Stage 12 - Ambrette Town, Spike Passage & Glittering Cave

Time at Stage Start: 10 PM

With the adventures in Ambrette Town set to finally come to a close, our heroes are met with a rather disturbing development. Under the noses of all involved, the power supply set in the Cyllage City Lighthouse was stolen in the middle of the night and the resulting tragedy was catastrophic. A massive cruise liner has crashed ashore on Route 8L late last night and the aftermath is currently still being cleared to the best of the local Rangers ability. While the tragedy is being cleared as best as possible, trainers are asked to abstain and assist with various rescue relief efforts in the town itself, while also assisting in what is being called a high priority threat to the safety of citizens left ashore, the recovery of the lighthouse's power supply and the names of those responsible for this senseless loss of life and nature. A hefty reward has been offered to any whom can bring the criminals to justice.

In the meantime, the authorities suspect that the criminals may be hiding out in the cramped and dangerous glittering cave, filled to the brim with crystaline structures and ancient fossils, the light reflects through these ancient halls in prismatic beams that create a colourful haze throughout the narrow passageways bored out by pok?mon of old. To get here here however, is no simple task, the spires of stone and spikes that line the appropriately named Route 9 jut out from the floor below making passage by foot dangerous and incredibly slow going. It is reccommended that you take a pok?mon suited to mountainous terrain as your mount and cross the rugged path upon their back. For those lacking a pok?mon suited to this sort of task, the open sky has no stones to speak of.

Regardless of your interest in the crimes that have occured, Ambrette town offers the same services as before and there'll be plenty to do for all trainers in this mountainous roadblock.

As a carry over from the previous Ambrette Town stage, all missions marked as OPEN will remain available to players in Stage 12, ? Missions not included. All pok?mon from the previous stage located in and around Ambrette Town will also remain available.

Now then, onto the new missions:

? Mission 1:
Team Cinder grunts have been seen milling around the old caves at the end of Route 9, their plans are unknown and they've been doing their best to remain inconspicuous... but talking to locals you've gathered that they seem to be building something at the heart of Glittering Cave. The situation is dangerous and volatile to say the least and the population of Ambrette has been too frightened to investigate further. However, a savior came recently claiming to be the one to put a stop to things. The Aura Guardian, Simon, has gotten directly involved... and has been staying at a small center set up at the centrance to the cave itself. It's obvious that Cinder has the power source for the Cyllage Lighthouse, together, perhaps you and Simon could find the fiends and put a stop to this.

Reward: Cyllage Lighthouse Power Supply (Can be brought to Cyllage for a great reward, currently unknown.)

Mission 1:
An angered Durant nest is enough to strike fear into any pokemon. While everyone that stumbles upon the terrifying armies of pokemon flees straight away, one straggler seems to be thriving in such an environment: A Heatmor. A pokemon feeding on its natural prey usually wouldnt be a problem, but every time the Heatmor discovers the entrance to their nest, they're forced to build a new one. If things keep going the way they are, the Durant could end up becoming pests to Ambrette!

Reward:
Metal Coat + 1 Heat Rock

Mission 2:
Kane the photographer has come all the way from Viola's gym in Santalune to get a shot of a the fearsome Skarmory that can be found on this route. Problem is, is a but type trainer, so there's no way he can handle this thing on his own. If he's to climb onto the mountainsides where the the Skarmory roost, he's going to need a lot more than his own pokemon for protection.

Reward:
x3 Great Balls

Mission 3:
Sky battles are super popular on spike passage, but one kill joy, seems to be intent on ruining everyones fun. A petty trainer, who doesnt have any flying types, is sabotaging the contests by sending random Thunder attacks with his Heliolisk. If someone doesnt step in and get rid of this guy, the sky battlers may give him more than he bargained for.

Reward:
Flight Saddle

[OPEN]Mission 4:
The mazy tunnels of spike passage can be dangerous. Just the thing to draw in the thrill seekers. High stakes rhyhorn racing takes place regularly on the spiky and rough terrain. It's not the smartest of endeavours, but should you win, it can certainly be rewarding.

Reward:
6000 Poke

Mission 5:
Team Cinder have a strong presence in glittering cave. It's unclear what they're looking for, but they need to be stopped. It would be far too dangerous to attack any of them head on, but perhaps a stealthy trainer could use the darkness and the tunnels Cinder has dug to their advantage.

