2016: bad year, would not recommend

That reminds me, I actually rewatched Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone last night and I thought of him again.

Oh, and Leonard Cohen has also died, as if the list of lost legends couldn't grow more. Add on Brexit and Donald Trump screwing our whole generation over, 2016 will be year everyone wants to forget.

All of us will know it because it's relevant in our minds. Seriously, his successful campaign makes me want America to impose a restriction of "must have political experience" to future presidential candidates because his lack of political knowledge is why he'll be the worst President in our memory.

yep. but we dont really know how bad the previous ones were, because we never really witnessed how horrible they were with our own eyes. but still, trump must die.
 
I'm going to echo the "US Election" cry of what the worst thing in 2016 is.
 
I think I'll say SNP getting back into power
 
As for what has shaken me the most, the Pulse shooting and the election of Donald Trump. Both events left me shaken to my core, feeling unsafe to leave my home. I honestly don't recall any other time I was more afraid than I was when these events took place. But all I can do is take that fear and sadness to put it towards something more and move forward.

As for my personal life, my grandmother passed away this year. Actually, I had three funerals in a row to begin my year, as well as putting down a cat. Terrible start. And, while not entirely personal as this affects the state, Alabama is currently in a drought and because our state government doesn't believe in climate change or anything scientific for that matter, no one has a water plan made up nor is there news of anything being worked on. I think the last I read, we're not predicted to receive rainfall until January or February of 2017. That's unacceptable.
 
What really made this year terrible was that it was topped with an election that has finally shown to me that everyone, including the left, failed all of us.

It's time to stop writing off everyone.
 
It was actually a pretty good year for me personally. Kept my job for seven months and will have it heading into new year (somehow), getting in better with the magazine, expanding my business interests, going out to different things with people etc. In terms of personal growth it's been the best yet. That combined with Pokémon Go - that month was absolutely incredible as it was like a childhood dream come true... been pretty good for me. LegendChu's events too.

Like I personally think that despite awful things happening all over the world... you're sorta more exposed to it now than like five years ago. It's more of a culture thing than anything. Society has shifted and thus a lot of these things have happened (social, wise). You feel more connected with things now due to social media and technology. It's not a necessarily bad year, it's just more memorable than the other years (even if other years were comparably worse).

Then again I generally ignore the bad and concentrate on the good. I know bad shit has happened this year but it's so out of my radar that I don't even think about it.

Everybody keeps bringing up Trump. It's been 10 days since he got elected, and the moron's already made a spectacle of himself.

Here's a 2017 silver lining: we all know how we vilified Bush as our president. Trump's ridicule will make the teasing of Bush look like a splinter in comparison. The Daily Show's gonna have so much fun!
 
Man, and here I wished that Aliens would come here at last. Well, there's still December but it's doubtful that they would arrive by then...
