bullheaded once she starts something. She also considers herself a loner and tends to push other people away when they don't manage to bring out her good side, more than willing to sit by herself day in and day out this can lead to her being quite abrasive when there's no reason to be. Terry happens to have a strong phobia of sharp tools, especially knives. Even being near one is enough to make her nervous, but she completely freezes up if she touches one. Despite practicing what little she knows of martial arts Terry is by no means a fighter, she knows very little about fighting another person, and does her best to avoid it at all costs.

    Pokémon:

    Romanov, Male Munchlax
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

Terry's style of training, her determination, and her personality have made for a surprisingly hard-working and driven Munchlax. Romanov has even managed to maintain a...certain amount of control over his hunger.

    Cascade, Female Squirtle
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

Cascade is far more bubbly than any of her attacks could hope to be, happily scampering about and trying to make friends with everyone she meets. She's one of the few beings that make Terry feel good about herself since she's the only person the Squirtle is even more loving towards than normal.

    Sanse, Male Riolu
[PokeCommunity.com] Crossroads; Retribution - ACT II (ooc)

Sanse can be an absolute nightmare to deal with. He's rude, crude, and always wants to pick fights with everyone he feels is tough enough to respond, in fact it's how they met. Despite how much the little Riolu gets on her nerves Terry trains with Sanse more than either of her other partners, because she reminds her of herself, which instills in Terry the absolute necessity of whipping him into shape.

    Welcome back Alby/Melody <33

I'll be back too. Just have to stop being lazy and edit in my SU to this post later.
Yes get your SU over here already, Pine trainer! Autoaccepted fosho.

Name: Garison Silvermach (now you know where my name came from)
Are all your characters named that, or what?

I'm holding off accepting you for a while. As always when GMs decide what players to include and not, it's not personal and you shouldn't feel bad. But I'm not quite convinced that you are a good fit for this particular RP. Feel free to expand on your SU a bit and make it even better if you want a better chance!

I might join up for act II

    Not totally sure yet xD
Of course you should. Get a SU up already c:

oh god no, you are instabanned from this RP

    (jk bring it bro)

I'm gonna go ahead and express interest. Though I do have to ask, what's the speed of the RP? Or more precisely, is being able to post only around once a week going to cut it?
It's generally quite slow. When we get new chapters up, we can get a couple of posts a week but other times less than that. ALthough, it has a lot to do with almost all posts being JPs! You don't often write alone, and as such the speed of which the JP is created at varies depending on how busy people are (or forgetful etc).

Are you accepting reservations? Because I am absolutely interested! (Please reserve me a spot if you are).

I'll edit this with a SU once I get it done, which should be soon tbh. There we go, I'll have a RP Sample soon.

    Spoiler:
This SU looks very very interesting. And it would be nice to RP with you again, as long as you are sure that you are in it for the long run ;) I guess we'll wait for a RP sample for formality's sake :3

No, It is just the name of my Pokemon character.

I will try expanding it now.

    Name: Vincent Baker
    Age: 17
    Gender: Male
Current team: Frogadier, Pidgeotto, Honedge, Beldum, Magikarp, Eevee

    Appearance:
    Spoiler:

Family: Ha! Family! That's a good joke. Vincent likes to pretend he doesn't have one, having so many falling outs with them. When he did have a home, it was all the way back in Goldenrod City, where he lived in the slums and ran with the wrong crew for far too long. His father was always gone "on business trips" but he usually came back with little to no money. His mother had to slave away in the department store making less than minimum wage, leaving Vincent with his little brother and sister. This forced Vincent to grow up fast and he has risen to the occasion for the most part. However, as he grew older, he became more and more spiteful towards the whole idea of babysitting and nothing doing what he wanted to do, eventually running off on his own, leaving his family in the dust. This caused him to run with local gangs and got in all sorts of trouble before bouncing from Goldenrod completely and wandering Johto aimlessly. And now he's here. A loner.

Goals and interests: They are two sides to Vincent's goals: What he wants you to think and what he actually wants to do. He wants people to think that he has no goals, being the living personification of simply living. No purpose, completely guided by his whims and nothing more. And truthfully, that is partially true. Vincent's immediate goals are completely guided by his impulses and desire for adventure and freedom. No parents. No responsibilities. No nothing to get in his way. However, being completely honest: Vincent wants to make something of himself. In particular, he wants to be something for his baby brother and sister to look up to. Because, really, his parents aren't exactly role models. Even if they are "trying" to be parents, Vincent believes they need someone otherworldly to really motivate them to work hard. This makes his whole journey motivated by selfless desires. But he would never admit that outright.

This being said, Vincent isn't much of one either. As eluded to it earlier, Vincent is an admirer of adventure. However, Vincent's version of adventure often involves pushing the limits, particularly of the law as he does anything for a good thrill. Messing with local law enforcement, pulling pranks, skateboarding in illegal places and street art are just a few examples of what Vincent does to get the blood flowing. When he isn't breaking the law for kicks, Vincent enjoys being in nature, finding a recent love in the environment, loving the idea of the sky, mountains and the stars. Occasional naps are enjoyable, as is doodling in his little art book that he carries around in his bag of stuff. In his quietest moments, Vincent loves to create art and stories, something he always did for his siblings before he put them to bed. It's an old habit.

Rival: Does law enforcement count as a rival? Because hohoho…Vincent has a number of police officers who do not like him.

Truthfully, Vincent has a lot of enemies. His biggest enemy would be, at least at this point, his father. After bumping into him recently, Vincent's loathing for his father has been reignited to a strange mix of a lack of child rearing on his head, a lack of respect for authority in general and a staunch fear that he will become just like him.

Strengths: Vincent's greatest strength is his resourcefulness. Having been forced to grow up a bit earlier than everyone else around his age, he has become independent and self-sufficient. This has made him very adaptable, and he quickly adjusts to new situations. He can think on his feet quite well, having years of experience having to do to outrun any number of situations. His constant successes have given him an air of confidence, and he is more than willing to leap into situations firmly believing he will walk away gaining any sort of victory that he was aiming for. Vincent is very dedicated to whatever whims or goals he develops, and will fight the good fight to accomplish whatever he wants. He can think outside the box and is literally willing to do whatever he needs to do to seize his dreams. He's an opportunist, valiantly fighting for his beliefs…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Weaknesses: Vincent isn't very likable. He's self-reliance comes from his lack of trust in people and aside from a select few, he vehemently refuses to open up to anyone, preferring to keep them at a distance with insults and taunts. His distrust of people tends to be quite crippling, and he is very slow to make friends. In fact, his morality towards people is so bad that he has tendency to betray people flat out. His self confidence has also been inflated by his frequent successes to the point of blind arrogance. He refuses to admit his faults, ever. In fact, his arrogance blinds him to any failures, being senselessly reckless. He is more likely to dive head first into a problem rather than think it out, being the definition of careless. Crusading for his dreams has made him stubborn and willing to fight dirty in order to snatch the successes he is so enamored with. He's cold steel, never willing to break…and that may be the best way to describe him.

Roleplay sample: You already know how I RP. But I'll throw down some links from One Piece: The Golden Age. It's all JPs haha. Here's one with good old Alby. WHO HAPPENS TO BE IN THIS RP.