Reward:
Green and Black Dust

Mission 6:
Since the meteorites fell near Ambrette Beach, strange Sun and Moon shaped pokemon have been making their way to glittering cave. The pokemon are inseperable, yet cant stand being near each other. Some of the scientists studying the fall sites have reported that when they two come together, they produce the most beautiful of astral visuals.

Reward:
Sun Stone + Moon Stone

Mission 7:
A Kangaskhan is staring in despair at a boulder. Upon closer inspection, the large rock seems to be obstructing some sort of passageway. She seems to want whatever's on the other side very badly. To make matters worse...her pouch is empty!

Reward:
Cubone + 1 Egg Move + Thick Club

[OPEN] Mission 8:
The recent boat crash has left many families seperated at a refugee camp set up at the gate leading to Route 8 from Ambrette Town. Many people have been critically injured or need help in locating their family members. Spouses searching for significant others, parents looking for children, little ones searching desperately for their Mommy. It's an incredibly sad scene amidst a sea of injuries and pain. If you or your pok?mon can assist the rangers in healing the various people and pok?mon, or in reuniting seperated families, then you will be rewarded for your time.

Reward:
2 Full Restores + 1 First Aid Kit

Mission 9
The recent crash on the coast has left many wild pok?mon habitats dirupted both near the coast and further beyond. The newly established underwater safari park has been suddenly bombarded by strange floating jelly like pok?mon that have been attacking those diving from above the sanctioned water. One or two people have already been injured and the owner of the business is beside herself. She's promised anyone who can remove the pok?mon a reward, she cares not for how you accomplish this so long as they're no longer a threat.

Reward:
2 Unbound Safari Balls (Equivalent of Great Balls), 3 Pok?mon Trakcers (Attach to a pok?mon to track their location with the pok?dex across the region.)

Mission 10:
A local Shuckle upon Route 9 that the locals call "The Wall" has been dislodged from his usually completely unmoving position upon a nearby ridge, he's crushes a patch of spikes and is now blocking a significant portion of the path leading to Glittering Cave. He refuses to leave his shell and nobody can convince him to crawl back to his original position, some blame the pok?mons age, some claim he should be defeated to teach him a lesson... but his shell is rumored to be completely unbreakable, can he really even be damaged? What's that? Why is a single little Shuckle a problem anyway? I suppose I should have mentioned this first...

This Shuckle is the size of a Snorlax.

Reward:
TM Infestation + 1 Assault Vest

[OPEN] Mission 11:
Rockslide! As you're heading down Route 9 a wave of boulder sbegins to tumble down towards you and your pok?mon, threatening to crush everything in their path... you and other travellers included! Dodge as best you can, but watch out... it seems a young boy and his mother have tumbled off the cliff face and are lying injured down the side of the sheer drop on the Southern Side of the pathway! Someone has to do something... or this could be it for them.

Reward:
Shell Bell + TM Return + 1 Hard Rock

Mission 12:
A powerful Medicham resides deep in glittering cave alongside her master. Many have tried to defeat the hardened old lady, but they say her masterful use of weapons makes her practically unbeatable in a pokemon battle. With Cinder all over the place, the lady has her hands full with challengers thinking they can get rid of her, but as the grunts keep flooding in, she may be in need of some help.

Reward:
Shield Fossil or Razor Claw

Stage 13 - Muraille Coast

Time at Stage Start: 10 PM

As the night encroaches upon our heroes, they are in no way impeded as access to the Muraille Coast is finally re-opened to trainers and travellers alike. While all those lost, injured or worse have finally been removed from the wreckage of the crashed cruise liner, the S.S. Marée, a small pathway through the two halves of the ruined vessel has been cleared in order to stop the halting of traffic and trade between the city of Cyllage and town of Ambrette. While passing through the area, now lit by the subtle glow of warning lights to assist pedestrians and other vessels both, the trainers from Ambrette are met with a rather sombre night-time atmosphere.

The knowledge to some that the sheer scale of carnage (as well as the presumbaly loss of life, for both people and pokémon) was but a byproduct of Cinder's ever growing ambitions will surely be enough to stir upset and anger. For those feeling more adventurous, perhaps there is aught to be found in the wreckage of the vessel under the cover of night...? For a more heroic twist, who knows how many wild pokémon could find themselves in peril within the wreckage of the ship.

Still, there is more to the coast than a ruined ship, plenty of the sandy beaches prevalent along the route are clear of wreckage and free to explore... and the rocky cliffside above offers many vantage points and pokémon that are far different than the ones below. In any case, this rough and tumble route is far tougher than before. It's up to our heroes to find a way to the other side... and to at long last face off against their second gym challenge to date.

Grant awaits.

[OPEN] ★ Mission 1:
The wreckage of the S.S. Marée is wide and sprawling, taking up a massive section of the coastal route on both beach and cliffside levels. Full of newly attracted pokémon, various lost bits and pieces... and signs of great sadness. The ship is officially off limits... but the wild pokémon trapped inside or in the water beneath, sealed off by steel walls of jagged wreckage, need help escaping or they'll run out of food before anyone can reach them. If playing the hero isn't for you, then who knows what sorts of valuables could be left behind after such an expansive and expensive ship has crashed? It isn't the most morally righteous of causes, but it may be worth taking a look.

Complete 1 or both of the following objectives:
- Rescue a band of trapped wild pokémon.
- Loot ruined rooms and guest cabins for supplies and valuables.

Reward 1: 1 Wild Pokémon from the S.S. Marée with an egg move. + Mystic Water + Kings Rock + Deepsea Tooth/Scale
Reward 2: 3000-4000 Poké (Non-Monetary rewards may be found, discuss with the GMs what part of the ship you'll be searching and they will assign a reward at their discretion.)

OPEN Mission 1:
Ambrette beach is always an exciting place to be. Trainers are always offered a challenge by the parasol ladies who frequent the resort. The dont just challenge you to a battle themselves, they assign opponents based on their observations. These battles are always very interesting and tend to draw a crowd amongst beach goers. Those that refuse the challenge are left buried in the sand by everyone who witnessed the refusal. You really cant say no to these ladies.

Reward:
TM Draining Kiss

Mission 2:
A braggadocious surfer is drawing the attention of many surfers as him and his Marshstomp are giving a true crash course on just how surfing on pokemon is supposed to be done. He claims that anyone who manages his rigorous training will no doubt unlock a world of opportunity for themself. Both in battle, and in the exploration of the Kalos region.

Reward:
TM Surf

OPEN Mission 3:
Fisherman have been searching high and low for the legendary golden Magikarp. Many say it's just a myth, while others truly believe it could be a real thing. It would take a seriously talented fisher to find such a creature, and a damn good rod at that. (There's no such thing as a golden Magikarp)

Reward:
Good Rod

Mission 4:
A young trainer has recently been seen releasing pokemon near the peak of muraille cliffside after suffering a crushing third defeat to gym leader grant. Their Taillow and their Machop have taken shelter in the pokecenter, but the nurses who remeber the boy say that he had a third pokemon. A Bagon. The only reports they have of such are pokemon say that one has been seen leaping near the edge of the cliff. Nurses have tried to save the pokemon in its time of need, but it's hostile. Maybe a capable trainer could do something.

Reward:
Bagon with 1 egg move.

Mission 5:
The beach isnt only good for lounging around in the sun. One geologist has been finding rare stones in a cave by the coast. While he doesnt seem too keen on sharing his findings, he is willing to pay good money for an extra...or then again, maybe he can be convinced to let you keep your findings.

Reward:
Pickaxe + Stone of your choice

Mission 6:
Lillie is back! Since Riviere, she put together quite the team, and is intent on battling Grant once she gets to Cyllage, but first she wants to test herself against one of her friends she met since Lumiose City. Many of the Aquacorde graduates have helped her on her journey, and she wants to show it wasnt all for nothing. With Nebby, Brionne, Pancham, Chingling and now Hippopotas, she finally feels confident in the team she's assembled.

Reward:
Stardust

Mission 7:
A distant island off the coast seems to glimmer with a shining light even from out at this distance, if you squint you can just about make out some kind of altar set up... with the tide in barely any of the sandy plateau is above the water, so why on Earth would someone build something like that so far out? In curiosity and slight desire for the shimmer you can see, you make your way out towards the island to claim your prize... unaware of the guardian pokémon that seeks to protect the altar thus risen in worship of the Lord of the Tides himself, the Legendary Pokémon Lugia.

Reward:
1 Prism Scale

[OPEN] Mission 8:
In the confusion of the sudden crash, the local residents have forgotten about a certain pokémon that relies on their assistance, the ever stubborn Pyukumuku! The tiny squishy pokémon are sitting on their favorite spots on the beach despite the carnage... and like any other day, if they aren't thrown out into the ocean then they'll no doubt meet a swift end. Thankfully, one young Pyukumuku enthusiast is doing her best to save the creatures, but there's more than one young lady can handle. Will you help Pyukuput these little guys back where they're safe?

Reward:
1 Pyukumuku Hat, 1 Pyukumuku Inspired Backpack, 3 Hyper Potions colored in a fashionable Pyukupalette.

Mission 9
Deep in the depths of the grounded ship, a mother pokémon and her egg take refuge in the new environment, perfect for the steel and water types both. This mother Empoleon, however, has suffered greivous injuries of an unknown source. Her egg has sunked to a depth she can no longer reach without going into unbelievable pain. With her final moments and breaths she cries out desperately, searching for help, any help... so that her baby might be saved.

Reward:
1 Blue and White pokémon egg with streeks of silved down the sides.

Mission 10:
Up on the cliff-face above the beach, a cheeky Clawitzer is grabbing innocent Dwebble and launching them out of his in built canon at pedestrians passing by below! A pain for the people and a serious danger for the Dwebbles involved. This guy shouldn't get away with his actions because there are other things to be concerned about. Stopping him might be as simple as beating him down... but perhaps getting the local Crustle involved somehow might really drive the message home.

Reward:
Hard Stone + Soft Sand

[OPEN] Mission 11:
They say that hidden through a tunnel on a beach below, one can discover the hidden beach. A beautiful vista, a cavernous cove with a light reaching up to the sky above, the exact location of this crater isn't commonly known but they say that on nights like this, the open sky above is unpoluted by city lights... and that the myriad stars of the sky shine brightly down on those who rest under their gaze. In a world full of chaos, this is a single bastion of peace. A moment shared here would be one never forgotten.

Reward:
Glowing White Comet Shard

Mission 12:
People are chasing down an Absol on the cliffside portion of Muraille Coast. They believe the species presence in the area is what brought about the disaster of the ship crashing. Clearly these more simple locals don't possess the ability to see passed their myths and legends... and thus are chasing, harrassing and hurting an innocent pokémon. Follow them and stop them, either by talking or by force, so long as they back off justice will be served.

Reward:
Ebony Bauble (Boosts the power of dark type moves).

So I'm just gonna start with a mini explanation of what the heck this is, for those weren't there when we discussed it in Discord. The essential gist of the "bio bytes" is to help in developing certain aspects of our characters we may not have considered, as this sort of things can really juggle ideas. I'll probably be delivering them in 5 question segments, with semi personal questions about the characters (Meaning no questions about sexuality or who you voted for). Since my activity is gonna be dropped over the next few weeks, I am thinking that if you guys have questions you want to pitch to me, I can pick out the best ones and put them in the upcoming one. Also these questions aren't mandatory, but will have a minute affect on the IC, since Sycamore will have this information. You can have your character answer 3 out of 5 or one out of five, but unless you ignore all of them, a lack of answer is still an answer. With all that said, I'd say the questions should probably be answered from the perspective of your character in the mindset they're in in the IC at that moment.

Bio-Bytes

Hello Aquacorde Graduates, it is I, none other than Professor Sycamore himself. I'm very busy at the moment, so I intend to make this message brief. In their tasks to inspire those who are following in your footsteps, your former teachers have asked me to help gather tips and helpful details about what brought other successful trainers in the journeys the themselves went on. It was my idea however, to ask yourselves, the bright and exciting students of yesteryear. My assistants, Dexio and Sina will be putting together personal profiles for each of you with the information we gather, but to make things interesting, the questions can be anything from, why you like Pikachu, to which gym you would take over if the opportunity arrived. Every answer is useful to us.

Q1 - Which gym would you take over if given the choice? Why? (Not all of you aspire to be champions or gym leaders, but such an authoritative role goes far beyond that.)

Q2 - What was your favourite pokemon typing growing up? Why? Has this changed? Why? (Dont mistake this as the same question as number one. Many may have other reasons)

Q3 - What would you do if you were to witness a crime? (Of course it depends on the crime: theft...or worse)

Q4 - Who is your best friend? What qualities do they have that stand out for you?

Q5 - Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Bio-Bytes (1st Edition)

Dear Professor Sycamore,

Thank you, and my former educators, for taking such interest in my person. I will try to answer these question as concisely and accurately as possible.

Q1 - Which gym would you take over if given the choice? Why? (Not all of you aspire to be champions or gym leaders, but such an authoritative role goes far beyond that.)

Mhm, this is my kind of question. I did some quick refreshing on gyms near and far, and I think Mauville City's gym would be my choice. I debated among some other options, but I believe the technological advancements Mauville has taken are both some of the most impressive and most environmentally friendly, as their advancements hardly interfere with the surrounding Pokemon habitats. A technologically advanced city feels right at home for me, with the beauties of nature and Pokemon in their natural habitat being not too far away. And of course, the battling is always great.

Q2 - What was your favourite pokemon typing growing up? Why? Has this changed? Why? (Dont mistake this as the same question as number one. Many may have other reasons)

Growing up, I only had a bug net for the longest time, so my urge to inspect and discover was first expressed with the many Bug types living around my home in Driftveil. Nowadays, I can't quite say what my favorite type is. Although, if had to choose... Normal would be pretty high up there. Some may say its dull and boring, but I say its a malleable and flexible type, able to handle many different situations.

Q3 - What would you do if you were to witness a crime? (Of course it depends on the crime: theft...or worse)

I'm no enforcer of the law, far from it, but I have had a run-in with those against the law before. I can understand some people doing bad things for the right reason, although more often than not, I run into no-brained delinquents. Depending on the severity, my Pokemon and I do everything in our power to make things right.

Q4 - Who is your best friend? What qualities do they have that stand out for you?

That title would go to my starter Pokemon, Yotta the Porygon2 (as of the time of this reponse). For being two completely different species, one of which is artificial, we surprisingly see eye to eye with each other on a lot of things. Yotta is determined and faithful, and that's all I can really ask from a partner. I'm still getting to know most of my Pokemon, but so far, Yotta is the bestest friend I have so far.

I hope you can excuse my improper choice of vocabulary. Just felt like the point needed to be emphasized.

Q5 - Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Desirably, in a best case scenario, as a Pokemon Champion. Traveling the world, catching and battling new Pokemon, and taking place in battles that I watched with awe in my childhood. In an ever better scenario, I would desire to be a Pokemon Professor, continually working to quench my thirst for knowledge... but with actual government funding.

Of course, these are all fantasies, nothing more, nothing less. For now, I'm simply content with trying to complete the Kalos Pokemon League challenge. From there? Who knows where my curiosity will take me.

Sincerely, Claudio Hickory.

Bio Bytes with Christopher Juarez Javier Gallileo Mendella Rodriguez (Part One)

Q1 - Which gym would you take over if given the choice? Why? (Not all of you aspire to be champions or gym leaders, but such an authoritative role goes far beyond that.)
Nacrene City gym. It?s no longer an operational gym in Unova sadly, but Lenora was an inspiration to me growing up. Her gym is located in a museum, and while i'd probably make sure any actual battles happened far away from the exhibits (or in her case, my office.) I think it's important for a gym leader to also have an actual profession

Q2 - What was your favourite pokemon typing growing up? Why? Has this changed? Why? (Dont mistake this as the same question as number one. Many may have other reasons)
The mysterious Ghost-type has always been very special to me. The past is nothing but Ghosts. Memories of what once was? so I guess they're just a huge part of my love for History. Or maybe my love of history is why I love them?

Q4 - Who is your best friend? What qualities do they have that stand out for you?
My starter buddy Whisper! I mean, our Pok?mon are our constant companions through everything thick and thin after all. He's loyal and trustworthy. He'll always have my back.

Q5 - Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Home in Unova certainly, hopefully curating a new museum in Lentimas town. It would do wonders for the towns tourism, and I feel like the town has plenty of history to share with everybody. Plus with the Reversal mountain so close, maybe I could open up a mine and see what geological finds might be just underneath the surface.

Stage 14 - Cyllage City

~There are very few Cyllage City remixes. It's a beach anyway so deal with the booty.~

Time at Stage Start: 10 AM

At long last, after many grueling challenges and dangerous foes, after multiple adventures and encounters with evil organisation team Cinder, our heroes have arrived at Cyllage City, the second major stop in the Kalosian League. They enter now into what many ace trainers refer to as the North Western League belt, for those following the standard route as our heroes are, there is a slew of gym battles and badges to be earned on our characters routes as they attempt to loop back around to the glowing Lumiose City... where they will finally get a chance to face off against the Sinnoh guest leader, Volkner.

However, it won't be a simple matter of walking along this stretch collecting badges along the way. A great many fierce and intense battles meet our gym battlers along the way, no leader is going to give up their badge without a fight... Grant the Rock Climbing Leader of Cyllage City is no exception, as he stands as the first challenge to those trainers looking to earn their second badge and finally cement themselves as true candidates for the Kalos Pok?mon League.

For those not partaking in the gym challenge, Cyllage city still has plenty to offer. A beautiful coastal city known for its various sporty activities and action based living environment, its Kalos' number one fitness center and a great place to relax and unwind when not partaking in the active and tiring activities the city is known for. Those with roller blades or a bike will find themselves at home here and those without will find them in plentiful supply. The fossil trade stretches up this way too, perhaps finding its prime excavation point in the caves surrounding the mountainous cliffside upon whcih the city is based, the gym itself being secluded away inside of the biggest natural opening that could be found.

If they're to be Grant's next challenger, a newfound athletic spirit or just someone eager to see the sights and sounds of the ocean, our heroes are bound for the city of peaceful strolls... Cyllage at last!

Leaping up and down from areas of various elevation means that more agile pok?mon have an advantage... with two massive fossil pok?mon at his disposal, one might find Grant's choice of battleground somewhat lacking tactically, however this misconception is quickly tossed aside as you realize that the arena is built to allow massive pok?mon such as Tyrantrum to easily dart and dive around cover, using the larger spires of rock to their advantage. Nimble agility, a clever mind for positioning or an overpowering force may be needed to (literally or figuratively) level the battlefield.

Once a battle has ended, the previous arena is lowered by machinery into the ground and a massive slab of stone is dropped into atop it, this new slab is then carved out expertly by a team of excadrills in seconds, allowing it to take the same shape as the arena before it, seemingly good as new.

Leader's Tactics:
Grant doesn't focus as much on speedy dodges and subterfuge as Viola does, instead using home turf advantage and a few tricky combinations to completely overpower his opponents with an ancient fossil force. Aurorus is presented initially as a staller and uses its mist, hail, light screen and encore to weaken the enemy and protect them both from special attacks which are dangerous to them both. Often times the unprepared trainer can get lost in the mist early and their pok?mon are rapidly picked off by the flying boulders of ancient power... however if he sees an opportunity, Grant will not hesitate to use Hyper Beam, altered by refrigerate to be an equivalent to hyper charged ice beam.

The problems Aurorus can't handle itself get tackled by the imposing Tyrantrum. A collosal fossil pok?mon proudly bearing the sturdy types of rock and dragon, physical attacks without type advantage bounce of of its sturdy scales like small stones on a boulder. When Tyrantrum comes out, Grant understands that he needs one thing. An unstoppable force. The despot pok?mon hurtles through the rock spires of the battlefield, tossing them aside like they're nothing and using his powerful dragon attacks and myriad of elemental jaws to tear through oponents based on their weakness. When pushed to his absolute limit, Grant will order Tyrantrum to unleash its special technique... the "Tri Fang", inspired by tri-attack, tri fang involves Tyrantrum channeling all three elemental fangs at once and crushing an opponent with primordial fury. This technique is sure to leave Tyrantrum exhausted, but in terms of power and volatility even the strongest and sturdiest pok?mon will be knocked out by the smallest contact.

How will you and your pok?mon stand up and topple the solid tactics of Grant and his mountainous mon?
